I had a diary a long time ago, not sure what good it did for me but I might as well try again.
In the pat 15 months I have gained 15lbs and I am mad about it. I have had a problem with my weight for the past 10 years when one day it seemed I just started gaining and gaining and it got harder and harder to lose. I go through phases where the weight will seem to fall off and other times it is stuck on permenantly and all I do is gain despite no changes in my diet or exercise and I have the food diaries to prove it. I had my thyroid checked approx 8 yrs ago and they said it was fine and I just needed to on a diet.
So about me. I am 28 yrs old, 5'6" and this morning weighed 162.5 I have spent many years learning about nutrition and understand the concept of healthy foods, refined starches, calories and such. I don't believe in doing wonky things like "zig zagging" or fasting b/c they are not a lifestyle change. Calorie counting is low on my list as well b/c I don't want to be chained to a book. I want to eat 3 meals a day of healthy foods and lose weight; sounds so easy.
For tracking purposes I am going to add that starting June 16th I started taking Flovent, a aerosol steriod for asthma and I have gained approx 3lbs since then. There is some talk that it can cause weight gain but not much since is inhaled and stays mainly in the lungs. I have also experienced headaches, hoarsness, fatigue and leg cramps since taking it. I have an appt on Monday to discuss this with my doctor. I hate being a whiner.
I am not sure how much I will use this diary or what I will put in it but for today:
Breakfast
2 Eggs - 140
1 Cup brown rice - 160
1 tbsp sugar free syrup - 45
Coffee - 45
Vitamins
Lunch
Office Potluck I am just going to taste a bit of everything (maybe) and count it as 800 calories b/c who can figure that out.
Edit: Ok, I need to rant about potlucks and how I hate them.
First annoyance: 15 people bring something and 40 people feel entitled to eat. What happend to potluck etiquette? People see food sitting out and they are like vulchers on road kill.
Second: When you come to a putluck and it is obvious that not a lot of folks contributed b/c they believe in a free lunch, dont heap your plate till it folds on you! SAMPLE and save some for everyone else who didnt contribute. Phooey!
Third: When contributing to a potluck, don't just go out and buy a box of cookies or a pie. Put some effort into it...if it was a desert buffet we would have told you!
Ok. I am still annoyed
So b/c everyone brought some sort of desert i am going to up my lunch calories to 1000 b/c even though I sampled...I am sure it was high calorie stuff.
Dinner: Tummy ache from junk food. Sweet Potato with brown sugar - 115
Total: 1505 for the day...I wonder how accurate that is.
No exercise yesterday.

I'll see your rant and raise you a gripe!
Why do offices even have these things? My last big office, (it was in the Pentagon so it was huge) had a couple of women who were the self-appointed pot-luck police -- telling everyone what to bring -- and making new people cry over Bringing The Wrong Things.
I rebelled by opting out of the whole deal. At that point in time I weighed 110 pounds and kept it that way by having yogurt for lunch every day. The big dinners messed up my diet and also made me so sleepy I could barely work in the afternoon.

A new day!
For the entire week I set my alarm clock early to get up and do a 20min morning yoga routine I bought. And for the entire week the bed as won the battle of wills. I really need to stretch more...at 28 I should be able to touch my toes! I get so stiff sometimes it takes a mental effort to walk and I constantly have pain in my legs.
So this morning I came in at 161.6lbs. Down from yesterday but probably normal fluctation. I was only weighing in 1x a week but I found that if I didn't weigh I had the mentality that I wasn't accountable for that day. So I guess this diary will help in that aspect of recording my weight.
This morning I bought breafast tacos for my section for my 10 yr aniversary in the military :) Downhill from here ! Now that I think about, they should have bought them for me! I guess cause I got the pay raise it's on me.
So food for the day:
Breakfast
2 Breakfast Taco's (Tortilla, egg, bacon, whatever lube they use) Estimate: 550
Coffee fixin's: 35
Lunch
Salad w/ fixin's: 300
Apple - 175 gms (does that count the core?) 95
To be continued...
Afternoon update: Doing really well on food: not hungry in the least despite wicked temptation. I got suckered into doing the offices "fat" run and had to go to Sam's Club and buy $700 worth of soda, candy, pastries and chips. I really hate having that thing in the office b/c some days I just CAN'T resist. The good thing was I hand to push around a wicked heavy flatbed cart around the store and to my car, load the car and unload the car and then stock the shelves. I really broke a sweat...and now paying for it with a damp sports bra in the A/C
I have to work late today, some Sexual Assault Prevention class...totally doesn't work. There are some seriously horny perves who take their "jokes" to far and are quite distasteful. I have some really high tolerance to this but sometimes....arghh!
Looking into new alarm clocks too! Saw one that shakes the bed and another you have to chase. I think I will just start with putting mine across the room for now and save some money.
To be continued...

So I am home...this is one of my major problem areas. I lose complete motivation when I walk in the front door. Almost everyday I walk in, put on shorts and take an hour nap. I do it even if I am not tired b/c I think I need it. There are things I could be doing that is for sure...exercise...clean...practice the piano for my next lesson.
I need to find a way to want or not mind doing something...a motivator.
Well for now dinner has been:
Mac n Cheese w/ lite spam - 500
Grand total - 1495 for the day and I won't touch another thing! Thankfully bed is in just over 2 hrs b/c I WILL get up and do yoga tomorrow.
I am in desperate need of a shower...sticky from sweating carrying the "junk" up to the second floor of the office and then sitting in a/c afterwards for 4 more hours. A bit ripe I must stay so. After than hopefully I will be refreshed and will tackle the piano books.

I feel awesome today! I slept so well that I nearly gave myself a heart attack at 5:10 this morning and went to kick my hubby and he was already gone to work! I slept so well I didn't even hear a peep out of him when he snuck out
But backing up for a second...you did read right 5:10 AM! I actually got up early! I jumped on the scale real quick and it said 161.2lbs I am glad it is going down but I still can't believe that I gained weight SO quickly these past few weeks. So the better part of the day...I did a 28 min yoga routine and 10 push-ups (cheaters) with the perfect push-ups.
The yoga felt really nice; only problem was it didn't focus on the hips as much as I would have liked. There are 4 other routines to try though. I suppose I feel more limber this morning but it is hard to tell since my pants are so tight lol.
So the Plan for the day:
Breakfast:
2 Sausage/egg/tortilla tacos from yesterday (these look bigger so upping) - 600
Coffee w/ fixin's - 35
Lunch:
Pre-packaged Lite Ceasar salad (whole bag) - 270
Time for 2nd cup of coffee and then it is death by powerpoint!

Ok, so something I have been wanting to do for a long time...BMR testing. I hear horror stories about how inaccurate the standard formulas can be and I certainly feel I might be "lazier" than most.
I looked into it last year in Dec and called to make an appt and the guy said he had to calibrate his machine and would get back with me...he never did despite me calling back. The test was $90.
So now I found another one but it is $145!
I know that even though you have normal thyroid levels, you can still have a lower BMR than the "average" calculation.
Has anyone else had this test done? Is it worth the cash?

So work was totally LAME yesterday afternoon. Nothing to do but watch the clock and that makes it go sllooowwwweeeeeerrrrrrr. I finally got home and was starving I thought I was going to turn evil ! So:
Snack:
Bowl of Special K w/ skim milk - 180
So I was doing really good on calories until Hubby came home with a full blown Carmel Frapaccino w/ whipping cream I was really mad b/c he has done this before and I tell him that they make me fat and I dont want to eat them...but he is always like " you deserve it" PHOOEY! So I managed a bout 1/3 of it before I chucked it.
Starbucks = 130
That really put me in a bad mood for the rest of the night. Dinner was not much better, pigged out I was so hungry again!
Dinner:
Rice - 325
Lite Spam - 150
Bit o butter - 25
That is a grand total of 1700 calories for the day I would have been fine if hadn't had that starbucks!
I went to bed early...and accomplished nothing for the day.

Today is SATURDAY! Woot! Ok, I totally have nothing planned that is fun...just dishes and maybe some piano time...
I started taking piano lessons about 4 months ago and really enjoyed it but I find practicing such a drag! I hate to spend $40 an hour to have some guy listen to me suck!
Hubby is still sleeping and it is nearly 11am. That will give me a chance to pay the bills and maybe get some yoga in....OMG I pulled a butt muscle yesterday!
Maybe I will treat myself to a trip to the goodwill and see if there are any treasures
Breakfast:
Coffee w/ fixin's - 15
Breakfast Burrito (I am getting sick of these) - 300
The plan is to only eat when I am hungry and drink LOTS of water. Things usually go downhill for me on weekends w/ eating out so we will see what happens. I dont think I have ever seen the scale go down on a monday!

Well...I think I am stressed. Usually I do really well under stress but this must be a different kind of stress b/c today around 1pm I started to feel ubber cranky...poor hubby. I took a nap and feel much better.
Lunch was at Chipolte (they aren't cheap on calories)
Burrito Bowl w/ chicken, rice, black beans, corn salsa - 520
2 Reeses pieces - 40
So that so far is what...875 for the day ...but now hubby wants to go to Texas Road house for dinner...ayyeeeyiiii Dinner rolls, meat and potatos oh my! This just might have to be a moderately high calorie day. I will try to be conservative on proportions though and keep it under 1K...well that is if I can find nutrition info on these guys.

I am back from dinner and movie! so dinner is just not the same when you go out to eat and you can't splurge...what is the point of going out?
Dinner:
1 Roll - 227
Salad w/ no dressing (lame) - 121
Sirloin 6oz - 387
Veggies - 90
That puts me at a grand total of 1700 for the day - not bad for a weekend. Sucks though b/c I am hungry again. That is weird since 3 hrs ago I was stuffed!
We saw District 9, it was OK, I wouldn't watch it again though even if it were on TV.
Well, now to stay strong and not eat anymore tonight. I think I will make some tea (even though it is 91 outside) and brush my teeth and read a book in bed...that aught to fix me lol.

Read a book last night, that always distracts me from hunger
Up early this Sunday morning and saw I had some overripe bananas and decided to make banana waffles. The mix said 140 calories for 1/3 of a cup eek! I mixed everything together and it came out to 907 calories for the entire batch. I counted the waffles I made and then divided that number by total calories to the calories per waffle...result: 70 calories per waffle...I ate half of them so ...
Breakfast:
Coffee w/ fixin's - 10
Waffles (7 hey they were small!) - 490
Snack:
Peanuts - 60
Well, it is almost 1pm and I am starving again but can't figure out what I want...pickings are slim and hubby and I need to shop after he gets back from the beauty salon
We have been busy though, put in 2 new lights in the kitchen to replace the ghetto fab ones the builders put in. We are getting ready to rent the place out next year so trying to perk things up a bit without going overboard.
So the plan for the rest of the day...I think I am going to make salmon for dinner w/ spinach. Try to recreate a marvelous concoction I had in santa fe at xmas. I NEED TO PRACTICE MY PIANO...I have a lesson coming up this week and I have put in a grand total of 1.5 hrs No wonder why I suck lol.
I will ck in later to see how the calories went!

OK so not so great on calories today...
lunch:
Sandwich - 375
Snack:
Triscuits - 300
Dinner:
Ramen-500
Ice Cream - 140
AACCCKK 1875 for the day! I think that is a break even number for me...every calculator gives me a different number so who blippin' knows
So my downfall for the day? Grocery shopping. Even though I didn't buy ubber bad stuff, I have extra stuff in the house to snack on now and that I do!
Hubby is having a "bros before hos" night lol. We have a theater that is a dinner and movie thing where you order dinner and tonight they are showing Conan...now that is a piece of man meat if I say so I opted out on going for three reasons 1) I am still kinda tired oddly 2) they only have burgers and fries sort of thing 3) I wouldn't get home till after 10pm and that is non conducive to a 5:15AM yoga routine. I would have really have liked to go though if it had been earlier in the day so I could "save" myself some calories and be full the rest of the day from the junk.
But tonight I have to have a heart to heart with myself on this whole piano thing. I spent $1500+ so far on piano, music and lessons and that is a lot since hubby and I are going on a REALLY expensive vacation in Oct. Do I really have $80 a month to spend on this? How much do I enjoy learning...I love to play...when I can play...I just don't like getting to that part. I wish I could find some sweet grandma who didn't have a cliental list up the wazoo and you have to fight to get a lesson in.
I am so glad I don't have kids...life is hard enough as it is! I am exhausted.
So tomorrow I am going to weigh in and see if I was able to avoid damage this weekend...Wed will be 1 wk and we will see what happens.

Ugh, I am tired!
Last night I did play my piano for 45 min :) I really enjoy it, it is just getting to the bench that kills. I didn't have anything else to eat though! I couldn't sleep last night till about 11pm I got a phone call around 3:30am from work about an "issue" which of course was pure stupidity.
So in the end, the alarm went off WAY too early at 5:10 pm and I didn't manage to drag myself out of bed till 5:35 am when hubby "cut" one as he walked by and nearly dropped me to the floor...ugh, men! But I got up! Jumped on the scale hopping for a loss but came up at 161.6 again...same as friday but my plumbing feels a bit off, probably from not drinking enough water this weekend (I do better at work) so maybe with lots of water and some "encouragement aka Philips" tomorrow will be better! So I am at work and on my 2nd cup of coffee and my email is down *sigh* How am I to work in these conditions lol.
Did 20 min of yoga this morning! Plan on running this afternoon, brought my gym clothes.
Food so far and planned:
Breakfast:
2 Eggs - 140
1 Cup brown rice - 160
Sugar free syrup - 35
Coffee w/ fixin's - 50
Snack:
Big banana - 140
Lunch:
Salad - 250

So it is the end of another day...a day filled with stupid people. People are such pigs when they think someone else will clean up after them. The annoyance for today was when I went into the breakroom and saw empty soda boxes on the floor and as I was breaking them down to throw out I saw there was still a crockpot full of scalloped potatoes in the corner from last week Disgusting! they will just let it sit there till "someone else" cleans it up. Frickin' lame! As i restocked the fridge with sodas I closed the door and noticed that someone had crossed out my price list and written "FREE" on it. WTF!!! You should have seen the steam I mean, they bitch when there isn't food but they have no qualms stealing...where do they think the money comes from to restock it for everyone. Screw them, let them cry.
I also had my appt with the asthma doc and she gave me the inhaler they give to the basic trainees b/c it has "no" side effects and you only have to use it one. They do that b/c they are so busy....and what am I, chop suey
I came home with the intention of running right away but was exhausted from my 3:30AM wake up call...which as I confirmed was pure stupidity on the other end. I napped and then jumped on the treadmill only to my dismay have my lungs feel like when I took a breath in, the air was ripping my lungs out. I hope this new inhaler doesn't do that. I did manage 136 calories in 21 min with lots of walking
I never got around to my banana but had crackers instead so the cals are the same.
Dinner:
Salmon/spinach/wonton wraps w/ condiments : 250
Rice w/ veggies/seasoning 250
So that is a total of: 1275 - 136 exercise Yeah me...I am really craving a sweet though right now. it is still early too, 7pm so I must have strength!

I forgot to mention yesterday that I may have OD'd on the Philips even though I took the recommend dose b/c holy crow I burned some calories running the "library" and back like 6 times yesterday...I am surprised my eyes weren't brown I was so full of "it" lol I also managed to not have anything else to eat last night, brushed my teeth and curled up with my bookd and that was that.
So today good news! Scale said 160.4 ! I really was full of "it" lol.
I had to come into work early this morning, 0600 for a briefing, lame.
I brought my gym clothes today and going to try out this new thing at the gym that looks like a cross btwn a stair stepper and eliptcal.
Food so far and planned:
Banana - 100
Coffee w/ fixin's - 50
Oatmeal - 140
Yogurt - 50
Lunch:
Marie Calenders frozen meal- 410
Snack:
Apple - 95
To be continued...

Well, I stuck to all the food listed above for work and went to the gym and tried out the new machine! it SUCKED lol. I lasted a whole 8 min! It is like a stair stepper but taking stairs 3 at a time with the arms included and it doesn't let you cheat and take baby steps (were is the pain icon?) I got off after the 8 min and 60 calories and jumped on the treadmill and walked for 15 min for an additional 90 calories and then did some strength stuff that probably burned 20 calories...so a total of 170...good grief I used to do so much more.
Well, I had to stop at Walmart for some green onions for a recipe I wanted to try and go figure they didn't have any...lame. I needed raisins and sugar free syrup and got sucked into buying a tin of almond rocca
I got home tried to take a nap but the cat said that was unacceptable, which he is right. Humph. I started to make this pasta salad from a recipe off of Womens Health Mag website. it is shrimp with peas pasta salad. Well, it is a horror story after that. #1 totally not low calorie; 1 serving is approx 600 calories! #2 It was totally bland #3 I opened the fresh shrimp I bought on Sunday and it smelled wonky but I ate 5 or so pieces before I decided that the smell was really really wonky. I had my hubby smell it when he got home and it hit his gag reflex like no other and he was #%@&!! He grabbed the receipt and he is at the store right now. I REALLY hope I don't get sick
So calories post work:
Almond Rocca: 200
Salad (minus shrimp): 360 for pasta/120 for sesame oil/60 for veggies/60 for sour cream - 600
So for the day: 1645 w/ -170 at the gym. Probably could have lived without the rocca....or not...
Well, it is only 6pm...kinda early to pull my brush teeth and read a book in bed tactic. I still need to practice my piano but I have emailed my teacher 2x now for a new day and time and he hasn't gotten back to me. When I have emailed him before, I have an answer in like 30 min. I wonder if this is a polite brush off? Maybe he doesn't think I am serious enough for $40 an hour lessons. I feel awkward calling him b/c he has my number and is usually really good about calling too...oh well, we will see!
School starts tomorrow! The last day of class is the day I start leave to go on vacation so that is 9 wks and counting. Nothing like a Grad level term paper due to make the time pass

Well, I survived the night after the shrimp incident but I keep smelling it even today and I gag!
Well the good news for the day...I weighed in at 160.0 this morning! WOOT! I don't know how much I have lost thoug exactly b/c when I started last Wed I was 162.5 but dropped a pound the next day to 161.6; so I am thinking that Wed might have been a fluctuation day. Next weeks results should give me a better idea of how much I am losing at my current calories. Which reminds me I need to see what my average was...
Wed: 1505
Thur: 1495
Fri: 1700
Sat: 1700
Sun: 1875
Mon: 1245
Tues: 1645
Average: 1595
Next week I will be able to see what my calories deficit is when I don't have some wonky numbers going on.
No Yoga today and class tonight so no exercise.
So today so far and planned:
Breakfast:
Coffee w/ fixin's - 70 (3 cups today)
2 eggs/ 1 cup rice/ syrup - 320
Snack:
Peach - 60
Peanuts - 95
Lunch:
Homemade lentil soup - 275 (guess)

Last night was the first night of classes and so I didn't get around to writing in here last night.
Dinner:
2 servings Ronzonni Pasta w/ sauce and cheese- 400
3 pieces Almond Rocca - 200
After Class snack:
Cereal w/ milk - 175
Total for the day: 1595
I wonder how accurate my prediction of Lentil soup is.
No exercise.

Ok, so I had a breakdown after some serious retardiness at work and I really wanted a filling HOT meal for a change. So....
Lunch:
Steamed Rice 2 cups (Ok, here it gets tough. Why is there a calorie difference for Long gran and medium grain rice by 30 calories per cup? Sorry I didn't pack a ruler when I bought my lunch ) - Estimate 400
Chicken w/ veggies (and a lot of oil) - 300
I will have my salad for dinner if I am hungry. Maybe I can get away with something smaller...but 240 is pretty low already.
Oh, I also had an:
Almond Rocca: 70

Well, things didn't work out for me so well. I came home and fell asleep
Hubby ate my salad so I had a sandwhich for the same calories...
I then attacked the almond rocca and had 4 pieces - 270
It was really weird with the rocca though, I wanted one so bad that my mouth was watering...I means straight up drooling! But after I had a few pieces the craving was completely gone and I haven't thought of it since. Explain that
Hubby is out again with his friends. As you can probably tell, I don't have any friends to go out with. Maybe I am just too weird b/c I am around people all day and no one has ever taken an interest in my nor I found anyone I feel like I could hang around with and not be bored or annoyed. I think it is starting to get to me though, I have been feeling very lonely lately and I hope that doesn't undermine my weight loss efforts.
But tomorrow is the first weigh-in for the work challange. Not sure how I am going to handle the whole clothes thing. It is going to make the numbers go a bit wonky. I will figure something out.
Oh, and my piano teacher finally got back to me on the 3rd try and I have a lesson on monday! must crack down and tickle some ivory soon lol.
Calories for the day: Looks like about 1700. A bit high but I think I am still within my "average" for last week of 1595.
Hubby is supposed to take me out to lunch tomorrow. Not sure what I am going to do.

Another day and I was so tired this morning! I slept an extra hour and called into work that I would be late. Finally got in around 8pm.
Weigh in this morning was 160.2. Not sure why it was up, guess it was the heavier food at lunch.
Breakfast:
Toaster sausage/cheese thing: 160
Coffee w/ fixin's: 30
Lunch:
Hubby is taking me out so this could get interesting.

Totally not hungry today and everything aches...I don't even want to go out to lunch with hubs. I wish I could get out afterwards but I think we have a staff meeting at 1:30
Got a new Visa that promised 0% Interest for 1 yr on balance transfers. I got it so could transfer our cruise balance off of our other card and hack away at it at 0%. Well, I got the card and they say I only qualify for a $5000 limit on the card, WTF? I have perfect credit, secure jobs for both hubby and me...I guess they are scared w/ all the defaults going on. But what am I going to do with a $5000 credit limit when I have a $23,000 cruise? It isn't worth my time and I told them that and so they are goint "see" what they can for me. Phooey.

Ok, so scrap the past two days! Friday I estimate had around 3,000 calories and on Sat I figure there were somewhere around 4,000. Just pure high calorie junk and constant nibbling. I think I did it b/c on Friday I had thrown out my back to the point of tears and i spent till today lying on my stomach in bed Hubby tried to cheer me up with all sorts of goodies.
i got on the scale this morning and it said 164 which I know is just bloat but I am sure it is going take me another week to get down to were I was.
A/c is broken again and it is wicked hot in here too.

Well, here it is a few days later and I completely fell off the bandwagon these past 5 days.
This mornings weigh in was 162.8 That is the same as 2 wks ago. I really piged out though as I was confined to the home/bed b/c I threw out my back and could barely move.
This morning I am going to try and get back on track. I am waiting to eat breakfast till I am truely hungry. I had some calories in my coffee though so that should kick start my metabolism for the day.
Hopefully tomorrow I will have a drop when all the junk is processed.

This morning I weighed in at 162.8 so no change which I find interesting as I didn't eat that much.
1 Yogurt - 50
Apple - 95
Salad - 240
Brat - 250
Rice - 160
Cereal - 225
That is about 1025 calories for the whole day and I wasn't really hungry till after class at 10pm.
Today is another story though, woke up HUNGRY! Ran out of time in the house since hubby forgot to take out the trash and I needed gas on the way to work.
Breakfast:
Mangers special: 2 eggs/2 toast w/ butter/1 hashbrown/1 sausage patty - 590 calories
Lunch:
Salad- 240 ( I will eat this when I am truely hungry and not just b/c I want to take lunch)
Exercise today is swimming. I had the horrid experience of swimsuite shopping yesterday. I went to our local sporting store b/c I had no intention of buying something fashionable. I found a Speedo for $40 but had no clue on size???!?? I went with 1 size bigger than my pant size (12) and didnt even bother to try it on (couldnt face myself). Tried it on when I got hime and it is T I G H T! I definitely could have done with a 14 I can get into it but it squeezes my thighs a bit so they bulge out, thank goodness for board shorts! WHEN I lose weight it should fit a lot better when not so much fabric is needed to cover my tush.
Boss's B-day today and they are having cake at 10am...I will resist. Hopefully it is the kind with the nasty frosting... or chocolate...I hate chocolate cake.

Ok, so had a splurge...
Cake : 150
Still haven't eaten my salad yet. I am not exactly hungry but my tummy is starting to hurt from my morning pain meds. I guess that means they are still working...sort of...my back is hurting right now.
Forgot to mention that I bought a heart rate monitor (again, 3x). First time I bought one (about 7 yrs ago) I wasn't really serious, 2nd one was a wrist only one and as soon as I started sweating it couldn't read my HR and so I have gone back to the chest strap one and they have a cool new website on Polaris where it can set up training programs for you based on HR zone training. That is one thing I have never tried and so I will give it a go. I read alot that people work out too hard and that is why they don't lose weight. It is going to take some tweaking b/c I think I run a bit high on the Max rate...or I am just out of shape .
So I am at 980 calories so far...looks like a moderate dinner is in store for me...wonder what it will be.

I feel GREAT! Our swimming was cancelled but I did get on the treadmill and use my new HR monitor and it was fun I was so engrossed in my HR I barely noticed the time. I hit 75% of my MHR at like 4.2 mph lol....I need to get up to at least 5.3 mph so I can run a 15:00 min 1 1/2 mile in my aerobic zone and not the "red line" zone.
I bought a Polar Hr monitor and they have a cool site were you can log your summary for each run and then it charts it for you. If I had a PC i could upload it directly from the watch
I also did some pushups with the Perfect Push-up I did like 10 and I can barely type lol!
But I did 35 min on the treadmill/2.3 miles/363 calories
Hubby is making dinner and it is popping so it must be in grease Guess I will really have to exercise portion control to stay under my 500 calorie limit for the rest of the day.

So far it has been a good morning. We had a lovely storm last night that kept me up for a bit but thank goodness for RAIN!
Morning weigh in was 161.8. I wonder how I lost those 2lbs last week; maybe it is hormones working against me this week.
So dinner was pan friend porkchops, veggies and couscous - 565
Total: 1545 for the day.
Today we have a going away luncheon, hopefully they have an online menu so I can scope out something good.
So far today (I was hungry)!
Breakfast:
Coffee w/ fixin's - 50
2 Eggs/Rice (extra)/syrup- 400

This morning's weigh in was 161.4 That is a loss since Friday and a rare drop over the weekend!
Friday was OK, I had my luncheon for work and while I had the best intentions I ate everything on my plate...lucky for me I ordered ala carte so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. For dinner I snacked on some rice and beans that hubby brought home from a restuarant.
Over the weekend I got in a good walk, 3 miles on Sat morning. We ate out twice which isn't bad for us. The rest of the meals were at home and since my weight went down, I guess they weren't too bad either.
I wonder if I can get back down to 160 by Friday ? ! ? ! I am really looking forward to this holiday weekend Hubby has to work though all weekend so that means we wont be going out very much and I will be left to my own devices and it won't be food.
Breakfast:
2 Eggs/1 Cup rice/Sugar free syrup - 375
Coffee w/ fixin's - 50
Lunch:
Leftovers from Thursday (hope they are still good) - Porkchop/couscous/veggies - 565

So yesterday I was BUSHED! I didnt eat anything extra at work and ran to my piano lesson. Hubby called and said the chicken was still frozen solid and what I wanted to do about it. I said pick up a take-n-bake pizza. We got our fav which is a thin crust/garlic/olive oil/feta/chicken/sun dried tomatos/bacon/spinach. He also "surprised" me with bread sticks We ate everything and I still didn't feel full...must have been too tired to notice. Anyway, I was comatose by 7:45.
-------------
Up this morning before the alarm and felt great and craving juice ???? Jumped on the scale expecting unpleasantness from the pizza but came up at 160.8
Made a chocolate whey protien smoothie w/ frozen fruit to kill my craving for juice and was out the door...almost on time...had to clean up some ants that decided to move into a cabinet. Darn heat. Had my coffee at work and a breakfast taco (potato/egg) and then decided to scrub the breakroom floor...I actually worked up a sweat doing it I am still sipping on my chocolate shake, not really hungry but it tastes good.
Lunch today is a frozen "healthy" meal.
Off to look busy for awhile...can't wait for the weekend and need to do some homework...booo.

I'm up....I think
Yesterday was a good day...got on the treadmill for 2.2 miles/37 min/ 308 calories. For dinner I made terriyaki chicken with veggies/rice. It was really good...I found a dab of icecream in the freezer and finished it off as well. I was hungry by the time I headed to bed so it must have been about right.
___________
This morning I am tired! Or Lazy....same thing for me. I am sucking on my coffee and pondering why there was a box of cookies on the kitchen counter this morning. Hubby must have had a midnight craving Then I wonder why did I have 2? Oh well, they were good.
Today I have another going away luncheon at Dave and Busters...will have to look at the menu before I go.
Oh and today's weigh in was 161.2 Guess yesterday was a fluke.
Breafast:
2 Cookies
Coffee w/ fixin's
2 eggs/rice/sugar free syrup
More coffee is required ...

So yesterday's luncheon was a flop. I looked at the salads and then ordered the shrimp alfredo It was a pretty small portion though, I am sure it is at least 800 calories though. Dinner was a bowl of soup before class but came home and was hungry and hubby was stressing about a test and wanted "comfort food" so we went to Taco Cabana. I ordered the tostada dinner and it turned out to be 3 mesely tostadas and nothing else
Who knows how many calories I ate but I figure it around 1800 ??? No exercise.
Today is not much better, I feel it coming on. Day started out with 1.5 cookies, yes the #%@&! things are still around. Hubby has promised me Greek food for lunch and I didn't pack a breakfast so I will have to order something from downstairs cafe.
I do plan on running this afternoon...
No weight this morning...couldn't face the scale after our late night snack.

| You must be driving yourself crazy with all those weigh-ins. Most experts recomment weighing yourself no more then once per week.

Robert: I tried weighing 1x a week and I was totally unaccountable. I got this idea that I had X number of days till my next weigh in and I would splurge. Knowing I have a weigh-in the next day...I think before I eat EVERYDAY. Just my quirk.
Yup...breakfast was a Ham and cheese omlette/ hashbrown patty/2 pieces of toast w/ butter
Hubby is supposed to take me out to lunch in <2 hrs and I am so not hungry!

So this weekend was a complete BUST!!! I started out all motivated to exercise, clean, practice piano and do homework...all I did was clean.
On Thursday totally overate with Greek food for lunch and Mexican for dinner.
Friday I had Jack - n - box.
Sat I ate an entire tray of rice crispy cookies
Sunday wasn't so bad...I guess...pancakes in the AM and then 4 hotdogs (tiny things) for dinner.
I took a peak at the scale sometime, dont remember when but it said 164
Today I am trying yet again...didn't want to weight myself this morning. It is much easier to just ignore it but then that shows I don't care.
I have offically 37 days till my 10 year vacation cruise. I booked it 6 months ago and drafted out a plan to lose .5lbs a week...so easy right? I gained weight. So now once again a deadline looms. I need to figure out what is feasible and what I am going to work towards...maybe I wont set a number...just work everyday and hope for the best possible results.
I wonder how accurate the calories burned on my HR monitor is. I will research that today.
I plan on getting a good exercise session in this afternoon too.
Food:
Breakfast:
Lean cousine Breakfast Sandwich - 290
Coffee w/ fixin's - 50
Lunch:
Salad - 240
Apple - 100

Yesterday went well I did everything I needed to do...and it wasn't so bad. I still had time to read before bed !
Snacks:
Apple Sauce - 50
Cereal - 150
Salami - 20
Dinner:
Homemade chicken/barley/veggie soup - 300 ???
Banana w/ lite choc syrup - 200
Total: 1400
Hmmm, I thought it was more. I wonder if I am forgeting something.
EDIT: I remembered I had a hotdog w/ bun on a whim before bed.
REVISED TOTAL: 1600
Exercise: 33 min of interval HR run and 30 pushups + 35 situps (flabby gut!) =300 calories.
_________
Weight - 162.6 or .8 I wonder if I am due for a new scale. Maybe I will ask Santa :)
Today is class. Boo. I always get munchy during the 4hrs of lecture
But I am doing something cool today. I am wearing my HR monitor all day to see how many calories it says I burn. I read up on it yesterday and it says the monitor is pretty accurate when the HR stays in lower range. When you start exercising there is a +/- 15% discrepancy that Polar accepts. Articles say it is way more accurate than the exercise equipment. I read that they inflate their numbers so people think they are burning more calories than they really are and continue to use their equipment aka: the eliptical! The only true way to know is w/ medical equipment but the HR monitor is your next best bet, especially if you get a good one. So we will see...it has been 2 hrs since I put it on and it says...283 calories used so far.
Food today, so far...:
Breakfast:
WW B-fast sandwich - 240
Coffee w/ fixins - 50
Snack:
Popcorn- 100
Apple Sauce - 50
Lunch:
Steamer thingy - 340

I have eaten 390 calories so far so I have a deficit
Looks like we have a good rainstorm coming (rare for us)...maybe I can sneak home and enjoy it

5 hrs 20 min into HR monitor test - 735
Just had lunch so up to 730 so far...still a deficit
The HR strap is starting to get uncomfy...I wonder if I can last a full 24 hrs, the prospect of sleep in it does not sound apealing.

It is another day and I weighed in this morning at 162.4
Sooo...the grand total for my HR Monitor calorie test = 2500 calories! I wore that sucker for 24hrs straight (minus a shower). It was a pretty slow day too...I worked all day sitting at a computer, took a 2 hr nap, 4 hrs sitting in class. No exercise, nothing strenuous. Supposidly that is pretty accurate since it was in the lower HR range.
I was crunching numbers during class last night (I know naughty me) and finally gave up on the "what ifs" and will take what I can get.
Calories yesterday: One change...had cereal instead of apple sauce so that is:
Cereal - 100 (minus calores for supposidly eaten apple sauce.
Dinner - Rice/spam/veggies/sesame oil - 460
Peanuts - 75
Grand Total: 1415 So according to the HR monitor then, I have a 1085 calorie deficit I am still skeptical though; I will have to see if the lbs drop first.
This morning, I had the intentions of having oatmeal but breakfast taco's presented themselves.
Breakfast:
2X Breakfast Tacos - 500
Coffee w/ fixin's - 50
Lunch:
2x Bean burritos w/ itty bitty cheese 400
Huh, kinda high on the calories. Wonder if I can turn off the snacking till dinner.

Yesterday went pretty well, all day I had:
Atkins shake - 150
Slimfast shake - 180
Apple - 90
Apple Sauce - 50
Sandwhich-450
Soup - 120
egg w/ rice - 200
Huh, that is only 1240. I think I miscalculated something yesterday...but I will take it!
No excercise, but had a pretty good piano lesson...it was wicked traffic coming home though.
This morning's wieght was 163.8 That is a pound, hopefully more of my weekends splurges will come off today. But there is pizza tomorrow
I have the same things packed today through lunch:
Atkins: 150
Slimfast: 180
Banana: 140
Apple Sauce: 50

I kept to my packed food...there is a bag of candy corn in another office that is a free for all...I had 2 small handfuls for probably 75 calories extra. Work was CRAZY, I was on my feet what seemed all day doing the "fat run" restocking the snack bar and running between offices (I work in a 3 story building). I had to run to the store for soda's for a work function today (which involves pizza ) and grabbed some sushi! After a nap I had a salad and shortly before bed my tummy was rummbling and I can't sleep like that so I had a PB&J.
Food:
AM totals: 595
Sushi: 360
Salad: 225
PB&J: 375
Total: 1555. Wow peanut butter is wicked! 190 calories for 2 tablespoons! I tried to spread it thin, maybe it was less then I thought...if so that will lead to a surprise
Exercise was on the treadmill, bopping around to "I am a gummybear" song. Burned 240 calories in 33 min.
Weight this morning was: 162.8 I have seen that number many times...
Food for work hours:
Atkins: 150
Apple: 95
Pizza...need to do some research to see what I get.

That was tough being around all that pizza for the luncheon...made myself busy though being cashier and so only ate my 2 slices of cheese. Was on my feet a lot carrying pizza and stuff to the venue and back...nutrition info on Godfather's Pizza:
Cheese Pizza 2X - 580
Candy Corn - 75
So far 900 calories as long as I make it to dinner without snacking, it will be a good dinner.

Yesterday was a struggle that was for sure! I managed not to snack till dinner and then dinner was:
1.5 serving of ronzoni pasta - 260
Sauce - 40
Cheese - 10
Salad - 220
Hershey's mini bar and peanuts - 100ish
I figure the total it was 1600 for the day with no exercise other than running around all day.
Today's weight was 162.2 That is another .6lb drop today!
Today started out as usual, packed my usual food and then breakfast taco's walked into the office AGAIN! I can't resist those...
Breakfast:
2X Bacon/egg/tortilla taco - 500?
Coffee w/ fixin's - 50
So that means lunch is going to be light if I can keep my paws off the extra tacos that are sitting 5 ft behind me. Please make them go away!
Ok, time for coffee round #2

Weight this morning...163.4 phooey. Here is the weird thing, I spent from Thurs afternoon to Sunday morning in bed with a fever and feeling like I had one foot in the pine box. I guess my appetite wasnt effected. On Sunday I made up for lost time and we went out for breakfast and ordered pizza for dinner. We will see what happens tomorrow...no exericse today, I am still pretty weak.
Food today is pretty much the same as last week:
Coffee w/ fixin's - 50
Atkins - 140
Slimfast - 180
Banana - 125
Apple Sauce - 50

Ok, I am going to have a sob moment here. This morning's wieght was 163.2 - that is HIGHER than when I started this stupid diary and was freaked out then...so what does that make me now?
I tried to talk to the hubby last night be he so just does NOT get it! He doesn't think twice about his weight or his diet...and neither change Now don't get me wrong, he isn't skinny by far...about 5'10 and 190ish...and completely out of shape which worries me b/c he has a PT test in 3 wks...but he couldn't care less! ARRRGGGHHH It is so depressing not having anyone who has a sympathetic and supportive ear. I mean, seriously, do I need to pay someone to listen? The few womone I work with are all thin; and we are by far not friends. I am the oddball out in this office; I am kinda looking forward to starting over yet again in VA next year.
My vacation is now 23 days away and I have not reached my goal of 140 or anywhere close to it. Maybe I can get at least 5 lbs so I have some jeans that fit; I have been reduced to wearing walmart stretchy pants and that usually restricts to the mailbox and no futher in public.
Today I start again...no exercise today b/c I have class tonight. A big presentation due. Joy.
Food:
Coffee w/ fixins - 50
Slimfast - 180
Banana - 140
Apple Sauce - 50
Salad - 250
That is 670 for the "day" and leaves plenty of room for dinner.

Hi Oneday!
I enjoyed reading your diary - your devilish sense of humor had me laughing in agreement!
Your experiment with the HR monitor was very interesting. I'll have to try that some time. I have also struggled with trying to figure out my daily caloric needs. It's not as simple as all those diet calculators lead you to believe, because trying to follow those had my weight fluctuating wildly and kept leaving me with the urge to binge. But, I did eventually (after a 4 month struggle where I only lost about 3.5 lbs) figure out what works for my body and the level of my willpower. I think you're on the right track, so hang in there and I know you will find your weight loss nirvana.
