Most everyone has a digital camera of a phone with a camera. I read in Tim Ferris's book that taking a photo of what you eat has a psychological effect. After taking the photo and then looking at it you either eat less or are disgusted by it and toss any bad food. I have one fried who claims it works.
I did that in 2008 (wow 3 years ago but still feels like yesterday) and it did not stop me from eating between 3 and 5 kilograms of food every day. In fact I was using the photos to boast about my food "look at what I am eating". The extra photos made my diary/blog take longer to load and I had a few messages from readers who decided to stop reading it around that time.
I was already counting the calories in the food. The photos were not a replacement for that particular discipline.
I easily addict to new behaviours and I had a hard time letting go but ultimately felt great about leaving this in my past.
