Has anyone tried this diet??  I am curious to know what it would be like on ur body.. wether its just a quick fix or not.. and if it would really work..

The idea is to eat fruit and vegetables that will speed up ur metabolism.. there is a soup that you have to eat every day.. and the diet goes for seven days..

I have actually had a look at the diet and it looks like it would be rather hard, even if it was for only a week.. its very strict.. and requires lots and lots of water.. a bit of fruit .. a small amount of chicken and fish..

.. if u have already tried it , i would love to hear ur feedback about it.. thanks  :)

I think your misgivings just about sum it up...

Haven't tried it but did try lots of fad diets many years ago.  Funny how they're all the magic ingredient - one after the other!

Only one thing works for sure - knowing how much you need to eat and knowing that's what you're eating.

The rest is just flim-flam.   (IMO)

I know the diet, a girlfriend of mine did it, lost tons of weight in 2 weeks, was crazy tired for a month and gained back every single pound plus a few to spare really, really quickly.

It sounds like it may be kin to the TJ Miracle soup of long, long ago.  It has a website that was up within the last 2 years or so.  I have the recipe somewhere if anyone would like it.  The theory is that you could eat all you want of this soup to stave off hunger because the soup burned more calories digesting it than it contained.  After the first few days though you really don't want anymore soup!  It wouldn't be bad I guess if you just had it occasionally but it makes a huge pot so you would probably need to batch and freeze it.  The ingredients are very healthy though, IMO, so I don't think it would be harmful.  A dear friend of mines mother has eaten it for years.  She doesn't actually follow a diet plan with it but just loves the soup.

i think the biggest danger with it, is that it is a crash diet.. u only do it for seven days and then u stop.. i think what the biggest danger with it would be is the yo yo affect.. u diet, u lose weight, then after u gain it back, so u diet again.. so i think after u diet, on the times ur not using it, u have to really watch what ur eating.. u cant lose all the weight and then go back to eating junk.. that never works anyway..

i might even just make the soup and eat that for the health benefits .. i couldnt imagine life without a cup of tea in the mornings ..

Is this the cabbage soup diet?  Cos I know you can eat fish with that. If not it sounds very similar.

yes it is very similar to it.. i had a look and compared them.. there is added extras to the soup like brown rice .. it is also very similar to the weight watchers drop diet..

until the other day i never heard of any of these so i have learnt a lot doing a bit of research ..

am still looking for someone to say its successful tho ..  i know someones posted about someone losing weight and gaining it all back.. but did they go back to eating the way they did BEFORE they did the diet?? and u are only meant to do it for SEVEN days a time.. not forteen days.. that would be dangerous i would think..

so yeah.. interesting.. thanks to those that read and answered :)

You are right, I have never heard of anyone that has lost weight and kept it off doing this sort of diet.  Maybe it would be good if you wanted a special weekend away.

or.. if u were getting married.. then after ur married i guess it doesnt matter *shrugs* .. (i am only kidding) but on a serious note.. i am going to try the soup tonight.. cant hurt .. not that i think i am going to lose weight that way.. thats not my intention.. i am losing inches not weight by doing what i am doing.. which is eating healthy and excercising (deliberate and incidental )  i feel much bettre than i did a few weeks ago and i know i am healthier so the weightloss will do its own thing and take care of itself..  besides, its taken me two years to put on the extra kilos.. so what if it takes me a year to get it off..  a quick fix is definately not an option i would like to try ..
