a big steak brought it up to 1900 not my best day, but a busy one . My paycheck hit tonight so I'll be able to restock with more spinach tomarrow. A week's worth of sweet potatoes are baking so they'll be available when I need them

I need to stop focusing on the number on the bathroom scale for a while, until I get some things straightened out.
I'm at a point these days where the only motivation seems to be not letting my husband down. I love the strength gains and being able to ride faster comes in handy when running late for work. But inside I am scared witless of being thin, and it's causing the motivation I've had all this time to evaporate.
All the way through this I've focused on health because I'm uncomfortable with attention. Right now I'm compensating by wearing the same hooded sweats that fit 60 pounds ago, until i can make peace with the way things are.

Yesterday was a day of total carp.None of it tasted very good, and it felt worse. It wasn't about the food anyway. As much as someone around here talks about gluttony, It was a moment of pure self-sabotage because I was terrified of being thin. For a little while I wanted my barriers back.
1.I'm already seeing people treat me differently, and it's ridiculous. I'm the same person. My ideas are no better than they were before.
2.I'm starting to get checked out.Not used to it, never wanted it. It causes me to make all kinds of judgments about lowered standards.
3.it's making me confront a lot of things I never had to about men, women and how they work with each other. When I was morbidly obese, I was nearly genderless. I wasn't competition to other women or interesting to men, so I could be a friend to either. I'm going to miss that terribly. I think that's what bothered me the most.
I reached this same weight before 10+ years ago, freaked out, and gained it back. I thought at the time because it was due to the loose skin on my stomach, but I wondering if it was because I couldn't handle some of these things. If it weren't for my husband , and how deadly I've learned obesity could be, I'd probably gain it back again now.
I'm keeping the scale hiatus, until my doctor's appointment next week. If I stay under 1900 and keep working out, it shouldn't be a problem.
so today

Tankwoman, you are more then your weight and you know that. You knew it when you were obese and you know it now that you are not obese. Your motivations (husband and ill health relatives) are valid, keep them close to your heart. Being thinner brings better health which is it's own reward. Yes, people are treating you differently and I know it can be very uncomfortable, and make you like people less. (many people are shallow jerks for sure) We cannot control how other people react, we can only control ourselves and how we react. It isn't easy by any means but I see you as a strong woman who can handle it. The strength is there and you know it!

I've seemed to have moved past it, Thank heaven. A soon as I finish this course ( have to take the test by the end of the month) I'm planning to start taking either a self defense or some kind of martial arts class. That and and I'm Re-reading the Earth's Children series again, before I start reading the final book I bought this summer. I find Ayla's story very inspiring.
OK now to the calories.
After an afternoon of biking around for an estate sale and costco, attacked the costco roast chicken like a rabid dingo, lol 800 calories. Just noticed that hub nearly ate an entire costco pizza - if you've never seen one they're HUGE guess I wasn't the only one that was hungry!

Time to get back to business until I figure things out.
I'm having trouble staying under my calorie guidelines because
1.) Weight training fires up my appetite to the point where I'm like the Taz when I get home. The last few months I've tried to space out my calories to about 300 per meal, but for that post workout meal, it feels like a drop in the bucket! That's hard for me to imagine since I can bike for hours on 300 calories and cardio on the elliptical doesn't have the same effect.
2.) Here's what really concerns me - my TOM has become irregular. That's very out of the ordinary for me. Even at nearly 300 I was like clockwork, unless I ate too many soy foods. (I avoid soy now except for right before, seems to help with cramps)
So for now I'm going to bump it up to 2000, with a big chunk of that at about 1 AM when I get home ravenous from the gym.
Salmon fillet 330
500 grams green beans 155 (seriously?)
BTB
27 grams cocoa 62
protein powder 108
1 oz almonds 160
2 extra large eggs 160
sugar free ketchup 10
14 grams bacon 70
1055 - 845 remaining
3 chicken thighs 459
3 sticks of string cheese 240
salad 2 cups greens 3 1 t carrots grape tomatoes - not bothering to count calories
3 oz salami - guessing - trying to guess very on the high side 312
1 t italian dressing 43
2109 drat went over. not worried since I spent at least an hour on my bike running errands

apple 95
314 g sirloin steak 590
130 grams baked acorn squash 73
I just blundered my way into a terrific recipe
i had the oven going tonight and I like to get as much ouit of it as possible. So while the steak and sweet potatoes were cooking for the week ahead, I sliced up the squash , threw some powdered butter stuff over the top and some cinnamon. Forgot about it. came back and it was dried out and a little burned, decided to try it anyway.
It was actually better this way! Instead of stringy and mushy it was chewy - kind of like a dried apple. The skin became crunchy so it was like the crispy bottom of an oatmeal cookie. Sprayed some more fake butter over the top, and ate the whole thing like it was a plate of cookies.
The best part is I now have a vegetable that can easily go in in the bike bag that doesn't come out a mess when it's time to eat it. I'll post the recipe as soon as I get the timing and measurement worked out.
110 grams sirloin steak 209
almonds 160
1127
planning 2 string cheese sticks 240

304 g sirloin steak ( got a value pack on sale this will be showing up a lot) 572 1939
Cool, done for the day. I'm really liking this tactic instead of saving up all my calories for my post workout meal, I start with it and work around it :D Last edited on 4 November 2011 11:34 pm by Tankgirl
