Well I never thought I'd start a diary like this! I don't know where to start. First of all, I am 34, weigh 145, and am 5' 4".  My heaviest weight was about 4 years ago at 192.  I was never heavy as a child or teen. I put on extra weight after I quit my full time cleaning job!  But anyhow, I am having a terrible time getting off this last 20 pounds!  The only thing I can think of is that I am not creating enough of a calorie deficit since I am just maintaining now.

Now the big thing is that on June 23rd my mom is coming and wants to go to the beach and the water park with the kids and me.  So if I could get off 10 pounds by then I'd be happy!  And then 10 more by the end of July because we are going to Orlando for vacation.  My hubby is a fan of Blue Man Group and we bought tickets to a show down there.  So I guess I am going to start by posting my activities and food. Please feel free to tell me if I am possibly messing up anywhere!  I know one thing is on weekends we like to go out to eat. :chewing:  I like Applebee's and this Mexican place down the street from where I live.  mmmmm fajitas!  So here goes my day:

1.) 2 cups of coffee with Splenda & Coffee Mate between 6 and 7.   2.) A can of Slim Fast Optima at 8:00    3.) at the gym by 8:40   At the gym I did the following: 25 minutes on eliptical 15 minutes on bike 15 minutes on treadmill and I used the leg press and the inner & outer thigh machines.  4.) When I got home I had a snack of 1 sugar free applesauce cup and 20 little mini pretzels. 5.) lunch: 3/4 cup of scallops, 1 1/2 cups of frozen veggie mix, 1/4 cup of sketti sauce. 6.) 25 more mini pretzels 7.) Dinner: 1 medium pancake topped with mixed berries (I know this was bad, but I was going to grill chicken outside till it started storming)  8.) 1 100 calorie Kudos bar.  9.) 1 more cup of coffee with coffee mate.

Diary day 2: So far so good! Went to the gym this morning. Did 30 minutes on the Precor Cross Trainer Eliptical. Very intense machine! Then I did a 10 minute cool down by walking on the treadmill. Had to leave so I could get to work. I clean houses which is a good calorie burner too! Cleaned for about 3 hours.  I plan on doing some hand weights, leg exercises and crunches in awhile.

Breakfast: 2 cups of coffee with coffee mate and 1 can of Slim Fast.

Snacks: 1 Slim Fast snack bar, 40 mini pretzels, some low salt Fritos :nono: that was bad! Apple slices

Lunch: Salad with grilled chicken and low fat vinegrette dressing.

Dinner: Grilled bnls. sknls. chicken, corn, stuffing. Had a few bites of my sons baked beans too.

I did get some handweights in and my arms are sore! Plus I did some leg and ab stuff too.

Well, day 3 was okay.  I had a house to clean that I had to get to early, so I didn't get to go to the gym.  But I did clean for 3 hours.  Better than nothing!  I didn't get in any extra exercise due to a really bad sinus headache.  Yuck.  Feels better this morning though.

Breakfast: Coffee wtih coffee mate, 1 can of Slim Fast Optima

Snacks: Slim Fast snack bar, apple slices, pretzels, 1 pack of fruit snacks

Lunch: Chargrilled chicken salad from Chick Fil A with low fat Italian dressing

Dinner: 1 baked pork chop, green beens with creamy mushroom, garlic & olive oil noodles

Just make sure that you are eating enough calories and maybe cut out the pretzels and replace with fruit or maybe wholewheat bun and or wholewheat bread.  You definately don't over eat as far as I can see.:apple:

By the way, good for you on getting down from 192, a brilliant achievement and excellent for never giving up.

Ya know, I don't even normally buy pretzels, but I bought a huge pack a snacks at the local wholesale club for my kid's lunches and it had little bags of pretzels. I crave salty instead of sweet...which is good! Much easier to satisfy! And I have a really sensitive digestive system...some whole wheat products give me terrible abdominal pain so I go with the lower fiber choice. Not good but the pain is terrible. I don't overeat in general. My husband thinks I am nuts. As he says "You eat much as it is!!!"  But we like to go out a lot and as we all know, you don't have to "overeat" on restraunt food to get a ridiculous amount of calories!

Day 4 went pretty good.  My big no-no was when my husband and I stopped at a gas station in the evening for drinks....He wanted some Cow Tails and I ended up eating one while chatting away with him in his work van.  I wasn't even thinking about it!  But it was only 110 calories.  Could've been worse I guess.  I made it to the gym in the morning.  I did:

Star Trac Eliptical: 30 min    Expresso Bike: 15 min     Treadmill: 10 min walk to cool down

Breakfast: Coffee and Slim Fast Optima

Lunch: Serving of pasta with 1 1/2 cups veggies...no sauce, used seasoning instead

Snacks: Bag of pretzels, Cow Tail :nono:, Apple Slices

Dinner: Roast Beef Wrap (1 50 cal wrap, roast beef, 1 slice cheese, 1 tsp light mayo, lettuce, tomato) Fresh carrots on the side.

Wow, I haven't posted since Thursday! I had a very busy weekend. My husband started tearing down our ugly paneled walls in the living room! So we worked pretty hard. I can't even remember everything I ate. I did okay though. On Sunday I only had rice in the morning, some peanuts for a snack and had dinner at a Mexican place for dinner around 7:00.  I got a fajita salad which was really good! Not too big, grilled chicken and onions gallore! Mmmmm....No spanish rice or beans...I made it to the gym on Friday but not Saturday or Sunday.  I am going this morning.
