Hi!  I'm a 34-year-old female.  I started Turbo Jam on 12/31/05.  I eat 2300 calories per day (balancing fat (77 grams)/carbs (287 grams)/and protein (115 grams) daily).  I'm 5'7.5".  I exercise between 30 to 60 minutes, six days per week.  I was not eating correctly for 3 of those days (eating way more than 2300 calories per day).  To date I've lost 14 pounds and 13 inches (5 inches from my waist alone). :D  This is an awesome workout that I would recommend to anyone.

You can get more information on the workout by clicking on the green Turbo Jam banner above, or the Weight Loss Products link at the bottom of the page.

Best of health to everyone!  :)

That is fantastic. I was doing TJ faithfully for some time and had great results. I stopped doing it for some ungodly reason but have just started back up. Seeing your results is very encouraging.

I'm a 37 year old female.  You know how we reach little "plateaus" in our fitness life?  My first one was at about 21 ro 22 as I was looking at my backside in the mirror.  My thought was, "I'm not 18 anymore, am I?"  Happened again at 30 and again at... guess what?  About 35.

I have been active on and off for years doing aerobics and running, mostly.  Recently I moved to a new state and had to start up a new exercise program without my running buddies and friends, etc.  I have been doing OK, running races once or twice a month (as opposed to 4x a week as it once was... life got in the way), playing field hockey twice a week, and I did my first duathlon on my 37th birthday.  Yay me!

So what's the problem?  I have gained about ten pounds from a point where I needed to lose about 20.  That makes 30 nasty pounds now.  My weight won't budge.  Granted, my diet was better before I moved.  (Stress caused me to spend a lot of time at Burger King... ) but even watching what I eat, I am not making any headway, especially in classic problem areas most women deal with.  I chalked it up to being 37.  But that's a really poor excuse.

I have seen the commercials for turbo jam over and over and over again.  I have bought viedos in the past, and I never do the routines for very long.  I get bored, I don't like the music much, and the routines just don't seem to do what they claim they will.  Surprise.  I decided to give it one last try with turbo jam, because I'm desperate and it was something I hadn't tried before.

Before I bought, I read some stuff online, read chats, etc.  People have a lot of good things to say about turbo jam.  Truth?  I didn't believe any of you.  I was fully prepared to spend my money and find that it was all the same as everything else.

The videos came Sunday.  I started today with the Learn & Burn, as the program suggests.  I have to be honest; I thought with field hockey and whatnot, this would be too easy and goofy, but I'm rather uncoordinated, so I decided to "suffer" through the beginning stuff just to learn the moves.

I just finished.  I literally just turned off the DVD.  I am shocked.  My abs ache.  My shoulders and arms ache.  My butt aches.  It was only about 25 minutes long, and I'm sweating.  What's that about?  I'm actually quite encouraged.

As I said, I've never liked the music on these videos and I didn't believe any of you on this point either, that the music made you want to jump around and punch and kick and twist... and... well, I was boogie-ing like a fool with great enthusiasm.  I'm really surprised at all of this.  I expected disappointment.

Anyway, if you've gotten through this long post that is not sponsored by anyone, I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.  Today was my first day.  If I actually stick to this, I just might be one rockin' hot 37-yr-old!

Yay!  I'm so excited for you.  I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the results you get.  The first month I followed the Beginner program because I had not exercised in 7 months and I thought I would die (oxygen wise) with the Learn&Burn.  :D  Yes, I was so sore I could hardly walk - especially after the Turbo Sculpt workout.  :)  Now I combine one cardio with one strength workout Monday through Saturday.  Sunday is my rest day.  :)  Today I have on pants that when I started back on 12/31/05 I couldn't even get up past my hips.  I LOVE Turbo Jam.  I'm not salesperson but I'm a "true believer" that this program works.  Keep me posted on your progress.  I'm excited to hear about it.

I had to edit this message because I forgot to mention that since I began incorporating cardio and strength my caloric intake has increased to 2400 calories per day.  Did I mention I LOVE Turbo Jam?   :P

I have been debateing to get these videos for a long time.  It seems to incorporate a lot of things i enjoy.  I use to take a kickboxing class at my gym and I loved.  Thias program seems to involve that and great bdy movement.  However I have been gon ho about the billy blanks series tabo.  I order the bootcamp and it was to complicated and extremely difficult to stick with.  Is this series easy to understand the moves/  Also how many tapes are included in the set   about how much does it cost.  I have just been trying to eat better by watching calories.  I have lost 12 pounds since Nov. 2005.  but have stalled in the last month.  Maybe this will do the trick to get me back on the losing end.  Great job with you success.  You go girl

:)  Hey jsteck!  Congrats on your weight loss!!

The moves (to me) are not too complicated especially if you follow the Learn&Burn program several times.  Chalene is really good about demonstrating the moves.  She also reminds you during the workout to watch your posture, etc.  Plus, her moves are slower than the new Taebo bootcamp.  There's no way I could keep up the pace with the new Taebo workouts (used to do Taebo back in the day).  :)  There are 2 DVDs included with the original package.  It was Learn&Burn, 20 Minute, & Turbo Sculpt on DVD 1 and Cardio Party Mix 1 & Ab Jam on DVD 2.  I upgraded to get the Cardio Party Mix 2 and Lower Body Jam.  I've since ordered the "live" workouts: Cardio Party Remix and Booty Sculpt +Abs.  I absolutely love working out with Chalene and the crew.  :D  Cost?  I can't quite remember but I broke the payments into monthly payments instead of paying all at once.  You can get more info at the website (see above).

Since beginning 12/31/05 my results are as follows:
  • Neck = .5 inch
  • Chest = 2.5 inches
  • Waist = 7.25 inches
  • Abdomen = 4.75 inches
  • Hips = 3.25 inches
  • Left Thigh = 2.5 inches
  • Right Thigh = 2.5 inches
  • Left Calf = .5 inch
  • Right Calf = .5 inch
  • Left Arm = .75 inches
  • Right Arm = .25 inch
Total = 25 inches lost

Weight lost = 17 pounds.  :D

I really don't think you'll be disappointed with this workout.  Just review the Turbo Jam website and read reviews online @ FitnessInfomercial reviews and you'll see that TJ is a wonderful workout.  Good luck!!  If you decide to order please keep me updated with your results.  Thanks.  :)

I saw a program on tv for Turbo Jam while at work (I'm a part time nanny... baby was asleep, other child on computer...). I remembered this topic on the forum and remembered the great reviews everyone was giving for it so I picked up the phone and ordered it!!!
I'm so excited to recieve the package... I'll get it in about a week... 5 dvds, stretch bands (or something), subscription to the website, nutrients, books AND a free 3 month subscription to 3 magazines of my choice. How could I resist?

Anyway... I'm just really excited... I hope I get as good results as I've read here.

yay!

:D  Showmpunkxcore, I think you'll be truly happy with TJ.  I've never gotten results with any other workout like I have with TJ and I've done a lot.  I've done The Firm, Taebo, walking tapes, step aerobics, treadmill, stationary bike, Winsor Pilates, Oxycise, etc.  I'm truly a Turbo addict.  Best of health to you.  Keep me posted of your results.

I've just come down with a pretty bad cold, which isn't cool. Hopefully it'll be mostly gone by the time my Turbo Jam package arrives. Should be here within the next week so I hope that's enough time to get better.
I read you burn up to 700 calories in 45 minutes. Is that true?

I don't know about the calorie burn.  I'm a pretty simplistic dieter/exerciser.  I hate to measure anything, so I just judge things by how my clothes fit (I have a closet full of "small," "medium," and "large" clothes that has accumulated over years--large being my latest purchases-- and I refuse to buy stuff larger than my large, which is what is just barely fitting me now...).

Anyway, in terms of are the moves easy?  I am hysterically uncoordinated.  When I first started step class many years ago, I was comic relief for the class.  With Turbo Jam, I find it pretty easy to do the 11 moves.  If you've ever taken an aerobics, kickboxing, or step class, these moves are no more complicated than those.  And I'm not very "funky," so in the parts where you do those type of moves, Chalene says not to worry about what you look like... just remember to keep your posture, your shoulders back, your butt tucked under, and squeeze what she tells you to squeeze and you're doing what you need to do.  Thank god.

Good luck!

PS.  This stuff really is fun, even if I do feel like a dork in my living room.  I'm still surprised!

:)  Yes, showmpunkxcore, it's true that you do burn 700 + calories in 45 minutes.  Awesome isn't it?  :D

I hope you feel better soon.  I sprained my ankle wearing the wrong shoes while exercising and am trying to stay off of it for the next few days.

:)  Msjhoff, I agree about this being fun.  It's the most I've ever enjoyed working out.  It's probably why I'm feeling down about my ankle (because I want to do TJ so bad).

hi again!
I just wanted to say that I just completed my first week of Turbo Jam and I haven't noticed dramatic weight loss or inch loss.... but one thing I have noticed is CELLULITE LOSS!! A week ago I had a bumpy butt and bumpy thighs, this morning I walked past the mirror in the bathroom and noticed that it's barely there anymore... just a small bump here and there. WOW. I didn't know getting rid of that would be so easy!
My boyfriend told me yesterday that my shoulders, collar bones and ribs "poke out" too.
I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone cause I'm so happy. Also, my present from my boyfriend for my birthday next week is going to be an mp3 player, music makes exercise so much more fun.

thanks for recomending Turbo Jam. I am so happy already.
Hannah.

:D  I am so happy for you.  I know that this is the only program that I've found that truly does help me to lose inches like never before.  I found that I'm not loosing as much weight but I can wear smaller clothes because of the inch loss.  I'd rather lose inches and wear smaller clothes than lose weight and still be in the same size that I was in.

  BTW, Chalene just introduced 4 new DVDs.  You can find info at turbojam.com/party.  :)  I ordered mine on Thursday.  I didn't do express shipping so I'm not sure when they'll be here.

My ankle is so much better.  Another week and I should be able to resume low impact TJ.

Keep up the great work!!

I just wanted to let you know that I ordered the turbo jam program today.

I researched the web site and the feed back you created and thought i would try it.  It looks really fun which is the main reason I bought it.  I have bought the tabo bootcamp, pilates and countless other programs that very difficult and not very fun to stick with.  I jsut ordered the basic package for now to make sure I Enjoy it Will I be able to get the other programs later if I get into the flow of the program.

I am 5'9 and 173 pounds I am 30 years old even though I have been really watching what I eat I have been stuck at 173 for about 2 months now.  I hope this will break the plateau.  Did you lose 10 pounds 10 inches in seven days like the infrormertial claims.  This really made me skeptical.  I am like you I want to fit into smaller clothes but I would think the scale would move a little bit more as well.  I am really pushing towards getting into the swimsuit of my choice this year not the ugly one that covers up all your flaws(slimsuit).

I am really glad you have given your success  to ever one it makes the rest of us motivated to keep trying when others like you have done well.  Keep on working hard

Thanks

Hi jsteck.  Yay, I'm so happy you're going to give TJ a try.  It IS fun.  I promise you.  I love it!!  Yes, you can get the other programs later on if you decide that you love it as much as I do.

I didn't do the 10 in 10 plan which say you can lose "up to" 10 lbs. and 10 inches in 10 days.  I have a lot of food allergies and can't follow preset food plans.  I do better with eating what I like just in smaller portions.  I have gone from a tight 18 (and I mean tight like needing a 20 but refused to go there) to a comfortable size 16.  My ankle injury has slown me down.  I am hoping to resume my schedule beginning in April.  PLEASE make sure you have the correct shoes.  I was using walking shoes (which is what caused the ankle injury).  I now have a pair of Nike Shox Cross Legend Trainers and love them.  They're so much better to pivot in.  Some others (at my Self forum) have the Nike Shox Ballo and love those as well.  Just make sure you get a shoe that you can pivot easily in.  My walking shoes didn't allow that and that's why I injured myself.  :(

Best of luck and health to you.  :D

I go barefoot, too!  Not so much because of the carpet, but because I'm just always barefoot.

In terms of "weight loss," I said before I don't bother with the scale (I don't own one) unless I'm at a gym and I'm curious.  We're building muscle as we do these workouts, and muscle weighs more than fat--in many cases, we're just redistributing the weight and putting it where it should be, especially as we get closer to our target weight.  I'm gauging things by how I look and how my clothes fit.

I haven't tried the 10 lbs in 10 days either, only because with my schedule, it's very hard for me to be so rigid.  What I'm trying to do is use the menus as a model for what I should be eating throughout the day, and I'm trying to take out the junk I've been eating and to cut down on the social drinking with buddies.  I'm also trying to eat more frequent, smaller meals during the day, eating only when I'm hungry, and STOPPING WHEN I'M FULL.  I truly appreciate yummy food and often eat past the point of being full.  What I've found is that when I eat smaller meals and I snack on good things, I'm not hungry much.

Anyway, my progress has been slow, but I'm trying to be patient.  Weight loss and getting in shape is a slow process and staying in shape and healthy is a lifelong process.  It's a slower process the older you are, too, because of metabolism changes.  Sometimes I think we give up too easily when we don't see immediate and dramatic results.  The key is to know that you're doing good things for yourself, you're having fun, and it'll all come with time.

My past experience has been that if I just persevere and don't stress about it all, the changes come.  (It's tough sometimes because beer and Burger King are my comfort crutches when life gets stressful.)

Anyway, my parents are in town this weekend and they haven't seen me for about 6 months.  My mother's comment was, "You're butt is going away."  My jeans are feeling better, and her comment was really encouraging.  I'm also noticing that there is definition starting to appear in my belly.  So I'm gonna keep on jamming away.  We've still got time before bathing suit season, sister, and I want to wear my bikini again!

Another thing I find an inspiration is when I run my races (about 1-2 5ks or 10ks a month--I run with my husband).  There are so many women who run these who are in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s.  Some are in great shape--if they can do this at 60, then I can certainly do this at 37.  Some are not in great shape--if they can be strong and confident enough to "just do it," then so can I.

My TJam system has been delayed .  It will not be here for another three days. That figures when you really want something to come in the mail it takes longer than that other junk you dont want. Anyways I glad you informed me about the 10 in 10.  In the informial they really make you think this is possible.  I knew there had to be some drastic changes in eating for 10 lbs to come off.  All the books , people, magazines etc that I have read  have all said 1-2 lbs a week is the best efficient weight loss.

I am like you I have been eating well.  I eat 5-6 meals a day.  I count calories , fat grams, carb grams and protein grams.  I have been really trying to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into each meal.   They help fill you up and dont have much fat.  I have also started drinking a protein shake each day to add more protein to my diet.  I use Myolex lite.  One pack is 180 cal, 2fat grams,  19 carb grams and 25 proetin grams.I also cut back on alcohol -4-5 michelob ultras for the week.  They only have 95 cal.  I have been told that rum and diet coke is good with few calories.

Is the tjam system better on carpet or say hard surfaces.   I see some people have been doing the program in bare feet and others are using a type of cross trainer.  The people who do theirs in bare feet  are you experiencing any problems .  I usually use a cross trainer or running shoes for any athletic type movements.

I was also wandering how old and the progress of everyone reponding to this forum.

I am 30 years old 173 lbs, 5'9 in tall.  I have lost 13 lbs since october.  I have stalled in the scale department, but seemed to be losing inches.  My clothes are loser and are not tight.  I am wearing 12's and a few 10'2 in pants depending on the cut style.

I am really striving to wear the bikini in the Victoria secret catalog .  I usually have to settle for a tankini or one piece to cover up my rolls.  Maybe by summer things will starrt to look up.

I'm 19 years old.... 5'2 ..... started at about 139lbs about a month ago and am now down to 124 - 126ish (i dont usually go by the scale that much, i dont believe it is accurate enough with muscle gain and everything as well).... i do turbo jam barefoot on carpet... usually a cardio and a strength workout each day.... although I've been slacking the past few days and need to get back into it.

I'm excited for you to start! I love it, and the results are doing great so far.

Also, I have found a lot of cellulite loss from my butt and thighs... So lots of turbo jam (plus maybe less coffee) has resulted in smoother legs which makes me happy :)...  I've lost inches all over... I mostly see it in my upper half, but my boyfriend believes I've lost alot of butt as well. :).

anyway.... good luck for when your package turns up! Keep us posted on how things go for you.

Hi.  I'm 34 and started at 225 lbs. and am down to 208 lbs.  I'm 5'7.5".  My ankle injury set me back a month.  However, I didn't gain the weight back so I'm grateful for that.  My upper half is looking much better.  I tend to gain muscle easily.  I don't look like I weigh what I weigh - people always guess way lower.  Even my doc was shocked at my actual weight.  :D  It still bothers me.  I know a number shouldn't get to me but it does.  :(  My ankle is still healing.  I tried to resume normal workouts this week and now my foot is hurting again.  I guess I will refrain for a little bit.  The sad part is that I got my TJ DVDs today and I want to use them so bad!!!!!  Oh well, I will eventually get to it.  I want to lose at least 20 more pounds by mid June.

Keep up the great work everyone.

Just got my turbo jam system today.  I am reading over all the materials.  I definitely not going to follow the strict paln to drop 10 lbs and inches.  I have been really watching my calories 1600-1850 a day comprised of 20% fat 30% protein and 50% carbs.  I have been tracking this to well to sabatoge ot with the strict eating plan they offer.  Any ways i am pleaased with the other info and will get back to after I try my first session.  I hope everyone is still doing well and those of you with injuries try to let them heal so you can get back to us abouit your great progress.

I am so glad I found this forum!  I've seen the infomercial several times and this time came right to my computer to do some research.  So far I've found only positive feedback.  I just placed my order online and can't wait to start the workout.  I'm 30 years old,  I weigh 216 pounds as of yesterday, down from 306 back in Dec. 2004.  I joined LA Weight Loss, which I'm not here to promote, but I will say it's been a great program for me and I thank God I found it.  It may not work for everyone but it's been great for me.  Having said that, I have a few questions:

1. Due to my weight loss, I have a lot of flab that needs to be toned.  I gain most of my weight in my stomach.  I might have a little bit of loose skin, but my weight loss has been very slow so it's most just a lot of jiggly stuff.  Will this program help to tone that?  Or will I still be really jiggly?

2.  My butt is sagging, also due to weight loss.  Will this help lift/firm it at all?  I've seen a few posts about decreased cellulite, which is very encouraging.

3.  Does the program come with a workout schedule to let you know when to do each workout?

Thanks for reading - and thanks for all of your helpful posts! :)

Hey Suzy,
First I just want to say congradulations on your purchase! and the I'm sure you'll enjoy every Turbo  Jam workout.

If you got the same package as I did, It should come with a book that shows you the basic manuvers etc. It also has a "beginners" regime and an "advanced" one... So you do which workouts it says each day. I don't really follow that though... I do between 2 and 4 Turbo Jam workouts most days (yes, I am addicted), whereas the advanced regime only really has 1 long workout or 2 smaller workouts per day...

I have had a lot of success with this program, even before I started to workout this much. I lost about 12lbs in my first couple of weeks with it, now it's down to 1 or 2 per week, which I'm still happy with (my calorie counting has kind of slipped a bit due to my 19th birthday and my boyfriend, Greg's, 21st birthday within a week). Hopefully I'll get back onto that calorie counting horse soon and get back into it better.

Along with Turbo Jam I usually play tennis with Greg 5-6 times a week for fun. And run the local lake a couple times a week.

I find that Turbo Jam really helps with toning. I mean, my butt and legs are getting better everyday... As for my stomach... well, it's on its way... I haven't touched the Ab Jam workout yet, even though I've had this program almost a month now. Maybe I should get into that a bit too. But I HAVE noticed alot more muscle in the ab area even from the cardio and total body strength workouts. My arms don't wobble everytime I move them anymore, and even though I'm trying to lose a bit more from that area, I'm sure I'll be satisfied soon enough.

As for your butt lifting? Well, I believe this workout will help it... especially usuing Lower Body Jam... you'll be doing alot of squats and lifts with the green bands and you really feel your muscles changing while you work. My jean size is now down to a 7 (and even these new ones I just bought are getting a little big/saggy)... A lot of people disagree with me being here if I can almost fit into a 5 but I'm only 5'2 and every lb shows. I'm currently at about 124lbs.... and hope to lose maybe 5-10 more. Then, I'll still be here helping others to acheive what they dream of acheiving. See, me being here isn't all about me... I believe in everyone here and you're all a part of the reason I am here. And plus, being thin doesn't naturally mean you're "healthy" or toned.

I'm sorry I wrote so much haha :D...

Good luck with Turbo Jam and I'm excited to hear about how much you enjoy this workout and all your results in the future!

Just wanted to let everyone know I did the learn/burn DVD.  This was so easy to follow.  I had really no difficulty with any of the moves.  Usually I strruggle with some DVDS but  this one breaks it down for you .  I really enjoy this because it incorporates kickboxing dancing and great music.  It really dosent seem like working out.  I really cant wait to do it the next time.  Definitely a great purchase.one that I am happy that I spent the 60 bucks on and i will use it.

I have seen the commercial for this so many times, it looks so much fun.  My only question is if it's for everyone.  I'm pretty out of shape and I just need to know exactly how hard this workout is.  Are there different levels, like beginner, intermediate and advanced, or is it the kind that you kind of just go at your own pace.

I would love to get these tapes but before spending money I thought I would stop and get some advice :)

HIBA, I strongly recommend you buy this dvd package! Give it a try... If you don't feel satisfied it comes with a money back guarentee.... although I'm sure once you try it out you'll keep it forever!

I honestly don't think you'd have a problem with this workout at all. The moves aren't particularly hard... but they do the trick. And there's always two girls doing an easier version of the moves for those who are at a lower level of fitness.
There's a man in a lot of the workouts who would be quite a bit older than most of us on here... maybe 60's or so... and he gets really into it.
The whole format of the dvds is fantastic as well... Unlike most workouts, there's a time bar along the bottom of the screen that tells you how long you have left in that section of the workout and how long you have left until the whole workout is complete. There's also an orange part in the bar in most workouts which is "turbo" where you push harder and faster than the rest of the workout, but it only lasts about 2 minutes at the most and afterwards there's a 30 second water break. But even in those more intense parts of the workouts, you can still edited the moves to your own level until you build your endurance to their level etc...

The package comes with great strength and toning workouts as well as the cardio. And they're all so much fun.

My last post I stated that I hadn't tried Ab Jam yet, and it inspired me to get up and do it. I loved it also.... It was 10 minutes of standing ab work and 10 minutes of floor ab work. I found it harder than the other workouts but mainly because my neck has a problem with crunches etc. but I still enjoyed it.

JSTECK,
Congradulations! I'm glad you like it! The fun doesn't stop there! All these workouts are great! Keep up the good work,

Hannah.

Today I did the Burn dvd which was about 20 minutes and the 20 minute Dvd.  I did these back to back.  I am only having a little bit of problem with a few moves  but most is really easy to understand and move on.  I love the bars at the bottom of the screenthat tell you where you are in the workout.  I had state that I have been really watching my calories intake for over 6 months now and walking/running with my two dogs  about 10 miles a week for the past two months.  I have lost 13 pounds since November.  Lately it seems I have been losing inches but I am hoping this program will help increase my weight lose.  It is really discouraging that you take the inititive to lose weight and eat right but it seems your efforts are worthless.

It should be the inches that really matter anyway... that's what really shows.... the number is just that.... a number.... when i'm happy with the way I look then I'm happy.... forget the number... its nice to see a decrease.... but remember you're replacing fat with muscle.... muscle weighs more than fat.... so if the scale isn't telling you what you want to hear, don't stress out or lapse ... keep pushing it... you will look fantastic!

:D  Hello and welcome to peacefuljoy27 & hiba!  I'm so happy to see new people here.  I have to be quick but wanted to drop in and say hi.  I'm down 18 pounds since 12/31/05 (despite the month off due to the ankle injury).  Suzy, the workout does work your stomach.  I've had 5 stomach surgeries (2 hernia repairs, 2 laparoscopies, and a c-section).  Nothing has ever produced results on my stomach like this (I thought my stomach was here to stay forever).  During the first 2 months I lost over 7 inches off my stomach.  My total inch loss to date is 27 and 1/4 inches.  I truly believe you won't regret purchasing this workout.  It works.  I just bought the new advanced workouts and they are kicking my tail.  Two of them are 50 minutes long (Cardio Party Mix 3 and Punch, Kick, & Jam); Fat Blaster is 30 minutes; and 3T Totally, Tubulur, Turbo is 30 minutes.  I just did the Punch, Kick, & Jam and Ab Jam.  Ouch, ouch, ouch but I LOVE it!!  :D  Have a great evening/night everyone.

Well, it all sounds great, so I have two questions:

Are they available for sale individually?  Do I have to buy the $200+  package deal that they feature on their website?  Do any retail stores carry them?

And what type of music exactly is it?  I saw hip hop mentioned somewhere and that, no offense, just isn't my cup of tea.

I am a 22-year old female, 5'3 and probably 140+ pounds though I can hide it pretty well i hope!

I just ordered TurboJam about a week ago and am still waiting for my DVDs.

My question is: I ONLY ordered the tapes and none of the extra equipment (bands, supplements, etc). Will this hinder my ability to lose weight on this program??

thanks so much!!

girlmeetscamera

ps: congrats to everyone who has had such wonderful results!!!!

I got my program for 59.99 from the web site.  I am not sure what package costs anywhere near $200 .  I got the basic package LEARn and Burn, 20 minute workout, turbo Sculpt, Cardio Party and Ab Jam diet info, tapemeasure, workout cards that explain the 11 core moves.  They aslo sent a free dvd which was an Ab DVD from another program.  They also offer the option to make three monthly payments.  I have seen on EBAy individaul DVDs if you only want indiviual titles.  Tey usually run from around $8.00 - $30.00.  The program will work well weather you have just the DVDs or the bands and supplements.  What i do is try it first and then as as you see if it fits your needs add on to the program.  I beleive someone asked about the music.  The music is defintely hip/hop dance, so I would not recommend if you do not like this kind of music.   This type of music really goes along with the music and gets you moving.  Hope this helps for anyone with questions

Are these the lastest DVDs available?  I knowI just started but I want to keep in mind what  is avaiable once I get to the advanced mode.  Are you using the bands or toning cords or what ever they are called.  Do they make a big difference to the regular workouts?  They seem like they would really help tone and lean you out.  wel let me know

Hello Hyacinth.  Yes, the music is hip hop as jsteck stated.  No, don't order it if this music is unappealing to you because that is the music for the basic, advanced, and max workouts.  Sorry.  :(

Welcome girlmeetscamera!!  :)  You don't need any additional equipment.  Weights are used in the Turbo Sculpt but there's 2 people at all times doing low impact (and no weights).  3 lb. weights are recommended to start.  However,  I started with 2 lb. weights because I was way out of shape.

Jsteck, yes there's additional workouts.  If you go to turbojam.com/party you will find the additional workouts.  Chalene suggests ordering them in the order listed on this site.  Do you have the Lower Body Jam and Cardio Party Mix 2 yet?  :)

"...Its addictive, up-tempo dance beats....combining the perfect mix of hip-shaking, urban funk with specially synched sound effects...."

Hmmm, sounds like house techno?  Would you say it's closer to techno or rap?  Hip hop very nearly equals rap, in my completely biased opinion (yes, I know, it's not), but I like pretty much all techno.

I checked around the site some more; my bad, it's a $220 -value-, but the actual price tag is $72.80.  Whew, that's a bit of a better fit for my bank account!

I've been keeping an eye on ebay, but the people there are all bidding the items up over that cost. O.o

However, I've found out that there is a half hour segment on channel 97 entitled 'Turbo Jam' tomorrow morning.  Hopefully that will be featuring one of the workouts, so I can get a preview before making a decision about purchasing. :)  I know there's a 7 day money back garauntee, but I'd rather avoid the hassle.

I think you may have gotten the money back guarrenntee  wrong.  If you are ordering from the web site you get a 30 day money back guarranntee.  In some cases you get a 60 day money back guaranttee if you upgrade to the next package.

It's entirely possible.  I don't pay much attention to that sort of thing because I don't like to bother with it -- I'd rather just be sure that it's going to work out (slight pun intended ;))

ok...

i'm gonna bite the bullet & buy it.  I'm 37 and have had 2 kids in 2 1/2 yrs.  My youngest is now almost 9 mo. old. I have not lost a  single pound and am breastfeeding.  So, now I'm at least 220lbs.  Very upsetting as I used  to be a size 10.  Now a size 20.  Husband still  loves me thank god! ha  I just don't  love myself at this point.  I have tried Pilates, and found it to be boring.  Plus,  I hate having to get down on the floor so much.  So,  I'm gonna try this one...and hope  for the best. I think  my little 2 yr old  will  love dancing  with  mommy.  I joined here so  I can post and keep myself motivated!

wish me luck. I'm off to order.

I'm with you, doodle.

I just took a look at the TK forums -- anything that uses the song 'Over the Rainbow' by a Hawaiin singer can't be all bad. ;)
