Hi everybody. I'm new here and already LOVE this site.

Want to share with you my solution to exercising.

Very simple, all you have to do is put your alarm clock

to 30 minutes earlier, get out of bed, put your TV

to FitTV channel...

And exercise!!!

The key is CONSISTENCY!

And for me, it helps to put the alarm clock on the other side of the room!

I love Total Body Sculpt with Gilad on fit tv!

Also, lifetime airs Denise Austin workouts, for those who can't get fit tv.

I have also been working out to Total Body with Gilad, but I think I am over doing it. I work out to it 5 days a week and though I am only in my second week, I am soooo sore, I am almost crippled!  :dizzy:

We are of a compulsive nature, aren't we?

If we weren't, we wouldn't likely have found this website (or in my case, created it!) or this forum.

Listen to your body! It's trying to tell you something!

(Your mother made me write that.)

you say "only into your second week" so i asume this is a new thing for you (working out)   in that case - start out at 3 times a week, go to 4, then 5.   you will feel soreness through out the years of working out - no matter how much you work out, there will at some point be soreness agian - but feeling crippled isnt so great. take a rest , then get back to it! if your afraid that you stop your routine you'll never go back... switch things up - instead of the tape thing, go for a walk... jump rope.. swim.. .bike... pilates. whatever you want really.

Oh how I miss Fit Tv :crying:  My cable provider just removed it from the lineup.  I mean granted it showed a lot of repeats.  But I still loved it.  I have so many Gilad and All Star Workouts copied on my dvr.  But for those of you who don't have it, don't sweat it because once you did get it you would've seen everything it has to offer in about 2 months.  How do I know this?-- Because my dvr box (from the same stinkin company:angry:) has had to be replaced 3 times.  Which means each time I lose all of my workouts.  And I've always been able to get all of my exact same episodes back.  I just go to their website and see when the next one is coming on and I record it.  And it showed repeats of the same reality shows.  How many times do I have to see the same group of people try to lose weight? 5? 10?  Even MTV doesn't re-run their series as much as Fit Tv.  It makes you think that nobody is working there trying to come up with anything new.  As if it's all just run by a computer...

I'm sure someone has said this about fitness shows somewhere else, but...they get on my nerves, for one big reason:

Okay, the people on there are in as about a good a shape as you can get. I mean, how could they not be after making all those shows?

But hello!? The rest of us are doing them because we're overweight! Maybe their lean sculpted bodies are supposed to be motivation for us to try and look like that...but, I mean, they're like "ohhh, this should feel soooo good, stretching out your calves, and hamstrings, and blah blah blah..." ...

and I'm just "grunt. ugghhh. can't...do...this..."

Okay, I'm rambling cause I'm sleepy, so now I'm going to go to bed.

LOL Clarinetgurl, I feel the same way about some of the exercise videos I have.  Watching their superfit bodies can be motivating and annoying at the same time.  At least the workout video of The Biggest Loser actually had more 'real' people exercising.

My favorite lines that I absolutely hate are: in The Firm Videos - "This is fun!"  Makes me yell NO IT'S NOT...need control not to toss the remote at the screen.

And, in Denise Austin videos - "We're burning butter now!"  Man, after all these years couldn't ya come up with a new line or two?

I do Total Body Sculpt, too, and I DVR them and keep extras stored up for days they don't run in cycle, like Thanksgiving Day and the day after.  After looking around the site, I'm wondering if since I've been working out for several months now I need to move up to doing a Gilad workout twice a day instead of only once, in the morning and afternoon, or if I should be doing a different workout before or after it, or what.  I'm just not feeling like 30 minutes is a long enough workout for me for the entire day.  Don't get me wrong, I'm sweating by the time I'm done, but I still have a mommy belly, and my thighs and arms need help.  This is the only workout I've done since I had my son last November, and I started in June or so, and I've lost 18 lbs. since I started, so it hasn't been bad, but I need more at this point.

With the FitTv shows...I'm doing Gilad's Bodies in Motion..how would you figure the calories burned on this site?

Would "Aerobics, general" be good? Or "Aerobics, low impact"? Or is it not aerobics at all?
