Hey everyone, I'm Tiff a 20 year old college student.
I'm 5'4" and weigh 145 lbs., much of which is in my butt, hip, and thigh area.
I'm trying to get in shape before I start school at end of Aug. and have set a long term goal of loosing anywere from 10-20lbs total depending on how toned I look.
My short term goal for the rest of the summer vacation is to loose about 10 lbs and tone up.
I kinda know what I need to do for exercise but suggestions are welcome!
I need help with a simple, healthy eating plan and how many calories I should consume each day?
I'm thinking of going on slim fast or the Kellogg's Special K-cereal diet for about 2 or 3 weeks to jump start weight loss, have they worked for anyone?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hey Tiff,
I have been drinking at least one protien shake for a meal per day, for the last four months. It started as kind of a jump start, but I've kept it going. I'm a working mom and find it hard to make time to "eat right." I eat about 1800 calories per day and make sure I get plenty of fruits and veggies. I also do not eat much bread, because it is my weakness. Make sure you get enough protien, especially if you are working out. Check the label on the protien shake if thats the route you go, some are really carb heavy and light on the protien. I use Herbalife shakes. Hope this helps, keep us posted on your progress and good luck!

| Well, one great tip is to workout first thing in the morning and on an empty stomach. You will need to drink 16oz. of water beforehand for any dehydration in the morning. This has worked for me, maybe because I can always get my workout out of the way and not wait till late in the day, when I'm tired and decide to eventually skip my workout all together. Also, many have suggested that since you're working out coming off from an all night 'fast', meaning you have not eaten for the 8 hours because you were alseep, you automatically will burn fat storage because your body has used up most of its carb reserves from the previous day and now relies on fat to burn up. I know it can be a hassle to wake up early and do something, but set your alarm thrity minutes from the time you do plan to workout so you can be plenty awake.
