1419 calories in today. I pretty much followed the 40-30-30 formula today and felt completely satisffied. Didn't even give in to a bowl of ice cream with the children. Although I did have to have 1little spoon to see what "muddy sneakers" ice cream realy taste like. Itis pretty good . But I did not even want any more. Yea for me (why don't htey have cheer leading pom poms on the side hear?)
So walking was only 2.25 miles as I had little onea all day and did not go early this morning. Oh well I kept under my calories and I am satisfied.

It must be almost time for ttotm because I have been a bad girl the past 24 hours! It started off with a roast beef and chese sand sent home yesterday. My husbansn't hungry and I was on the run and did not have time to sit daon and eat the salad my daughter made for me. Soooooooooooooo i grabed the sandwich and headed out the door. I thought that thing must have 800 calories in but found out it was more loke 5oo. But still that is more than I am use to eating at one meal! Then the chilli wasn't so bad but I just HAD to try the pesto pasta I made for the family ( small portion )
But today is what is realy bad! I don't even wany to confess it but know I have to be accountable...........One the bread run with 2 little ones and bought coffe and doughnuts and then later had a bagel with cream cheese and another coffee from Panara bread.
Thought I would start being good so had non fat flour totilla w/ turley non fat mayo and veggies but am now siting hear w/ 1/2 of a blueberry muffin (i ate the other 1/2 and thought if I confess now I won't eat the rest! ) my daughter brought home (she brought home a dozen!). I don't know why I am so carb crazy!!!
So I put the other 1/2 away and I am going to be good the rest of the day!
I almost feel like I shouldn't even eat anyhting else for the rest of the day and just spend the next 4 hours walking or doing aerobics! Maybe I will.

Ok I did exercise for an hour and 50 min. I rode the bike up to the farm we sell bread at and back. That was 4 miles. And I do mean up! then came home and pushed to baby a briskly 4 miles in one hour. I think I burned something like 900 calories!
was good at supper: chicken breast and salad with kens asian spray for dressing. At the farm we went for celabration again and I just had small salad and steamed string beans. I did give ib abd eat one cookie for dessert .
In any case tommarow is a day of rest ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Great Yard sale yesterday! Sold a lot of stuff and made enough money to get the "Dusty Strings" hammer dulcimer for my oldest son! He has been learning and playing on other peoples for years now. We saw an add on craigs list for a complete set for a very good price! He Will be sooso happy.
OK so we celebrated with homemade Sundays last night and I am paying for it this morning! Not to mention the hubs and I split a bottle of Shiraz. Well, I only had 11/4 glasses because I was taking the boys out for sunday fixings and to look for a bunk bed for their new room. In any case I woke up feeling bloated and w/o energy. Made a cup of coffe and did the 'BUNS' section of this DVD my mom gave me. It is only 8 min exercises for buns, legs, abs, and arms. So I decided to do buns and legs 16 mins altogether. I mean how strenuous can this be? After 4 min into the buns I was huffin like I was hiking up hill pushing the stroller! Husband came in and saw me in a precarious position and decided to lay a bit of a swat on me. HA HA HA . Well as if I wasn't masochistic enough I decided to try the LEGS for 8 min.(after I caught my breath and had some water!). They were not as bad. So I decided to go for a 2 mile walk uphill one way down the next. Now if I can walk later Iwill take another 2 mile walk with Debbie Rocker. YEP, starting the week off good! I only Hope that tomorrow when I do the arms and abbs I can move the rest of the week. This has gota be good , right?

I don't know why but I still haven't started ttotm . But am still feeling the effects of water bloat etc...
My weight was up to 187 so I don't know if it is water or the fact that I am consumming too many calories? I don't think I am and with the exercise it doesn't sem like it should mater if I am consuming up to 1700. I would still be loosing a pound a week. I don't know. Maybe someone has some advise for me?
On another note...can someone explain net callories to me? I am keeping track of my calories on mdp but on the days it says net calories and that is the same amount as what I wrote that I had just consummed or less if I add my exercise routines. But what I am wondering is what are they for keeping track of and should I even be conserned with it?
I would appreciate any feed back.

I don't have all of the answers to your calorie tracking question (not familiar with the method you are using to calculate). But I might suggest that your weight is just fluctuating - I mean you aren't REALLY gaining or losing as quickly as the scale reports each day. I weigh myself every day... but it only really "counts" in my head once a week or so. I was keeping a little excel graph at one point so that I could see the overall trend. It's easy to get lost in the day-to-day fluctuations.
Anyway, just a thought...

Well today is a higher kik boxing WOW! I did throw out my uper back half way and had to bring things down a couple notches .
Then I went on to do the torturous 8 min buns routine. It was harder than the other day! And then 4 min of the 8 in stretches. I was just worn out!
Breakfast was a big omlete of 3 egg whites and 2 whole eggs with 1/3 cup 2% cheese and veggies along with 2 slices of dry spelt seeded bread. I couldn't a lot but I am trying to reach 1500 with good food today and no junk. I figure if I start out putting good protein and good whole carbs in than I won't be tempted by the bad.
So I also weighed myself this morning when I first got out of bed and think this is what motivated me to do the exercises I did and have a good but high food day..............................Are you ready 182.5 I'm a singinnnn
I am not even at the 4 week point and already reached my goal of 8 lb loss! I haven't even started tottm yet either. Well let's se if this continues unti the official weigh in on Monday.
But for today the is shinning and I am feeling just y. So on with the day! Don't want to get to excited now.

Ok so I did it! I got too confident about my ability to have self contro.
had a great lunch under 300 but lost it when I took the 32 little ones for my 2 mile walk. I brought along some money to by them an ice cream (mostly for bearing with my walking so far............bribery )
But since the boy wanted his own I got a pint for the baby and my daughter at home. The baby couldn't stand not having hers so we stopped to feed her a"little" bit but she wanted to play instead and I already had the container open and the "moose tracks" just jumped out at me!
The baby came back for more but i didn't save any for the daughter at home . I still stayed below maintanace but come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!
Ok Tomorow is another day

Yes it sure does! Thank you Midge so much because when someone responds it feels just as ggggggggggggreat!
The scale this morning said 180 lbs!!!!!!
but ok, I am not going to go through the roof! ! Well maybe I won't.
But seriously I wonder if it is because after I fell into eating that Ice cream then I used every bit of fortitude I had to not eat anyhting else the rest of the night.
OH, but one other thing I have been doing the past 2 evenings is taking 6 flax gel capsules. I wonder if this is helping burn up some fat? Because quite honestly the last 2 mornigs I have woken up feeling VERY flat in the belly. This is only a guess. Anyone have any thoughts on that? I'll keep trying it and keep everyone posted. This could be our answer .
Still I have to say

I find flax to be a great way to stay regular and keep the body cleaned out. The same goes for fish oil and fiber tabs.
I don't take enough of the flax to notice any difference. Manly cause I take so many other things, that I didn't want to add flax to the mix, afraid of over doing it.
But, please keep us posted. I would love know your results with using it.

Well yestareday when I weighed in it was 181lbs and I did take my flax oil the night before. So maybe it was just the exercising? In any case Yesterday was a good exerce day with lower body(those 8 min. are killers!) and arms. I did not weigh in today and it is my free day so I don't want to know any way!
Don't know what we are going to do with children, maybe go swimming?
I just wanted to be able to post something.

Weell I have to say I did take advantage of my free day!
Took the 2 little ones out so hubs could sleep along with the lazy youth! (only joking The 2 of them are anything but laszy! they are hard workers all week long!) So we whent to the fresh apple cider doughnut stand and got 1/2 doz. with coffee and cider. Then cruzed the farmers market and whent to staples for my free teachers Stuff. Then we whent up to the farm stand where we get fresh milk and cut some teddy bear sunflowers for my husband (he loves flowers!). stopped at the yard sale and bought a couple of vases for our fowers. Came home, go the family breakfast and made hubs his coffee. By then we werre trying to figure out what to do for the day when hubs asked if I just wanted to take a nap with baby and he would take other children out. Oh yah! I was up till 2 last night (up till 1;00 tonight ) so I are a beef and cheese on rye with mustard (no mayo) and handfull of chips. Took a 2 1/2 hour nap. WHen I got up And through the rest of the day I was not hungry. NOT until later . Then I got the munchies and had 1/2 of a muffin with lowfat vanilla yogurt. Still doing fine and was going to bed at 9:00 with baby when hubs wanted company while doing his bookwork. He coorced (sp?) me into getting crackers, cheese and a botlle og white zifandale as a Time together little snack. So whent to PC and have been up reading diary's ever since while he does his book work. Going to go to bed now and hope to burn all this off tomorow, or today godd night!

Well did good today. Took my 4 mile walk right away and had my Go lean protein shake with soy milk and Ice for breakfast. Lunch was snacky food;I piece of beef sausage, 1 slice dill havarti. Later a slice of 4 seed bread with non fat mayo and turkey meat. Supper was roasted chicken breast with corn on the cob( no butter) and roasted summer squash and onions. I did have 1 ice cream sandwich with the boys after swimming. Those things are getting smaller and smaller I swear!
So I believe that brings me to 1500 with my morning coffee and the monster drink I splurged on. That with 400 gone for the walk gets me at what,1100 for the day as a deficit. Now If I can only go to bed and not stay up till 1or 2 again! It is just the only time my husband and I have any cohisive conversations. Oh well the joys of parenting!
Am I using the correct word (cohisive)?

Ok Well Yesterday I started to post but my internet keeps going out on me and it gets ptetty frustrating so I gave up! In any case The scale read 183.5 but I FINALY got ttotm today so that explains everything, the nasty attitudes, the stuck weight, etc..
So fasr today I did my upper body dumbbell exercises. I decided to do the Bi\ody for life exercises as they give you several to choose from and you use the weights you can handle. Which for me is only 8 and 10 lbs. I know I could do moore with the right hand but my left forarm is giving me some weird trouble so I stick with what that can handle. In any case I feel like I am getting some good exercise in. So far calories for the day are 957 and Istill have 500 t0 go. Well gotta keep packing

Ok I wil try to get al this in before I have to go. Yesterday was lower body-40 min and a 4 mile brisk walk. my calories were high at 1947, But I am folowing suenos advice to scoobs. Today I did a 5 mile walk because hubs slept in and kept the baby soI dec ided to walk a lotle furthe up a hilly neiborhood and got lost, but kept walking. Definately harder pushing a stroller on a brisk walk! I felt like I could even go another mile this morning but had to get back to baby!
So I ate my egg whites and 2 whole eggs with plain toast but couldn't even finish it all!
and I had my key lime protein shake for mid morning meal

Well, been realy busy at the farn with the move and all. he boys love all the aspects of a functioning farm:haying, spreading manuer, feed goats and horses and cows! And the grain mill has kept my 8 year old extremely happy, being able to sirt the grain and store etc.. We are happy to be hear. he diet is a bit different because there is way more produce and not as much protein aas I was consuming. Bbut i am reading abook called "eat to live" by Joel furman. Ilike his concept.
I haven't even stareted with the eat to live woe but have already lost 3lbs this week! Starting my month off good! Hope to be down to 170 by October 1st. At 177 as of today!

Well hear at the farm I do not have so much time to get on the computer but I sure am dropping the weight! I haven't weighed myself in a few days because i am a little bloated from pms. But my clothes and shoes ares o much looser! When i do step on the scale I don't want to be dissapointed.
My eating is fair but everything is fresh and homemade and the distance one mudt travel to get anywhee is huge! So I do walk alot more just doing basic things.
Well I will keep posted every now and again

well I am still hear at the farm and enjoying life hear. I have been seriosly doing the eat to live program (beans and greens)for 5 weeks now and am seeing a noticable differance. 4ince we grow loads of kale and beans are easily accesable it jas not been difficult to prepare meals.breakfast has mostly been fruit only (sometimes I add a drizze of tahini): lunch is a large green salad with as many vegetables as I wish, along with tofu and kale (steamed). Supper is usualy a variety of beans and kale with a slice sun/flax sourdough toast. On friday night I have salmon and rice along with a large salad and a steamed green vegy. If I want something sweet I have a bananna, fruit smoothie with juice. My husband and others tell me I am shrinking so that is good. I will wiegh myself this friday and see how much!

thanks c port! Well I do have to admit that on sunday I made home eclares from scratch and couldn't not justify having one. They took all day to make, as I was making them for 40 people! I havn't had my fruit yet today so I think I'll have it for dinner. I am having a sweet craving so this should curb it.

supper tonight was yummie!/stirfried veggies with fresh pinaple. And brags. I made a orange/piacolada juice s*use and steamed tofu. Nice polonesian meal with only fat being a tsp coconut oil for the veggies. I did eat the cookie earlier so that was my only bad for the day. Since I am not counting calories I am not exactly sure whear it leaves me with thatm all I know is it is working even if it is comming off at 1lb a week. I don't want to be anxious because in the long run I will be much healthier this way!

I am curious about how you deal with kale. I know we're supposed to eat a lot of it, but it tastes awful. I found a recipe for baking it and that didn't work for me. I can hide some in salad and in smoothies. What do you do with it?
Also, congratulations on the weight lifting. I am 55 and started lifting weights in March. I mostly use a weight machine set at 40 lbs. and do 3 sets at 30 each. I do use two 10# weights for some bicept/tricept/shoulder work. I use an exercise ball for squats. My upper and lower body are coming along nicely. The gut is just now starting to go down after all these months. Also, I've lost about 40 lbs., so the gut will be the last of the fat to go, I'm sure. I still have about 40 lbs to go.
Anyway, I do the cardio out of necessity. My true love is weights because the results are so drastic in such a short period of time. I have a minor back injury and a little stenosis. Before I started exercising in March, I was wondering if I would end up bedridden with pain. I couldn't walk due to pain. Today I exercise to stay OUT of pain. Four days with no exercise and I'm dead meat.
Keep up the good work! Please let me know about the kale. Sorry I wrote so much, I'm just fired up today!

| I am curious since you guys are doing weights, which is something I want to start on. How many times do you do each thing. I mean, do you do like ten on one arm and then switch. I am not sure how to start and how much to do. So, you input could really help me out.

Please excuse my boo boo! I am not superwoman and can't do 90 reps. I usually do either 30 reps all at once or 3 sets with 10 reps in each set with a little few seconds rest between sets.

Pe personaly I like to follow the bfl program because it has pictures and sheets for the exercises. It helps me to know exactly what I am doing. As for the kale... I steam it using one of those metal fold out duhikies you place in a sauce pan. Put water in and kale, cover and cook till tender/ like 10/15 min. I then addwine vinegar and boy is iy yummers! Hope that helps. It's gotta beet putting it in smoothies

| Yea, sometimes the only way I can get certain veggies is to steam them. I love carrots and broccoli steamed. I can't hardly eat them any other way now, lol.

Congrats on the 173lbs. That is great and it sounds like your on your way to being a thin person.
I would definitely let the night with the hubs slide. One night is not going to make or break you. So, go have fun and start back with the diet in the morning.

What I made for the house was speghetti sqash with sauce in casserole w/ fresh grated parm baked, sourdough garlic oil bread and salad w/ yummy, dull fat dressing. So since I had a protien smoothie earlier I am realyy not very hungry and just hope everyone eats all the yummy casserole before I go down to clean up! So for now off to soak my 12year olds foot as he fractured playing chase w/ his 17year old brother last week. He was being chased and jumped out a first floor window of the new barn yaeh boys!

Well, at least your weren't eating sugar all day, like I did. I was trying to get stuff ready for the big day tomorrow. Yea, I could just skip tomorrow now, with all that I have ate already.
Don't worry, we will all do better when the holiday is over....
Hope you get to feeling better...

More cramps,no TOM. Well I thougjt I would do good today but started off bad by only having grapes for breaky should have known better! So when snack came along I ended up having too many slices of the cranberry orange nut bread with cream cheese spread! On top of that my 17 year old sond who is helping his dad in the bakery today decides to bring me (his beloved mother) a pazini that he made- buttery pastry filled with cheese and sundried tomato so this all before the actual meal! Maybe I will have more self control then!

Well I have been spending a lot of time in suenos diary. That is one inspiring journal! So far I have gone from 191lbs in august down to 1710 hear at the end of November. Things are moving rather slow. Albeit they moving down though. I realy do want to be at 165 by my 23rd aniversary on January 10th. I have decided to give 100 percent this next week. I will take one week at a time and give my all. Wrote in my book that I will begin an exercise program again tommorow. I was anxios and brisk walked 1mile tonoigjt, mostly uphill! ETL BEANS and GREENS forever!!??

Yep, it kind of sucks when people leave here. You just get use to them and get to know them a little and then they split.

| am rereading etl and realizing the reason i am stuck is because i am not eating enough produce. the waythis works is the morenutrient dense foods one consumes the more calories one burnes. i just thought it was way too much food for me. SO far today ate ahuge fruit mix and ahuge huge salad w/steamedbroccoli.hope i can get under the 60s this week. (Or rather into them i mean).
