LOL.  I just started yoga...my goals are a bit different from yours.   But I really do enjoy it.

One of the things I really like about yoga, and this hit me the other night when I was doing my practice after work this week, was that it makes you take on a relaxed physical form even if you are not mentally feeling relaxed.  And this helps you to either actually end up mentally relaxing OR it gives you the realization that you can present whatever appearance you want, no matter what's going on inside of you.  I was very worried about work one night this week, I want to to say it was Thursday night but  am not totally certain.  Anyway, I was doing mountain pose and breathing and while I was doing this, I was still worrying about work.  But a meta part of my mind was able to step back and observe that I was putting forth a serene appearance despite a swirl of worry in my head.  This made me feel very powerful and in control.  Sometimes we can't control our thoughts or emotions, they rise up, the crest, they crash--sometimes they are as unruly as an ocean.  But we can always control how we present in reaction to these waves, keeping calm and cool and collected, like Kelly Slater (pro surfer) riding it out, looking good doing it

   I'm starting to get the whole mental aspect of it, and it is powerful indeed.

Its been a while since I posted, but I am happy to report that I have been good enough with my diet and exercise to be down to 151#. I have been into walking, yoga and Pilates and keeping calories called at 2100 a day.

My laptop is having big problems right now--next weekend, my Dad is going to take a look at her, but in the meantime, I wondered if I could use my Ps3 like a laptop. I am writing this on my PS3, which I hooked a keyboard up to, and I've got to say this is pretty cool! I just need to find an online word processor I can use so that I create and save documents using my PS3 and then I will have it made in the shade!!

Getting in a quick entry before my weekly team conference at work.

Weight this morning was 154.2, but I am pretty sure that is from salt causing water retention from the Mexican dinner i enjoyed last night.  But I DID meet my goal of exercising for 40 minutes yesterday (yoga) and I kept my calories to no more than 2100, which is great!

Plan to meet those goals again today!

My boyfriend has decided that he wants to go to nursing school.  That's something I've thought about too, but he has decided that he wants to do it so he can make more money and have a nice schedule where he gets several days off per week.  I wonder if that is something I should do too.

Hmmmm.

This morning I had a weigh-in of 153#, which is more like it.  I excreted a TON of water yesterday, so I think I was retaining water, just as I suspected.

Got in a good 50 minutes of exercise yesterday, which was great, including yoga and walking with my neighbor.  Also kept my calories below 2100, so I met both of my goals.

Had some funky trouble sleeping last night--only got about 5.5 hours at the most, and had a middle-of-the-night wake-up and couldn't get back to sleep for a good three hours.  I flossed my teeth, used mouthwash, did some meditation and some stretching to help pass the time, then I just did deep breathing, which felt pretty good.

This morning I was awake at 6:30 and was able to get in some good morning yoga and walking before work, and I just finished doing some stretching at my desk.  Some good person put "desk stretches" up on the bulletin board, so I did 3 of the exercises.

I hope everyone is doing well and having a good day.  It's already Thursday, hallelujah!

Ahhh, had a big celebration at work for one of the nurses who is getting married (to a dude she met in middle school no less!)

Lasagna, parmesan dip, garlic bread, salad, cake, ice cream, SO GOOD!  But so many calories!  I way exceeded my calorie allotment for the day but it was worth it by God!

I just have to eat 1800 calories or less for the next 4 days in order to meet my goal of weighing no more than 151.4 pounds by next Tuesday.

I went for a quick walk around the hospital perimeter to get in some more exercise--12 minutes.  It felt good.  The sun was so nice on my skin and face.  My boyfriend once told me that when I can feel the sun on my skin, that is him sending me kisses.  So corny, but so sweet!  I love honeydrippers.

I did not weigh myself this morning, as I did not want to see the damage I wreaked yesterday with my little bridal shower celebration.

I got in some great exercise this morning with yoga and brisk walking, it felt really good!  AND I had a nice nutritious breakfast of oatmeal and an orange.  It felt nice to have such a healthy breakfast.

Now it's almost 1:00pm at work and I am in the home stretch!  Can't wait for the weekend!  I will be visitng my parents, doing laundry and my taxes and maybe going shopping with my Mom tomorrow and then Sunday I get to see my wonderful boyfriend.  If the weather is nice, we plan to go to the arboretum.

Still waiting to hear back from my work about my eval.  It's been 2 years with my company on 3/11/ and I want to get my eval done so that I can get my raise!  I think I deserve one!  They are always telling me I am one of their best employees, so they should give me a reward for that I think!  (Besides recognition, as they don't take recognition or good looks at the store).

Hope everyone is having a good Friday!

Woke up with a weight of 150.8! So ecstatic! It makes me feel motivated to keep up my efforts.

Also saw my family, which was fun and productive. My family is so sweet and I am thankful my parents are healthy and have all their marbles
