I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER.
I am also trying to get rid of the pudge on my tummy and peanut butter is loaded with fat. However, I do believe it is considered the "good" fat?
I only eat the Skippy Natural Peanut Butter because the ingredients are simple (Roasted Peanuts, Sugar, Palm Oil, Salt) although I am planning to buy the "truly" natural stuff (peanuts ONLY as the ingredients) when this one runs out.
So what's your input on peanut butter? Avoid if you are trying to lose fat?
Also, I've heard about PB2 (powered peanut butter from http://www.bellplantation.com/) with 75% less fat. I've heard it tastes just as great as normal peanut butter, but without the fat.
However, if PB really is "good" fat, should I stick with non-powered PB?

It's certainly possible to lose body fat while eating peanut butter. I did it, and so did lots of others, to my knowledge.
You need some fat in your diet. Just factor in the peanut butter and don't go over your target % for fat. I seem to remember that the palm oil ingredient isn't great - but if you're having a gram or two every now and then it shouldn't hurt.

My weakness is PB&J sandwiches... I have them almost daily when I visit my kids a few times a year. They probably think I live on them year round, but I don't keep the stuff at home!
Peanut butter and a good bread are great... the jam can hardly be called fruit. Oh, and I MUST enjoy it with a large glass of milk.

Peanut Butter is my cocaine....I MUST HAVE IT! I tried to go cold-turkey on it for a while, but it was just too hard to quit completely. I have it almost daily. If I eat it out of the jar, I will definitely overeat it....but I've found a nice balance just spreading it on something with a meal then putting it back right away.
It never seems to have any affect on my weight, especially considering I eat the all natural kind. As long as you don't consume the whole jar in one sitting, I'd say GO FOR IT !

If it wasn't good for you they'd have a 12-Step Program for it:
PB AA (Peanut Butter Addicts Anonymous)
