Hello everybody, my names Larry, I have been fighting with my weight my entire life of 22 years. I have made this "diary" because if I see how I feel, see what I have written, then maybe I can see my problem area's much better. I know many of you may not respond to my post and that is OK with me.

For the sake of a diary, I'm going to tell you a little about myself. I live in Rhode island, (Home of the clam chowdah, caahs, beah, paahks, and bahs) Currently I am a student at a local college finishing off my prerequisites and soon to be applying to the Nursing program (RN). As I mentioned before, my name is Larry and I just recently turned 22 years old. I am naturally a big person standing at 6'1''. Around the age of 18, I hit my peak weight of a whopping 330 pounds and I made the decision to change my life. In  less than 15 months, I dropped just over 100 pounds. I was never so proud in my life to step on a scale and see it read 230 pounds. But just as soon as I lost all the weight, the worst has happened.

I stopped taking care of myself like I did before, slowly exercising less, eating more foods, taking bites of foods I wouldn't have dared to taste. After a 1.5 years of neglect of myself, I sky rocketed to 280 pounds. Joints in my knees and hip are now starting to ache badly again, back is tense from all the extra weight, and slowly depression is coming back.

Just the other day (11/8/11) I realized I have to fight again; the battle of the bulge take 2. This isn't going to be any easier than the first time, if anything it will be harder. BBT1 had advantages, I had a gym to go to whenever I needed to, I had more money to support my healthier habits, protein, and vitamins, but this time around, I don't have that luxury.

Plan of action

My new plan of action is going to be less aggressive and take it day by day.

Foods that I am going to stock up on

Eggs (Make omelets w/ veggies, scrambled eggs, list goes on)
Whole turkey(Thanks giving is coming, super cheap)
Beans/Chick peas/Unpopped popcorn (Oven roasted chick peas w/ seasonings or air popped pop corn for snacks)
Frozen veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, mix veggies and etc)
Tuna (Tuna sandwiches/wraps!)
Sweat potatoes(Going to bake them as baked potato fry w/o oil, or whole)
Fat free plain yogurt
Frozen berries (Mix w/ yogurt, add splenda for a good desert)
Non instant oats (I've never made it to often but its cheaper and healthier)
Natural Peanut butter (Who the #%@&! doesn't like peanut butter?)
Rice (Goes with chicken, beef, beans)
Chicken (Whole chicken, Thight, or chicken breasts, whatever is on sale)
Skim milk
Frozen stir fry veggies
WHATEVER HEALTHY FOOD IS ON SALE!

I am also tempted on trying other culture foods. Give myself something to look forward too, Mexican, Korean, Italian, Greek, Chinese, Japanese, Middle eastern and etc. If anybody is reading, if you have any particular culture recipes (Trust me I eat anything) that your fond of, I'll be glad to make it and try it!

Exercises
I have yet to have a solid work out plan as I do not have a gym membership anymore. I purchased resistance bands (230+ pounds of resistance) several months ago so those are going to be a major part of my routine. I plan on exercising 3 times a week, then move to 4 times a week, and maybe one day move it to 5 days in the distant future. Cardio will be the hardest to accomplish. Aching knee joints, severe flat feet, soon to be snow, easily rule out walking outside. My girlfriends father has a non-working treadmill (something electrical) that I might be able to keep. (My fathers an electrician) If that does not work the next thing on the list is the dreaded jumping around the room like a idiot for 20 minutes.

Unfortunately I made this diary before I could count my calories. I'll soon be adding the foods I ate, calories, fat, carbs, and protein. I'll even put it on a spread sheet so its easier to read (excel). I'll be posting at least every other day (hopefully).
