:question:Just curious what everyone's opinion on pre-made meals are? (Lean Cuisine, South Beach, Healthy Banquiet, Smart Choice, etc)

I eat a lot of lean cuisine meals for something quick while at work, but curious to find out just how good these really are for me? Is there possibly something else pre-made that would be better then LQ?

Any input would be great!

While you can’t beat home cooked in terms of creating a healthy meal, for a busy professional, which I guess I’ve become, I do rely on these microwave meals quite a bit.  I rotate between the Lean Cuisine, Smart Choice and Kashi meals.  They work great because they’re usually in the 270-350 calorie range which is about right for me as I’m trying to eat 5-6 meals in that range per day.

In my opinion, the Kashi meals have the best quality of ingredients and also contain a better portion of protein, which some of the other meals lack at times.  They also cost a little more but imo they are worth it, especially compared to eating out for lunch.

I buy Lean Cuisine occasionally. really the bad thing is they are packed with sodium for preservation...but personally i don't think having one occasionally is that bad.

I don't think frozen meals are that healthy, cause they usually have a ton of sodium!
I used to eat them alll time, but now I'm trying to eat less of them.

They worked fine for me when I was losing.

I cut them out once I had lost and was just looking to maintain body mass.

As a means to an end, they're probably fine. Just be sure you read the label and factor all the ingredients into your overall program.

I've heard a few people mention they liked to buy them at first to help them learn what a good portion size is..
