Hi down2me,
I eat a high-in-saturated-fat diet as do my children. We all have body mass indexes of 19 or 20.
If you are looking for some interesting information about permanent weight control without calorie restriction, I suggest you visit the westonaprice.org website. People who overly restrict fat intake to lose weight can develop vitamin deficiency problems over the long haul. One can also compromise ones immune system and alter ones physiology in a direction that makes weight maintainance difficult. Of course, this isn't true of everyone. You may do fine on a low-fat diet. However, if you get stuck at an unacceptably high weight, do explore other options.
