On the one hand it isn't mentioned in Eat To Live.
But he
does
use it in a recipe in another of his books (Disease Proof Your Child). The recipe is also posted on his blog:

So yes, I think that it is approved
in small amounts
It obviously isn't as nutrient-dense as green and non-starchy vegetables, fruits, legumes so don't make it a substantial part of your intake.
