Exactly.  There's nothing 'magical' about TJ or any other exercise program for that matter.  I will say it's the most FUN I've ever had exercising though.  But it's all about striking a healthy balance.  You can't do a workout every now and then and/or eat poorly and expect to see real results.  It's consistency...with exercise & eating.  In fact, even in the TJ booklet it gives you a workout schedule to follow, an eating plan, etc.  It even calculates the number of calories you should be eating.  (yes, I know you can do that here also lol)

I guess what I'm trying to say is to achieve results, you must be willing to make a real committment to daily exercise and eating right.  And then, any workout program will work for you.

Good luck!

Thanks for elaborating on that for me :) The joys of living in a busy household...not much time for internet! For me, I've noticed that when I stuck with the beginner workout schedule in TJ, I started to really see the start of some results after a few weeks. This was with doing Ab Jam 5 or even 6 days a week for 2 weeks. (I had some Halloween costume issues...had to tone my abs alot more to fit into it.)

If you want quicker results, I would try Slim in 6. I've just ordered it, and I've heard in many places that it is THE BEST Beachbody product for blasting fat. I guess it can get pretty repetitive and boring, but I think that if it works it's worth a try. It also comes with a more detailed eating plan, but the main part of that you can find on the internet. Look up Michi's Ladder and try to stick to the top two tiers. I think the way it works is the farther down a food is, the less healthy it is for you.

Hi deliaann, I've heard the same thing about Slim in 6 about it being boring/repetitive.  I watched a little of one of the work outs on cable (Exercise on demand channel) and it did look quite blah.  I hope you find it loads better!  I actually have enjoyed anything I've received from Beachbody - TJ, Hip Hop Abs, even Yoga Booty Ballet.

I really started seeing results with TJ after I started the 'Advanced Rotation' I found on the beachbody forum (it incorporates all of her other more advanced TJ dvds).  I ordered ALL of the TJ dvd packages out there (even the 'on the ball' series ) and the rotation was tough - but very effective.  And I did have lots of fun during that sweating though!!!

Good luck to you guys!

Hi everyone~~

I posted this, the first time, as a new topic....but I think I've got it now!

I did Turbo Jam for the first time on Saturday.  I did the Learn part twice---I must not be as cooridinated as I thought.  Last night I did the Burn twice.  However, I wasn't able to go through the whole thing without stopping.  I did better the second time.  I was expecting my abs to be really sore the next day---but the only thing I noticed was my back muscles.

I do really like TJ though!  I think it is fun and time definately doesn't stand still, like every other workout video I've tried.

One question I have is...does anyone find engaging their abs throughout the excercises hard?  It's easy during certain moves, but am I supposed to be doing it all the time and this is why I don't feel the burn the next day?:nono:   When I notice that I'm not doing it, I engage them but it just doesn't allow you to move the way she's wanting you to.....

I love to read everyone's posts---you all are doing a great job!

I have found that it's kind of a gradual thing with the abs. Just keep trying to engage them as much as you can when you remember, and eventually you'll get so that you naturally do it without thinking.

You don't always have to be doing it either. Pay attention to when she mentions it, or when it seems reasonable. If you can't move, then don't worry about it. The movement will work more than if just your abs are engaged.

Thank you for your reply!  Unfortunately, I was so exhausted last night, I didn't get to do TJ.  I'm doing it tonight.  I will try to focus more on my abs but not through out all the moves.:dizzy:

Ok I'm back...so I haven't been doing it five days a week. I'm trying to get into a routine though. My youngest (three months old) goes to bed around 8 and is up between three and four for a bottle, then I have to be up no later than six to get ready for work, so I'm trying to squeeze in an hour somewhere to work out. And I'm sorry that your roommates laugh at you, that makes it hard. I always do it when I know my husband won't catch me because I'm sure I look silly ;)

I must say that I am having fun when I do TJ. The most difficult part for me so far is the kicks...they kick so high up and my body just isn't ready for that. I haven't done the Ab Jam yet, I've still been doing the Learn & Burn followed by the 20 minute workout so that I can concentrate on keeping my form before getting into anything more difficult.

Please let me know if anyone would like to chit chat more...And I need to see as many success stories as possible to keep me going, so let me know if anyone has any. I'm still watching the infomercial every chance I get because that really motivates me, too :)

I've now moved on to Slim in 6. We'll have to see how that goes. I love Turbo Jam, but I'm just not getting results as fast as I would like. I think it'll be good maintenance workouts :)

I received an email from Beachbody the other day - and it looks like Chalene from Turbo Jam is coming out with more workouts!  Apparently these aren't 'turbo jam' but 'ChaLEAN Extreme' workouts that focus more on creating lean muscle mass.  Looks really good!  Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link - but here it is.  Can't wait till October!

Hello, I just received my Turbo Jam package yesterday.  I can't wait to get started.  I am feeling a bit overwhelmed about the 11 Elite moves.  I hope I can keep it all straight.  I'm not the most coordinated, and I'm also memory challenged.  LOL!

I just joined this forum because the website, mybeachbody.com they tell you to log in to will cost around $14 a month.  I can't really afford that since I just invested over $70 in this package.

Well, I'm glad I found this group.  I'm looking forward to being accountable to folks who have also committed to losing weight and better health.

I wonder what that is...I think that happened to me as well. I now managed to join the actual free forums. You can also join WOWY for free. I definitely recommend it. I would look around the boards first though for a potential coach. That's right, you get a coach for free :) I had a not so good one though and I switched. If you find a coach first, most of them will have a signup form that you can use directly.

I'm still here if you have any questions but I just don't check this as often now that I joined those boards.

My biggest piece of advice for you: Stick with it! The more practice you get, the better you will get at the moves. Chalene does mention this in the videos, and it's totally true. Also, follow the sample rotation they give you. It makes it so much easier than having to figure it out.

WOWY.com re-directs you to milliondollarbody.com which ends up being a paid subscription after the one month trial.  Is there something I'm missing because that's what I was told over the phone by a customer service rep.?

Does anyone have the TJ Live DVDs?   I have the maximum results package, but want to suppliment with more cardio routines and was wondering if these were any good.

I'm also looking at the TJ Fat Burning Elite, but it looks like there is a repeater workout in the package.  Any opinions?

The new routines look interesting but A) I'm a long way from being able to do those moves - heck the twist still get me.  and B) It looks like you need a lot of equipment to really do it right.    Anyway, I need to concentrate on cardio, cardio, cardio.

I would go for the Fat Burning Elite package over the Live one. It has 3 workouts instead of 2. What are you thinking is the repeated workout?

Also, they don't take much extra equipment. Anything you would need comes with except for weights and you don't necessarily have to use any of it.

If you really want more cardio, the Fat Burning Elite is DEFINITELY the way to go. It has Fat Blaster AND Cardio Party 3. Both are pretty intense cardio. 3T is somewhat similar to Turbo Sculpt, but I think it's more painful. Which means it works your muscles harder, right? :)

Okay, I finally got the scoop on WOWY.com.  Here is the answer I received on the Team Beachbody Forum for those of you who may have been as confused as I was on this:
WOWY (our online gym) and the message boards are FREE. You will only have a charge if you join the Club or become a Coach. The Club will be what offers you access to trainer tips and online tools. There is a quarterly fee of $38.87. To become a coach, it costs $39.95 with a monthly fee of $14.95 each month.
You can register at the WOWY.com site (redirects to milliondollarbody.com) for free.  You can use some things on the site like your profile and your transformation tracker.  You are also assigned a personal coach.  The coach's name with a link will appear on left hand column. If you try to use any of the other tools a box will come up asking you to join the Club.

Yep, that's exactly right. If I were you though, I would browse through the boards to find yourself a coach that is right for you. Or you could just see who you end up with and you might get lucky.

Hey Midge - I've got all the TJ dvds, but when I originally ordered them quite awhile ago the 'package names' were different.  I hope this helps:

http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/advanced/turbo_jam_fat_burning_elite.do

It looks like at this point in time, Fat Burning Elite comes with Fat Blaster (awesome!), 3T (the only TJ dvd I don't like - too easy), Cardio Party Mix #2 & #3 (both awesome), and Lower Body Jam (good!).

I would chose this over the Live package anyday, but I will say I LOVE both of the Live dvds and just did the Cardio Party Remix Live one today lol!  And the Booty Sculpt Plus Abs Live one is incredible for buns/thighs/abs sculpting.

Her 'Get on the Ball' workouts are fun, too but kind of different.
