Um...probably just watch the quantity? Go for a thin crust...

If you do eat the crust, go for the thin crust.

| You could have fun and make your own :) If you don't want to make dough, pillsbury sells dough in a tube - you just spread it out, add sauce, veggies and cheese. Making your own gives you alot more control over the amount of fat and grease in your pizza. You also get to choose healthy options like low-fat cheese and low-sodium sauce. Going whole wheat with your crust is even better, because then you're getting fiber in addition! A fun thing to do with kids is to make individual pizzas and have a "pizza bar" kind of like a salad bar - they can add any toppings they want on their own pizza.

Try to avoid the greasy meats like pepperoni and sausage. Ham would be better... Hawaiian pizza, ham and pineapple... and you even get some fruit!
When you do have greasy pizza, it helps reduce the amount of fat you consume to take a napkin and absorb the grease you see sitting on top of it.

How much fat is reduced with the napkin dabbing thing?

| I've heard it can be up to 50 cal per slice for blotting the grease off with a napkin! Obviously, it depends on how much grease is on there to begin with!! Last edited on 24 April 2008 05:34 pm by Tratra

Sometimes you get a pizza without much to soak up. Other times it looks like you poured oil over it. Depends on the pizza.
