Hey everyone! Thanks so much for you brave souls who were the pioneers of the FL4I diet! Because of your bravery, people like me are going to give it a try! I'm 17 and have begun to fall into the family tradition..... obeisity! I figure I should stop it before it gets bad. I'm 6'2" 228lbs. I've checked out the BMI stuff, and it says i need to be down to around 170-175! So I've got about 60 pounds. When I write it down.... it seems like I'm so obeise!! I don't feel that big! Anywho, I'm starting tomorrow! I haven't seen anything about teens trying this diet, so I'm probably going to be the new experiment! Hopefully if it works for me, some people with overweight teens at home could get them to give it a whirl! I'll be sure and keep everyone updated! It's also going to be fun because my brother is also just starting a diet, we're about the same weight.... I'm a little heavier by about 5lbs hah, so it's kind of a "race." I'm totally going to whoop his butt! Again, thanks to all of you faithful thread posters!

Hi All!
As I was reading the posts, I also got curious about the "new" version of IPD. I accessed it and it does seem to have more choices. I have had great success with the old version but have to admit, I like the fact that more foods are offered in the updated plan. I'm only on day 4 of this cycle but think that I will try the newer version the next time around.
I'd be curious to hear from people who have been on this version and what their progess is after the 11 days.
Bottom line -- "It's all good!"

| I generated a menu to take a look at it to see the difference. It appears to me that the diet stays in the same vein as the old plan. The difference seems to be that, for example, the old plan might say "turkey," the new plan says "turkey slices and cottage cheese" thereby giving you two different proteins instead of just eating one. The same is true for the meals that would be mixed carbs and protein -- this plan just gives you more choices to eat different things. In the new plan, however, you do get to have a glass of milk, bacon slices, sausage strips, and shrimp, to name a few. There doesn't seem to be any of the weird combinations like scrambled eggs with pasta -- although, now that I think of it, I didn't even see pasta on the new plan (or hamburgers -- so I guess there's a trade off).

Shamrock,
By new version, do you mean that Fat Loss 4 Idiots has been updated?
http://cphdiet.4idiots.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=4FP
Or are you talking about Advanced Dieting Secrets:
http://cphdiet.year9000.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=AFP
Which other FL4I members have written about in this thread:

Hi Peter:
It appears to be a new version of Fat Loss 4 Idiots. I accessed it by going to:
http://cphdiet.4idiots.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=4FP
The basic principles are the same, but there are different food choices.

Shamrock? I get the same information through that site. Can you tell me what you click on? I put in Aug 28 and I am directed to http://dietaccess.com/loginb.html

Dobie go look in the idiot diet forum started by Bretan, there are instructions posted by saqmcart on hoe to access the new info,
it took me like 10 tries but I finally got in.
I thought about you and your wife when I saw the new choices. It may be a great way to switch things up for her.

Hi Dobie:
Put in yesterday's date and your password. It'll probably tell you that your password is invalid. Next it will ask you for the date you purchased that plan. Enter that information and then it will prompt you to enter a username and password. That should do it! Let me know if you still have a problem.

I can't believe it, but it won't show them to me. When I select a correct date or one before March 31st, it caches my username password and it lets me in. After that, it shows up with username and password blank and will not let me in to see the new stuff.

I'd be curious to get your take on the new version. I like some of the new choices but miss some of the old ones. I wonder if these are just different carbs and proteins that could be rotated into the old plan.

I took some time and really looked at the new version. I noticed that we are also not allowed to have bananas or pineapple. I am happy to see that shrimp has been added, since I like shrimp.
The frozen yogurt doesn't excite me that much. I don't crave ice cream and when I generated a menu it only came up once the whole cycle.
I'd really miss the pasta with sauce, and the hot dog/hamburger choice and the roast beef sandwiches. The the infinite amount of possibilities that lean ground turkey offers. That has been such a big helper for me on my journey.
I notice on this version it looks like a lot more choices but its actually not. What they did was put individual fruit and vegetable choices where as the choice was usually fruit salad, mixed fruit, fresh grapes, cantaloupe and melons. 10 of those selection options are now different fruit, 4 of them are nuts, and 4 of them are fish.
On the other plan mixed nuts was 1 choice, fish any type was 1 choice, and you could choose the fruit you wanted to put in your fruit plate or fruit salad.
The omelette and egg salad are also no longer options. Milk and cheese have been added though.
The a deli sandwich only comes up once, on the fruit and sandwich day, I like being able to have a couple of sandwiches a cycle. At this rate it would take us 3 months to finish a loaf of bread.
I am not thinking its all bad though. I like the idea of still being able to have 4 meals on the Fruits and/or veggie days. I think that is a great idea.
I also think its great that they've given a chance to make a choice. I know many of us have suffered through 1 too many tuna salads, or egg omellettes in a cycle.
So that I definitely think will help break up some of the monotony.
It also says that exercise is not a must on the new version. That will put some peoples minds at ease as not everyone is able to get in the required walking.
It definitely has its differences. I don't know, that's just what I've noticed.
Good Luck to those of you who are trying it. The good thing is, if you don't like it so well, you still have the original version that has worked thus far :D

Hi Jayelle:
I'm on Day 8 of the "old" version and am thinking about trying the newer one next cycle. Maybe I'll give it a shot for one cycle to see how it goes. I agree that some of the choices are nice to have but I think I'll definitely miss pasta. I also am a little leery of any weight loss plan that says you don't need to exercise -- I think they go hand in hand. Maybe it's just a marketing tool -- basically people want the weight to come off with as little effort as possible and they may be trying to reach out to those people. Anyway, we've had good success with the old plan and we can always go back....

Hi Jayelle ~
I generated a couple of menus on the new plan and got the orange-pineapple smoothie (which is listed on the second list) and in the prep section at the end, under "Fruit Salad Desert" it lists both pineapple & bananas as allowable.
I'm still on ADS and doing quite well, not going to weigh again until Thursday, when I have completed the full 8 days but at the beginning of day 4, I was down 3 pounds.
This second version of FLFI looks very interesting and I like that you don't have to eat all of the foods listed. Most every time I picked pasta in the old version it was coupled with scrambled eggs or tuna salad. In the second version, I did get oatmeal & green beans in the same meal, but I can pick just one.

I agree with Jayelle on her obervations. I am glad to see a new set of foods to work in so we are trying the new diet this cycle. Today was easy, but it takes some getting used to.
Eggs were with ham and that's it. Not my first choice. Then we had milk and cashews (which I used my mixed nuts I have amassed). Milk was a welcome addition!
Dinner was shrimp, grapes, and roast beef. We did not shop yet so we did not have grapes. Shrimp was fantastic!! We had a slice of roast beef while we prepared the shrimp and then did not look back at the roast beef. :)
Later we have sausage, chicken, and plums. Again, no fruit today but we will get our fill tomorrow.
What I LOVE about this diet is it will help me learn better how to eat several foods in one meal without over eating. Will I substitute these foods into the other menu? Yes. Will I substitue foods from the other into this diet? Yes. But not this round. I am trying it straight for a round and then I may very well combine them going forward.
As long as I am following this way of eating, I don't see why you can't combine foods!
So this begs the question, Jayelle. Why do you think the rules were not working for you?

Hmmm...New menu...not too happy.
Day 1: Nuts, ham, shrimp, etc. High sodium. Only lost one lb from cheat days (4.5 up)
Day 2: Fruit day with sandwich: Had bananas which I missed were not allowed, but my daily intake was two grapefruits, two banans, half and apple and a sandwhich. No weight loss.
Day 3: Normal meals...gained 1 lb.
WHAT IS UP?!
Any one else on the new series? If so, how goes it?
Discouragingly,
Dobie

Wait, I am not saying it won't work. I am just curiout why both Jayelle on the rules and me on the new plan are not doing well after three days.
I am sticking it out 11 days and will keep everyone in the loop. Even if I just lose a pound or two, it is REALLY worth the new foods and the break!

AndyMan, How did you do??? I am interested in knowing, I have a daughter that is not quite a teen yet (12), but struggling with her weight. Its so sad, to have to worry about this so young. I want to help her and not make her feel "different".
Let me know.

Hey Dobie! I'm sorry to hear that things aren't going so great right now.
I applaud yoru optimism. I think this way will get results as well. I also think that the rotation could get results, I've just been spoiled by the regular way and freaked out by instead of dropping a pound of cheat weight, I had gained!! I was not ready to stick wtih it and risk a further gain. :(
I hope things begin to pick up for you!!

Hi Andy,
Good luck and congratulations on starting. I have a long way to go too, but after the first 11 days on the diet, I can tell you that it feels good. You lose weight and you lose the need to eat a whole lot. It honestly seems like a really good program. Just learn from my mistakes and make sure you drink plenty of water on your break days!

The Violet Storm,
Be really careful about getting someone so young into the diet game. I think now is the time to start teaching her about nutrition and healthy eating.
If you need a little tutorial yourself, the tutorials are a good place to start.
I don't mean to be lecturing... I don't know your situation at all. These thoughts just came to mind.

Thanks Peter, I appreciate that.
I am very careful with her, I havent at all even introduced dieting to her at all, she has seen me doing this diet and it has intrigued her a bit, but it would never work, I have to contend with school lunches and her going to her dads house, not that I Would even consider it anyways.
She didnt start gaining weight until the divorce 2 years ago, I know its emotional weight, she was very effected by the divorce.
Right now, my main goal is to get her moving, physically, before the divorce she was 9 years old and had made the highschool jr. swim team, she was SOO good, a fish in the water. Family fell apart, she quit and will not go back. Will keep working on that.
I worry, but I realize that at this point all I can do is provide her with healthy meals choices and help her do some portion control.

Thank you Jayelle. Your words and sentiment mean a lot to me.
I have lost back to 219 which is a pound from my previous low. So I did lose weight, but only what I gained during my cheat days. Now Mothers day did see me stretching with the family, but I was pretty good...just wrong foods and dessert an hour after we ate. Anyway, I am with you on being spoiled. If I lose 2 lbs in three days, then I will have a net loss of 1lb. Hardly what we expect.
Again, I love the break and new foods...I almost feel like I am on cheat days so I encourage others who need a food break to try this. I will use this again...but after I lose another 10 or maybe 15 lbs.
Anyone else try the new foods?

| For those of us who started this after the new version was introduced, is there any way to access menus from the old version or am I stuck? Since I'm having such a hard time with fruit day, I was thinking I could add some veggies (potatoes even?) on that day, just to have something WARM to eat. Maybe change up my fruit day and veggie day to 2 fruit/veggie days? I know it says no potatoes and maybe I can't have that and milk or cheese in the same cycle, but just wondering if someone has printed out both and interchanged them over 11 days? I would love to have a hamburger or pasta in the 11 days. And only 1 meal out of 44 with bread. Makes me want to pig out on bread on my cheat days. Ugh.

Kapers, I wouldn't suggest that you try to combine the two diets. The changes were specifically made that way for a reason. I say stick by the plan you are following for the cycle and if you want to try the other plan the next one.
Try to find some fruit salad recipes at allrecipes.com or cooks.com. These are great recipe sites. Also I posted a wonderful saucy pears recipe in the recipe section that is just great. You can probably use the 'sauce' on other fruit concoctions as well.
About accessing the old version, I would try the same steps that we had to take to access the new one. Just go to dietaccess.com and follow the steps that have been posted.
Hope this helps, the old version is really great and the F/V days aren't that bad. It would be nice to have a 4th meal on that day though.

HELP!!! I am really interested in getting access to the new menus, but every time I log in, its the same old. I have read your other posts, but still cant figure it out.
The first screen I get is the one where they ask they date that you purchased. I put in the date, (which I dont really remember, just guessed) then the next screen comes up where you enter username and password, then I am in, then its the old menu...... How do i get into the new ones???

When it comes up with the message to enter your user name and password, make up a new user name and password. This is what I did so I can enter both the old and new type menu's.
I just added a number to my original user name to make it easier to remember and kept the same password. So for example if your original user name was 'violet', you could make your new user name 'violet2'. Hope that makes sense.

Alright Ya'll!!!! I still cant get in, I did what you said Sharan, and I get this message,
The UserName that you entered doesn't match any of our Registered Users.
Please verify that you did not make a typing error.
Then if I try to go into the link and create a new username and password I have to type in my e-mail address and verify the exact day that i purchased. (uh, dont remember, guess I could look in my bank records) Then wouldnt that void out the previous username and password?? I dont want to lose access to the old menu, I have a feeling I will like the old better.

Hi everyone, here are instructions to get access to the new menus
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO ACCESS NEW DIET UPGRADE
Go to dietlogin.com
click on Problem with loggin on click here
Click on the last line that says If your user name/pass word isn't working click here
Click on the last line that says If you still cant log in click here to create a newpass word
Go to the 2nd block of text that says (If the email link has already expired)
There is a blank space fo your email address and the day you bought the download.
Put in your email and the actual day you bought the program.
Set up a new username and pass road
This should take you to the new diet.
I hope this works
I have been on the new menu for this past cycle and lost 2 pounds. I like the different choices with the milk and shrimp but hate giving up the hamburger and roast beef sandwichs. I don't like the fact that almost everything is deli meat. I like only 1 f/v day and not two as in the new plan. I like the fact on the new menu I can have low fat mayo with tuna instead of the fat free with the old plan. I will go on the old plan for the next food cycle to see which one I like the best. I'm glad I lost 2 pounds but would have liked to have seen a bigger loss. I really missed the ground turkey meals.
Good luck!

Violet, It still allows you to access the old menus, for the old menus I go to fatloss4idiots.com and sign in with my old pass word. Follow the instructions I posted to get access to the new menus and you should be fine.

To be honest I REALLY struggled on the last fruit/veg day so I don't think I would be able to handle two as on the new plan. Plus I miss not having the choice of having ham which I consider a treat on the original plan. But I guess the good thing is we can access both so the choice is still there.
I wonder if they'll ever stop access to the old plan?

Charmed, I hope they don't get rid of the old plan. I will print out more menus so i have enough to repeat if they do. I didn't care for the new menu I think the old menu is simpler and offer enough variety. I like having the hamburger, pasta and only 1 f/v day. I start my 4th cycle tomorrow and cant wait.
Good luck.

I am apparently using the new program, but am curious about the old program. It sounds like the menus are a little different. How can I access the old menus??
My husband and I have been following this plan for 6 days now. He has lost 11 pounds so far, and I have lost 5. We take a am and a pm walk, and have been following the diet pretty well. For example, if I don't want a turkey slice, I'll have a ham slice instead. I figure they're both protein so it works for me.
We love this plan and will follow it until it stops working. I do worry about the cheat days tho. Haven't done that yet, but I think with the results we're having, we won't be that bad:)

Hi everyone. First i was very skeptical of this type of diet plan, ive been on the atkins and other diets, none worked out at all. So most of time after a couple of weeks i would give up. However when school ended for me (im a college student) i decided to try the low carb diet once again, and for the last 2 weeks i have failed, instead adding 2 more pounds to my original weight. So i was sick of this weight i had and stumbled upon the Idiot Proof Diet plan. I was researching if this diet actually worked and etc. and found this forum. After reading REAL testimony from all the posters on this forum i decided to give this diet a shot. I purchased this diet today and will start on this diet tomorrow. However the thing is i have work tomorrow so i feel its going to be wierd eating one of my meals at my break (even though i shouldnt be).
So i am just here to introduce myself, and thanks for all your information about the diet and hopefully this diet finally works for me. I will try to post up about every other day or so about the progress of this diet. HOPEFULLY IT WORKS!!
Currently i am at 256 lbs.
I start the diet tomorrow. Thanks for the support!

I just signed up for the "Fat Loss 4 Idiots Proagram", and I have a couple questions.
1. Where are the carbs? This program claims it is not a low carb diet, but the only carbs I see are the two pieces of bread I get on my sandwich day and in the ocassional bowl of oatmeal.
2. The meal plans are so simple. Are we allowed to add any sides to them? For example are we allowed to add rice to a meal completely composed of meat?
3. Also, I was automatically signed up with the new version of the program, but some of the items on the old menu seem more appealing. Is there any way I can access the old menus?
Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Yes i do. i know that the one of the rules was to walk 30 minutes, but i have been jogging around my neighborhood for 20-30 minutes for a while now, so im going to keep it up. I like to do 2 meals, then walk for 30-40 minutes. then do my other 2 meals, and do a 30 minute jog around the neighbor late night.

1. Where are the carbs? This program claims it is not a low carb diet, but the only carbs I see are the two pieces of bread I get on my sandwich day and in the ocassional bowl of oatmeal. The carbs in this plan mainly come in the form of fruits and veggies.
2. The meal plans are so simple. Are we allowed to add any sides to them? For example are we allowed to add rice to a meal completely composed of meat?
Unfortunately you are not permitted to add rice and/or any other sides to your protein only meals. There are condiments that you may add. Refer to the condiments section of the handbook for the list
3. Also, I was automatically signed up with the new version of the program, but some of the items on the old menu seem more appealing. Is there any way I can access the old menus?
Yes I believe others have had success loggin into the old version.

Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated.
Good luck,

| That's great ace , hope your diet is going well. I dont exercise much , get quite exhausted as it is with little children , so its part fatigue and part excuses . Today was day 5 for me and I totally blew it , I have been very stressed past few days with the children not keeping very well and havent been gettig much rest at all , was craving biscuits and what not. Had an ok day but by evening foundmyself snacking on corn chips and mnms . I feel so guilty and the weekend begins tomorrow , heaven help me lol !

Hi there,
I am new member and was reading your forum on how people felt about the wl4d,and I see that members were talking about the old version and the plan and the different foods, and I was wondering if anyone could share that info with me:D
Also has anyone here had good success with the new version?I am going away this week and will start the program next Monday, and I am very excited to get started.
I am a female turning 41 next week and I need to lose about 30 lbs.I have tried jenny Craig...2 expensive ,Nutri System....food was ugggh! and just want something simple that works, and this sounds like it.
Would appreciate any feed bak,and anything on the old version.I have already purchased the new version yesterday and have generated my 11 day menu,so I am ready to go:D
