Current weight: 146 lbs
Day 44: November 11th, 2009
8 glasses of water
1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with 10 oz Apple Juice (120 cal)
1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with 10 oz Apple Juice (120 cal)
1 Balance Bar (yogurt honey peanut)(200 cal)
Lunch at Real Food Daily:
"Thanksgiving Teaser": RFD's famous faux turkey breast, sautéed greens,
mashed potatoes, corn-sage stuffing, golden gravy, mashed yams, cranberry sauce (all vegan, all organic, and way too expensive)(guess: 1500 calories)
I didn't eat all of that lunch at once. Saved leftovers for later.
Supplements: 1 B complex, 5 enzyme caps, 4 citrucel fiber caps
Exercise: 90 minutes walking
Approximate total caloric consumption: 1940 calories
Note: I achieved one milestone yesterday and now: We are on Page 2! I will try to think of something new to mix things up. One thing I've introduced recently is taking enzyme tablets with all cooked or processed meals (yes, I take 'em with me into the restaurant too). I will also try to finish up the "greener grasses" powder that I have - mix it into my water.
I am curious to know what effect 10 consecutive days of exercise will have on my weight loss. I've been tired the past couple nights (finally collapsed and slept 12 hrs yesterday), but I've grown to like my walks quite a bit and will resume tonight. A couple things that I credit for this:
1.) Using the right shoes!!! Before, I had to wrap my ankles securely before each walk otherwise the Adidas running shoes would cause gory blisters and red drenched socks. A bit of a chore wrapping and unwrapping my feet. Now I use these beige high top boots by Oakley that have been in my closet for a couple years, totally unused. My ankles are completely secure (and feel bullet proof). They are the same ones that the military special forces use in Iraq. They are not ideal for jogging or running though. For hiking or walking especially on concrete or asphalt, they're perfect! For those of you local to LA, my route is simple: Ventura Blvd (from Laurel Canyon to Van Nuys, and sometimes Sepulveda, then back). Sometimes I go the other way (from Laurel Canyon to Universal City (where Conan O'Brien tapes his show and where the Red Line subway station's at). I prefer to walk at night due to air quality.
2.) A fresh selection of music. My batteries died a couple weeks ago, and I keep forgetting to buy the AAA batteries needed for my FM/MP3 Player (Creative Zen Nano). I also have an iPod but I hate it (I don't like their proprietary software). I tune into either NPR or KCRW 89.9 (Los Angeles). KCRW's music is great on Saturday and Sunday, but not so good on weeknights. But then I remembered: I did install a 4GB memory card into my Blackberry Curve mobile phone. I had loaded a ton of my favorite tunes long ago and it definitely makes a big difference. Makes a 2 hour walk go by so fast: A really wild mix of tunes: Placebo, In The Nursery, KMFDM, Tim Skold, Joe Cocker (doing a cover of Leonard Cohen), Afghan Whigs, Twilight Singers, Hans Zimmer, VNV Nation, AFI, Killers, Silversun Pickups, L'ame Immortelle, Dope Stars, My Chemical Romance, Bic Runga, Circa Survive, UNKLE, Jesus on Extasy, Skinny Puppy, John Murphy, Randy Edelman, Emilie Autumn, The Blue Foundation, Tegan & Sara, Michael Franti, Taty, and it goes on forever.

Note: my car died today. "luckily" it was in my parking spot at home, so I didn't call AAA. I can't afford the diagnostics or whatever the repairs might be. I can get by without the POS for a while... hmm. life will be lonely, I think. but I can just pretend I'm in some Wong Kar Wei flick. I'll navigate the city via foot, via subway and the rapid transit or dash shuttles.
