| Sounds like WW is working very well for you! I've done it a couple of times, but never seem to stick with it. I'd rather invest the $$$ in the gym. I know WW is awesome, though.

This is probably the 6th time I've done WW, but this time its about learning how to balance my calories and not figuring out how many servings of orange cream sherbert I can have for my daily points allowance!
Having my girlies in town is awesome! Wednesday we went to the opening game of of the Tampa Bay Kightening (hockey). We got to see the Stanley Cup!!!! Thats right, we're cool like that! Ate lots of peanuts and drank my fair share of beer.
Thursday was a chill at home day trying to recoup from the hanging feeling in my belly. Ate out for breakfast, but only managied to get in a few bites of french toast and coffee. Lunch was something non-rememberable. Dinner too.
Friday I took the girls on a tour up the coast. We stopped at every 10 mile mark and had a drink, I was carefull to balance it with food and water though, as I was the DD. I introduced them to the wonders of wime! We did a tasting before lunch, took them out for seafood (I stuck with a veggie burger), stopped at a few beaches, showed them what a wine bar has to offer (tequila wine in a margarita, etc.), and topped it off a trip to the spngedocks and another few glasses of Sangria. Dinner for them was bacon wrapped scallops, walnut crusted salmon, and beef tenderlooin cabobs with veggies, all bbq'ed. I stuck with pb&j on whole wheat.
Good Times!

| Today I hit my quarter century! 25 feels the same as 21 though. :) Probably because I was busy growing a beautiful little girl on my 21st birthday! So far today I've had 3 small glasses of stawberry wine (from a local winery and made with locally growm produce... I'm big on that!)and wheat pancakes with strawberrry all fruit spread. YUMM! Now to plan the rest of today. Maybe the beaches? Maybe the pool? Maybe finding a sitter and going out all night? No... probably just the beach. Have a great day, I'll check in tomorrow!

GREAT JOB! & HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I agree that .5 pounds is much easier to lose than 2 pounds a week. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll definitely meet your goal by November. I also have a goal to be a size 9 by Thanksgiving. Right now I'm at a size 11/12 so I think I can do it!
Good luck! (Although you don't need it!) ;)

Thanks Corina!!
We did go to the beach on Saturday, but first we stuffed ourselves at Crabby Bill's. Luckily they are a seafood restaurant and there weren't many veggie options. Even their red beans were made with ham fat. I had a salad with 1 tbs of French dressing, some coleslaw and steamed mixed veggies... plus 3 servings of "A Day on the Beach" with rum, o.j., cranberry juice and some other yummies. Dinner was The Laughing Cat. I normally order an appetizer, or a veggie based meal, but it was my birthday and I did a little more than just throw caution to the wind. I had raviolli with this amazing pesto sauce and a couple 3 glasses of pinot grigio.

| Sunday was a little more of the same... beaches, drinks, drinks, and food. I brought my gals to the airport this a.m. around 6:30. My guy and I went to Busch Garden's and got to be adults playing like kids in an amusement park! I'd taken the day off and our daughter wanted to go to school, so it was a nice 1:1 date. We ended it with lunch at this wanna be hippee joint... The Mellow Mushroom... that serves some great vegetarian food options, but is not priced for the average Hippee! I had a little Greek salad that ended up being the size of an entre and a tempeh sandwhich on wheat that I wrapped up to go. Plus 2 locally brewed beers - who knew pumpkin beer would be so good? After my guy went to bed (he works tonight) I got to chat with a really good friend (the best sort of friend a person could ask for!)that was very influential and supportive of me becoming me in the ever so important late teens... I love you Val!!!

Now that the updates are said and done... I feel absolutely bloated!!! I feel like a stuffed sausage! Bleck and UGH and bleck some more! Lots of indulgences and I'm not feeling too hot right now. I'm even contemplating not weighing in this week. WW has a new system in which you can opt out of the weighin, so long as you at least go to the meeting. I guess research has shown that when people miss a meeting for fear of failing on the scale they eventually quite comiong altogether. Its best that they come back to the meeting to get back on track and the no weigh in option really helps. Although, I'm pretty curious to see exactly how much I messed up. My food choices weren't the worst, just not the best. Plus lots of drinking and inactivity. Any thoughts?

I just wanted to let you know it was awesome to talk to you!:) The feelings are mutual chicky;) I know you will get back on track, I've seen ya do it first hand. So you had a weekend of fun to celebrate good friends and your birthday. I say don't beat yourself up about it and consider it to be more of a treat. I look forward to reading more! If anything it will encourage me and give me some healthy new food choices. I love ya girl!

Thanks girly!
For some reason I was exhausted last night and went to bed a little early. That usually means that I wake up at 3 a.m. not sure what to do with myself and there was no exception this a.m. I was able to fall back asleep just in time to wake up again. I hate that! I have absolutely no desire to go to work today. I do not feel like doing anything even remotely related to work, but I will put on my happy face and try to get a few things accomplished today.
Breakfast was wheat pancakes with all fruit spread (Ilove that stuff!) and enriched soy milk. I don't remember if I mentioned this already, but Silk has an enriched version that has flaxseed oil in it and lots of other nutrients. Its kinda cool that I can my o-mega 3's without trying to drink a few teaspoons of oil a day!

| Your breakfast sounds yummy! I just had a cereal bar. :( Anyway, your birthday festivities sound really fun, and it's good that you're getting back on track. I hate that post-fun bloated feeling (which I am feeling right now).

Thanks Corina!
I decided to weigh in at WW because I didn't want to have gained 3 lbs last week annd work my butt off all week this week in order for the next weigh in to show little improvement. I wanted to know exactly how far back 4 days of wine and rum and pasta (with yummy pesto sauce!!!!) pushed me. So......... I gained 1.4 pounds and my current weight is an even 168 pounds. Thats right about where I was a month ago! Oh well, there is nothing I can do about last week except for treasure the memories I have from spending some quality time with some very good friends.
Thank God there is more to my life than dieting, otherwise I'd be miserable! Lots of good things have happened in the last few days. I've been researching colleges and degree programs. I only have a handful of college credits becasue I keep having to put it off for various reasons like having a baby and moving to a new state (out of state tuition is horrible!!) And I'm not at all interested in being in debt for the rest of my life so I'm a bit wary of loans. But then again I don't want to spend the next 10 years going to school part time and by the time I graduate I'm 35 years old getting my first teaching job anywhere they'll take me and start out making $28,000 per year either. In both situations it would be very difficult for me to retire... EVER! I've decided to go with the loan/grant/scholarships option, even though it means I'll be in a bit of debt for awhile. So I found a school I really like, The University of Phoenix. Its for working adults only and it is regionally acredited (not just nationally acredited). They have the same ciriculum and use the same texts as the big name schools, but I only have to go to school 1 day per week and each class takes 5 weeks to finish vs. a few months. They have lots of majors from business to health care admin., to human services/counseling to nursing to education. Plus, I only take one class at a time so all of my energy is focused on that subject. I guess it doesn't hurt that the main campus is located in my home town either:). Today I completed all of my admittance and financial aid applications and my orientation will be this Saturday. School officially starts on October 27th! I'm really excited that I don't have to wait until next January to start school. (By January I will have 2 classes said and done!! Can you hear the little girl squealing as you read this?:P) So thats that for now. I have to start putting together all of the details for my daughter's school's Fall Festival thats coming up in just over a week, not to mention the pile of paperwork in my office that is staring at me as I write this.
Have a great day everyone!

| I should mention that breakfast was a trip to the natural foods store by the WW meeting. I had 3 small plums (just a tad larger than a golf ball), fallafel with hummus, and soy vanilla yogert. While at the U of P campus I had a mini Baby Ruth, just the snack size portion. Lunch was a trip to Chipotle. I had a vegetarian fajita burrito with a little bit of rice, lots of beans, grilled onions and green peppers, 3 of their salsas, lettuce and touch of gaucamole. (Thats the closest to mexican I can get around here!) Fuids today have been strictly water, good for me!

| I was really proud of myself that I didn't stop for ice cream while running errands yesterday afternoon, thats a big change! Dinner was 2 slices of Hungry Howies chesses pizza with the garlic crust and lots of grapes. Breakfast today was 2 servings of Cream of Wheat made with Silk Enhanced soy milk. Each serving if the milk has 5 grams of fat in it, but its good fat and I'll watch my intake the rest of the day. We are just about out of groceries so I will have to get creative for lunch and dinner. Thats all for now, have a great day!

Thanks guys!
I was starving all day yesterday! I had 2 servings of Cream of Wheat made with my soy milk. That tided me over until about 11 a.m. Then I saw my client at Pizza Hut and had the lunch buffet: 3 slices of a medium thin crust veggie pizza and plate of salad (lettuce, cherry tomaotes, cucumbers, a touch of cottage cheese for creaminess, pinnapple, orange slices, broccoli and 2 tsp of French dressing), with diet Pepsi. I should note that when I've done WW before I would share a large thin crust veggie with my good friend, Val, and eat my fair share of hot wings, not to mention the regular soda and Real World marathons that kept us on our @sses.So there has been quite a bit of change in my eating habbits, but not enough to get out of the 160's. Anyway... Dinner was a huge salad of mixed baby greend topped with broccoli slaw, one sliced hard boiled egg, and a few crumbles of fresh Feta cheese. I topped it with a locally made Greek salad dressing that is only 25 cal for 2 Tbs. YUM! I was still hungry though. I forgot to mention that today I did stop for ice cream while running errands, a 3 point McDonald's ice cream cone! After dinner I shared the last of the grapes with my daughter. Then I ate 1 3/4 bags of the 100 cal 94% fat free popcorn, sharing only 1/4 of 1 bag with my daughter. (She's only 3, she can't be that hungry, right?) After that I ate a sugar free chocolate pudding from Jello and was still starving. I just couldn't get full, or even satisfied. My guy made Zesties, essentially battered fries that he added cheese to. Thankfully I skipped out on those and opted for water!
Not too much exercise lately. Yesterday I vaccuumed every nooked an cranny in the house for 45 minutes (I'm talking airvents, corners, behind furniture, behing the refridgerator, etc.) And I gave my guy a 30 minute back rub and 15 minutef oot rub. I'd say that counts as something.

Breakfast was a berry smoothie: 1 cup Stonyfield plain fat free yogert, a touch of pure vanilla extract, 2 packets of Splenda, and a handfull of frozen mixed berries (I love these bags - they cost anywhere from $.50 to $2.00 per bag and they're good all year!)blended until smooth. That was at 5:30 a.m. I was hungry by 7:30 and had ff popcorn and some unsweetened applesauce. Mid morning snack was a bag of dried fruit and raw nuts from the vending machine at work plus a can of mixed fruit in its own juices, also from the vending machine. Lunch has been whole wheat pasta garlic and onion marinera. Dinner will probably be another salad.
I absolutely love the FALL!!! It briskly cool, but not cold. The sun shines, but it doesn't hurt to open your eyes. I'm a fan of these things!

I haven't run in a very, very, very long time, as I'm sure I've mentioned before. I'm pretty sure I even spoke of wanting to run a marathon. Well I've got to start somewhere. Since its been such a long, long time I thought I'd better get some help. I did a mini search on google (I hope they are a stand up company, I use the site so much I'd hate to find out that they are evildoers and have to boycot them) and found some good info (very basic info) about starting a running program and then moving toward training for a marathon later... like way later. For anyone who might be interested just go to about.com and look up running, or type "running" into any search engine and it should come up in the top 10 on the list.
I will run today!! The weather is perfect. My guy went to bed early so he should be up early, making him available for some kid watchin'. I only plan to do salads for dinner so there is little work there. And the last really good reason to start today is that I've just put it off way too long.
Enough about that, I have to go back to work. Thats poopy. I day dream about the day when I have a job I'm eager to go to or have enough cash to do what I wanna!

Orientation went well. The guy presenting the programs U of Phx offers has a strong backround in education. He gave me his contact info for future reference. I love this adult learning philosophy. I have small classes, most of my books are online, everyone in attendance is working, including the instructors so there are great networking opportunities. I'm really excited!
Breakfast was Stonybrook yogert (I like this yogert because it contains a type of fiber that has been proven to help the body azbsorb the calcium in the milk, rather than excrete it through urination like humans usually do when consuming milk products)blended with fozen berries, Splenda and vanilla extract. I've always bought things to make smoothies in the past, but never ate them because I thought it took too long to make it, but as it turns out it takes less than a minute to put together a smoothie and less than another minute to rinse the blender out and go. Lunch was a Gardenburger riblet with a salad: mixed baby greens, broccoli slaw, feta and low fat/low cal Greek dressing.
I've gotta do alot of research today because I meet with my enrollment counselor on Monday and have to have all my ducks in a row in order to start on the 27th. I also have to meet with financial aid on Monday to do my final aide stuff, like prove I've paid my overdue taxes, etc. I hope everyone has a great day!

Dinner last night was tortilini (I have no idea if that is spelled right. Peter should add a spell check feature;))with spaghetti sauce and another salad. After a few drinks and games of pool I needed a snack and ate a mini wheat bagel (80 cal) and a large handful of raw almonds.
Not much exercise yesterday. I helped my daughter ride her bike, which entailed doing the squat walk. You know, the one where you walk bent over trying to push the bike while at the same time you're reminding her to pedall, but she rarely does. Its GREAT for your butt!;) I also cleaned the kitchen, spent 3 hours doing school stuff on the computer, talked with my mom for an hour, and did all of the regular weekend stuff. So at least I was busy.

Have I mentioned how great my man is?!?! He made this awesome breakfast: eggs sauted with garlic and onions with sliced avacado on the side and a couple slices of wheat bread. I don't know how he does it, but his eggs are the best I've ever had anywhere EVER!
We are going costume shopping in just a few minutes. Our daughter wants to be Spider-Man. I tried to convince her that she'd make a good Cinderella, but that didn't go over very well;) I almost had her convinced to be a dog/monkey/fish all in one, but I think she's pretty dead set on Spidey.

Krystin,
Congrats on choosing the school! And don't you love Stonyfield yogurt? Anyways... I'm excited to hear how classes go!
I love that you make your eating habits more about what you CAN eat. You always make delicious dishes! I am definitely going that route. Eating healthy should be something you want to do for the rest of your life. And you've got that covered!

Thank you Corina! I really needed to hear that! I don't always follow through with my "gettin' healthy" goals, but I try to do the best I can while still living my life. Sometimes I wish I was more like you and had the willpower and determination to make a choice and follow through on it no matter what. You motivate me!
My guy made pasta salad and minestrone soup for lunch yesterday. Then we went to the movies and I ate a handfull of low sugar chocolate covered cookie dough pieces and 12 oz diet soda. For dinner we went to Laughing Cat and I was set on getting the Insilatta Toscana (a really yummy salad), but I couldn't say no to the freshly maded ravioli with a light pesto sauce, so thats what I had. Luckily it wasn't as good as last time so I ate all of the veggies in the dish first, plus some veggies we ordered on the side, and then had 3 of the ravioli's. The waiter was really workin' his tip and gave us free dessert to go. D@MN him!! I ate half a slice of chocolate cake topped with chocolate mouse and about a 1/3 of a slice of Tiramisu. OOPS! Not to mention the dirnks before going to bed. Oh well...

Breakfast today was nothing. I never skip breakfast, but I slept in and then had too much to do too quickly and I forgot to grab something on my way out. Lunch was a vegetarian burrito from Chipotle with a small spoonful of rice, lots of black beans, lots of different salsas, gualcamole and lettuce. I skipped on the sour cream and cheese. Good for me! I washed it down with water. Dinner will be some sort of salad with protien thrown in somewhere, but I haven't planned that far yet.
I was a bit naughty and spent some money I don't technically have. I hate using credit cards, but I needed a new pair of running shoes 'cause my other ones are shot (they're like 7 years old). Now I can run without my feet hurting! I met with the financial aid lady and did all of stuff to get that squared away. I still need to meet with my enrollment counselor 'cause he left for lunch right when I went to see him. B@astard;)! I have 10 more days until the first day of class! I'd better get on that huge reading assignment. Even though I have 1 1/2 weeks I don't want to start out procrastinating (I'm notorious for that!)

Quick update: I took my measurements last Saturday and there aren't any big changes but I needed to repost this for my own good.
Current measurements in inches:
Chest below bust 35.75, bust 41.5, waist at belly button 37, hips 38.75, left bicep 12, left forearm 10, right mid thigh 19.25, right upper thigh 22.5, neck 13.75, right calf 14.5 Thats a total of 245 inches.
My goals are to have (they've changed a little):
chest below bust 34, bust stay the same (41.5), waist at belly button 28, hips 34, bicep 12 (but of muscle!), forearm 10, mid thigh 18 (muscle only please!), upper thigh 20, calf 14.5, and neck 13. Thats a total of 225 inches.
So my goal is to loose 20 inches!

I tested out my running shoes tonight. I forgot how good it feels to run! I only ran (walking when I needed to) for 18 minutes plus a 5 minute warm up and 3 minute cool down. Thats a total of 26 minutes. That isn't much, but its a great start! I'm really proud of myself for actually doing what I said I was going to do! YEAH ME!
Tomorrow night there is a free pilates class I'm gonna take. I think I can commit to running on Monday, Wednesday and Friday's. On Tuesday and Thursday's I will do a toning workout like a pilates video or some moves from Shape magazine or from online sources like Prevention.com and whatnot. Saturday's I will do my Yoga for Weight Loss video or some stretching routine. Sunday's will be rest day. I think that is a good plan for the next 30 days. Afer that I'll change it up a little.

Dinner last night ended up being cheese enchiladas. My guy cooked since I wasn't able to get home before 7 p.m. and our daughter's bed time is usually just after 8 p.m. It was great to have dinner ready when we came home. He threw in some chili powder, cumin and another spice, but just enough to add a little flavor. PLus he used some canned roasted green chilis and fresh sweet onion, topping it off with green chili enchilada sauce. He even skipped frying of the corn tortillas before cooking them, knowing that I'm watching my intake of added fats. My super love ! I also had a handfull of almonds and a banana before dinner, and a couple almonds with a glass of light soy milk after my run.

Breakfast was 2 slices of a higher protien/lower carb whole wheat bread (60 cal per slice and only 1 gram of fat) topped with 1 tbs of peanut butter and half a sliced banana on each slice. Light soy milk and a vitamin to drink. Lunch has been whole wheat pasta (Barilla Plus) with 1/3 cup spaghetti sauce and left over thin cut carrots sauted in a bit of oil and lots of garlic from The Laughing Cat. Water to drink.
Is it just me or is customer service non-exsitent these days? I have eyebrows that are so light they are translucent. More like non-existent. So yesterday I made an appointment to get them done (dyed and waxed) this morning before going on a field trip with my daughter's preschool class. The chick never showed up! I was pretty upset because I'd just made the appointment the night before and I didn't have alot of time on my hands. I couldn't wait for her to show up to work. I called her cell and left a message. I called the owner of the shop she rents her booth from and he couldn't get ahold of her either. This sort of thing almost never bothers me. I understand that Life happens... to everyone. There are alot of potential reasons for why she wasn't there it just got to me today because I'm busy working, parenting, volunteering, being a significatn other, going to school, and trying to take care of myslef. And I was really looking forward to having eyebrows again! Moving on...
The field trip was great! I was able to see the kids interact with their teacher and vice versa. It turns out their teacher is really good, but she doesn't get the support she needs in order to run her classroom the way it needs to be ran. We saw a "Little Red Riding Hood" puppet show. The kids were great! Not that I'm biased or anything:D, but they sat when asked to, they were quite and listened to the story, when other kids were being disruptive they all followed the directions given by the teacher. I was really inpressed and I think they had a good time too, which is what really matters.

I agreed to fill in for a coworker while he was on vacation and was asked to take care of one of his clients that filed for unemployment. Turns out there are a bunch of issues all intertwined with one another that I'm trying to sort through. The librarian that works in the evenings was particularly rude to me today. I didn't finish even half of what I was supposed to at work today. I put a huge bag of raw almonds in a counter top container yesterday. WHen I went to grab some out they tasted like pesticides and poison. The only thing I can think of is that the jar got sprayed when the roach guy came by. I tried to substitute with raw baby carrots, but that sucked even worse. There was this awfull slimmy stuff on it. I guess they'd been in the fridge a couple days too long. My guy made dinner again: angel hair pasta with a bit of sauce and sprinkled with fresh parm. cheese. He also sauted some garlic and onion in oil then added in a bag of frozen veggies (the soup kind that has carrots, various beans, broccoli, etc.) and some sherry cooking wine. YUMMY! I also had a snack of 1 cinnamon grahm cracker and a Philly Swirl popcicle. An hour after that I was hungry again and ate a banana. I'm hungry as I write this, but tomorrow is weighin day so I'll hold off on the sodium laden soup that sounds really good right now. I have alot to do tomorrow and should really go to sleep, but a piece of lemon supreme pie from Village Inn sounds fantastic right about now. Thats just stress talking though. I'm never stressed. Things don't stress me out very much and I'm slightly bothered that they are right now. I'm thankful that I have this site to write about it though.
I hope tomorrow is a better day 'cause although most of today went really well there were so many cr@ppy points spinkled in here and there that I didn;t enjoy it much. Perhaps I just need an attitude adjustment. Or maybe just utilize my time management skills a little better. Good night everyone, sweet dreams.Last edited on 19 October 2005 07:06 am by Krystin

| I weighed in at 166 this morning. I didn't go to WW and used the scale I have here. I decided that it makes a bit more sence for me to do ediets online than go to WW. I get to customize my plan to fit me, they offer an all vegetarian plan, I don't have to count points, and it only costs $20 per month (even with the added recipe feature) versus $48 per month for WW. Thats a savings of $28 per month, which just so happens to be the approximate price of a discounted monthly membership to the YMCA. Now I just need to get the discounted membership! :) I'm trying to find a day planner that goes from 7 am to 8 pm. I had one in Phoenix and it was wonderful! It helped me figure out how much time I have to get ready, account for travel time, work, go to school, schedule in study time, schedule in family time, meal prep, etc. Maybe I'll look for one online. Today I have to check on 4 clients, write up 18 pages of case notes, 17 monthly summeries, find an affordable meal for tomorrow's tupperware party at my daughter's school, find a good dinner recipe for tonight, get in a 30 minute run, and clean the master bath.

I still have all of my paperwork hanging over my head. I was so busy yesterday that I couldn't get to it. On a positive note, I ate well considering 2 of my meals were pizza. Breakfast was wheat toast with pb and bananas and a glass of soy milk. Lunch was 2 1/3 pieces of a medium thin crust cheese pizza at Pizza Hut. I also had a salad with lettuce, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers, pinnapple and orange slices. I topped it with 2 tbs cottage cheese and 2 tsp French dressing. Diet Pepsi to drink. I ate a bowl of vegetable minestrone for a mid-day meal and 2 slices of Hungry Howies large 3 cheese pizza with a garlic crust. Water to drink.
2 hours afer dinner I warmed up with a 5 minute walk then ran (walking when I needed to) for another25 minutes, and cooled down for 3 minutes. I stretched about 20 minutes later for a total of 7 or so more minutes. I'm proud of myself!

Yesterday's food was pretty good. I ate 2 servings of cream of Wheat with soy milk for breakfast. Lunch wasa Chipotle veggie burrito that I didn't fininsh. I had a snack of "Only 8" frozen yogert. It only has 38 or 40 calories per 4 oz serving and its really yummy. I had to do a bunch of prep work for the party tomorrow like making a fruit salad, etc. So my guy made dinner again. He is my hero! We had an Itallian pasta salad with soup (I had vegetable lentil) and Pillsbury crossaints, but I only had one of those.
I am still floating in paperwork. The good news is that the reason I have all the paperwork left is because I spent most of yesterday finding job leads for a client and ended up landing her an interview! So this morning I will be taking her to the interview. I have been selected to have my financial aid stuff varified, so I have to cross the Bay and drop off tax documents, etc. I have to fit in at least 2 other site visits. The party is tonight and I still have a couple things to pick up, plus finish putting together a veggie tray and several other things, and of course the set up. Not to mention, again, the paperwork that is going to kill me. Most of the people I serve are pretty anxious about hurricane Wilma so I'm sure there will be lots of prep work to do for that today. I guess I'd better start checking things off of that list! Have a great day!

I took my cliet to the interview, only the supervisor that was supposed to be there wasn't. He specifically asked that I be there in the morning, but his shift wasn't until the evening. I'm going to write it off to miscommunication, but I'm a bit perturbed about it. At least we got the application done and she seemed happy about that. I still have a ton of cr@p to do work wise so this weekend will be deveoted to clearing some of that out of the way. I also have to do some more varification stuff for financial aid and my reading/assignment for the first day of class.
Last night was the Tupperware party at my daughter's day care. I put out an amazing spread! I had 3 types of bread (pumpoernivkle, Itallian, and Itallian crusted with the works), a cheese tray (mozerella, swiss, colby jack and cheddar), a meat tray (ham, turkey, roast beef, and salami), a veggie tray (celery, snap peas, orange and green bell pepper slices, broccoli, cauliflower, baby carrots, grape tomatoes, red onion rings, and a few others), a fruit salad with cream cheese fruit dip (apples, strawberries, cantelope, pinnapple, and grapes), and tons of condiments like sweet pickles, dill pickles, jalepenos, peppercinis, black and green olives, etc. I also brought some stuffed breads, one with spinach and sundried tomatoesand chese and another with pepperoni and cheese. I had 3 desserts: angel food cake with sweetened berries, apple turnover and a cherry cheese turnover. I love putting together this sort of stuff! Too bad only 10 of the expected 30 parents showed up. Thats their loss! My fridge is stuffed with all this food now! At least they ate most of the meats and the rest is healthy stuff (minus the desserts I'll be handing over to my guy). I left the popcicles and ice cream there!

So food wise I did farely well. I had pb on wheat toast with a banana and soy milk. I had Boston Market's 3 side meal with mixed veggies, dill red potatoes, and sweet potato casserole for lunch, plus a piece of corn bread. I had Only 8 frozen yogert for a snack. I had a veggie sandwich on pumpernickle, fruit salad, a piece of the spinach/tomato bread for dinner, and a 3/4 of an inch slice of angel food cake with a few sweetened berries and a touch of whipped cream for dessert. Thats not bad considering all of the food that was available!
Today we are going to explore some beach towns with cool little boardwalks covered with specialty shops so I'm off to get ready for that.:)Last edited on 22 October 2005 04:34 pm by Krystin

Having all of this food in the house has proven to be BAD, BAD, BAD! Breakfast yesterday was a piece of the cherry cheese turnover, a piece of the spinach/sun dried tomato bread, fruit salad with a touch of cream cheese fruit dip, and something else, I can't remember. Lunch was a veggie sandwich on 2 huges slices of pumpernickle bread (it probable equates to 4 slices of bread) with fat free miracle whip, mustard, orange and green bell peppers, 2 thin slices of swiss cheese and 2 thin slices of mozzerella cheese, lettuce, and some other veggies. i had a handful of Sun Chips, a serving of veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, etc) with light ranch, and more fruit salad. I had a banana for a snack. My guy made an Indian dish (not Native American) with tomaotes, chickpeas, rice, onions and tons of flavorful seasonings. I had a few drinks of rum with diet DP and then I finished off a can of raw unsalted almonds.
No exercise yesterday either, unless you count creating a pelvic Hyku with my as exercise.

| Today will be a great day food wise! I have decided that I am not a garbage can and if some of the food goes to waste its okay. I should not have to pay for it twice: once at the store and again on my body. Breakfast was mostly a mostly egg white scramble (just 1 yolk for the entire pan) with green and orange peppers, onions, garlic, and some slices jalepenos, topped with a few sprinkles of parmasean cheese. Soy milk and water to drink, plus 2 slices of low cal bread (40 cal per slice) with a touch of light butter on each slice.

Exactly!
When you think about it it's not really logical at all to think that if you eat something you don't want or need it's not wasting it.
It would be true if you saved it for another meal, but to eat it instead of saving it or trashing it is still wasting it. Or should I say waisting it!

| My snack yesterday was raw veggies with some light ranch dip, just a little dip though. I finished the rest of the fruit salad which was good for me, tasted good, and was fairly low in calories. My guy took us out to Tex-Mex. I ordered 3 cheese enchiladas each covered in a different sauce: ranchero, tomatillo, and sour cream. It came with like 3 cups of spanish rice mixed with corn, tomato, onion, and spices. I gave the sour cream enchilada to my daughter and only ate 1 1/2 of the other 2 enchiladas. I had a few bites of the rice, but left 90% of it on my plate. Good for me! I also turned down my guy's offer to get fried ice cream, which is one of my favorite desserts. He was really good about the way he offered it though. He just asked if I was interested and when I said I really shouldn't he asked for the check and we were on our way 'cause he knows that I will talk myself out of my good decisions if we hung aroud any longer. He is so supportive. Its great that I don't even have to ask him to be, he just does it. Dinner was a slice of the spinach/sundried tomato cheese bread, a banana, and a few peanuts.

| My poor honey had to work all night last night and it turned out to be supper stressfull for him. Even after all of that he made me breakfast: his famous egg scramble with the same goodies as yesterday and 2 slices of low cal wheat toast with a tsp of light butter on each slice. Since most businesses are closed due to Hurricane Wilma I get the day off. To celebrate I made a morning Bloody Mary with mix and tomato wine. Because a cold front is coming right behind the hurricane the weather is cold, windy and rainy... the perfect combo for an afternoon movie... my guy and I thought that we'd take our girly to see that movie about the horse that gets hurt and a little girl nurses it back to health to race again, I think its called Dreamer. Anyway, when we brought it up to our daughter and she said that she wanted to go to the movie with just me after her dad went to sleep instead of going with everyone after he wakes up. She made sure to throw in that she loves her dad, but she just wanted to spend some time with her mom (in 3 1/2 year old lingo, of course). It was heartbreaking! I felt really loved, but at the same time I know it crushed her dad. To all of you moms that might happen across this, how do you handle that? I want to respect her honesty and try to understand that she was just trying to say she wanted to hang out with her mom and wasn't trying to hurt her dad, but I had to explain to her that it did hurt her dad. I tried to do it without making her feel gulty for wanting to spend time with me while still letting her know that her dad loves her very much and was disapointed that she didn't want to spend time with him as well. I told her that she and I could play this morning on the computer and do some painting, etc. and when her dad gets up we can all go to the movie. She was ok with that, which is great. But then I was a dumb parent and asked her later what she would have prefered and she said to go to the movies just the 2 of us. Sometimes I make the worst parenting choices. I should have left it alone. I wasn't trying to make myself feel better that she really wanted to just be with me or boost my ego, but it sure came across that way. I was just trying to start a conversation about how she and I can spend time with each other doing other things and it came out all wrong. This is the hard part of parenting and from what I hear it just gets worse. Last edited on 25 October 2005 04:23 pm by Krystin

I ended up having a great conversation with my daughter and it all seems to have worked out. I really want to be a good parent and from time to time I get myslef into situations that I have to think over before responding/interviening. We did play some learning games on the computer together and then painted a few pictures. She is a great artist! Plus we cuddled on the couch watching Dora for awhile before nap time, so we had some great quality time together. I really need to make sure that my guy and I both get time with our daughter when the other parent isn't around. Its really important to me that each parent has 1:1 bonding time, plus its so nice to look forward to a date with our girly. Its awful to admit, but from time to time I get caught up in the routine of getting ready for work, dropping my daughter off at day care, working, taking care of school stuff, coming home and doing dinner, and then just lounging. I need to make it a priority to spend at least an hour every evening doing something more. To be honest, its been a week since I've read her a bedtime story. That is HORRIBLE!! I need to make an evening activity plan to make sure we get to do all of the things that make having a kid and being a kid fun. Like going to the library once a week, going to the park outside our backyard, riding her bike, roller skating, playing tag, having her help make dinner, etc. Today I commit to remembering that my family is my priority.

Lunch yesterday was a slice of spinach/sundried tomato bread, a banana, a few bites of macaroni salad, a few bites of potato salad, and I'm sure I scrounged around for a few more bites of whatever i could find! My guy took us to dinner at the mall before seeing our movie. We had curry noodles with veggies and slabs of seasoned/flavored/sauced tofu. I was really proud of myself that I stopped when I was full. At the movie I brought in my own candy: Mike and Ikes. The entire box was 220 calories, but that is less than any of the boxes I could have found at the theater itself. I ate 3/4 of it sharing the other 1/4 with my daughter. I chilled with my guy after putting the girly to sleep having 2 large rum and diet dp's with a handfull or so of macadamia nuts. I didn't realize how much fat is in them: 23 grams per 1/4 cup serving! And they only have 2 grams of protien for that amount of fat! I probably consumed 80 grams of fat from that alone! They were very worth it!

| Kudos to you, Krystin, for being a great mom, and also for having the forethought to smuggle in your own candy at the movies!!! And I'm glad you enjoyed the macadamias! :)

Thank you Blushrose!
I re-read alot of my entries and there is such a theme going. I do well for about a week, loose 2 pounds, do poorly for several days, gain 2 pounds, and holding on to every last leftover thinking I'll need it for something or feeling guilty for throwing it away. I'm seriously working on this though. It took me 3 years to break the habbit of finishing everything on my plate even if I was full, so I'm expecting that this will take just as long:). Having this journal to track trends in my thought processes is great!
I weighed in a day early and as expected I'm back up to 168. I'm going to figure out a way to get in more exercise. I think this is the only thing that will help. I'm not willing to feel hungry or go without a daily treat. Trying to commit to either of those things just results in me saying. "All bets are off...Lets eat cake!" There is a park near my office so I have some workout clothes packed and plan to go for a run/walk. After that I'll drive across the bay for dinner with the vegetarian group. I'm going to try and not stuff myslef, although I'm sure I'll eat just a tad past full. To compensate I will try to eat low cal super filling foods like all of those leftover veggies in the fridge.

OMG! I finshed about 2/3 of the paperwork I had to do, but that leaves another 1/3 left. I still have all of my school work to do before the first day of class (Thursday). I am going to have to kick lots of @ss to get to where I need to be in the next 2 days. I know I can do it though. I'm going to have to work until 6 or 6:30, which means skipping my workout if I want to get to the veggie dinner on time. It is a sacrifice I'm willing to make though. With most of my close friends in AZ I depend on these sorts of social outlets to keep my sanity! I will fit in a workout late tonight or first thing in the morning.
I know I say this alot, but I am very greatfull to have this site to vent. Taking 2 minutes to write about life stops me from finding a Twix bar to make me feel better when things start to spiral downward. That is a major behavior change that I'm very proud of!
