Hi!
Here is my new diet plan! I would absolutley love any feedback, negative or positive! Sorry for it being long
Age: 22
Female
Weight: 160 Goal: Size 5/6 pants!!!! I am now a 10
Height: 5'5 1/2
Eating Plan:
Breakfeast:
-1/2 Grapefruit
-1 whole grain toast with 1 tbsp Organic Peanut Butter/Jelly sometimes i will just have a hard boiled egg
Lunch:
- 1 or 1/2 cup of tuna
- 1 whole grain toast or a few crackers
Dinner:
- 2-4oz of any meat, either lunch meat or grilled chicken
-Cup of carrots
-Cup of string beans
I try my best to eat every two hours...I wont starve myself if im hungry ill have cantalupe, more grapefruit, an apple, grapes, any greens throughout the day.
For a dessert i'll have a half cup of vannila ice cream. And after a workout i will have a protein shake that has about...
260 cals. 3.5 g fat 41g protein and 8 carbs.
The whole day not including fruits and veggies I average about...
850 Cals 12-18g fat 85-95 g protein 60-70 g carbs
and water intake is about 125 OZ. if not more.
Workout:
30-60 minutes of cardio 5-6 times a day
20 minutes of all abs 5-6 tims a day
Legs one day...Arms the next. usually free weights, lunges, squats, and other machines at the gym. i dont spend to much doing weights but i know building muscle is key to losing weight!
Any comments on my new plan? Do u think it will work? is it too many carbs? I usually will go for one toast since each one has 18g carbs.
Is it enough protein? too much fat? should i up the workout?
Thanks for everyone who reads this and gives feedback!!! =)

Hi Shnuks,
I am actually going to tell you something you didn't mention. I think your plan has too few CALORIES.
If you figured your calorie total right, you are planning to eat about HALF as many as you ought You shouldn't eat less than around1600--that's how many your body needs just to function.
Click on this link and enter your info and you'll see what i mean: http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.php
Your food looks very healthy though.
It also looks like you are planning 4-8 hours of exercise every day. Is that right, or did you mean 5-6 a week? Cause I think you might kill yourself exercise that much every day, no joke. It is unrealistic.
Post back if you have any question, and I'm sure others will have more comments. Congratulations on making the decision to get in shape.

THANK YOU FOR THE RESPONSE!!! =)
lol whoops! i did mess up! i meant 5-6 times a week! a day would be CRAZY!!!
I thought 800 was 2 few.....i use to always do 1200..Maybe i should throw in more protein....or double dose on the shake to get more protein in it.
Thanks again =)

You're welcome. Yeah, 5-6 a week sounds much more reasonable :)
I also wanted to say you might want to give yourself a few more choices. Variety is the spice of life, and it gets kinda boring having the same things every sinlge day.
Some other good meals are oatmeal, salads, sub sandwiches, all kinds of veggies (green beans, broccoli, peas, carrots, corn..).
You can even have "bad" foods, sometimes, as long as you watch quantity...pasta...potaotes..I think quantity is really important, but nothing should be illegal to eat :)

It sounds really healthy. But, I would mix it up more and what about the carbs? I know most people avoid them when dieting. But, I don't think that is at all healthy. Also, if your going to work out in the evening maybe you want your meat for lunch.
I don't know if your a fish eater. I usually eat fish three or four times a week. It's very good for you and low in fat. Also, With meats, I would stay away from the red meats. Have chicken, lean pork, fish, turkey. If you do eat red meat, make it high grade. Like 90 o/o or sirloin.
Also, cereal is great, crackers, you need your grains... So, although it looks like a good plan, I think it needs more variety.
Did you all try the rmr or the calculators on this site. I have just started using them. Very helpful information.
I also, eat tortilla chips instead of potatoe chip- less fat. Theres all kinds of things you can do to trim the fat in your diet...go with low fat products or fat free. It's weird but some things I try that are low fat, I don't like. But, then I try the same thing in fat free and I like it- go figure. So, try, try, try, untill you find something you like that is less in fat. Myself I don't worry about calories so much now. But, I do keep a close eye on fat.
I do think it gets harder the closer you get to your goal. I am at 127lbs now and want to be 120lbs. It's been very hard getting those last few pounds off.
So, Good luck to you. Hope you reach your goals... bye

I am new to this site, but I have a huge aversion after 25 years of dieting, bulimia, dieting, hating myself......
SO now at 33 years whenever I see these "this is what I eat" threads with people looking for approval.
Listen, unless you are eating these foods because you love them anyway and plan to eat them for the rest of your life, then it is a fruitless endeavor.
You may loose weight, but the minute reality creeps in an you start eating just a little splurge here and there, or an extra piece of bread, or heaven forbid...real salad dressing at a restaurant instead of always asking " do you have anything fat free?"
Then five years down the road you are the same weight you were when you began the toast and grapefruit regime. I have done just about every diet, I have taken just about any supplement....and my savior was weight watchers and billy blanks.
WHY???? Because weight watchers does not tell you you CAN'T. Now, obviously there is restrictions by way of points, but if you want to spend 6 points on a snickers bar....go for it,...it makes you learn to make lifelong CHOICES instead of trying to widdle down to a pant size and OD on rolls one day because you have been depriving yourself.
I lost over 60 pounds on WW and have kept it off for 5 years. You learn to memorize what the point values are...it just changes your eating lifestlye.
Flex Points are a joke. I never took flex points....I mean, you are good all week, and then you have saved up a bunch of flex points so you can gorge at Golden Corral or CHinese Buffet-- you aren't gonna make it.
So, if you love yogurt and whole wheat toast ...great but if you are eating it to loose a bunch of weight you are bound to fall off the wagon.
Thanks for listening...it has been a life of searching for me, and I just want to share whenever I can

I totally agree with you hershekd! You have to like what you are eating. And your right about changing your lifestyle of eating. I use to always have Velveeta cheese as a standard cooking item in the house.... Now....Can't even remember the last time I bought it. But, I eat stuff now that I like just as well, it's just different than what I use to eat.
Congrats on weight watchers! I have never been able to stick to a diet plan. Just making it up as I go.
One of the things that has help me is to just eat healthy, instead of using the nasty word of dieting. I don't watch calories near as much as fat content, sodium, trans fats, cholesterol. That kind of thing. Like olive oil, is very healthy and very fating. So, I use it, but in moderation. Walnuts are another good example. Very healthy, but very fating. So, I limit those also.
I think there are foods out there that anyone would like that are healthy and would help someone to diet. You just need to explore and try lots of different things.
When I first started dieting. I use to eat taco salads on a daily basis. I loved them and they were filling without all the fat and calories. Now, I can't eat them cause of my cholesterol. So, I have had to find other things to eat instead.
I really think that if you just limit yourself to certain foods everyday, then your just setting yourself up for failure.
