Hi my name is Kayla, I am on a quest to lose some weight and gain some confidence
Profile;
Height: 5'7
weight 234
goal weight: 158
BMI: over 30+
I am a work at home student, and business owner. I have devoted so much time in the last 8 months to work on my business, i have forgotten at my health totally. As a result I have gained over 30 pounds.
I need about 70 to 75 pounds gone by January 1st. I would hate to have to start again " new years resolution" praying this year finally the weight is gone. I want to be comfortable with my body, and to enjoy my success as it comes.
I will exercise, I actually begin Monday with my routine. I would like some support here in staying motivated as well. I have been trying to find a work out buddy for so long now.. People are busy with work and school, since i work at home, i can go to the gym when i please. Its very hard, I cant begin to describe the difficulty in it. I am getting some help from my bf now, he will accompany me to the gym until it becomes routine and I can get up and say "its time to go" on my own. Its so hard to enjoy things the way i use to, its like the only thing i see is being over weight, haha well according to studies being obsessed.
This is something that I want very badly for myself. Eating healthy is not easy as well. I live alone, and I dont cook much. As a result, i didn't learn to cook a lot of things. HAHA a new years resolution again, learn to cook new things. I am easily tired of the same things and will not stick to it.
I have tried LA weight loss and it did work for me. I plan to incorporate what i learned there with my eating habits again. Sigh it won't be easy. Please everyone wish me luck, i will surely need it.

Wow, look at how pretty you are!
Welcome to the forums - you'll love it here (I've only been here about 6 weeks and i have learned so much) .
Sounds like you are all geared up! I live alone too, I have found the best thing I could do was learn a million ways to cook a chicken breast without adding fat to it (best - wrap one in foil, squeeze of lemon, sprinkle of garlic and throw it in a 375 oven for 25 mins. add some microwaved frozen veggies and voila! easy meal for 1. )

hello,
Today I actually went to the gym. gosh it was very hard
I did about 30 mins on the elliptical machines
15 on treadmill , and i got in the bikes another 15 min. Its not much I know i will increase as I go.
Still I need more calories in my day.
Breakfast i had a bagel, juice and pineapples
Lunch a snack wrap and hotdog everything on top,
snack a vanilla sundae, with peanuts on top and an apple
I purchased mutil vitamins, im sure i don't get much nutrients from food alone. I will grocery shop morrow.
Overall i feel good. I will do some work out here. I still need orientation at the gym to learn to use the machines. I currently dont know how. hoepfully this week i can.
I thought though i would have been more out of shape, but im proud of myself today :)) .

Hi Kayla! I just want to throw my support in here for you. I know you can meet your goal! If you want to lose 75 lbs by January 1st, it will only require a weight loss of about 11 pounds a month.. on a healthy diet, 8 pounds a month is "average," but anywhere from 4-16 is normal, so this is definitely an achievable goal! I will be watching your thread and keeping you in my thoughts.

I havent grocery shpped today as of yet. Sigh I hate eaeting out, nothing healthy, I hate dieting also. Aw.
I cant record really what i have for the day, here.Until i do so. The good news though i did go back to the gym today. Oh man its not getting easier but harder :))
I plan to bring some music with me to help me stay focus, somthing funky. I plan to do my best.
My day is pretty much free on the mornings right now to do as i Like, so I plan to hit the gym everyday for the next six months. Well atleast 5 times weekly.
Can I ask ??how much hrs or minutes a day do you reccommend working out for to lose 3 pounds weekly. Right now im doing 40 minutes and just aerobics, no weight training yet, becasue i didnt learn to use the machines yet.

Another afternoon spent at the gym today. I feel great. I took my first class ever today. It was very hard, I mean wow, i could hardly keep up, but I hung in there. It was a mixture of step aeorobics, and yoga.
After the class though I felt great. I went on the machines, and I was able to endure more there, maybe becasue i was warmed up and had some energy then. I drank alot of water.
Note: to self
-record menu for the day before I sleep. So far a pound is gone according to the scales. Scale my worse enemy. I step on it daily, even though they say once a month to weigh in. I just need to know i am progressing, Sigh.
-Buy some protein shakes, they may help
Overall I feel good.
Ps. I also realized I dont need a work out buddy, like i thought. I had this girl who decided to join also, then she ups and quite and i was so discouraged i didnt go to the gym until now...2 months later. I will rely on myself alone to go and do what i need.

I am progressing I belive, 2 pounds is off, not sure if i mentioned at the begining of week. My methods looks to be slow. I will try a differnt approach monday when I go back to the gym, do some weight traning and more time since i have abit more stamina than when i first began.
I also found out during the time of gym my little sister is marrying and i will soon to be a bridesmaid, so i have even more reasons to work abit harder and speed up my process a bit.
Writing down my calorie intake is so hard.. I hate to count, i prefer just to eat more frieuts and veggie, :)) it may be abit more complex than that. Maybe i will learn as I go.

hello,
How has it been going for everyone. My biggest challenge when I began was giving up fast food. I use to eat it, any time of day or night.
Some things I did to help shave 50+ pounds
- Exercise,. You don't have to go to the gym to get a good work out.
- Eat more veggie- wasn't easy. I hated the green leafy taste to it. I like it now.
- I cut gravy- Want easy.- I love gravy, most ppl can agree.
- I don't eat out as often- If I do, I try healthier choices and menu.
- Stopped eating burgers- well not really. I make soy veggie burgers now. they are really delicious.
I decided on a life changing habit.

My journey up til now has been hard. So far I have lost a total of 61 pounds. I did lose more frequently in the beginning. I average now 5 to 6 pounds monthly. Versus the 12 to 15 I use to lose in the beginning.
I am trying to continue now at a reasonable pace, where I can lose weight in a comfortable rate. Eating more of my favorites in moderations and exercising. I love to work out now still. I jogg, and still go to the gym.
For me learning how to eat has been the hardest part. Its hard to completely change in 8 months time. Remember doing my first diet at 12. Have never really quite succeeded. Have lost weight before, but didn’t keep it off. I am trying to educate myself in the process. It’s the only way I believe I can keep it off when I am finish.
I am planning to begin a master cleanse this weekend. Has anyone tried it? I feel it can help with my digestion problems, and an overall cleanse of my body.

Is the article in the link to show your disapproval for the master cleanse. I have read great testemonial from others who have done it. Medical professionals seems against it. I personally am intersted in trying it to help with my digestion, and overall skin.

| I'm assuming you went ahead and clicked it? It is Dr Fuhrman's take on it. Nothing wrong with a short fast per se but attention was drawn to why pepper and honey are not great ideas, and a healthier alternative (juice fasting) was suggested. But if you insist on doing this perhaps you'll come back and tell us how it went for you.

Diet during the weekend has helped me not to pig out. Its like when I diet during the week, and the weekend comes around I feel to reward myself, or give myself a break. I do a diet that has the food I like. Its basically to keep a menu. A reason not to pig on the sweets and other food. I have a sweet tooth. When I am home weakened I don’t eat much. Sometimes too lazy to even go to the fridge. Haha. So busy weekends when I am out I try to stick to a menu.
I also don’t buy the chips and junk food in my home. As a way to avoid temptation. I don’t know how mothers do it, with children there is constantly snacks in the house, in my opinion thats an even greater challenge.

Weekend been not so good. I tried to stay on track, but pigged out on saturday. Had cookies, alot of sweets, BBQ, caramel apple. Alot of sweets.
Went to a parade. A mermaid parade in Cony Island. It was rainy but for the most part fun. I plan to do some exercise the end of this week.

I take measurements now along with the the measurements on the scale. Drives me nuts to exercise and work out hard just to see the numbers on the scale rise. I know its msucle gain, but I get looney.
It is summer now and I am thrilled. I posted 3 of my favorite frozen snacks for summer.
Current Status:
Weight 166.6
BMI: 26.01
Waisst: 33i" ( doesnt see to be moving much here) Haha
Take care.

My goal for July is to get down to 158. Thats 6 pounds for the month. Its mnot bad, but its a comfortable space for me.
<p>
Right now I am on a diet this week. The diets dont last long, probably 3 to 4 days. then im back to heeating what I love. I watch portions still and nutritional value. I find thing I enjoy eating while doing this. Makes eating more enjoyable:D. I am not eating fast food right now, I prefer to cook. Lazy days I buy baked food, and have it with veggie.

Hello,
Hope everyone is having a good day. Its holiday here on Monday. Very excited. I have grown very busy with work and school since July.
My weight loss journal is going along good. I must admit losing weight is now harder becasue im smaller. I have a 3 months challenge im doing here on this form. It ends in sepetember. So far I have taken off 20 pounds. I still work out 3 days a week.
My new goal weight is to get down to 145 pounds. I am currently 154, so i dont have much to go at all. Sept. makes my 1 year anniverysary thats why my challenges i started began 3 months early and ends this month september.
So far i have taken off 80 pounds, in under a year :D Belive me i've hard hard for it.
As i neared the end I slowly began eating a bigger variety of foods. I watch the label for clories, fat cal, sodium, and sugar mostly. It seems to be working just fine for me this way.
Tha majority of my foods are grilled or baked. I try not to eat the grease ect. At the end of my journy I plan to do a master cleanse. It will be hard. Its a mental preperation to begin.
Keep up the good work everyone!

Sept. 04 I had a really good week. I work and school I walked 20 to 30 minutes and lost 3 pounds in 6 days. It shows that walking can be effective. My new goal is 145. So to speal 6 pounds from goal.
Current: 151
BMI is 23.6
It is getting harder to work out outside, its is chilly outside evenings now. With work and school its hard to get to gym. Sepetmer makes my 1 year since i have sucessfuly began my journey. I plan to celebrate. What a way it has been for me. Learning to eat right, reading labels battle with diet pills, constipation ( poor nutrition).
I'm almost there..

For the most part I am tired. I am still waiting for the burst of " energy" to kick in. I wonder what day It will. I havent done the sea salt flush yet. I will 2night. I am using the tea only. doesn anyone know If I can use the tea without the sea salt flush.
Thanks a lemon
