Yesterday my calories ended on 1400 for the day as I had a french nougat and a couple of sips of my sons whey drink.

I did my usual workout and run with walk for later.

Today I had a teaspoon of flaxseed for breakfast (20) this being because it's SAWA monthly meeting and of course all those fattening snacks.

Lunch was half scone with cheese(218), small bran muffin(230), 1 cocktail sausage(67), 1 slice poppyseed cake(240), tiny slice banana bread(85) butter on scone and banana bread(20) Two shortbread biscuits (201)  :yum: :pig::nono:

Snack is an orange(63) Milk for coffee(110) 1.5L water(0)

Supper will be  2 meatballs(185) and mixed veggies (60)

Calories 1497  Protein 56.1, 14% fat 70.4, 40% carbs 180.2, 46% and fibre 13.5

Although the calories are ok, a very bad day for percentages!   I will have to have an extra long walk tonight and maybe just have one meatball and more veggies.

Thanks Missfit!

I ended up on 1600 calories for the day yesterday.  Unhealthy calories though.  I also missed my walk home because I was feeling totally pooped.  I actually feel it when I eat unhealthily lately.

This morning was my run. Walk later. :horse:

This morning I had a whey, flaxseed and cinnamon smoothie with low fat milk(380)

Lunch was a yoghurt (106) Snack an orange(63) Water 1.5L(0) Milk(110)

Supper will be vegetable lasagna(530) :yum:

Two shortbread biscuits(200) with tea. (Bad I know) :pig:

Calories for the day 1485 Protein 84.8, 23% fat 37.5, 23% carbs 198.9, 54% and fibre 17 Not so good with the fibre.

Yesterday's calories stayed under 1600 and I did go for a nice long walk.

Today I had a 100ml low fat strawberry yoghurt for breakfast (106)

Lunch was another yoghurt (106) and an apple(110) I have been running around organising curtains to be made so no time to worry about food too much.

I will be moving stuff tonight so will stop and get take away chicken(530) and masala chips(260) and coleslaw (134) for supper.  I am using KFC as a guideline for calories.  Hopefully the calories will actually be less because it is a grilled chicken they make with no batter over, and hopefully the fat percentage will be a little better.

Calories are 1381.4 Protein 59.2, 17% fat 62.6, 41% carbs 145.4, 42%    fibre 6 :nono: Ok, percentages are really bad again. I have to try and make up for it this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by, Theresa!  Looks like several of us have 80 lbs to lose.   Looks like we'll be together for awhile, as I had also looked at a 10 month goal plan.

Yep, let's just keep on keeping on!  We are going to be so healthy and so gorgeous!!!!! We'll actually be healthy and gorgeous long before our target date!

Have a wonderful day!

Thanks Beth, we will get there, come #%@&! or high water!

Friday ended up being maintenance day because I went out to eat and had had Indian and 3 glasses of white wine. Saturday ended on approximately 1400 calories and Sunday was 1750 calories.(that was due to brownies with cream :pig:.

I am going to be making a few changes as of today:

1) Join the spring fling challenge,                                                                                     2) eat every 3-4  hours                                                                                                       3) run double the amount I was doing previously but in the evenings only.  Instead of running in the morning and walking in the evening I will combine both in the evening to aim for running only.  Obviously I will start off walk/run until I am fit enough to run the whole way again.  This is because I cannot run to work anymore due to living next door to the office.  I will however continue to work out with my weights 3 days a week as before.                                                                                                                             4) Try harder at eating healthier as often as possible.

This morning was my weight workout and I will run tonight.

Breakfast was 50g ham and 3rd of a tomato. (62) Snack was 20g dry roasted/light salted peanuts(119)

Lunch will be a 100ml low fat strawberry yoghurt(106) snack 4 slices of pineapple(108)

A whey drink before my run (165)

I want to make some calamari rings for supper but still need to see if I will be able to.

Calories so far are 691 protein 46, 26% fat 21,5, 27% carbs 83.3, 47% fibre 5.1 :nono:

I think it's awesome that you sat backa nd re-evaluated and are going back to the things that worked. It is weird to eat every three hours and yes food seems to control the thoughts. BUT it works....I never have cravings when I eat my 6 meals and get all the water in.
Have I told you lately how motivated I am by you ? You are doing so well!

Thanks Hoofprints!  I guess we have to just get up after each stumble and plod along again.

My calories ended on 1600 yesterday.  For supper I had calamari, broccoli, some fries and a few bites of steak and I also ate some milky bar:shock::nono:  As for my run yesterday I managed maybe 700meters and walked for the same as well.  I don't know what happened?  I had absolutely no energy and my whole body was sore.  It was like I suddenly got ill because I even went to bed at 8.30 and I normally go at 10.00 pm.  I went for a 4.5 km walk with a friend this morning and felt absolutely fine again.  So either I got a 24 hour bug or my body refuses to workout at the end of the day.  Ok the second option is not possible because I always walked in the early evening anyway when I walked back from work.  So I think I got a 24 hour something?  I will go for a short walk/run tonight again.

Breakfast was a couple of pineapple slices(81) and an hour later 20g peanuts(119).  I am so starving lately.

Lunch was a huge brown bread cheese and tomato sandwich(495)

Two blocks of milky bar(60)

Supper will be Savaroni & mince pasta(420)

Milk for coffee (130)

Calories for the day 1341 Protein 67.5, 20% fat 38.2, 26% carbs 182.3, 54% fibre 16.1 my calories are good but my fibre intake lately is really not good.

Yesterday my calories ended on 1600 hundred as I had two slices of brown bread with supper.  And a few corn chips to nibble on.  Iv'e been as hungry as a horse lately. :horse:

I went for a nice walk last night as well.  This morning was another wonderful (6.8km   ) walk with a friend.  Lots of huge uphills, so even though I am not running I don't mind, the walks are just as good if not better and it's always better with company  :sheep: :sheep:        . I think I was getting tired of running and really am enjoying the walking so much more.  I guess I neede a change. My weights as well today.

Today is my baby's birthday, he is turning 17.  I was thinking of getting him a baby goat for his birthday because he and I both have been wanting one for a pet for a long time.  But I have decided against it because I am scared that it will get stolen and someone will eat it. It would break both of our hearts.  We will just have to make do with fussing over the goats that are forever running around the streets outside for now.

Breakfast was a whey and cinnamon drink (330) Snack is pineapple (54)

Lunch is a chili pilchard sandwich on brown bread (250) Snack is pineapple(54)

Supper will be a stir fry with steak & veggie(465) and brown rice(160)

Dessert will be low fat evaporated milk and jello/jelly(220)

Calories for the day 1527 protein 104.5, (27%) fat 37, (21%) carbs 203.2,(52%) fibre 26 Nice percentages today as well as better fibre

Your walk sounds like you are getting a great workout, and those hills sound beautiful too.  Keep it up Theresa.

Its mortifying to think that someone might steal and eat your pet goat.  I can't even imagine something like that happening to one of my dogs.

Thanks Hoofprints, Mollymoo and Beth

er...... They are actually Ugandan goats Hoofprints   Even though I am South African I live here in Uganda and have been here two and a half years.  I do however believe a goat in SA would also be stolen and chomped as well anyway.  In Uganda you get a shack standing next to a nice house.  One street might be full of poverty ridden people and the next one will be full of rich ministers etc.  Now Ugandans don't really steal a lot but if you are white they automatically think they have a right to take what is yours because in their uneducated little minds we are all loaded and can just get another one.  Unfortunately most African whites are not loaded and usually have to work harder than any one else to get we want, contrary to what most people believe especially regarding us White South Africans.  I always feel that we are the orphans of the world.  It has actually always been that way.  sooo.....Salute to my white African brothers!

They do grow up so quickly Beth, I was speaking to someone yesterday and saying that I feel sorry for the baby of the house because I think us mothers tend to not want to let our babies grow up so they will always be our baby and we will always try and hang on to them.

I understand about letting our babies go.  I only had one and it was so hard to let her go.  When she left home, I grieved for about a year.  The house was just too quiet.  My daughter is now considering having a child.  Isn't quite sure yet if she wants to.  Here I sit just waiting on my grandaughter who hasn't been conceived.   If she ever does get here, I can't wait to tell her how long I waited for her arrival.  If she does make it, I  promise you I will spoil her rotten.  I will definitely give her "the gift."

Thanks for the insight on what it is actually like to live as a White African in Africa. There was a fabulous play at a local theatre company called the "Syringa Tree". It was facinating to watch how other cultures handle social issues all from the perspective of a child. It was based in South Africa....

My pleasure Hoofprints.  If you ever want to know more feel free to ask,  the outside world gets everything via news regarding Africa and it's usually only 10% true and the other 90% is distorted.

On your walking, if you walk at a nice fast pace I find that I usually walk a kilometer every 10 minutes.  For example this morning I walked 6.8 km again and it took 1hour and 15 minutes.  Hope this can give you a guideline.

Yesterday's calories were 220 less (1400) because I left my candy bar for today as well as a breadroll less.   Today was a 6.8km walk and my weight workout.

Breakfast is a banana, pineapple, whey, flaxseed and cinnamon smoothie(390)

Snack will be a  banana (120)

Lunch is a brown toasted cheese, tomato and onion sandwich.(325)

Milk for coffee (130) Fudge candy bar(100)

Supper will be a Hotdog with tomato sauce (404) and 30g rice crisps (115)

Calories 1612.5 Protein 84.8 ,21% fat 51.6, 28%  :nono: It's the hotdog I know!   carbs 1206.8, 51% and fibre 19.7.

I will definately have to increase my veggie intake very soon.  This week seemed to be a carb week through bread, which is a definate no no :nono: :pig:

Ok! Calories on Friday ended up being 1900 due to me chomping more rice crisps, Saturday's calories were 1500 and Sunday's calories were 2000. (I accidently posted this in Nir's diary somehow on Sunday or Saturday)

Despite the calories being higher than I wanted them to be for one of the days I still lost 2lbs!:grin::cool:  My weight on the scale this morning was 196lbs!!! YAHOOO!!!  The changes that this could be a result of is eating every three hours or so again as well as a total change in excercise again.(Walking double the distance I used to run)  Also feeling happier in my excercise. ( Walking with company)  So change can be very good.

I went for a 7 kilometer walk and my usual weight workout. I will walk another 2km's or so this evening.

Breakfast was a small glass no fat milk (45) Brown Toast with peanut butter and jam(205)

Snack is 25 peanuts(100) I am so craving nuts lately????

Lunch is chickpeas with a carrot and tablespoon no fat cottage cheese.(166)  Snack is a small yoghurt(106)

Supper will be wholewheat pasta with a tomato, onion and lentil pasta sauce.(580)

Dessert will be jelly/jell-o and low fat evaporated milk(218)

Calories 1511 Protein 73.4, 19% fat 27, 16% carbs 244.8, 65% and fibre is 24.3 Definately a high carb day, a pity I couldn't have had more protein.

Thanks Abby!  But it is due to your suggestions of making a few changes that got me trying new ways and it seems to be working.  So we can motivate each other.  Try feel good again with how you are going about it.  I think I was trying too hard and now I am more comfortable with walking instead of running and I am losing. You still motivate me, look at how much weight you have already lost, you will get through this!

Thanks Mollymoo, I was surprised not to find pilchards on the calorie counter myself, I thought we all called them that.  Pilchards are just another term for sardines.  I think it has to do with size that the name changes.

Actually I just checked. It's an adult sardine.  It is called a pilchard once it is over one year old.

I have to Hoofie, or else I easily go off track. I find it defineately keeps my calories down and it also gives me that power of being in control.

Yesterday I didn't have the dessert but I had a 20g chocolate that was 150 calories. And then I was starving so I had a slice of brown bread with cottage cheese(100), so my calories were within the same calorie range that I had worked out, maybe 20 or so more.  I went for my afternoon walk as well, so a good day overall.

Today was the 6.8km walk and my weight workout. :sheep::sheep: Walk tonight again.

Breakfast was banana, caramel & cinnamon oats again with 5 crushed peanuts on top(218) :yum:

Snack will be a 100ml bio yoghurt with half a chopped apple(163)

Lunch will be toasted cheese and tomato on brown bread.(365)

Snack will be the rest of the apple (55) :apple:

Milk for coffees(90) :cow:  Water 2L(0)

Supper will be a hotdog on a bun with ketchup and mustard(440)

Small mint choccie (126) :pig::devil:

Calories for the day 1457 Protein 59.8, 16% fat 53.9, 33% carbs 185.1, 51% fibre 20.3

OK I really have to make a much better effort with veggies this weekend.  Today is definately not good enough, everything is processed  food. :nono: :pizza: I do have peas in the fridge so I must try and nibble on some later just to get some more veggies in. :rabbit:

You're very good at reporting everything and you're doing really well by the looks of it!

I'm going to take your example and report every day thoroughly. Even if I'm not intending to lose weight it'll make me more aware of what my eating habits are, and maybe subconsciously they'll start to change.

I don't know much about daily life where you are at....I am sure it is so different.  Here, making a salad (for me) consists of ensuring that my husband picks up pre-packaged salad from the grocery store - 5 lettuce blend, prewashed - open the package, put lettuce in bowl, drop in a few grape tomatoes, add a little lo-cal dressing, and eat.  I guess I should consider myself very lucky that it IS easy when I want to be good.

Ok you won Mollymoo, I had my salad!  It had tuna and a little bit of cheese in but lots of lettuce, apple, tomato, onion, and gherkin and a slimonaise mayo that is 13 cal per tablespoon.  I t was a filling supper and healthy and low calorie.  The downside is that I have had about 650 calories worth of chocolate and choc coated peanuts today as well. :pig::devil:

Now tomorrow we must have lots of vegetables. I already bought them today and plan on having a huge vegetable bake with a teeny amount of olive oil drizzled over.

I usually have to put in a little work to wash and chop stuff for salad.  It's not too much work, but sometimes it's easier to grab a yoghurt or a slice of bread.

My calories ended on 1700 Friday due to some corn chips and biscuits/cookies with tea. Today with all my sweeties it ended on 1870. Today was to be my high calorie day though so it's not too bad in calories but should have been much healthier eating.

All right Girl way to go!!  And I am having a big salad for lunch today with a small bit of cheese pizza.

Lots of veg tomorrow sounds good too.  We need to go pick up some red and green peppers, red onions, and broccoli.  Maybe some pea pods too.

I managed to eat a huge plate of baked vegetables yesterday, brocolli, butternut, onions, carrots, greenpepper, garlic and baby potatoes.  The weekends calories were not too bad overall.  However the scale only showed.5lbs down this morning.  Hopefully next week it will be better.  It's funny how I always seem to lose the least amount for the week when I happen to fit into smaller clothes again.  I slipped into a size 12 mini skirt that had not fit me for a while this weekend and I was so chuffed with myself.  I really felt as if I had lost more weight this week. Darn....

This morning was my 6.8km long walk and half hour weights, and tonight another shorter walk. :sheep::sheep:

Breakfast was a slice of brown toast and peanut butter.  Couldn't snack as I had a long meeting this morning.(180)

Lunch was an avocado, lettuce and bacon salad with dressing.(400) 3 small slices of garlic naan(150) Very yummy, healthy but not really low calorie. :yum:

Snack is a 100ml yoghurt(107)

Milk for coffees (130)

I am going to make butternut, peas and a soya mince gravy for supper(200) :apple:

Calories are approximately 1200 for the day.  I cannot get into the calculators for some reason since this afternoon.  Will try again later.  I did however manage to work out how to get a Ticker thingy.  I just need to experiment a bit more and get accustomed to it and how to change it.

I want to totally cut out sweets and chocolates this week and try eat more fruit and veggies.  I have really not been trying hard enough to eat healthy foods.  I have been good at eating the correct amount of calories but not good at making sure they are healthy calories.  I really need to apply myself. :dizzy::confused:

It seemed to help keep me on the straight and narrow there for a while myself Molly Moo.

I managed to keep  to 1250-1300 calories yesterday but did have two pieces of a kitkat (100) calories.   It was a healthy day otherwise, mainly protien and veggies.  I walked just under 10 km's but I didn't get round to working out with my weights like I usually do.  I will have to do that today sometime if I can or just continue again tomorrow.

Had my long walk this morning but in reverse this time.  It was actually a much faster pace walking in the opposite direction because although it was now 7 hills instead of 2, they were not killers like the two steep ones, which of course were downhill now.  We ended up walking much faster and our time was shorter and we were sweating much more but felt less abused. A little change is alway good for one.

Breakfast was peanut butter and jam on a slice of brown bread toast(205) I am so into peanut butter lately, I don't know what it is.  Can't live without it. Snack is a 100ml bio yoghurt (106)

Lunch is leftover butternut, peas and soya mince.(88) Snack is a  huge fruit smoothie made with 1 mango 1 large banana 1 tbsp flaxseed and 25g whey powder with a little water.(670) :yum:

No fat milk (90) Water 1.5L(0)

Supper will be carrots, greenbeans, pumpkin and a piece of grilled hake.(195)

Calories 1357 Protein 71, 20% fat 18.7, 12% carbs  244, 68% and fibre 29.7. A very high carb day, but it is all from fruits and veggies so it is healthy.  Very Happy with fat and fibre.  A Healthy day for me!

Theresa,

Thanks for stopping into my diary and for the encouragement

I know what you mean about the peanut butter    Especially if I have it on my favorite bread.............it's like I could eat the whole jar and the whole loaf.   Can you be addicted to bread and peanut butter????

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!  Definately a toast to a slimmer us in the future.  I permanently have Summer here but  a toast to a slimmer me by your Summer time :grin:

Now the not so good news.  Although I had my usual long walk of approximately 7km's this morning as well as a 100ml yoghurt(106) for breakfast, we had our SAWA meeting today and of course it is just snacks and desserts.  I will take a guess and hopefully should be close enough on the calories and estimate them as being 1200 calories worth of snacks and desserts.  :pig:   With my milk for coffees (90) that will leave me with 200 calories for the rest of the day.   I will snack on an orange later and will try have only veggies for supper.  If I can't then I will just make it a high calorie day.(maintenance)  I am not going to try and work out the percentages for the day but I know it will definately be a high fat day.  I will just try and salvage the rest of the day by eating no fat foods.

I must still work out with my weights for today and will try make another walk this evening.

Yesterday ended up being a maintenance day.  I ate an orange, bangers and mash and peas and 3 cookies and tea as well. Calories were between 2000-2200.  I did do all my walking though.  I have not been able to find the time this week to workout with my weights however.  Not a good thing.  I have managed to do all my walking though so I will just have to make a better effort with the weights next week.

Today after my long fast walk I had peanut butter and jam on sesame seed toast(205) and an orange.(62)

Lunch will be an egg mayo(no-fat) and lettuce sesame sandwich.(260)  A yogurt for a snack(106)

Milk for coffees (90) Water 1.5-2L(0)

Supper will be a salad with lettuce, onion, cucumber and tomatoes.(85) And a Savaroni pasta dish.(465) with a bun (120)

1 handfull of cheese knicknacks(65)

Snack will be tea and 2 cookies(110)

Calories for the day 1514 Protein 80, 21% fat  38.6, 23% carbs  208.9, 56% and fibre 16.8
I ended up on 2050 calories instead of as stated on the line above due to a small packet of Lays lightly salted crisps and a Break chocolate while watching a movie last night.

I went for my nice hour and a bit long walk this morning and it was a nice group walk today with 5 of us instead of two. :sheep::sheep::sheep::sheep::sheep: .

I had a breakfast/brunch with a beef pattie, pork banger/sausage, a fried egg, a fried tomato and a bun.(610)

Lunch was a yoghurt(106) and 2 lemon creams(110)  =  808.4 calories so far.  Protein 27% fat 33% carbs 40% and fibre a measly 2g :shock::nono:

Have a great Easter weekend everyone!
