My computer has been giving me some grief this week. But, I got it working again. We also got our bed. Wow, gives us allot more room in there. The only thing I have a problem with is I get so hot sleeping so close to the hubby. He puts off allot heat. So, I might have to switch to a lighter bed spread or something.
MJ, I totally know what you mean about portions. I made up sandwiches for this week. That way I know how many calories I am taking in. I also have soup left from last week. So, that's the plan for this week.
I didn't exercise all weekend. But, plan on getting back at it today.
I lost one pound last week. Going to try for another one this week.....
Ok, little guy is being a helper so I better get going and find something to keep him busy.

Cport, OK what with bragging how "hot" your husband is LOL. Sorry I couldn't resist.
Great job on loosing a pound last week and planning your meals for this week. I do find it really helps when I plan ahead otherwise I am tempted to grab something quick and usually high calorie. Glad things are going well.

Yep, I ate my sandwich this morning with a few diet chips then I had my soup for lunch. Now, I am just trying to stay out of the snacks. Man o Man....one of the babies is really being something today and I find it really hard not to snack when he is fussy. But, I need to hold it together cause I want another pound gone this week.
Other news.... my stupid internet explorer quit working the other day. So, I downloaded firefox, which works fine. But, then I got to enter my daycare food stuff and I can't get on there cause they don't support anything but explorer. UGH! The dumb lady I was talking to kept telling me to call my internet provider. duh...it's the browser not the fricking internet... Anyway, so I downloaded the new explorer and it works fine but whenever I click on the read mail button it takes me to window live mail and it's not set as my default or in my programs for the mail I want. Tick me way off....so I just disable the button for now. I HATE MICROSOFT and how they have the corner market on everything. I am thinking of using the other except for when I need to do my food sheets.....just cause it makes me so mad.
lol, ok done bitcohing about that. I have also been struggling all morning trying to get other daycare related things done. Like I am filling out an apt to get a scholarship for a class. But, not sure which class I need. Then I had to go fill out an app for the registry which keeps track of our training and what not....(state requires this) So, that cost me $50...ugh! Plus, I have to find and make copies of the required training that I have already done years ago. double ugh...digging for stuff and making copies... So, my head hurts.
Decided to take a break and come on here for awhile...see how everyone is doing. Doesn't seem like to many people post anymore...kind of boring around here at times.
I wanted to try and get in the bike today, but of course that will not work with my grabby guy... so I will hit the treadmill tonight and watch two and half men...
Ok...going to go see who else is posting on here...will update later...

Naw................it gave us all a chuckle! BTW, I've got a "hot" hubby too! Always kicks his feet and legs out of the bottom of the covers......drives me nuts! I was hoping it would change after I got the "Cool" mattress pad, to help with my night sweats. Doesn't seem to help him though And he's not hard to look at either!

Ha ha! you guys are funny. That was a nice pick me up. I have been depressed all morning. I have way to much time on my hands today. Wish I had a hobby sometimes beside sitting on the computer. I only have one little one today and tomorrow. Then I will only have three the next two days. I really need to get some more kids in here. It's nice to have a break, but this is getting to be to much. I eat when I am bored.....
Ok, so the plan for today is to get in some exercise and I am sick of soup so I might freeze the rest and make some sort of pizza stuff for lunch. Anyway, that's it for now...I am going to go find something to do before I go crazy with boredom.

Ok, so the little guy I am watching decided to nap. So, I jumped on my exercise bike and grab a magazine and did that for 1hour and 20mins. So, If I want I can be done with exercise for today. But, I might do some more stuff later on. The exercise really does help when you are in a depressed mood. I feel so much better now.
For lunch I made a weird thing. I used a portion size amount of that morning star crumbles stuff. Threw it in a skillet with some cut up red bell peppers and mushrooms. Fried that up and then added some salsa and cheddar cheese. Put it on whole wheat tortilla with lettuce and taco sauce. It was pretty good. I am stuffed. I figure the worse part about it was the cheese. But, I didn't have any reduced or fat free on hand. What the heck already saved a ton of calorie using the meat replacement. I forgot how good bell peppers are. I need to eat more of them.
Ok, now my whole goal this week is to eat healthy and try to stay away from #%@&! I don't need. Also, going to try and keep better track of my calories. I should start that right now. I think I will go to my daily plate after this and post what I have had so far and see where I am at. If I am thinking right I should be somewhere around 800-900 calories for the day. Which is ok, since I probably won't eat until tonight.
well off to enter calories

Well, exercises yesterday rocked. I did the bike for an hour and 20mins. Then hit the treadmill and went 4miles on that. So, that was great. Today, I did my bike for 1 1/2 hours while the baby slept. The rest of the day was spent in the kitchen cooking. I made a bunch of stuff to get through the rest of the week and weekend. Proud of myself I made cookies and only had two and I thought they were to rich...so that is good. I also made some devil eggs and ate allot of them. I did use reduced calorie mayo. I had some weird stuff today. I had a piece of chicken pizza, some diet chips with salsa, raisins, a pickle. I am getting tired of my sandwich things. So, I threw them in the freezer. I don't know what else I will eat today if anything. I am pretty full.
Well, that's it for me.. will update more later on. I am going to try and get a scale reading in the morning.

| I was feeling tired of my sandwich stuff too til I got some yummy multigrain pitas! Sometimes I just want something different though. The deviled eggs sound yummy, I usually eat them at a gathering, but never think to make them myself. Once my kitchen is back up and running, I might have to whip some up! The meatless tortilla sounded yum too. I forget how many veggies you can slip into stuff, gotta work on that myself!

omg, pitas are so awesome. one of my favorite things was to put ff cream cheese spread with ham and veggies in it. it tasted totally different than my usual sandwhiches. also, wraps were a great option cuz you can stuff so much in a wrap, and you can tun pretty much any salad into a wrap. good stuff, man!

Well, still the same at 144lbs this morning...ugh! I want to lose another pound this week. I did start TOM yesterday so that could have something to do with it. I don't know... just is frustrating.
Anyway, I did good on exercise again. I rode my exercise bike for 1 1/2 hrs then went for a 2mile walk. It was good. I have tomorrow off. So, I can get in lots of stuff then. I also am not sure how much I will get in today cause I have full house today with both babies. So, might just hit the treadmill tonight instead of doing the bike today. I really like walking outside better but we have had air quality warnings here. Not sure if it's a good idea to be out there huffing and puffing air particles and stuff. I don't know, don't know that much about it. Maybe I should google it.
So, the plan is to cut calories some more and see if I can get the half pound I need to get down where I want to by monday. That means I will have to behave over the weekend. Which has been one of my struggles lately.
Ok, well going to get my butt off here and get cleaned up cause once the other little one gets here...nothing will get done. :)

Well, I did ok on most days this weekend. Sunday, was my worse day I ate out twice and too much. But, I am still a solid 143lbs. So, now I need to get off three more pounds in the next couple of weeks. So, that's like a pound and a half for each week. Hope I can do it.
other news...my job is ticking me off so bad these days. I had another kid get laid off. So, down to two part time kids. I have an add going in the paper today. So, I took advantage of the time off and did a bunch of cleaning organizing of the daycare stuff. The playroom looks great. Anyway, the one new kid that I started awhile back up and quit without any notice and she didn't even tell me, just quit coming. So fine whatever. Then I get a call yesterday on my voice mail that she is bringing him today. I didn't get the message. So, quess who was ringing my doorbell at 5am this morning. I looked out my window and thought #%@&! NO! So, I ignored the doorbell and went back to sleep. I can't believe the nerve of some people. First of all what makes her think I would watch her kid again after the way she left and second you don't take your kid to someones house at 5am when you haven't even talked to them. ugh! So, you can see why my job is pissing me off these days. I have my regulars tomorrow so life will be good the next few days.
Ok, diet and exercise yesterday and today are going well. Sleeping in agrees with me and I like getting my walking done early in the day. I could do it again tomorrow if I wanted cause I don't have my girls until 9:30am so I could get up early and get it out of the way. I might at least get half of it done.
Well, that's it for me...otherwise all is well....

| Cport, boy that parent had some nerve. It sounds like you don't have a written contract with these parents. I would highly recommend that you draw one up and at it should require a minimum of 2 weeks notice to withdraw their child and if they don't comply I would take them to small claims court. I am sure if you search the internet you can find a sample of a day care contract and then just change it to fit your needs. These people are getting away with murder, they need to under stand you are not a baby sitter....you are running a day care business and if they don't like it, too bad, there are plenty of other kids out there.

| WOW that lady does have some nerve! I wouldn't have gotten up either. If you don't set down rules and follow them, you will just have more people walking all over you again! Glad you were able to use some of the downtime for your exercise!

Yep, it sure has been something lately. I do have contracts but have never taken any to small claims. I just cut my losses and move on....
But, that lady didn't have a contract cause she was just wanting to bring him on a drop in basis...until she found someone cheaper....guess she found someone. It doesn't matter anyway. Things will either pick up or I will go get a job somewhere doing something. I don't remember if I said this before or not...but my daughter who goes to school and works two part time jobs made almost as much as I did last year. So, you see a job at entry level would pay better then this. So, we will see what happens.
The diet! I was horrible yesterday... so trying to control myself today and keep the eating under control. We'll see how that goes... I have been doing great on exercise. With all this time off, I am getting in about 4miles a day. Usually before lunch...which is great... I also love sleeping in.. that really helps with the cravings... Something about being well rested. I have not seen the scale in awhile. I am kind of afraid to look... but I suppose I better get on it in the morning and see where I am at for the week...hope it's not high...
ok. well that is it for me...be back soon to update...

I've had a rough start to the weekend too, but I'm going to stay on track today no matter what! We can do it.
It's sad that your daughter can make almost what you make, and you are doing some of the most important work there is to be done! People just are not willing to pay well for the care of their children! Maybe a nice PT job outside the home is just what you need!

I haven't been on much lately. Been taking advantage of time off and getting stuff done around here. My job ticks me off to say the least. I am going to give it awhile before doing something else. I just put a ton of money in the daycare this year to get up to code. Hate to let that go to waste.
But anyway, I didn't come on here to talk about that. It already consumes me enough. So, my diet I have changed up allot the last two days. So far it seems to be working. Instead of doing a high calories low fat diet, I am going even on both. It seems to be working so far. It definitely taste better. I am just afraid of what it will do to my cholesterol. We'll see what happens.
Exercise is good as usual. Even more so with more time on my hands. I have been doing 4miles a day usually in the mornings. Then I usually get in a short but fast bike ride or something of that nature. Last night it was planting potatoes. Wow, didn't realize you could work up a sweat that way. I already did two miles today and will do two more later after the girls go home.
Well, thats it for me... will update later on..

Cindy,
Remember that not all fat is bad...........our bodies need some fat to absorb certain vitamins, and for other functions.
Concentrate on getting the "good fats"...........do you like olives? raw nuts? avacados? They will raise your "good cholesterol" and you want that number high.......it keeps the bad cholesterol from sticking in your blood vessels and causing clots or strokes.
I often change things up a bit, I think it helps!

| When I lost big my first go-around, I was on a super low-fat diet... my hair was drab, my skin was dry, and I did not look particularly good. The body does need some of the good stuff, and I am slowly learning, balance is the key... moderation, mostly healthy choices...

I know I haven't been on here much. I just am really frustrated with everything right now and I get tired of complaining about it all the time. But, I was feeling bloated and miserable the last two days from easter eating and have decided that these extra pounds are coming off if it kills me. I hardly have anything in my closet that fits me now and it really sucks. So, this morning I had one small bowl of cereal with my flaxseed and since then I have been sucking down my green tea.
Hoping that the next few days of detoxing my body will help me to feel better. I planning on taking the girls for a walk after lunch. But, we will have to hurry cause one has a doctors apt. So, got to be back here in time for pick up.
Ok! well that's it for now...will update more later...

Well, yesterday went good and I am at 144lbs this morning. Surprised it is not worse since I ate like a pig over easter. But, I can tell that I have cut calories back. I am starving this morning. Can't even remember the last time my stomach growled. lol
So, as soon as my kids show up I will have some cereal. I am finding the afternoons hard to get through. So, I have been planning out my snacks well. Yesterday it was pretzels. I even counted the darn things out. I might have to load up on veggies to get through them until I get my eating under control some.
I walked yesterday twice, got in about 4 1/2 miles. So, that was good.
I don't really have a plan for today, besides to just keep my eating down and avoid any pig outs.
Ok, that's it for me..... we'll see how it goes today....

Ok, well I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast with my flaxseed (that really cleans out the system). Then for snack it was carrots and low fat dip that I measured out. I just got done with lunch and it was leftover diet enchilada's and salad. I can't decide if I am still hungry or just plain depressed. I have one Little one today and she is sleeping. I am not tired or I would nap with her. Then I don't have any kids tomorrow. This is getting very old. I am so fricking bored out of my mind. Which makes staying out of the food even harder. I stress eat when I am busy and eat out of boredom when I am slow. how stupid.
Tomorrow I am going to run some errands and try to get a few things done. Trying to get bills paid has been hard with no kids here. I hate hate hate that. I hope it picks up soon or I don't know how we will manage. So far we've been pretty lucky. I am going to place an add in the shopper tomorrow. It reaches a few more people then our local paper. So, maybe that will help.
Anyway, I suppose I will go and read or something.

I agree MJ! I am just so tired of all of it. I use to eat stuff and not gain like I do now..... ugh! So frustrating! So, it's time to quit complaining and do something about it.
I didn't have kids today. So, slept in and then went walking. Got in two miles and will go for two more in a few minutes. I haven't ate yet. But, that is because I was bad last night and ate at McDonnell. My daughter was having problems with her car so we headed to Madison and of course stopped and ate. Not real sure but I think I was still ok for calories since I ate light in the beginning of the day. Anyway, the only exercise I got was one set with arm weights and 20minutes on my exercise bike.
So, today is all about making up for yesterday. It would just be easier if I stuck to the plan instead of making up for things....
Ok...off to walk some more then I got to run some errands...

That ticks me off..I want to ask them if they are going to repay my gas to go back there...and wtf... are they trying to kill people or what...you can't just give the wrong dose...geezzzz
Anyway, besides that...my day has been good. I had a big salad for lunch and plan on having turkey ham fried up for supper...with some sort of veggie...
I will let you know how it goes....

I think everybody should take iodine whether they notice anything when they take it or not because it is something your body has to have to work correctly. There are some tests that have been done revealing it's role in fighting breast cancer too.
So I do think it would be an excellent idea for you. To be honest, I'm not sure though if it alone would be enough to boost your thyroid since you are already taking medication for it. But you'll never know until you try.
I have read of people who have lowered their medication after trying some herbs that boost thyroid function. They are pretty much all the ones I posted in Midges diary. I can be a witness that the herbs, along with the iodine do work.
I've been trying these separately on different days and they all work.
Maca, Ashwagandha, Coleus Forskohlii, along with my vitamin mineral combo of: iodine, selenium, B-complex and magnesium.
MY body temp has gone from pretty low 95-96 up to 97.7 (which is warm for me!), my achyness goes away, I have energy, my mood improves and I feel like I can deal with life - you know what I mean?
If I don't take the vitamin, mineral combo and at least one of those herbs I experience, a low mood (that goes anywhere from feeling down, to sobbing over things), I am so cold and feeling cold things is painful, I have various aches and pains, no energy, no motivation. Every problem in life seems like something I cannot deal with. And I can't even seem to clean house.
So, I take my supplements. Life is short and I am tired of missing out on it.
Another herb said to boost thyroid function is Guggul. I would like to try that one, or Schizandra Berry. I am looking for the one that agrees with my body the best.
I am very happy to find all these supplements. They have helped my life immensely!

| I have the calorie counts of all the good things to eat at McD's memorized LOL~ I have to eat out for the next two days straight as we are going away on a mini vacation, and I know it will be a challenge, but if I am armed with info I do much better. I can't believe what I used to eat before I started counting calories, no wonder I weighed almost 240 lbs!

Sassy, thanks for the info...I might just try it. My doctor had to raise my meds not that long ago...I am scared that some day she will want to take my thyroid out. So, If I can boost it some to help that would be great!
MJ, I hardly ever eat out....so when I do I have the attitude that I should get what I want, lol. Probably why I can't lose weight...cause I always say...I'll make up for it tomorrow...lol
Well, let see today is going ok...food wise and I have still been walking 4miles a day. But, the other day I had a pig out on frozen pizza. Stupid of me, cause I don't even like frozen pizza that well. I starting to wonder if I even really want to lose weight. I take one step forward and two steps backwards....very frustrating.
I haven't been on the scale either. Today I did after walking, eating, and showering...so you knows how accurate it was.
Well, going to try and jump on the scale in the morning and see what it says. I been fighting a small cold (sore throat and sinus stuff). So, maybe that will help with the diet. :)

Ok, I don't have much to reports. I am down two pounds this morning which is nice. I have really been trying hard this week to be good. With the nice weather and having to wear shorts a few times has definitely freaked me out. I hate how fat my legs look.
So, trying to distract myself from eating all the time. I have been doing allot of reading that helps pass the time. Also, been doing allot of exercising. So, that helps. I have been stuck for months now and I really want to get the scale moving again.
I have been pretty proud of myself. I made the family cookies and have only had one bite of them. For whatever reason the smell of them is getting to me. So, I have been staying out of them. Which is great!
Today I plan on walking with the kids when they get here and then heading to the store for some salad items. I am out of everything that is fresh. I have lots of frozen stuff. But, I get tired of steamed veggies all the time.
Also, I started taking acari berry supplement this last week. It seems to help with keeping my appetite under control. That's about all I have noticed from it so far. If it helps then I will keep buying it. Also, have added Ok! that's it for me....I need to go check my facebook before the kids get here.... will update later on...

Ok, walked three and a half miles with the kids.... then came home had some popcorn with diet dip. Now I am having tuna with some steamed veggies. This meal is 280calories. Not sure on the popcorn cause I didn't measure it out...but it wasn't a ton. So far, it's all good.
Stupid...I had to wear my cute little tennis shoes when I went walking and now I have nice blister on both of my pinkie toes. When will I learn not to do stupid stuff like that. I know that when I walk I must wear my good shoes...
I will walk again later if I can with the blisters. I might just pop them and put on band-aids. Can't believe I even did that.
Anyway, the kids are napping so I am off to do some reading on here and then my book...

| Hey Cport, sounds like things are going well, excpet for the blisters. I do a lot of walking and I am a huge believer that it is all about the shoes. You might have to give it a day or so depending how bad they are but don't push it, you can still ride your bike , I know you like to do that too. I haven't gotten my bike out but I really should, it's time.

Yep, things are going good. I did walk more yesterday. Didn't really hurt my toes any since I wore my good walking shoes that don't rub. I did end up popping the blisters today and putting bandaids on them. They don't hurt now. So, hoping they will heal fast.
I can like you said Hiker, always ride my bike. It been so windy that I would have to do the exercise bike. I am thinking that maybe one of the reason for a stand still in weight loss is due to not changing up my exercise. I try! I just love to walk and it's easy. So, I don't know....maybe it's time to hit that elliptical again..ugh! as much as I hate the thing... I bought the thing when I was having allot of foot problems and it helped...but it just really gets the best of me... About a year ago, it was my favorite exercise...now I hate the thought of it. lol
Anyway, today already had an egg white on my diet bread sandwich and a bite of cookies.... (they are still grossing me out) that's been it so far today....
exercise, I will either walk with the girls or take the day off. I have put in about 11miles the last two days...so not real concerned about it at the moment.
on a different note:
lol, I had lettuce planted last year and I didn't hoe it under at the end of the year...guess what? It started growing again... to wierd... but a nice surprise...looks like I will have some sooner then I thought. I did plant more and some spinach... god I love fresh veggies from the garden... nothing better...
ok...that's it for me... will update later on..

I was just reading through and seen this...
My good cholesterol is really high...The doctor tells me from all my exercise. So, I am happy with that. I don't want to cut good fats...just fat in general. I take in way to many calories compared to what I use to or it's my metabolism... not real sure...but I guess since I quit gaining, I am happy for now...but would really like to get the extra off...even a loosy five pounds would work for me right now..

man, i hate dealing with high cholesterol. i have the same problem as you- both LDL and HDL is high, with my total number in the 230s (on a good day). yeah, it runs in the family.
just wanted to let you know that i feel your pain on the cholesterol and oh! have you ever taken Red Yeast Rice? i got a recommendation for it and i have heard other people with high cholesterol getting the same thing. honestly, i don't have insurance so i can't get my numbers checked, but it's supposed to help and it's really not that expensive. i've been taking it dialy for a while now and eventually, i hope to be able to get checked again...
and i too would love to drop a lousy 5 lbs. seriously, it's amazing what a difference 5 lbs makes...

I took that for awhile. I have found it's the red meats for me...If I stay away from them, then my cholesterol stays in check. Problem is I love hamburger...
Anyway, the diet is going same old, same old. I am wondering with this stand still if my thyroid might still be a little on the high side. I don't know...It just seem like I starve for three day drop a couple of pounds then have one bad day and put it back on...
I am also trying to change up my exercise, since my body is so use to the walking. I bought the new "just dance" game for the wii. Did that today and it was a good workout and fun. So, I will try to do more of that. I am also going to try and do more of the ellipical and other things. See if that can get things moving on the scale again.
Ok. well that's it for me and the baby is getting fussy...so will update later on...

Hi Cport, I was reading your entry and I was just wondering if maybe on that 3rd day you are going on a mini carb binge? At least for me I have to go almost carb free for 4 days before I can get those cravings in check. Here is an interesting aritcle on how your body reacts when you do have a carb binge http://www.marksdailyapple.com/what-happens-to-your-body-when-you-carb-binge/ Of course I have no idea if this is the case but it was a thought that occurred to me. The good news is if you are watching your carbs you can have lots of thos hamburgers you love, bunless of course .Last edited on 21 April 2010 12:44 pm by Hiker

Hi Hiker...yea it has got to be something cause I can not get my weight to budge and I am not totally pigging on that bad day, not like I could anyway.
So, thinking about all this I decided instead of calling the doctor and having my thyroid checked again. I decided to try some new suppliments. So, I found a really good website with cheap discount vitamins. So, I order some of that red yeast rice for my cholesterol and then I got some kelp for my thyroid. I also picked up a b-12 vitamin... I hoping the b-12 will help with my depression that I get now and then. I really struggle with that at times. Also, got some more of my regular stuff that I take. We'll see if any of it helps.
I do think the acar berry helps with my appetite. But, haven't had any weight loss since I started it. I am just plain onld stuck... and it sucks...
weighed in this morning at 143lbs.
Exercise- I am trying to still do my walking but add other things in as well. So, I did that new game I got yesterday and it's a blast. I ended up playing it for an hour in the afternoon and then again last night for an hour...it's addicting and it makes me sweat after awhile.
I am not sure I want to walk with the girls today. Depends on how the baby is. If I don't then I am going to do the elliptical tonight and then walk.
Already had some toast today and some breakfast casserole.. so I should be good untill later on today..

B-12 is suppose to help with energy. I think I've read that for depression it's good to take a B- complex which is a combination of several of the B's. I take a whole food B-complex and find that helps. Are you still taking fish oil?
I hope your new supplements help you feel better.
Hang in there Cindy!

Hi Sassy, Oh I am hanging in there...it's very frustrating...I know I am cutting calories and exercising enough to lose so something is going on. I stay with in a few pounds and have for about three months now. I am trying to hold out on going back to have my thyroid checked. I am suppose to go back in about two months anyway and it just gets to be to expensive to go all the time.
I do still take the fish oil along with other general vitamins. But, I wanted to target on something for my thyroid and mood. I think I will get the new vitamins on Monday. We'll see what they do.
Otherwise things are good. I walk everyday, and trying to get in a little extra of something else and I have been eating healthy as well. Made soup yesterday. So, been doing good that way as well. I have been sleeping in allot which is great but I feel like a bum, lol. But, that will end here next week. I will have to be up before 8am for a change. Sure has been different not getting up at 5am everyday. I feel like I am on vacation.
well, that's it for me...will update again later on...
