Today's Weigh In (Official) 163.6 Weekly Loss -0.6 Total Loss -25.2

Small loss but it is TTOM and it doesn't seem like I ever lose much (if at all) during that time so I expected it. Sorry for the quick update. I have been super super crazy busy. Date night was a blast, I have gotten all of my workouts in, and my calories are spot on. Today is a rest day so I am going to try and find time to update a bit further and catch up on everyone's diaries later this evening.

Are you still having issues with your iodine Nine?  I was going to ask if you have heard of Iosol, but I didn't have enough time to post and then forgot about it.  I know there are lots of different kinds of iodine out there.  Maybe a different type would agree with you better.  I actually have several different kinds that I take and keep on hand.

Great job with your weight loss!

So I am back again. I thought about starting a new diary, but since this is all part of the same story I decided to dredge up the old one.

I managed to get down to 149 before my surgery in February. After my surgery I wasn't allowed to exercise very much, just take short walks. I gained a little but seemed to be holding around 155. Then I got pregnant in June. I was so excited but ended up having to have emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. I was broken both emotionally and physically. I gained a lot of weight in a very short period of time. I am now ready to get back on the weight loss wagon again.

My current weight is 197.4 (It was 198.6 on Monday) for a first loss of -1.2 pounds

I am starting slow, the gym twice a week, Tue and Thur (first day was yesterday). I plan to try to fit in stretching and crunches on non gym days. My food intake has been dialed back. I am just trying to make smarter decisions for now. After this first introductory month is up I will try and focus on implementing a specific eating plan.

Glad to see you back, NineChoirs!

Sorry to hear about the loss of your baby :crying:   Time helps, but you never forget.   I lost a baby 36 years ago, from a miscarriage.   Every once in a while the loss comes back strong..........something will trigger it.    But, time does help to heal the wound, and make it not so raw.   I hope your healing has begun..........and I'm glad you are ready to start making changes, and take charge of your life again.

This is a journey many of us make over and over.    Each time we hope it is our last time to struggle with our weight.   I am 56 now, and can't count the number of pounds I've lost in my lifetime!   That's sad..........so sad..........and for so many of us, that's the story.   However, this time I do feel different.   I've taken the weight off slower, and I've changed the way I eat.......or rather the foods I eat.   I've started looking at foods for what their content is, and what they will do for my body.

Today, I was going to get an ice cream cone on my lunch break.   I kept telling myself that I deserved that treat........I'd only had ice cream once in the last year, and today is a mid-80's day in MN in October.......a rareity, for sure.   But, I didn't get one!   It's just not in my food vocabulary anymore!   I think I've really finally changed.......if it's not a whole food, or a whole grain, it rarely makes it's way to my plate or my mouth.

I've gotten to the place where I don't think I really believe in "diets" anymore.   But, I did eat the 17 Day Diet for a while.   Some "rules" from that, that I find helpful are:

1.   Eat at least 2 fruits a day, but consume them before 2:00 p.m.

2.   Eat your starchy carbs before 2:00 p.m. also, if you have them

3.   Try to have your last meal by 7:00 p.m. and then don't eat anything after that.

4.   Fill your plate with veggies!  (non-starchy ones)

5.   If you eat meat, make them lean ones.......concentrate on fish, chicken and turkey.   And treat them as a condiment, don't fill your plate with them.

Much success to you, Nine Choirs...........we're here for ya!

Hi Hisgal thanks for stopping by, I am happy to be back, I missed you guys!

We have maintained our switch to whole foods which has really contributed to our positive overall health. I still do enjoy my "special" beverages though whether it be Mike's or flavored coffee, and I have been baking alot lately, so those things can and should be fixed and scaled back. I have given up caffeine so my flavored coffees have been decaf. I may go back on caffeine though because I actually think it may be contributing to my weight gain. Coffee used to be a 0 calorie manner of stemming cravings and I think not having it has been causing problems!

I went to the gym this morning and got in a really good workout. Today's weight is 196.8 which is a -0.6 loss for a total loss of -1.8.

So far so good. I really want to get out of the 190's, way too close to the 200's for comfort.

I hear ya NC!    The summer of 2010, I went up to 203 and that number woke me up!   Last fall, I was at 201.3 when I decided to get my eating under control and re-vamp my diet!   My last look at the scale said 172, and finally people are starting to notice, and say "You've been losing weight, haven't you?"     That feels so much better to hear, than the unhealthy foods taste!    Hang in there, and stay strong!

Hisgal - I agree completely! There is a great feeling that comes with losing weight and getting into shape, I would love for maintaining to be just as much fun.  My wake up weight has always been near the 200 mark, I need to lower that number significantly!

Today's weight was 194.4!! That is a loss of -2.4 pounds for a total loss of -4.2 pounds!! I had forgotten how fast the weight comes off at first. I wish it could fall off this fast all the way to my goal.

My current goal is to be 155 by Christmas, according to my phone app, if I kept this rate of weight loss up I would be 114 by Christmas  Of course I know it will slow down drastically, but I am excited about the great start!

Tonight is date night and my husband suggested going for a walk, should be nice.
