I scooped and baked about 500 cookies today without nibbling one little bit of cookie dough or cookie.  I was kinda hungry too while doing this, which makes it harder.  But I KNEW that I wouldn't be able to stop nibbling if I opened those floodgates!!

:star::star::star::star:OMG!!!!!!!!!! You are MY HERO!!! MY REAL LIFE HERO! I could not scoop out and bake 500 cookies without at least nibbling and eating about a hundred of them!!! Great job Trim!!!!!!:ribbon:

Thanks for the compliment, OWF!   But I cut and packaged about 100 or so jumbo brownies today, and didn't do quite so well.   My co-worker had underbaked them a bit, so they were so soft and crumbly... I kept stealing a crumb or two.  Probably 1/4 of a jumbo brownie after all was said and done.  Rubbish!

My vacation starts in just under one week, woooooooo!!!!  Plus my mom is going to be in town this weekend, starting Friday night!  I still have to work, but this is going to just fly by I can tell.  SO excited!!

For Monday:
a couple of prunes and bowl of cereal (350)
half of a large chicken and romaine wrap (450)
plate of salad and cup of chili (250)
part of a scone and yogurt (350)
fruit popsicle and all natural hot dog (300)
half of a large tofu and bean burrito and an apple (500)
TOTAL 2200.  Much more reasonable after my too-high days while not working.  I both worked a full shift on my feet AND did a Turbo Jam DVD.

Goal for vacation... continue to count calories!

Totals yesterday disappointing.  Too many mistakes.  Plus this morning I stepped on the scale, which had jumped up another 3 pounds.  Okay, so THAT is ridiculous!  My weight is steady for 3 weeks... then jumps up 3 pounds... then jumps up another 3 pounds?!?!  Everyone in the world says I shouldn't be worried, this is supposed to happen, blah blah blah.  But that's just too much, too fast and it freaks me out.  Why is my body so wierd.  I'm hoping the scale will go back to normal tomorrow (retaining water??), but if it doesn't I might have to hide it.  I think it's messing with my head.

For Wednesday:
a couple of prunes and some grapes (150)
bowl of oatmeal (300)
veggie chili with piece of bread (300)
little sample of flank steak with rice (250)
brownie scraps, see yesterday's post :pig:(150)
pinto beans with piece of cornbread (350)
fruit popscile and half of a pita with hummus (250)
pbj sandwich on wheat (400)
big glass of skim milk (150)
piece of pizza my hubby brought home :cow:(250)
TOTAL 2500.  Much too high.  Worked a full day which was tiring.  Did entire yoga DVD, for about 50 minutes.

Overall did well yesterday in the face of temptation.  A little bit of rubbish, but totals were reasonable.  Worked an extra long day because of a last minute memorial service that we catered, then cleaned my apt (mom visits this weekend) and baked almost 400 mini sugar cookies to package up cute little favors for my wedding reception in one week.  I didn't eat any!  They still have to be decorated and packaged, but the real temptation is when they are hot and fresh.

For Thursday:
a couple of prunes and a mini croissant (150)
grapes and oatmeal with raisins (350)
3 mini roast beef sandwiches, work leftovers from event (600)
bites of blondie while cutting them (100)
ww pita pizza with mozz cheese and fruit popsicle (550)
piece of bread with pb (250)
half of a grapefruit (50)
half of a roll a piece of cheese (200)
TOTAL 2250.  No formal exercise, but VERY active day on my feet total of probably 12 or 13 hours.  Tried to go to bed after the grapefruit, but stomach was GROWLING!!

I knew I would be busy yesterday with a long day at work and then my mom getting into town in the evening, so I walked to work to get in extra exercise.  Probably about 45 minutes of walking extra at a good pace.  Other than that, yesterday was full of not-so-great choices.  I caved to my hubby's suggestion that he pick up McDonalds breakfast for me.  Then I had a fairly good size (free) lunch at work.  Then we ate dinner out when my mom arrived.  Any one of those occurences would have been manageable... but all three spell disaster!  I will try to get my calories totals more in line for today to compensate...

For Friday:
a couple of prunes (50)
half of a roll and piece of cheese, before walking to work (200)
banana and little glass of skim milk (150)
McDonalds McMuffin & hashbrown (550)
free lunch at work: salad, rice & beans, piece of pizza (600)
scraps of pecan pie bar while cutting them (100)
a few more prunes (50)
dinner with mom: chips, rice, grilled veggie burrito (1000)
TOTAL 2700.  Yikes!  45 extra minutes of walking on top of full day at work.

Did the same strategy yesterday, walking to work to sneak in some extra exercise since I knew I'd be occupied in the afternoon and evening.  This time it was only about 20-25 minutes extra though.  Worked a normal shift, then came home to put away all the "nursery" hand-me-downs that my mom had transported from my older sister's for me.  I don't even want to have a shower now... I have so much STUFF!  Had dinner at my little sister's with my mom and stepdad.  They kept it pretty healthy this time, but then it was bro-in-law's birthday with cake and all.

For Saturday:
a couple of prunes and half a bagel (250)
banana and a half and skim milk (250)
yogurt with lots of berries (300)
matzo meal "bread", testing for passover (200)
brownie scraps (100)
half of a roll with peanut butter (250)
grapefruit and a few crackers (150)
chicken breast with bbq sauce, oven roasted potatoes, green beans (600)
piece of joe's bday cake (300)
TOTAL 2400.  Some of these are rough estimates, cause I'm kinda in a hurry and am too lazy to check the calculators.  Didn't have a low day as I had planned, mostly because of joe's bday cake.  But my weight has re-stabilized, at least for the past 3 days or so - and it's at a number I can live with.  26 weeks and about 23 pounds gained.

Sunday was OFF work, woo hoo!  Went to the zoo with my mom and sister and the men.  Was pretty tired after that, but when my mom suggested that we make a visit to the gym in the afternoon, I couldn't resisted.  YAY!  I did 15 minutes on the elliptical at high resistance, then 30 minutes on the treadmill at slow speed but high incline.  Felt good.
Back to the grind today at work.  Lots of errands to run getting ready for vacation, travel, and big party on Friday & Saturday!

Sunday:
a couple of prunes and an orange (150)
2 eggs with a bit of cheese and a protein bar (400)
2 veggie soft tacos and chips with queso (800)
half of a protein bar and decaf coffee with skim milk (150)
dinner at my house: bread, salad, ww spaghetti with veggie crumble "meat" sauce (850)
TOTAL 2350.  Seems reasonable for my activity level this day.

I like your holiday goal, trim.

As far as pregnancy weight gain goes - I gained a lot of weight when I was pregnant (cos I used it as an excuse to eat anything I wanted), but lost 25 lbs in 3 days after the baby was born. That was all just water. If you are eating healthy (which you are), then a lot of the weight you gain will be water, in one form or other (amniotic fluid, extra blood volume, water retention), and that will fluctuate the way water weight always does. As far as I can tell it's normal for your weight gains to be spasmodic. The 1/2 -1 lb a week is the average, but it doesn't go at a steady rate. You could put on a lot of weight to start with, then very little in the last few months. Or nothing to start with then a lot. Etc.

I would think, though, that 300-500 per day extra is from your starting weight, because most people would not be recalculating their requirements every few weeks. Just guessing, though.

Thanks so much for the feedback, fruitloop.  What you said about not being very likely to recalculate calorie requirements every few weeks makes sense.  I suppose if my original weight calorie requirements were about 2000, then 2300-2500 sounds right.  PLUS, that is the range that I have fairly consistently stayed in, and my weight gain has been just about the recommended amount so far.  After saying all that, I feel more comfortable with my plan.  Also, GREAT to hear about all that water weight... makes sense too!

For Monday:
a couple of prunes and a banana (150)
oatmeal with blueberries (350)
a couple of dried apricots and a couple bites of brownie (150)
plate of salad and piece of cheese (200)
the ever dreaded cake scraps, I was testing a new recipe too (300)
bowl of gumbo soup and a protein bar (500)
half of a peanut butter sandwich (250)
big portion of oven fries with a bit of cheese (400)
TOTAL 2300.  Didn't realize how much rubbish I ate yesterday.  Eating while at work was a bit odd because I was really having to scrounge for food.  Then trying to clean out my pantry and fridge at home (leaving for vacation tomorrow morning) meant an odd dinner as well.  Walked to work in the morning plus walking to run errrands, about 45 minutes of extra walking total.

Just got back from trip to Cincinnati earlier this afternoon.  I don't actually go back to work until Wednesday morning, which is good because I can use the extra day to relax more.  Since we were throwing our belated wedding reception on Saturday, the "vacation" really wasn't relaxing until Sunday afternoon after we cleaned up.  I hate to say it, but I am truly an introvert... being hostess to all those people wasn't exactly the most fun for me.  Plus some extenuating circumstances meant I was short about 1 hour of prep time for the party (I did all the food myself).  So it was hectic for most of the day.  Basically, I am glad it's all over!

I DID keep track of what I was eating - rough estimates at least.  I'll post the totals only...
Tuesday: 2300 calories.  This day was at home, so I stayed in my mostly healthy routine.
Wednesday: 2600 calories.  HIGH, this was part one of the road trip to Cincy which involved diner breakfast and arby's for lunch.  Snacks and dinner were healthy, but totals too high.
Thursday: 2500 calories.  Still HIGH, meals weren't too horribly fatty but veggies were scarce.
Friday:  2700 calories.  VERY HIGH, very busy day with dinner for 20 out-of-town guests at a ribs restaurant.  I ordered fish instead, but dessert just put everything over the top.
Saturday: 2000 calories.  Day of the reception, too busy too eat as much as the past few days.  What I did eat was actually fairly balanced.
Sunday:  2300 calories.  This day was just about right for my activity level, I think.  A few splurgy snacks, but mostly what I would consider healthy choices.

I guess that's about it.  I'm not very proud, but I promised myself to be honest.  That way when I'm serious about shedding these extra pounds in a few months, I will know EXACTLY where they came from.  No excuses.  I know I need extra calories, but obviously my high days are too high for even that excuse.

Weight this morning showed that I am at the same weight as when I left for vacation.  The next few days will also see how much that fluctuates, but for now I am pleased.  Especially because my doctor's appt is in coming up in just a few hours.  Hope for no embarassing weigh-in.  If I follow my previous several month's weight-gain pattern, I should stay at this weight for another week or so and then shoot up several pounds all at once.

Exercise is another issue.  Feel like I need to develop a new plan.  I like my yoga DVD, but also need more intense cardio work.  I'm in my 3rd trimester now, so both the elliptical machine (even slow on high resistance) and the Turbo Jam DVDs are a little uncomfortable.  Luckily it's nice enough outside (mostly) that I can try long walks.  But I have to get okay with the idea that exercise - beyond just working on my feet for 8 hours 5 or 6 days a week - just won't be a focus for now.

For Monday, I ate:
breakfast at in-laws - scrambled eggs, piece of toast, oj, piece of bacon (450)
road trip snacks - protein bar and cashews (450)
road trip packed lunch - turkey sandwich, apple and a couple of cookies (550)
couple of prunes and piece of cheese (150)
small frozen dinner of indian food plus 2 samosas (450)
mug of hot chocolate (150)
TOTAL 2200.  Felt about right.  Thank goodness I thought ahead to schedule a grocery delivery this evening... it is slim pickins here!!

It was back-to-work time today, and it actually feels good to have gotten in a full shift being active.  Now I remember why I take naps after work many days... it's a good sort of tired!  As far as the actual work goes - ugh!  Same old stuff, different day!

Yesterday was odd because I had to take a glucose test at the doctor's office.  Drink 10 oz of very sweet liquid and take blood 1 hour later.  Felt very shaky afterwards, and not quite right the rest of the day.  Will know the results later this week.  I ate:
whole grain bagel with lite cream cheese (450)
skim mozz cheese sandwich (350)
2 leftover samosas and 3 carrots (150)
chicken breast with peas and potatoes (500)
sugar drink at doctors (200???)
frozen yogurt and jelly beans, like I needed more sugar (450)
piece of bread with pb (150)
air popcorn, yum! (150)
TOTAL 2400.  Plus did 45 minutes of yoga DVD.

Another tiring day at work.  Talked to the person in the office who was interested in having me help out there as I get too cumbersome to be in the kitchen 40 hours per week.  Turns out they want me to do some organizing and tidying.  Not exactly the desk/computer work that I was looking for to balance out my active work for the rest of the time.  It would only be about 10 hours a week maximum.  Their office looks like a bomb went off, so it would be a nice challenge for me.

For Wednesday:
cottage cheese (150)
fiber cereal with milk (300)
bites of brownie (150)
small portions of free lunch: rice, chicken, bread (400)
yogurt and bowl of salad (200)
frozen yogurt, little bit (100)
ww tortilla with 2 scrambled eggs, cheese, and veggies (600)
hot choc with skim milk and big spoon of pb (400)
TOTAL 2300.  Felt about right calories-wise.  Went for a 30 minute walk.  My new idea for exercise is swimming!!  I forgot that my gym has a pool, which I'm embarassed to say I've never used.  Now to see about a bathing suit....

I looked back in my diary a little bit and found that I had 5 days in a row of at or below my (soft) target of 2400 calories.  So I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that I went over on Thursday.  But I really wimped out on my workouts.  I should more accurately say that work has been tiring me out too much in the evenings.  It's a catch-22, I know... I just need to get back into the habit of the regular exercise and then the increased energy should follow.  My goal for the evening is to make it to the gym and give the ole elliptical machine a try!

For Thursday:
cottage cheese and 2 bananas (400)
fiber cereal with milk (250)
sample of couscous salad (200)
scraps of pecan diamond (200)
taste of a biscuit (100)
grilled cheese and cup of soup with crackers (600)
yogurt and bowl of salad (250)
2 pieces of pizza (600)
TOTAL 2600.  No exercise, a bit heavy on the junky food. :crying:

For Friday:
big muffin, why?? (400)
fiber cereal with milk and berries (300)
free lunch at work, pasta with not very healthy creamy sauce (600)
scraps of brownie and coffee with milk (250)
dinner at tapas restaurant, actually reasonably balanced portions and healthy (600)
frozen yogurt (200)
TOTAL 2350.  No exercise, again a little heavy on the junky food.  Good excuse though as I went straight from work to follow-up ultrasound appointment, then straight to dinner with friends at the tapas restaurant, then straight home and to BED!  Whew!

I've been charting my weight gain since November, which has proved to be very useful.  Over the past 2 months, the curve has gotten steeper... so I'm thinking of reducing my calorie targets a bit.  2200-2300 per day instead of 2400.  Maybe this is because exercise has become MUCH less strenuous lately.  Anyway, 35-40 pound gain total is okay with me... 50 pounds is NOT!  I still have about 12 weeks to go!  I'm at 25 pounds gained as of right now.

For Saturday:
fiber cereal with milk and berries (300)
piece of leftover pizza (300)
couple of bites of cookie dough (150)
warm fresh biscuit (250)
apple (100)
smallish ham sandwich and yogurt (400)
bowl of salad and an orange (200)
spoon of pb (200)
protein bar (200)
TOTAL 2100.  Probably about right considering I worked a full (and tiring) shift at work but did not workout... again.  Boo hoo!  I finally managed to make myself put in the yoga DVD, did 15 or 20 minutes of it, and then felt too tired to do any more.  Maybe my day off work tomorrow will rejuvenate me a bit?!?!

After everything I said in my last post, I kinda blew it yesterday.  I thought I had "saved" enough calories for the dinner I planned to make when my sister and her hubby came over.  Well, then I had some frivolous chips with the healthier, veggie-filled tacos that I made.  Then I suggested that we walk to get some ice cream (I had the small scoop of sorbet, but STILL!).  WHY?  Ah well, at least I am content with the fact that I am heading off to the store to look at a new bathing suit.  I'm really getting attached to the idea of swimming laps at my gym's pool.

For Sunday:
protein bar and grapes (300)
fiber cereal with skim milk and yogurt (300)
piece of bread with cheese (200)
2 leftover samosas and small ham & cheese wrap (500)
skim milk, half of a tuna sandwich, half of an apple (300)
dinner with sister: 2 hard tacos with veggie filling, extra chips, raspberry sorbet (1000)
TOTAL 2600.  Let myself wimp out on exercise again.

Sometimes it is so hard to write out all of these failings.  But it keeps me from pretending to myself that they don't happen... or they happen rarely.  So, hard as it is, I must be honest.

Thanks, smallerme!  You did indeed brighten my day! :sun:

I just couldn't wait to pop in and say I FINALLY MADE IT TO THE GYM!!  Hooray!  Honestly this feels like a giant victory.  I went to Target this morning and splurged on a $30 swimsuit.  Then headed off to the gym to swim 20 (or was it 22?) laps.  I was aiming for 30 minutes but tired out after about 25 minutes.  Boy was it a harder workout than I thought!  Much different than jogging or other cardio.  But I was breathing hard and felt that all-over muscle tiredness afterwards.  Felt REALLY good! :shooting_star:

Realistically should probably aim for 3-4 times per week swimming and either do yoga or walking on the other days.  I would really like to get back to doing SOME sort of physical activity for at least 5-6 days per week.

Good job, Trim! Sounds like its just what you needed!!:shooting_star:

I hear swimming is excellent for a whole body workout and for peace of mind, too!!! I stink at swimming -I suspect anyway. I dont stay in the ocean :fish: or pool long enough to actually swim-there are always little children around splashing me and I just usually go in to cool off and get back out. I WISH I had my own pool to myself (Our gym doesnt even have a pool either) as I would probably try swimming in the summer:sun: more often.

Thanks guys, for all of the support.  I was just thinking yesterday how anxious I already am to join the weight-loss challenges.  It's such a great community that I feel confident that I could succeed.  In just a few short months, I will!

Tried very hard to keep to the slightly reduced target yesterday.  But after laying in bed with my tummy growling for 30 minutes, I got up to get a little snack.  Probably too many empty calories earlier in the day.
For Monday:
fiber cereal with milk (200)
protein bar (200)
coffee with skim milk (100)
caramel rice cakes and pineapple juice (400)
bowl of soup and piece of cheese (300)
ww tortilla with leftover veggie taco filling (300)
grapefruit and yogurt (250)
baked potato with lite sour cream and chz (500)
piece of toast and little glass of skim milk (150)
TOTAL 2400.  Swam for 25 minutes or so, as reported earlier.  Was otherwise very lazy on my day off.  CRAZY WIND made me just want to stay at home all day.  Same today actually.  Plan to try a TJ DVD today, but keep it VERY low impact.

What a tough day yesterday!  I went to work at 6am as usual, but then quickly saw that it was going to turn out to be a slow week after all.  So I took the rest of the day off (I had worked an extra day on Sunday anyway).  I mostly stayed at home cleaning and such, and had little snacks every couple of hours.  By the end of the day I just felt like I ate ALL day long, and plus my totals were a little high.  But I couldn't ignore my GROWLING stomach!  How ridiculous!  Anyway, today hasn't been much better since being active at work all day makes me even hungrier.  Thank goodness I'm getting groceries tomorrow because I am eating myself out of house and home! :chewing:

For Tuesday:
bagel with lite cream cheese & coffee with milk (500)
piece of leftover pizza, kinda gross (300)
finished off the caramel rice cakes, not buying again (250)
protein bar (200)
bowl of chicken soup with bread (200)
finished off the tortilla chips, not buying again (300)
baked potato with cheese & lite sour cream (500)
glass of milk and half of my hubby's big chicken breast (300)
TOTAL 2550.  Did Turbo Jam DVD for about 40 minutes, YAY!

I think I'll have to postpone that weight loss challenge for a few months yet.  But as I've said before, I love the idea and can't wait to be a part of it soon!
On to catching up!...

Wednesday I really over did it.  I worked a full busy shift, then rested at home a bit before heading back out in the evening for a 30-lap 30 minute swim.  It felt good at the time, but the rest of the evening I was a little crampy and just beat.
For Wednesday:
cereal with milk (250)
big bowl of yogurt with kiwi (300)
samples of asparagus hors d'ouevres thingies at work (300)
apple and grapes (200)
ww tortilla with cheese (300)
2 scrambled eggs with tons of veggies thrown in (300)
bowl of cereal with milk (250)
veggie pot pie and fruit bar (450)
TOTAL 2350.  Swam laps for 30 minutes.

Took a cue from the day before and did not exercise on Thursday.  Was pretty tired anyway just from working on my feet for 8 hours, and we went to see a movie.
For Thursday:
giant bowl of yogurt with kiwi (400)
sample of rhubarb tart, YUM! (150)
small piece of a croissant (150)
protein bar and um.... a pop tart no reason (600)
rice & beans with chicken, free at work (300)
ww tortilla with cheese (200)
giant chicken breast and asparagus, cup of soup (500)
apple (100)
TOTAL 2400.  No exercise.  Weight still holding steady at 25 pounds gained so far - at week 29.

It's the way SmallerMe phrased it! You can still "make money" on that challenge without losing (:pig: or indeed whilst gaining :pig:) weight: it is about goal-compliance (eating the calories you planned to, journalling in your diary, drinking your water, being active etc.).

Hey!  Did you have to put the piggies around "gaining weight"?!?  HAHA!  Made me laugh anyway.  You are right, I didn't fully understand the challenge though.

It was a busy end to my week the past few days.  Worked really hard at work, but got everything done - and now going to enjoy my two days off in a row!!

Friday:
prunes and toast (200)
cereal with milk and dried cranberries (350)
bite of a brownie (100)
free lunch at work, lamb stew and bread (500)
leftover chix breast & ww tortilla with cheese (300)
yogurt & banana (200)
big pb&j sandwich (500)
frozen fruit bar and a couple of carrots (150)
TOTAL 2300.  Did yoga DVD for about 30 minutes.

Saturday:
prunes and handful of dry cereal (100)
toasted bagel (350)
junk food at work all day long: cake scraps, cookie dough, brownie trimmings, mini croissant (600 approx. all together)
turkey breast and a mini roast beef sandwich (350)
pretzels and chips, as if I didn't have enough junk this day already (450)
beef stew with bread, at my sister's house (650)
TOTAL 2500.  Too high, especially considering that most of it was JUNK!  I can honestly say that I just didn't feel like having the willpower to resist nibbling on things as I was working.  I kind of made the decision to just go with the cravings and have a completely unhealthy "splurge" day.  So in that case, I guess I'm okay with what happened.  Planned day off exercise as well.
Today is NOT planned off though, so I better get going with my to-do list!!

Okay, so I thought I had a "high" day on Saturday???  Well, then I don't quite know what to say about Sunday!  Very bad day, but this time I don't think I really knew it was happening.  I went to a friend's house to socialize and play games (my fav!), and she made dinner.  Maybe 8pm, which is late for me with my early baker's schedule.  I should have been adding in my head or something... then I might have had an idea of the damage I was doing.

Anyway, really embarassed but I promised myself I would post anyway:
prunes, yogurt and a grapefruit (250)
pb sandwich (400)
apple, little mug of hot chocolate (200)
made semi-healthy lunch, lean burger and oven fries (500)
piece of cheese & fruit bar (200)
half of a pretzel at auntie annes, yikes! (250)
dinner at friends, pizza and 2 cookies (1000)
TOTAL 2800.  Walked for 30 minutes in the beautiful weather.

Hey TrimB I wasn't thinking when I spelled out the challenge I forget everyone doesn't need to lose weight, some may be just trying to maintain or even gain weight but whatever you are doing it still can be fun and motivating :O)

Hey speaking of cookies..... you know what TrimB when I get to 200lbs I'm gonna go to the mall to celebrate losing 60lbs and I'm gonna  buy myself a Mrs Fields cookie with chocolate chips and nuts!

Sounds like you had a fun weekend!

Thanks for reminding me, because I did in fact have a pretty good weekend!  I am thankful for that, especially with back-to-work today.  I have to admit I was dreading it, because it is such a busy week at work.  But I forgot that I LIKE the challenge of having to be super organized and detail oriented in order to get everything done efficiently.  We'll see if I feel the same way next week, because it's harder having TWO hectic weeks in a row!

For Monday:  much more reasonable
prunes and banana toast (300)
kashi cereal (250)
all-fruit jamba juice (250)
bowl of salad and turkey on wheat (400)
yogurt and pb sandwich (450)
piece of cheese & soup with crackers (450)
air popcorn (200)
TOTAL 2300.  Went for two walks, total of about 45 minutes.  Almost TOO hot :sun::sun::sun:

I was so sapped after work that I excused myself from exercise.  I did walk about 20 minutes to the library and back, but I hardly count that.  I had a chat with my doctor about how long I could continue working given the demanding physical nature of my job.  She said I wouldn't necessarily be doing any harm, but that I should just expect to be quite worn out in the evenings.  So I guess I'm taking this as license to slow down even more with my workouts.  I guess maybe 3-4 times per week??  Especially during busy weeks at work like this one.

Felt like I ate a little too much yesterday too.  Not happy about that.
prunes and cereal (350)
piece of tea bread my coworker made (250) :pig:
big free lunch at work, turkey meatloaf and rice (600)
samples of some hors d'ouevres another coworker made (200) :pig:
leftover air popcorn and piece of cheese (150)
vindaloo and rice, dinner my hubby made (550)
rhubarb cake w/frozen yogurt... bribe for my bro-in-law to fix my computer! :PC: (450)
TOTAL 2400.

Very possibly could be your birthday, Hisgal!  I was rooting for a week or two early, but I'll take whatever comes

Yesterday was a bit of a debacle.  How many times have I started out my daily post that way?  Too many.  I ate ALOT at work.  I did exercise in the evening, but I just felt cumbersome and huge.  I don't know what else to say, except that I feel contrite.  Although I've felt this way before, and then continued right on with bad habits.  Habits are tough to break.
I ate:
prunes and cereal (350)
chive biscuit (200)
sausage and bacon, coworker had extras (200) :pig:
bites of cookie dough (100)
not healthy :nono: lasagna and sample of couscous salad with chix (700)
salad and piece of turkey & cheese (200)
frozen yogurt (150)
2 sushi rolls with cooked crab meat (500)
TOTAL 2450.  30 minutes of Turbo Jam DVD, much modified!

I think all the excess calories over the last two weeks or so has finally caught up to me.  I don't know how to explain it, but I just feel like I have recently put on a few extra pounds... NOT baby related.  Of course, I have no way to prove this.  I guess a combination of too many excess calorie days PLUS ever-decreasing amounts of exercise.
I just counted about 6 or 7 days OVER 2400 calories since I got back from vacation a little over 2 weeks ago.  UGH!!!!

For Thursday:
big bowl of yogurt with granola and berries (600)
plate of salad, small portions of turkey meatloaf & lasagna (500)
bite of an unfilled cream puff, bite of a brownie (200)
frozen yogurt (250)
big pbj sandwich (550)
cup of skim milk (100)
TOTAL 2200.  Went for a walk, 30-40 minutes.  Weight is at almost 28 pounds gained in total... this is on track to gain between 35 and 40 pounds after all is said and done.

Had to work early today (4am) and will have to do the same again tomorrow.  This ALWAYS makes it harder to keep calorie totals reasonable, as I am easily hungry by 5am!!  Goal for this evening is to go to the gym to swim laps in order to feel better about my situation.

Going to bed super early tonight, to hopefully cope better with 4am shift tomorrow.  Done eating for the day early - trying to adjust schedule.  Tomorrow won't be so easy because I am going to a baseball game that starts at 7pm!  YAY!!
Will need to keep extra care with calories, keeping track and "budgeting" as I go through the day.  Not much room for empty calories either.  We'll see if I'm up to the challenge!

For Friday:
prunes and slightly sweet tea (100)
toasted bagel (350)
samples of new bread products & a couple of strawberries (150)
big bowl of melon chunks (100) :apple:
bite of fudge icing, yep as good as always! (100)
yummy little chicken taquito my coworker was making (200)
a couple of bites of carrot cake scraps I was trimming (200)
piece of turkey & piece of cheese & part of a biscuit (200)
bowl of salad (100) :apple:
yogurt & bowl of steamed veggies (200) :apple:
lean cheeseburger (400)
TOTAL 2200.  SWIMMING for about 40 minutes - 30 laps with water exercises in between.

you never cease to amaze me.  all of the impending big dates coming, life changing on every level, plus running your normal life, and still keeping track of cals and exercise!  you are probably the fittest soon-to-be-mom there ever was.  your dedication is , i don't want to say surprising, as you have proven yourself time and time again, but i guess i just can't get over how well you keep yourself in check and on track.  you are on such of an even keel... sure, you have a bit for rownie here and there, but... i dunno, i guess it just sort of hit me how well you keep yourself in check... funny, you seem to be both and "A" and B" type personalitly, but only the positive parts. anyway, point is, i'm thoroughly impressed.

and i must ask.. and because i am sort of going through the same sort of thing- how are the wedding plans coming along?

WHAT a great compliment, Zen!  I don't always feel on an even keel, but I suppose if I think about it I only let myself "veer" off track so far before getting back on.  This diary REALLY helps me with that.  When I first started this (and other times in my life) I was VERY far "off track" from where I wanted to be.

Now, that I wrote all that - I'm a little embarassed to post all the junk I had yesterday.  BUT that is part of the deal.  If I mess up, I must be honest and confess.
For Saturday:
banana and piece of bread (200)
small part of a gooey cinn roll (200)
scraps of opera torte and pecan pie bars (250)
turkey sandwich (450) :apple:
prunes & carrots (100) :apple:
small muffin, not a healthy one (250)
super fast dinner on the way to the baseball game, PIZZA (700)
BASEBALL GAME, really stuffed from pizza but ate a couple of peanuts (150)
little glass of skim milk (100) :apple:
TOTAL 2400.  I consider this the UPPER limit of where I should be.  Lower most days but never over this.  So in some ways it could have been worse.  No exercise, but a moderate amount of walking around downtown before and after the baseball game.

Today's is one of hubby's concerts and he always goes for pizza afterwards at a VERY unhealthy place.  I'll have to be VERY careful.

Yesterday was better than planned in some ways.  Turned out that my hubby was sick of pizza too after all.  So we went home after the concert and he made giant chicken philly sandwiches.  Chicken breast, lots of onions and peppers, cheese, on a baguette.  But I managed to skip a proper lunch, so I had too many snacks between breakfast and dinner.

For Sunday:
prunes and spoon of pb (150)
scrambled eggs with cheese and a grapefruit (350)
small lowfat muffin, slightly better (200)
2 big granola bars and sweetened tea (450)
cheese and alot of bread slices (500)
big chicken breast "philly" sandwich (600)
TOTAL 2250.  Did yoga for 45 minutes.

Weight update!  Currently at 154 pounds.  That's 27 pounds gained in 30 weeks.

Calories ended up a bit high yesterday, but I was mostly sticking to reasonable foods.  I just felt extra hungry.  Today too.  Really want to get some frozen yogurt or sorbet too!! :cone: I held off yesterday, but I don't want the urge to get so out of hand that I end up with fattening Ben & Jerry's or something.

For Monday:
prunes and big spoon of pb (250)
small muffin, maybe I should just throw the stash in my freezer away (250)
yogurt and big bowl of cereal (500)
cup of skim milk and small serving of tuna salad (350)
protein drink (300)
2 bowls of tomato soup with crackers & cheese (500)
peanut butter crackers (200)
TOTAL 2350.  Went for a LONG walk, maybe 90 minutes.  Probably too long because I had cramps for several hours afterwards.  Had to recoup with lots of water and rest.  Thinking off taking today "off" from exercise too to make sure I don't overdo it, since I did work on my feet all day too.

I think for my May 1 resolution, I am going to bring a large water container to work every day.  My work is not air-conditioned, so it's really important that I drink all that water and stay hydrated!!! :glass_water::glass_water::glass_water::glass_water::glass_water::glass_water::glass_water::glass_water:

Felt really hungry all day yesterday :chewing::chewing::chewing:.  I'm starting to think it's the warm weather, i.e. I may just need water sometimes not food.  So for this reason and also because of my May 1 resolution I've been drinking alot of water today.  My calories seem to be a little lower so far and definitely less junk.

For Tuesday:
prunes and coffee with milk (100)
big bowl of cereal (350)
samples of bread (200)
apple and piece of cheese (200)
bite of a cookie (100)
2 small tacos, free lunch at work (500)
bowl of salad with dressing (200)
yogurt (200)
jamba juice drink with sherbet in it (300)
spoon of pb and little piece of cheese (200)
muffin and mug of tea (250)
TOTAL 2600.  Not so great.  Worked all day and was quite tired.  I'm trying to make it to the end of this month before I switch to part-time hours.  It's going to be tough to do this AND stay active with my workouts.  Goal tonight is to do workout DVD.

Doing good on drinking-plenty-of-water resolution.  Not so good on eating healthy.  Yesterday went on a mystery shopper mission which took up most of the evening.  Free date for me and hubby.  We went on a walk afterwards and passed a cute little mom-and-pop ice cream store.  "One scoop" was HUGE... I mean 2 servings, probably 2 1/2.  I completely planned on only eating half of it, but that is really not my strong suit.  If something is in front of me, I just eat it.  I felt so horrible the rest of the evening, and could barely sleep.  Too much sugar.  Plus not really any exercise (besides work was tiring) because the mission took up the evening.  Catching up on cleaning, errands, to-do list, etc means I didn't get to workout this evening either.  However, I did work an extra long shift at work and having been running around most of the evening.

For Thursday:
prunes, half of a banana (100)
cereal with milk and raisins (400)
orange (100)
plantains, yum! (150)
pasta with veggies and chix (300)
sample of some sort of oriental chix (200)
bite of chocolate cake scrap (50)
big salad at restaurant (500)
big ice cream, "one scoop" yeah right (600) :pig::pig::pig::pig::pig:
TOTAL 2400.  Very active, but no exercise.  Upset about food mistakes, but more bummed about not exercising.

For Friday:
sliced turkey and banana (250)
bites of brownie (150)
2 pieces of bread (200)
chicken breast with crust I somewhat picked off (300)
chips and bean dip, curses for cinqo de mayo parties we are catering! (300)
bites of mousse cake (200)
ham sandwich (400)
spoon of pb (200)
big glass of milk (200)
TOTAL 2200.  Again - very active but no exercise.  Not even sure if I will be able to fit any in tomorrow either.  Depends on if I get to leave work early probably.  NOT very good on snacking on sweets and junk food.  Do I need to detox again?!?!?!

Totals were reasonable yesterday, until I got home from work.  I rested to recover from running around all day at work for 8 hours, and then my dad called to announce that he was driving into town.  He lives in Chicago but has been in Philly apparently all week for business, so he drove the 2 hours to visit for the evening.  We happened to be planning a birthday dinner for my sister, so it was fun to surprise her with his visit!  Her favorite is "irish breakfast" so we made all the fixings.  Plus I made a little ice cream cake, except I used nonfat frozen yogurt so that it was a bit more healthy.

For Saturday:
prunes and half of a banana (100)
big bowl of yogurt and granola (600)
ham sandwich (400)
coffee with milk and some peanuts (300)
yogurt (200)
irish breakfast - eggs, part of a sausage, bread, beans, grilled tomatoes (600)
frozen yogurt cake (300)
TOTAL 2500.  Too high.  No exercise again, but I was busy cleaning and cooking and had worked all day.  <sigh>

I found a little scrap of paper that was my running totals for what I was eating on Wednesday... I guess I never posted it!  The total was 2300 calories though - right about at target range.  Maybe 10% ru
