Ok, so, like alot of people here, I'm a little bit of a psycho about dieting, and all: I clicked on the Weight Loss Products link, and there is a 2 lb package of chocolate carmel slim body matrix on the way to my house :) I was happy to see it wasn't soy based, since I've been advised by my doctor to try to avoid soy (thyroid issues). Hopefully, it tastes better than the other protein-y shake mix I tried (had an aftertaste of cheese--not pleasant).

I decided awhile ago that I shouldn't have Nesquick any more (although, I change my mind a lot!!). And I love Ovaltine (but I have some doubts as to how good this really is for you, so, I'm not buying that either.

This became sort of rambling . . . but it's Friday, and I can't wait to get out of work!!

fat free chocolate pudding = Mmmmmm [drools]... 90 calories and.... fat free. :yumm:.

or you can go for the sugar free chocolate pudding... which is  just 60 calories, but does have some fat.

remember though, fat calories are harder to burn off.

Jello has a sugar free/fat free mix, you're supposed to add milk and cook to make the pudding but I just sprinkle the powder over fresh berries - very, very tasty.

Although all the sugar free/fat free things are good, many contain aspartame. Aspartame is very bad for you and can cause a ton of damage to your body. For example, aspartame is in, sugar free gum, sugar free jello, diet sodas. I would just stick to eating natural foods such as veggies, fruits, and meats. My favorite chocolate treat that I have everynight is this:

bodybuilding.com/store/opt/whey.html

I have tried rocky road, tropical punch, cookies and cream, and chocolate. All have the same nutritional values, but my favorite is rocky road. 1 scoop of that protein powder+8 oz skim milk=Delicious 200 calorie drink. This is some of the cheapest protein, and I would strongly recommend.

Sometimes when I am craving chocolate I'll have a small Detour (lower sugar) protein bar. It has 170cal. 3g sugar and 15gm protein. Not too bad. I am a gastric bypass patient so protein is real important to me. It taste sort of like a snicker bar and it satisfies my occasional desire for something sweet (chocolate).

Honestly, none of the "substitutes" offer me the taste I'm looking for.  So I keep small individually wrapped dark chocolate squares in my desk.  I let myself eat one a day, and at 50 calories a pop, they really don't mess up my diet too much.  50 calories...that's a few bites of pizza or a handful of chips.  I can give that up in exchange for my chocolate :D  I also enjoy hershey's whole bean chocolate bars - they're lower in added sugar, and since they're made from the whole bean, a square or two will give you almost 10% of your daily fiber.  Just make your sweet calories work for you - eat a little bit of what you reallllly love instead of denying yourself and then eating alot of something you kind of like to make up for it.

At the store I found no-calorie (probably about 4 per serving) chocolate sauce next to the ice cream sprinkles. It was really expensive, like $3.84 and it came in a jar. I don't remember the brand and I didn't check the nutrition label thoroughly, though.
