Thanks for that info on the delivery for HHA..........so, by April 3rd, they could be here!
Is that crunch and tuck thing hard to do? They always make everything look so easy on TV!

For me - yes, it's hard. This 'Tilt, Tuck and Tighten' thing looks and sounds easy, but it's hard for me to do AND move at the same time...Yikes. I cannot multi-task during exercise! But, again...it's only been 2 times so maybe I'll get better?

OK.............drumroll, please!
Tuesday, March 20..................163.8
Tuesday, March 27..................160.6
I don't know if it was the Friday/Saturday change in eating or the walking I started doing again now that the weather warmed up, or a combination of the two (probably), but finally the scale is moving!
I FEEL SO SKINNY TODAY!
Of course, I know I'm not, but it's been so long since I felt good about the scale moving..........because it hasn't moved! Too bad I (we) let ourselves be ruled by that little devil ! But it does feel so good when it moves on down the dial!

Great Job Hisgal, you are such an inspiration............hopefully my weight will start falling off now that I am back to working out everymorning, and walking on both my 15min. breaks and then after dinner. I am also working 10 hr days, so my work day is about 12 hrs long..........with the drive and all. Just have time at night to eat, walk and then sleep. Will post more later. You are doing great...........and guess what, no coke for two days..........not even diet.
GREAT JOB! GOD IS STAYING WITH YOU, AS YOU ARE WITH HIM.

Thanks, Judy ............but your "inspiration" really had a splurge today!
I was my high calorie/high carb day. I had already decided to go a little higher than the 1800 calories I was having for my high days. In fact, I'd planned a trip to McDonald's for a low fat cone....it worked into my totals. So, I get to McD's and their ice cream machine is broke. I was just about tasting that cone during my entire Curves workout I was devastated when this girl had the nerve to tell me to come back tomorrow, it should be fixed by then. Well, I wanted to scream at her............WELL, TOMORROW ISN'T MY HIGH CALORIE DAY!!!!..........but, I didn't . So, I traveled on down the street to Arby's....pulled through the drive-thru to order a cone.........but, they don't do cones Now what do I do? I'd been tasting this cone since the night before, when I was figuring out my food for today, and figured out I could work it in. I really wanted it on Monday, when it was 82 degrees outside........but, no I waited for my high calorie day. WHAT WAS I THINKING???? So, I head back downtown, toward the office...........and pass a DAIRY QUEEN!! Well, what I'd really been craving for about a month, was a DQ Blizzard I remembered that I had a coupon in my purse for a Blizzard. So, I pulled it out to check it.......and it was GOING TO EXPIRE ON SUNDAY!!! Seemed like a sign to me...........so I pulled into the DQ and ordered a small Blizzard. However, the good thing about this story is that although I always get one with choc, caramel and nuts..........this time I choose a Hawaiian Blizzard, with banana and pineapple. I couldn't find it listed online at the DQ site, but the closest I could find was a banana split Blizzard............which was one of the lowest calorie ones on the list. And the percentages for the day ended up at 49.7% carbs The calories were just a little higher than I'd orginally planned.
ONE PIECE OF GOOD NEWS.........I got an email today, from Beachbody, saying my Hip Hop Abs DVD had been shipped. So, 5-7 business days should bring it here sometime next week!
Well, it's getting late, so I better record this 3 day low/1 day high cycle.
SUNDAY, MARCH 25 TO WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28
SUNDAY: egg beaters w/cheese, 2 sl. wg toast, 11 almonds...........4 oz turkey, 2 serv. romaine, 2 T. low fat ranch, 1 sl wg toast, dill pickle spear, sugar free jello w/ ff cool whip.........Slimbody shake, 1/2 c. strawberries, Nevd bar..........15 ww Ritz crackers, 2 T. hummus, 1 cod fillet........6.5 oz. pork loin chop, very well trimmed
MONDAY: Slimbody shake, 1 sl peanut butter toast........1 cod fillet, nevd bar......small salad, 3 ckn strips, 1/2 apple, 1/4 serv crushed walnuts, 3 T. low fat rasp. vinegrette drsg........ckn burrito, 11 raw almonds..........Slimbody shake, 1/2 c. strawberries, 4 sugar free lifesavers
TUESDAY: egg beaters w/ 2% cheese, 1 sl. wg toast, 2 strips turkey bacon, EAS protein drink..........Nevd bar, Slimbody shake........small salad, same as Monday........tuna salad on wg flat wrap, 11 raw almonds.........6 oz. shrimp, 1.5 T. cocktail sauce, sugar free jello w/ fat free cool whip
WEDNESDAY (HIGH DAY): 1 c. Fiber One cereal, 1 c. lt soy milk, 1/2 c. cottage cheese.......1/2 wg pita, 2 sl turkey, 1 T. lf veggie cream cheese spread, 1 T. 2%shreds, Nevd bar...........Subway turkey breast wrap, double meat, baked Lay's potato chips, small Hawaiian Blizzard..........1wild rice venison brat, 1 light bun, 1 c. sauerkraut, 3 serv. green beans..........1 mini bag lf popcorn, Slimbody shake w/ 1 c. tropical fruit
And all that wonderful food, looks like this nutritionally:
calories...........protein..............fat....................carbs............fiber
SUNDAY: 1684.........174.6gr/41.5%.....53.4gr/28.5%......30%..........18.2gr
MONDAY: 1469........168.75gr/45.9%.....39.4gr/24.1%....30%...........27.95gr
TUESDAY: 1470.......168.3gr/45.8%........39gr/23.9%.......30.3%.......26.33gr
WEDNESDAY (HIGH): 2229....139.4gr/25%....62.65gr/25.3%....49.7%...64.2gr
This morning the scale was still holding at 160.6..........although it flashed at 158 something for a second!
Tuesday's exercise: YBB hip hop abs, 2 mile walk
Wednesday exercise: Curves and stretching, raining (no walk)
I've done several low/high cycles now, and although my scale was not moving fir several weeks, I feel like I've lost fat...........so maybe it does burn the fat???? I can feel my hip bones more, and my thunder thighs have room in pants that were tight before. It's hard to explain, but things just feel different, even though the scale wasn't moving.
I'm really excited about what I can do for weight loss, after I work my new exercise DVD's into most days, and keep up the walking when the weather is nice.
I feel like God is helping to make a new me The new Arbonne skin care set has my face feeling as soft as a baby's butt...........the weight loss is giving me a new body (soon) like I haven't had for 30 years..........the exercise videos are going to shape and tighten even more. I'll be a NEW ME! I can't wait for maintenance

You know, a Big Mac doesn't even appeal to me. I've really gotten away from red meat over the last 4 years. Now, a chicken quesadilla..................that's another thing! And those dreaded sweets! But only once in a while..........I think with the hormones go sweets and salty things
I did not step on the scale today! Never like to do that after a high calorie day
Still need to figure out my 5th meal for today. When I get home from work late, I just don't feel like making much! Might just have a protein shake.........maybe strawberry flavored with frozen strawberries Of course, that may not keep me in my 35% carb range. I have to go do some figuring.
EXERCISE TODAY:
Yoga Booty Ballet (YBB) Live: Hip Hop Abs
Curves and stretching station
2 mile walk on park path
I am pushing it a little bit...........hope the knees aren't sore tomorrow. But, I am feeling so good right now, with stepping up the exercise this week. The shoulders and first rib are a little sore from the one exercise on YBB-you lay your forearms on the floor, with hands clasped and wrists pressed to the floor........then legs extended, balance up on your tippy toes, straighten out body and hold that pose. They say it's good core work, and my core can feel it! I think the push ups are what I feel in the shoulders, too. But, looking at what's all hanging, when I'm in that pose, I can see that there's very little muscle on the front of me..............it could blow in the wind, the way it hangs! Gravity and loose skin..............yuck!

Oooooh! Thanks Trim and Patchers! "Distinguished" Good to feel important to someone! Trim.......you probably haven't been a wife and mother long enough to feel taken for granted! Sure don't feel "distinguished" around here! Like Peter says, the titles are just for fun
I just love my kitties .............my baby is Sprite, and is about 1 1/2 yrs old. She is only about 6 lbs, but was the runt of the litter, so maybe that is why she's still so small. She tears around the house, like she thinks she has to cover the rain forest in one day! My big boy is Squirt, and he is 9 years old in Sept. and weighs about 11 lbs. He was acting like an old man for years, but with the baby in the house, he's getting his life back. Now he tears around with her, and plays with her toys. Now that our youngest is getting married, they are our "kids". The good thing about them is, if we want to go away for the weekend, we can just give them lots of food, water and a clean litter box and go. We don't have to worry about any wild parties while we are gone LOL! I'm no expert with the editing of pictures, so not sure why the new avatar is so fuzzy. I will play around with it, when I have more time.
I was a little sore this morning from my 3 activities yesterday, so I skipped the workout DVD's this morning. And it rained all day...........so no walk. We are in a flash flood watch as the rivers keep rising, and we have the potential for a lot of rain. At least we didn't get the tornadoes like OK and TX. Hope all my cyber friends from OK & TX are alright!
Exercise: Curves circuit and stretching
Food for the day: right on target.......I'll post it after the full cycle, like I usually do.
I'm in charge of the brunch at church on Palm Sunday, so it will be an extremely busy weekend again. Will have to go buy the food tomorrow, and the decorations, paper goods and door prizes. Plus I want to shop for a few things for the grandkids for Easter, being I will be baby-sitting them from Thursday night to Easter . Sure not taking 3 kids (6, 4, and 4 months) shopping! That was hard enough when I was younger and used to it
Better try to get some more info entered into Quicken tonight..........so little time left until tax time. Gotta get it done.........................Have a Blessed weekend!

Hi Hisgal,
Sounds like you have a busy week coming up.........Well, my food and calorie intake was not good this week.....all from poor planning........didn't even have time to grocery shop. I ate a lot of things on the fly, recorded everything......totals look awful. Well tomorrow, is grocery shopping and then I will make up my meals tomorrow and freeze the lunch meals and have all the snacks pre packed and in the fridge or in my car, depending on if they need to be in the fridge........so next week....watch out, between the correct foods, curves and my 3 15min walks this blasted fat is in trouble.
Have fun with the grand kids, I watched my grandson today after work, he is 4 months old and so much fun....he just giggles giggles and gurgles.....how wonderful to have no worries in the world at all. Aah the life of an infant.
Will post more tomorrow. Oh and look I am Distinguished too........LOL

What a day! Can't believe it's almost midnight..........gotta be up early in the morning to get those eggs and pancakes going for the brunch at church.
Wild day.........spent in Rochester shopping for grandkids for Easter, and the rest spent running from grocery store to grocery store trying to find the best fruit and all the groceries I need in the morning for the brunch. Meals were thrown together, mostly eaten out, with no pre-planning. Yikes!
Calories-1690 protein-32.8% fat-24% carbs-43.2%
Not good, when it should be about 1400 calories and 30% carbs for my low day
However, I did get my "grandma fix" for a short while
Exercise: Richard Simmons Sweatin to the Oldies
When we got home about 8:30 tonight, I saw my Turbo Jam DVD's had arrived! Unfortunately no time to check them out, and I twisted something in my back and hip this afternoon, while running to a store in a downpour Well, all the eggs are cracked open and scrambled and delivered to church, along with the fruit. The ham is diced, but I still need to wrap the door prizes and pull together the extra things I need to bring with, to make all go smoothly.
Congrats, Soontobeme, on being a distinguished member! Hope next week goes well for you! My scale is stalling out again. Not sure what's happening next.......but will have to shake something up!

Well, not a good day at all! It was suppose to be my high day..........and it was! A very high day, calories and carbs, I'm sure.
I'm sure it's mostly due to stress and lack of sleep, that got me so badly off track. The day started out OK, with an inhaled bowl of Fiber One and soy milk. I drank coffee while preparing the food for the brunch at church........avoided all the Easter Candy and sweet rolls/muffins/doughnuts. Probably because I didn't get that second meal around 11:00, that I'm used to. I ate around 12:30........scrambled eggs with ham, 3 small pancakes w/syrup, a fat free cranberry orange muffin and 1 c. mixed fruit with more coffee.
But, after I got home and got my kitchen stuff all put away, I grabbed one of the cinnamon rolls I made. Then got into the whole wheat crackers with hummus and some fat free cream cheese while waiting for supper. And the supper I made wasn't good either (tasted good though ) I made a casserole with skinless chicken breasts, low fat cream of chicken soup and Stove Top Stuffing (made with only water, no butter). I had two big helpings I feel stuffed, but still have that snacky feeling...........but don't feel like I could eat another bite.
Good thing tomorrow's another day...........I know I will be in control again.......I need a really good night's sleep!!! Grrrrrrrrr! Only one week left of the Easter Challenge and I don't think I'll make 10 lbs.

It sounds like we BOTH had a kinda bad eating day yesterday. I started off good too, but by the time it was bedtime - the calories had gotten too high to even bother counting. But today IS another day. And back in control...hopefully.
Great to hear your Turbo Jam arrived!
Only one week left of the Easter Challenge and I don't think I'll make 10 lbs.
I KNOW I won't LOL. But I knew beforehand that 10 lbs wasn't likely for me, but I figured I'd aim for the stars...and be happy if I made it to the halfway point. I still need another pound to even make that! But it's all good...all in due time.

Same for me, Scoobs! But, a girl can dream, right? Where would we be without them?
OK, so I did Learn and Burn this morning.........and I'm glad no one was watching.....but, I think I'm hooked already My hip/knee/pelvis has been hurting since Saturday night, when I must have twisted it running through the downpour from the van to Kohl's. At times, I can hardly lift my left leg. This morning it felt a little better, so I started learning the moves. It actually went OK, and I felt good. But, the longer I've sat at my desk today, the worse it's felt. I skipped Curves today and my walk that I'd planned, because I kept tripping over rugs when I couldn't lift that leg to walk. I called my chiro, so that will mean a few days without exercising. I will try Learn and Burn again in the morning before I go see her. Then I'll have to take at least 2 days off, to let everything kind of settle into place.......I don't want to pull anything out of adjustment and have wasted that money
On the weight loss news........I succumbed to 2 more cinnamon rolls and 7 black (are there any other kind) jelly beans before I went to bed. So, obviously I didn't jump on the scale this morning.
I started the carb-cycling on Feb. 21st. I don't think it's for me either! I weighed 168.8 lbs then and 7 weeks later I was at 160.6.......a loss of 8.2 lbs. I am getting tired of the higher protein...........I miss my fruits and veggies! I worked a certain amount of them in, but to maintain the 30% carbs for 3 days in a row, I had to have very small portions of them. From what I read in BFFM, I expected better results. Maybe it's my body type??
This week, I am just going to eat healthy, and keep my calories in a decent range. NO MORE CARB CYCLING! I am going to enjoy Easter........and probably won't make my goal for the Easter Challenge. Although I see I only have 1.8 lbs to go. I didn't realize I was that close But, with my chiro adjustment, and not exercising for a few days, I doubt I can drop that off. If they weren't predicting cold and snow again for the next few days in MN, I could at least go for a walk on those 2 days after my adjustment. And if my body is on time, Sunday will be the first day of TTOM. Not a good day to have the final weigh for the Easter Challenge!!!
My plan for after Easter, is to go back to more of an "Eat to Live" type diet......with lots of fruit and veggies, and lots less animal protein. That worked so well for me in the past, but I am always exploring new ways to eat, to lose the weight and keep it off. Should be coming up on a good time of year for fresh fruits and veggies. I found that the last time I did that plan, that I really got to loving veggies! I've always loved fruits! But, now I almost always eat the veggies off my plate first! I'm also a little worried about my cholesterol with eating so much animal protein. I need to schedule my physical (should have done it in December, but have been too busy) and when I do go, I don't want to see my cholesterol has gone up!
Exercise: Turbo Jam Learn and Burn
So, that's my update for today! Bye for now, my cyber friends

Oh baby doll, I feel ya! I wasn't sure I'd make my challenge either and I'm not positive I can make the one I set for my mom but I'm gonna go for it! You're good at figuring out what to try next sooooo
Just play with your calories for a week.. Forget about carbs, just watch the calories over a week and see what happens. I have lost my most weight since I have been cycling calories (as I call it ) some days high, some low.. maybe your body has figured your lil high day out so mix it up but balance it out, ya know what I mean?
I've been all over the place calorie wise and my metabolism is flying and I know it!!
There isn't one way to lose weight... so shake it up again and I betcha you'll start losing again. Shooey you've been through the hard part now cruise through these last few pounds Your exercising like never before, so it's gotta be your diet.
I tell ya I had a 2 slices of pizza late one night, an ice cream bar and still woke up a few pounds lighter :o) but at weeks end I was at a good total to lose weight, ya know what I mean?.... everyday doesn't have to be the same, that's just not normal hee hee
You can do it, Hisgal

This is kind of what I'd decided to do for this week. I know what is in the foods I eat......but with carb-cycling gone, so is the planning. I was getting so regimented! I needed to do that, to keep on plan and to see what the plan would do for me. Maybe I mis-understood the book (BFFM), but I got the impression that there was a danger of the weight falling off too fast with carb-cycling! That just wasn't happening with me.
I didn't get on the scale on Monday morning, but this morning was my regular weigh-in day.
Tuesday, March 27: 160.8
Tuesday, April 3: 162 that is 1.2 lbs!!!
I started carb-cycling on Wed. Feb 21st at 168.8...........so this was the end of 6 weeks of carb-cycling and I was down a total of 6.8 lbs., going by today's weigh in. I wish someone else would give it a serious try, so I could see how they handle it and what their scale does.
So, I am back to the drawing board! Like I said to Smallerme above, I am going to eat healthy foods this week, but I'm not planning out anything! I am sick of planning!!! So, Monday looked like this:
Monday, April 2: 2 serv. muesli, 1.5 c. mixed fruit........1/2 wg pita, 2 slices turkey, 1 Tbsp 2 % cheese shreds, 1 Tbsp. low-fat cream cheese, 1/2 c. 1% cottage cheese..........chicken burrito made with wg flat wrap, 2 chicken strips, 2 T. shreds, lettuce, salsa, 2 serv. cole slaw mix with low-fat sesame ginger drsg....1/3 lb grilled turkey burger, wg flat wrap, 2 serv. romaine, 2 T. low-fat raspberry vinegrette drsg......Slimbody protein shake (strawberry flavored), 1 cup frozen strawberries(in shake), 1 grapefruit
And all of that totals up to: calories-1519, protein-146.4gr/38.6%, fat-30.5gr/18.1%, carbs-43.3%, fiber-47.8gr (now that's more like it again!)
I should be able to tell more of a pattern as the week goes on, but when left to just choose whatever I want.......I can see by the first 2 days that I tend to choose foods that are low in fat, high in carbs, and high in fiber. Not all bad, I suppose.......that's basically what I ate to drop the first 60 lbs, several years ago. The problem I had then, was that I raised my triglycerides way too high with too much bread, rice, pasta..........but at the time it was not whole grain choices. I also ate a lot of low-fat granola bars and low-fat "chips". I counted only calories and fat. So, maybe that wouldn't happen this time, being I now almost always, choose starches that are whole grain.
I did start the Learn and Burn Turbo Jam this morning. By the time I got home from work last night, my hip was so tight that I was dragging my left leg. I couldn't even lift it to walk......pretty painful. So, I headed off to my fav. chiro this morning. Much better now, but still having a little trouble with rotating movements (rotating it when I walk to the left or right). My stretches helped this morning, and I just reviewed the basic 11 moves.....then ran out of time. I felt OK with it.....maybe even looser than when I woke up. I will lay off the exercise for 2 days to let the adjustment "settle". That works well, as I am going to lunch tomorrow with my sisters-in-law.....and they chose a dreaded "buffet" to go to. Pray for strength for me to resist temptation!
One more thing about "carb-cycling".........I am thinking that it really did burn the fat! Even if it didn't show up particularly well on the scale. Now I really wish that I'd invested in some skin-fold calipers. I noticed last week, that I was feeling more hip bones, but didn't think too much about it. But, on Saturday I wore my smaller size 12 jeans (of the 2 pair I'd been wearing) and they were pretty loose.....to the point that I didn't think they looked very good. So, Sunday morning, I dug out an old pair of size 12's. They are pure denim....NO STRETCH IN THEM AT ALL! I borrowed them to my daughter one time, when I was up in weight and when I got them back I swore she shrunk them! Even as the scale dropped down, they were still so tight I could barely get into them, much less zip them..........when I should have been able to at that weight. When I first bought them, I wore them at 163-4 lbs. and they were OK, but they fit very good at 157........just loose enough, but not too loose. I kept trying them on last summer and again in the fall when I hovered just above 160 and they were always tight. I didn't think 3 lbs difference should be that much difference in fit in the jeans. (especially when I have been working out at Curves for over 2 years-3 yrs ago when I last wore the jeans, I hadn't done any workouts) Well, Sunday morning when I put them on, they fit and felt wonderful! (at around 161) Just like they used to! Now we are having a cold spell in MN, down to the 30's again and snowing right now. So, this morning when I left for work, I put on those size 10 cords I started wearing about a month ago! And I couldn't believe how much room I had in them.
Now, I did a few sessions of the YBB hip hop abs........but I didn't think I did enough to make such a difference (maybe 3-4 times?) And it definitely seems to be waist and abs that have the difference.....along with the thighs. So, I am thinking the carb-cycling really did burn fat.....I feel somewhat leaner.
Sorry the post is so long........but I am at a point where I need to think these things through and make some decisions. Not sure why the scale was up this morning.......hope this week doesn't blow my Easter Challenge weigh-in. I was just too stressed to continue all the work of figuring out foods for the carb-cycling. I'm just anxious to get back to learning Turbo Jam and getting some warmer weather again, so I can go for more walks before I start working full-time. (I am part-time until May 1, so have flex hours.......that's why I can get Curves and walks all in during my lunch break!)
Thanks to my buddies, for hanging in there, and reading all my ramblings. I can't always see what's right in front of my face, but if something is jumping out at you, please let me know. I have been praying so hard already this week for guidance from God, as to where I should go from here. Maybe he will guide me through my cyber-friends
Blessings,
Hisgal

Hisgal.
First-there is something to intuitive eating. You try different things and see what works. I am sure you will figure it out. The point is, you are much much healthier now than you used to be!!! Be proud of that!! Even if the scale is up 2 lbscould be anything like water or muscle or whatever. Dont stress. It doesnt help. Wish I could help you out and try Carb cycling but its not for me. Did a lower carb thing before my wedding (on a dr. recommendation) and lost 8 pounds and a few months later put on 12 lbs. I just naturally crave carbohydrates--my body must need them. I like your diet this week--looks really healthy!!
second: but MORE IMPORTANTLY!!!!!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS ON A MAJOR NSV!!!!!!!!!
really hisgal, those jeans and pants are a PERFECT indicator that you have burned the fat off!!! You go girl!

Hisgal - Just like OWF said, those pants ARE an indication of fat loss - regardless of what that evil scale says. That's something that's not a fluke or coincidence...they are pants - they either are tight, perfect, or loose...there's just no denying a change in fit! Total proof right there!
I sure wish I had that perfect eating plan that would fit me, too. I wish I had perfect advice, too LOL. I am amazed continuously by all the careful analyzing and thought you diligently put into your eating. I envy that...I am just so lazy. If you were to ask my percentages of anything - I would blush. I can barely stand the calorie counting alone! I do try to get a good balance of healthy carbs & protein...that's about as far as I have made it to this point. I can surely understand how frustrating it must be for you when you put so much time into it. I would be sick of all the planning, too. It's hard enough for me to remember to eat 5 times a day...and remember to take my lunch and snacks to work! That's about all I can handle. But, eventually I may have to change my ways...to reach my ultimate goal I may have to take Planning 101 soon.
Sorry to hear about your hip trouble! Glad you made it to the chiro. I haven't been to mine in a long time...and it shows. Good thing to take off a couple days from exercise - Turbo Jam will wait for you.

We'll I think you said it my Dear....
But this time.. No bad levels because...
So, maybe that wouldn't happen this time, being I now almost always, choose starches that are whole grain.
more fruits and other GOOD carbs too! and here's the plan...
This week, I am just going to eat healthy, and keep my calories in a decent range
Now, hasn't that always been the way to lose weight
.. I don't think there is anything I need to say but rest, relax and get well ... trust yourself to eat sensibly while getting over this hump :o) You've learned a lot!!

Thanks, Smallerme! It feels so good just to be making good food choices, and not planning every calorie or gram
Went to the "dreaded Buffet" today........filled salad plate with lettuce (iceberg ), mushrooms, peas, garbanzo beans, and asked for a fat free dressing. Also had 1/4 c. cottage cheese, 2 small pieces of cantaloupe, and a dill pickle slice. Then we went back for the "main entree" section. Oh, heavens! I had wanted to have a great lunch, but not blow the diet..........and I almost walked out! First thing I saw was fried chicken- Tater-tot hotdish fettucini alfredo beef stew (thick gravy)
I was just about to put the fried chicken on my plate, as I wanted some protein to hold me over to the next meal.....when a server came out with some thin sauced BBQ chicken. So, I took a piece of white meat and removed the skin (at the table LOL), 1/2 c. mashed potatoes w/ 1 T. turkey or chicken gravy, and a mix of green and yellow beans.
I didn't succumb to the deep fried chicken, or the other salads full of mayo, or the chocolate pudding, and I asked for the FF drsg.........so I think I did OK.....drank water with the meal, of course. However, it's going to take some doing to figure out calories and nutrients on those foods.
Tuesday's meals:
1 sl. wg toast w/ 1 T. rf peanut butter, 1 1/2 c. mixed fruit, 1/2 c. Fiber One cereal w/ 1/2 c. soymilk, 2 strips turkey bacon......1/2 c. cottage cheese, Nevd protein bar, 1/2 wg pita w/ff cream cheese.........turkey lunch meat sandwich on whole grain, 1/2 bowl of my veggie chili w/ ground turkey........1/3 lb grilled turkey burger, 2 sl wg bread, 2 serv. cole slaw mix w/ rf sesame ginger drsg.........1/2 batch tuna salad, 16 whole grain Wheat Thins, grapefruit, sugar free jello w/ff Cool Whip
TOTALS: calories-1745, protein-142.85gr/32.7%, fat-34.12gr/17.6%, carbs-49.7%, fiber-44.8 gr.

See, you did GOOD , ya know I think I noticed this too on my card nights with my 92 yr old grandma those are my FUN days first I brought my own snacks and then we started ordering food and I found my plate was nicely bare.. and it didn't have to be :o) I ate a wee bit of everything and loved on my water :o) one night though I shamefully came home at 4am and nuke another slice of pizza it was my 3rd eek! and still lost weight.
Now, I am not fostering a sense of abandonment just that the days do balance themselves out and thankfully so or I would never get my calories up enough to lose weight .. Now anyone can read my diary and know it is true my calories are all over the place
I think it is truly normal, I never could diet before because it was just soooo restrictive and I was starving not only did the concept of eating 6-7 small meals help me this time around, also the fact that I can space my calories out and still win. I am neither over eating or under-eating :O)
Perhaps this makes no sense and I'll get kicked off this board.. but it seems to be working for me and if and when I slack in losing I will do as you have my dear .. and find another way!

When I first came to these forums, I remember Nevd giving the advice...........that it didn't matter so much that each day was perfect.........but that the week averaged out. You will have some high days, but balance them out with low days. I think he's right!

| wow hisgal. Nevd gave great advice! I never have thought of it that way but I am going to from tonight forward. Yes, I have had some pretty high calorie (above maintenance) days but maybe if I dont freak out (like you said in my diary earlier) and balance it out, I can still manage to stay on track! That helps. Thank you.

Your welcome OWF
I probably need to heed some of my own advice! I have to remember not to freak out over this weekend! Today has not been good. I love not planning out everything to the last detail, but each day's calorie count seems to get a little higher
Today I ate at Subway (double meat turkey breast on oat bread with pepper jack cheese and vinegar), and we had Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner (Hawaiian De-Lite of course). My daughter and her husband left tonight for their weekend in Chicago (Twins/White Sox game) and we have the grandkids. Not sure I can handle being home all day with the two oldest ones wanting to eat constantly It may not be a good eating weekend!
TTOM came early (never regular these days anyway, so where's the surprise there?). The good thing about that is that maybe I will have some of the water weight gone by Sunday's weigh in for the Easter Challenge...............the bad thing, is that I've been having cravings like crazy! Really craving salt tonight, so made the last meal whole grain Wheat Thin crackers with tuna salad made with fat free mayo and a carton of fat free yogurt to take care of the sweet urge. Scale said 162 this morning.
Finished up the big project at work.......still have a lot of catch up to do next week, but it's not pressed for time like this was. Now I have to get our own stuff in order for next week's tax appt..........and maybe some of the stress will be out of my life and some of the pounds will drop?????
Leg and hip not perfect yet, but feeling quite a bit better. Figured it didn't pay to go back to the chiro when I'll be taking care of 3 little kids all weekend. If the kids sleep in a bit tomorrow morning, I think I'll try the TJ Learn and Burn and see what happens. I think the pulling I'm feeling in my muscles, would feel better with some stretching and light exercise to loosen it up.

Thanks, Lovemyself Stop by anytime......I'm always checking to see how you are doing! Easter Blessings to you
Well, these days have gone by fast. I am exhausted tonight (morning?)........52 year old women are not made to watch 3 kids (6, 4, and 4 months) on a full-time basis. Especially not when that woman has 3 pans of dessert to make for Easter dinner! We have had a good time.....playing games.........watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ........coloring Easter eggs.........and cuddling the baby! But then there's taking them to 2 church services.........not used to that anymore! Their mom and dad just called........they stopped at home (an hour away) to pick up the Easter goodies for Sunday morning and found out their furnace went out. Considering we've hardly been above freezing all week, they are waiting at home for the serviceman to come. Short night for all!
The Hip Hops Abs DVD's came, but that's about all I know. No time for myself......how did I do it when I had 3 little ones that age? I was younger then.....although I am in better shape now!
My meals continue to have no planning. Have been grabbing things to eat and trying to put some quick meals together. Not real anxious to step on the scale in the morning. Between TTOM and all the non-planned food I've been eating, it won't be good, I'm sure.
Well, need to quick post my totals and get to bed. Hopefully the granddaughter won't be up at 4:15 this morning!
Wednesday: Calories-1626 protein-187gr/46%, fat-36.2gr/20%, carbs-34%, fiber-31.25gr
Thursday: Calories-2109, protein-140.25gr/26.6%, fat-65.42gr/27.9%, carbs-45.5% fiber-24.7gr
Friday: Calories-1877, protein-100.75gr/21.5%, fat-59.25gr/28.4%, carbs-50.1%, fiber-19.4gr
Saturday: Calories-1895, protein-99.45gr/21%, fat-51gr/24.2%, carbs-54.8%, fiber-39.6gr.
As you can see, the totals are not real good! But, the good news is.......I have resisted the Easter candy that sits here waiting for me to nibble in the morning. Also going to enjoy the low fat desserts I made for lunch tomorrow. It's going to be a total cheat day with sweets (at least the low fat ones-my jelly bellies and black jelly beans). But Monday will be right back on plan. I did make a low fat veggie salad to bring to Easter Dinner too. So, if I eat lots of meat, fruit, and the veggie salad..........hopefully the sugar crash on Monday won't be too devastating!
Have a Blessed Easter, everyone!

Hi Hisgal, don't be discouraged.......you will get back on track you always do. I love reading your posts, even if I don't post all the time. You encourage me even when you don't eat planned, look at your fat %'s compared to mine on my post......you have gotten to the point that even eating on the fly, you pick healthier snacks and things to eat, that is a good thing. Look at mine, if I don't plan and eat on the fly, my fat %'s go way up.....not good. Need better alternatives.
Keep up the good work, glad you enjoyed the little ones and hopefully the heat is back on at the kids house.
Have a wonderful rest of Easter Day and don't worry till tomorrow. Oh Heck don't worry at all, in the long run, it will work out.

Thanks Judy , for the encouragement! I already signed up for the challenge. Thanks so much for starting it!!!!
I weighed in at 162.2 lbs. this morning. That's a loss of 6.6 lbs since the start of the Challenge. Not the 10 lbs I wanted, but I'll take it. It's 6.6 lbs closer to goal than I was when we started.
My hip and low back are feeling a lot better, and my walking seems to have gone back to normal. Just a few twinges once in a while, if I step wrong. So, I am going to get back to my DVD's and to Curves. If it doesn't feel right, I will have to go back to my chiro and lay off the exercise for a while longer. Am hoping that all will go OK tomorrow morning.
The days with the grandkids was just precious! Just the time away from work that I needed to relieve stress........it was a little stressful at home, but a different kind! Just can't replace the time you give your kids or grandkids. The daughter arrived late last night, and her hubby stayed home to wait for the furnace repairman to come back again with parts. It worked well all night.
Ate way too many jelly beans today, a few M&M's and dessert! Also, cinnamon roll for breakfast! Limited lunch to ham, a little scalloped potatoes, and my low fat oriental cole slaw and a few pickles and olives. It tasted great, of course, but will be back on plan tomorrow morning.
A Blessed Easter to all!

Hiya Hisgal - I'm catching up FINALLY on everyone's diaries. Congrats on your 6.6 pound Easter Challenge loss!! That's fantastic! I only lost 4 pounds...but with as many setbacks as I've had lately - I am still thankful! Would have liked to have lost 5...but maybe on the Memorial Day Challenge!! Woohooo!!!!
So, how do you like Turbo Jamming so far? How about that Turbo Sculpt? My shoulders get so sore from that one - so many repetitions! But, of course it's a 'good' sore. Glad to hear your hip & back are pretty much back to normal and you're able to exercise again!!!
Let's kick this next challenge into HIGH GEAR!!!!!

Let's try this again.........I hate it when I lose a post.......especially when I'm not even sure what key I hit to close down the whole site
So, today is my regular weigh in day.........and the behavior of Easter, when I had my fill of (desserts and jelly beans) is definitely showing up on the scale. Why one, and only 1 day of cheating has to result in such a gain is beyond me! Why can't I be one of those people who pig out for a few days and lose weight
So..........today' weight (April 10) is 165 lbs Aaaaaaaaaack!
I did a lot of thinking and praying last week, when I wasn't following any plan of eating at all..........and came back to WL4I. Besides Eat to Live, it is the one plan where I do consistantly lose and lose fairly fast. And as you all know, I am being impatient with this weddig coming up. So, I'm giving it another go!
This time on WL4I, I am keeping track of everything. In the past, the reason I went back to it, was that I was tired of writing everything down, and wanted a break, where I just ate what I was told and didn't worry about the totals! But, as I did the carb-cycling before Easter, I thought it reminded me of WL4I. I want to see how the totals compare. It should be interesting, and hopefully as successful as it's always been. I know it's not something I can do for life, but I'm using it as a tool to help me accomplish a short term goal. I will get tired of not choosing my own food plan, but for now it's my WOE.
Monday's food: chicken breast strips, BBQ sauce, Turkey sandwich on whole grain with swiss cheese, 1/2 c. strawberries, 1/2 c. blueberries, tuna salad on romaine, orange/tropical fruit smoothie
Monday's totals: calories-1285, protein-121.65gr/37.9%, fat-20gr/14%, carbs-48.1% and fiber-11.8%
Sure felt satisfied and not hungry yesterday. Didn't expect that coming down from Sunday's sugar high. Might be the food on the WL4I plan or might be all the caffeine I'm pushing! Lack of sleep all last week, and more lack of sleep over the long weekend with the grandkids has left me dragging. Too much to do at work and at home to be falling asleep over the keyboard. Worked at home yesterday morning on putting 2006 receipts into the computer and this morning also. Will probably take Wed. off work to finish it up, before the tax appt. at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Exercise Tuesday: Turbo Jam Learn and Burn
Am starting to feel comfortable with the 11 moves........even putting some of them together........others I am very uncoordinated at! Hopefully that will improve as time goes on.......and the fat and skin stops flapping in the breeze Want to master this before I move on to Hip Hop Abs.

I did that WL4I diet a couple years ago and I actually liked it a lot too. I didn't follow it all that closely (I was living in the dorms at the time so it was difficult) but I still lost 4 lbs. in the 11 days! I think I'll start that again... thanks for reminding me . I remember I paid like $30 for the 11 days worth of meal plans... is it still the same? Do you think there's any way I can get into it again without paying or do I have to pay it all over again? I think I'll go check it out now!!! And congrats on doing well on the Easter challenge!!!

Hi there Pat, just swinging in to check on you I hope you had a wonderful weekend and Easter.. I didn't have a jelly bean but I did have some Mike & Ike's (candy) while playing cards I did feel the pressure when they poured out the chips and buttered popcorn but I had my ole faithful PEANUTS hee hee..
Hey is the WL4I the same as the carb cycling? .. Oh is there prepared food or planned menu?? While on my trip I purposely left my laptop at home so I could just make choices without the fuss and the planning and I was just fine :o) I don't want a yo yo diet I want what's real, I want to eat like I should have.. ya know what I mean? It's so odd because it's not too hard to lose weight when you are poor and don't have much food but when you purposely want to eat less the pounds hang on for dear life.. UGHHH!! Who told them to do that? lol
I pray for a good report soon!

Sara,
I first bought the WL4I plan almost 2 years ago. I think they say it's good for about 90 days or whatever, but I can still access mine. From what I've read on this forum, they have changed the diet at least once.......I have the original form.
My daughter had bought the program too, and her computer crashed last summer. She tried to get into it again, but couldn't remember her password and user ID. You can get them by knowing the date or at least month/yr that you purchased it. But, she couldn't remember that or find the paperwork.
Smallerme,
When I started carb-cycling, it reminded me of WL4I. That's why I'm trying it again, but writing down what I eat and analyzing the calories and nutrition. It gives you menus for 11 days of 4 meals each day. Then you get 3 days off the program to eat whatever you want to eat. Most people start on a Monday, so their days off are a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I had really good luck with it.........no problem staying on it, as I was always satisfied. The last time I did it (last fall) I added a piece of fruit about halfway between meals 1 & 2, and some veggies along the way and I still lost at a good rate. I seem to use it whenever I am stuck and need a boost with getting past a plateau.
It's not a plan I could use for life, but it has had it's uses. I have to say I've learned something from every book I've read or plan I've tried.

Tuesday's food: 4 deviled eggs, 5 chicken breast strips, BBq sauce, leftover lowfat Oriental Cabbage Salad, 2.5 serv. romaine, 2 Tbsp. low-fat rasp. vinegrette, 1 c. cottage cheese, 1 pear, 1/3 lb. ground turkey with onion, yellow and green peppers, and diced tomatoes.
Tuesday's totals: calories-1291, protein-162.5gr/50.3%, fat-33.15gr/23.1%, carbs-26.6% and fiber-11.2gr.
I have to step on the scale every day when I do WL4I (or most all the time anyway). At least on this plan, the scale seems to move most every day........and it's almost always down Today it dropped to 162.4 lbs. (from 165 yesterday).
Wednesday's Exercise: Turbo Jam Learn and Burn
Hope to do something else later and will update. Working at home today, tax appt. tonight.
Oh yeah, we woke up to a white lawn this morning! My hubs works in Rochester, MN and they are predicting up to 8" for them by this afternoon/evening Happy Spring!

Smallerme,
There is a whole section on this forum, devoted to Weight Loss 4 Idiots. Actually, it is what first brought me to the forums. I had purchased the plan in June of 2005, and found a blog that discussed the plan and gave hints on how to fix the food, etc. Then it went away.........there one day and completely gone the next. So, I searched the internet for another site with WL4I followers, and found this one. So, if nothing else, I am eternally grateful to the plan, for bringing me here
The WL4I plan does always get me moving........I just have to control myself during those 3 "cheat days", so I don't gain it back. However, I can see now, after doing Carb-cycling, that those days are probably needed to keep your body from going into starvation mode. Especially if the people following the plan are heavier than me and have a higher unadjusted RMR than I do. Of course, maybe they can eat more per meal than I can, too. I've also added some fruits and veggies in, that aren't on the plan, to make it more palatable. It doesn't seem to affect the results.
So, here's to a lighter me!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Val I just hope it is weight loss and not just loss of fluid retention I just want the scale to move on down .........and stay there, not this up and down stuff! Or worse yet, just sitting there and not moving. If it's only .2 of a lb. loss when I get on the scale.........at least that would be showing some results for all the hard work I've been doing.
This has been rather interesting, tracking my calories, etc with WL4I. I've figured things 2 ways. I have been adding some foods in.........like the leftover Oriental Cole Slaw from Easter.......or today's yogurt with some of the fruit. Then I'm figuring out my totals with my additions, and also figuring out the totals without them. The calories would be really low for me, without the things I've added. This would be the 4th day in a row below my unadjusted RMR, which is definitely a No-No according to Tom Venuto in BFFM. Of course, my "any sandwich" on the first day could have been a Big Mac or triple cheeseburger I just automatically chose a turkey on whole grain without thinking of all the options "any sandwich" entails

Hi Hisgal - Wow, your total calories are seriously low...especially w/o your additions. I honestly don't know anything about WL4I - but they actually suggest eating that low? Both of those days would have been below 1000 cal! Am I just misunderstanding? Just concerned for ya!
