Hi, I'm new here. Found this forum yesterday which is the day I started on this diet. I've followed slimming world and weightwatchers but never tried this kind of diet before. I am following the old diet and will let you know how I get on!

| McDebs--come join us in the "General discussion" thread at the top of the page where all the threads are listed! I'm on the old plan, too, and there are also a few folks there on the new plan. We all support each other and offer advice, and we'd love to have you!

Hi,
I just found this forum (by accident) yesterday and was so intrigued, I downloaded and started the cycle today. I gained 34 pounds in three years and desperately want to lose at least half of what I gained. I don't eat candy or fried foods, my weakness in lite beers. Does anyone drink lite beer on their cheat days and if so have they gained the weight back because of it? LOL

Hello All,
I have just purchased the program today and have been reading the forums. I have accessed the old and the new and to tell the truth they both look great. I will be starting soon .... just getting all my info first and then off to shopping to make sure I have what I need. I want to lose about 50 lbs. and this plan looks awesome. I love the support I see here and hope to get it when I need it and give it when its needed.
I have seen a list of approved condiments which looks great. I have generated a menu and am not too sure how the veggie chili fits into it that I saw on the recipe board. I know that sounds dumb but how and where do the veggies and beans fit together .... are beans actually veggies ... man do I sound stupid .... oh well i'll never get the answer if I don't ask the question.
TIA!!!!

I'm not sure about the answer about beans and veggies, but I do know that there are other diets that group them together.
I was actually wanting to know how you accessed both the old and the new menus. I joined 11 days ago and I only can find the new menus.
Good luck! I just finished the first cycle - not too hard and 6 pounds down!

Hi and thanks for responding .... I was reading all sorts of posts to get an idea of what this is like and I came across one from Used To Munchabunch and it said ....
"I was able to access the old diet and generate menus from it by following the information from another thread on this site, which told me to go to http: //dietaccess.com/loginb.html and then click on the link to change my password. Then I simply changed my username by just adding a 1 to the end of it, and left my password the same, it worked perfectly - it let me right in."
Hope this helps ... enjoy!
And CONGRATS on finishing your first cycle and being down 6lbs .... that's awesome!

Hi,
This may be sort of obvious, but you might want to only buy what you need for a few days, then go shopping again. I went on a huge shopping trip and bought all 11 days' worth of food. By day 8, some of the veggies were not in good shape, and some of the lunch meat had kind of dried out...next time, I will break it into 2 or 3 trips.
Also, many have found that a certain amount of substitution is harmless (protein for protein, for example). So, you might find after a few days that you can't stand to look at another slice of roast beef, but still have a pound of roast beef left. So it's good to leave yourself some room to make a few minor changes. For example, in that situation, if I didn't want any roast beef, I'd feel pretty confident that having sliced turkey or eggs instead would be OK.

Welcome Susan! I am on the new diet. I tried the old one, but like the choices better on the new one. Be careful of the nuts. They seem to cause some people, like me, to not lose much weight, so I don't select nuts anymore. The vege day includes pinto beans with the veges. I modify the chili recipe by only adding either pinto beans or kidney beans, not all the beans it calls for. I love the chili and it is quite filling.
Good luck with the diet.

Frankie - Thanks for the tips on the shopping I will definately be breaking it up into two or three. And thanks for the info for the substituting. That sounds good to me ... lol! How have you done so far doing this WOE
dawgfan1 - How did you do on the old diet Thanks for the heads up on the nuts ... I wondered about that and actually I only selected one type of nut but if it doesn't go well I guess I will have to not select it next time. Thanks for the tips on the beans I saw that pinto beans were allowed so I wasn't sure how it was possible cause the other ones weren't on it but silly me I didn't think of just adjusting the beans .... I love chili and the recipe looks wonderful.
Thanks for the welcome and the luck!

Hi Susan,
I've lost 3 lbs total so far. I'm at the end of Day 9. I'm not too thrilled with that; it seems like a lot of work for 3 lbs. Someone suggested I'm not drinking enough water, and that may well be true. Another person mentioned that they don't lose weight when they eat nuts, and I know I eat too many nuts. Plus I always end up eating one of my meals in the car, and it's too easy to eat too much when you're not paying attention. So I'm not sure yet whether I'll do another cycle. I hate to admit it, but having the three cheat days is the biggest reason I'd do another at this point. It seems to me that if I'm not going to do another cycle, I'd better not do the cheat days!
Anyway, many have had fabulous success; hope you're one of them!

| I think you are allowed peppers and onions because on the "old" plan you are allowed to have salsa whenever you want and all that is is tomatoes, peppers and onions. As a matter of fact, if I was really hungry, I'd make an omelet with "whatever" and then put salsa on it -- totally filling!

Yes, the idea is to give you variety. but if you picked one you don't like, scramble away.

Ok after all the talk about Thanksgiving I am finally done with that. Enjoyed my fill for a couple of days and now am officially starting. Today is Day 1 and my gosh I am hungry ... lol ... breakfast was oatmeal and I had two packages of the cinnamon and spice and next was an omlette but I am still hungry and I just finished eating .... I know I can have more omlette if I want but I already put all the stuff away and would have to chop and cook all the stuff for the inside .... ugh .... perhaps a nice big glass of water .....
On an upnote I am excited to be starting and look forward to a great 11 days.

Susan,
Congratulations on starting! I have three packages of flavored oatmeal
The water really does help the hunger, as others have mentioned. I usually try to save the lightest meal of the day for last, and have the most filling one in the middle of the day. Also if I'm hungry I have some coffee with milk but no sugar.
In a way, an omelette is a good thing because it's so much trouble to make another one that it keeps you from having too much. You'll start to get a better idea of how big your meals should be.
Good luck!

Hi! i am a new member and I just have to say that I am on my 2nd cheat day of my first cycle and it is going great! I lost a total of 10lbs! I did do it for 12 days because my husband wanted me to have my cheat day on his day off, so instead of having 4 cheat days I had 12 diet days. Also I am following the new plan and I was following exactly as it said but then I realized by reading posts that i could substitute so I did. I would like to give you guys some ideas of what i did differently. To add to my success this diet didn't make me hungry, a little grouchy, a couple of headaches, but besides that I ate every 2 1/2 hrs, exercised everyday alternating weights and cardio. Here's some examples: First thing in the morning: 1 ounce of pomegranate juice extract (only 10 cal or so) , 1 ounce of mangosteen juice extract (about 25 cal or so) and 2 tablespoons of fiber with lots of water. My exercise was walking on the treadmill for 45 min speed of 3.9 on tues.,thurs, sat, and sun. Mon, wed, and fri 1/2hr of weights. By the way I drank at least 1 1/2 gallon of water everyday! I was always in the bathroom!!!! Also when my meal said milk w/ turkey slices I had 2 cups of lowfat organic milk with 3 tbls of organic p.b (By the way i am a organic freak!) When it was just a protein meal I had it with a side of veggies. Veggie day I had made chicken soup with veggies so i just had the veggies w/the soup. I did struggle on fruit day. that was the only day i felt hungry. I just couldn't bring myself to eating alot if it. When I would eat the fruit I felt full right away, but as time past by man! I was straving! If anyone has any suggestions for fruit day please let me know! And last but not least when it said frozen yogurt I had the chocolate frozen yogurt from costco. Well I hope this helps some of you. I can't wait to start my 2nd cycle. I wonder if I will also lose 10lbs? Has anyone out there have? My starting weight was 233, now 223. I would like to lose those 23 by mid Jan. because god-willing we will be traveling to Europe!! HAs anyone reached thier goal?

hi sillylili
I'm so happy that this diet worked for you. I bought it months ago, but never completed it. Now that I am going on vacations I'm thinking about doing it but still I'm a little skeptical.
Congratulations on your weight loss

I have just signed up and I sure am looking forward to starting. I know I should start tomorrow morning but will wait until Tuesday. It will be way to hard with this weekend being New Years and stuff.
Like everyone else I have tried them all. Before I changed jobs it was easier to keep the weight somewhat under control. My new job is truck driver. My hours are insane and I live in fast food restaurants. Sometime I drive for 20 hours at a time so my eating is out of boredom in those early morning hours.
I really need to drop 60 pounds. I really miss not having any energy or that just feeling good feeling.
So wish me luck on Tuesday. Tomorrow will be a food shopping day.

Good luck to you! I just downloaded the diet today, and plan to shop tomorrow. I know it won't be easy, dieting is never easy. I'm hoping it'll be easier than some I've tried in the past like Atkins when I passed out in my living room .
Happy New Years!

Laurie, what in the world happened. What could be missing in the Atkins that would make you pass out. That is really scary.

I was in the first week of the diet, like maybe day 4 or 5, and luckily it was a weekend and I was at home. I didn't feel very good; I had an upset stomach and a headache, I assumed it was just the "ketosis" making me feel bad. I was walking into my family room, and was going to lay on the couch; all of a sudden I got tunnel vision; and the next thing I knew I was on the floor. My head hit the couch, luckily it was the cushion! Anyway, my husband was in the next room and came running in when he heard the crash, he helped me get up and lay down on the couch. He was really upset, and didn't want me to stay on that diet, and honestly, fainting and feeling so crummy made me NOT want to stay on it. I had never felt that bad on a diet before, even when I was in high school and a diet for me constituted drinking Tab and smoking cigarettes. (Am I giving away my age?!) I know many people love Atkins and do very well with it, it just didn't work with my body chemistry.

Boy I for one would not do that diet again. I had tried the Atkins many years ago. I quite after a few days because I started getting cold sores and eye styes. Never had those before. I am really hoping that this works. Especially since I drive for a living. That is why this looked better than some.
By the way about the age thing, I drank Tab also and back then did the smokes to.

I am on day 4 and so far have not been having any trouble following the diet. Also, I am feeling fine, not hungry or cranky I haven't been on the scale yet, but I was wondering how other people may be doing who are new. I'm eating very plain food and while I see that as easy right now--it might be boring later on...but if I do lose weight as fast as the website said, I'll get used to boring
Anyone else out there?

Hi there :) Have only been visiting this site for the last 2 days but thought I'd answer your question (some of these posts haven't even been answered....how sad is that!)
I downloaded the diet this morning but haven't decided whether to start tomorrow (being a Saturday) or on Monday so that my cheat days fall next weekend.
Its great that you aren't having any trouble following the diet. I was a little confused about some of the meals but looking through this forum has helped (I think!). So I'm assuming that when it says chicken and cottage cheese, thats all I have, no salad etc?
Judging by your username you have 2 kids? I have 2 girls....nearly 9 years old and the other has just turned 4. I'm 32 and live in New Zealand. Could we be diet buddies? :)

Thanks for posting--I don't feel so alone or so new. I'd love a diet buddy :o) I have a son 13 and daughter 19. Even though I am new to this diet and new to these boards, I have used the taximom name for years...since before my daughter had her drivers license--hence the name "taxi" mom, but I miss all that time in the car with her now!!
I have been following the meal plan very very plainly. If the menu says "chicken and walnuts"...I eat chicken (seasoned with some of the allowed condiments) and sprinkle walnuts on top! I think once I get more comfortable with the diet, I'll start thinking more creatively. I agree that these posts help a lot!! I just want to get used to what I need to be doing before I branch out.
I haven't been on the scale yet, but my pants are fitting a bit looser--so I think something more than just water weight is being lost :o) Please let me know how you are doing on this. If you want to exchange email addresses--that would be great...if you'd rather post to each other on-line, that's great too! I think we could encourage each other.
I'll be gone this weekend to see my in-laws...so if I don't post back to you right away, don't think I've deserted you!

I'm new too. I was posting in the general thread but I'd love to join you ladies! It's always nice to have people in a similar place to chat with.
I just started yesterday and I have NO will-power. I had milk w/ my breakfast out of habit. OOPS... and I know tomorrow is going to be off-diet because we're having an italian style family diner. Today is my fruit day and so far I'm not find it very filling. I'm also finding it hard to have just one or two things to eat. I'm so used to haveing protein, carb & startch with most meals that this is a big adjustment for me. But, like you said, if it work like they say it does then I can hang in till I reach my goal weight. Which should take me about 2 months I hope. Oh, and when it says chicken and milk (or what ever your choices are) those are supposed to be your ONLY food for that meal. I don't know if you've read everything but when you create an 11 day menu it tells you what you can and can't do.
I haven't weighed myself but after 1 day I don't expect much. Actually, I plan to only weight my self on the day 11 or 12 each time so I don't feel dissapointed if it doesn't move much after 2-3 days. I'm trying to lose between 25-30 lbs. What are your goals?

Hello & welcome :o)
I would love to lose 20 lbs, but if I lose 30--I'll be thrilled!! I found the fruit day to be my hardest so far. I had my sandwich mid-day, but I was hungry at night so I had another piece of fruit before bedtime....I know that wasn't on the plan, but it was either that or I was going to dive into a box of cheese crackers!! The next morning I woke up hungry too....usually, I am not hungry first thing in the a.m., but I ate what I was supposed to eat...I'm looking forward to dropping some weight.
I haven't been on the scale yet, but I think I'll sneak a peak on Monday. This weekend will be a challenge because I'll be at my in-laws, but I'm going to do my best I will be walking twice a day, so I will have my exercise in at least!
Good luck this weekend--we can do this!! I'll look forward to connecting on Monday!!

Hi guys :) First of all, what part of the world are you in? Because you're working in pounds, I'm assuming you're not close to home :)
If I'm working it out right, 20-30 lbs is 9-13 kgs (which is the measurement we use in this part of the world :) I've got a lot more weight to shift then the both of you, need to lose about 30kgs which is about 65 lbs (if I'm getting it right).
I've decided to start on Monday so that my cheat days fall the following weekend. Is that what you did?
Twstychik......I too have zilch willpower!!! I did Sureslim in 2005 and lost 28lbs (i'm getting good at this!) but promptly put it all back on last year cos I just couldn't keep eating the food. It was a lot of seeds etc and heaps of veges and salad, which I just don't enjoy. I've really got to enjoy the food if I'm going to stick to it, and I just love protein!!! so can't see myself having problems with this one :)
Discussed it with my husband last night, and he's going to join me. He's the heaviest he's been ever and has just started at the gym yesterday, so I'm anxious to see how we both go. He'll probably peeve me off though cos he loses weight a lot faster then I do, but all guys do I think.
Please let me know how you get on with your vege day, I'm absolutely dreading that!! Also, I didn't pick the veges or salad in my list of foods for the 11 day plan, does that matter if I don't eat them daily and just leave it for the 8th day?
I plan on weighing myself on the 7th day and also the 14th (just after the cheat days) to see how I go. Although I may even weigh myself just before I start the cheat days so that I can keep an eye on whether I put on weight those 3 days.
I just love having someone so do this with! Keep it up ladies and I'll post on Monday with how my first day is going! Bye for now.......

Have you ladies decided on a name for your new club yet?
"I did Sureslim in 2005 and lost 28lbs (i'm getting good at this!) but promptly put it all back on last year cos I just couldn't keep eating the food. "
One of the main problems experienced by most slimmers is maintaining the achievements. That's because most diets are not a sustainable way of eating for the long term.
It's important to know how you'll 'maintain' before you get to the point where you need to do it.
At some stage, it might be wise to move over to eating 'normal' foods and tracking the constituents (carbs, protein, fat) to see what agrees with you for maintaining your weight loss.
Another tip: concentrate on body fat %, not just body weight. If you lose 10 pounds, but 5 of those pounds were muscle, you're much less likely to keep that weight off!
Good luck to you all for '07 and beyond.

Hello,
It is Monday and I am starting my veggie day today. I am on day 8 and I stepped on the scale (even though I wasn't going to) and I am 5.6 lbs lighter. I did "cheat" yesterday when we went out to eat, but not terribly...I ate sensibly, small portions, nothing fried, no added fats...but not the combination I was supposed to keep.
I have to admit, I'm glad I did step on the scale because it will give me incentive to follow today as an all veggie day. All veggie will be challenging, but I am hoping to make a psuedo eggplant parmesaen for dinner. I was going to slice eggplant and grill it, pour some homemade tomato sauce made out of canned diced tomatoes that I will season myself, and sprinkle some of the 1 oz of grated cheese and hope it tastes yummy. I'm planning two meals of leafy green salads and one meal of mixed raw veggies-brocolli, cauliflower, pepper, and whatever else I can find in the frig. I generally find raw veggies more satifying than cooked--I think I like the crunch! I'll let you know tomorrow if I was able to do it, but I am pretty motivated after seeing the scale this a.m. I know it isn't all water weight because my jeans are looser
I'm in Vermont, USA--it is in the northeast section of the country. It is supposed to be cold and snowy here this time of year, but it has been "unseasonably" warm, so I have no excuse not to walk twice a day!!
I agree that we do need a name for our group--what does everyone think? I also agree that this is not a life time fix for my weight problem, but I am hoping it will jump start me to where I need to be...then I can find a workable maintenance program. (which will probably never include Doritos :o)
How is everyone else doing so far?

Well, I'm starting all over today on day 1 again. My weekend got a bit out of hand and since I'd only made it two days I decided to start over. Which means another fruit day! Whopee! That was hard the first time last week. LOL
Oh, I'm in the midwest US. So, for conversions maybe this'll help.
1 pounds = 0.45359237 kilograms
Pounds to Kilos healthyweightforum.org/eng/converter.asp
Kilos to Pounds metric-conversions.org/weight/kilograms-to-pounds.htm
I much prefer my weight in Kilos... LOL It's a smaller number.

Hey twsty-
I like the whole kilo idea...when I did the conversion--I sound skinny :o) I think your starting over is a good idea too even though it does mean another fruit day. So far I am doing fine with my veggie day, but it isn't even noon time yet so it is probably too early to be saying that...LOL!!

Hi guys,
I'm on my 2nd day....fruit day YAY! not! I'm doing OK though, was a little hungry about 10ish but that soon passed and I'm about to have my lunch I'm saving the sandwich for my dinner meal so that it feels a little heavier.
Yesterday was great! I can definately stick to this with all the protein we have to eat....I'm so much a protein girl
Thanks Twstychik for those conversion links, heaps easier than the one I was using!
How are you both getting on with drinking your water? I hate drinking water, have never really drunk much other than a tea or coffee first thing in the morning. My mum used to joke that my insides should all be shrivelled up because of the lack of liquids I put in to my body Also, are you putting milk with your tea or coffee?
Oh and Ruth - that weight loss is awesome! I converted it to kilos and I'll be really happy if I lose that after 7 days!! WELL DONE!!

Hi Mishi-
So glad you are doing well on your fruit day!! I did ok until before bedtime--but I just ate another apple and it "held me over" until the morning. I have been pretty good about my water...I sometimes (often ) will eat out of nervousness or boredom--I have been trying to train myself to reach for ice water first and walk out of the kitchen. By the time I drink it....the urge to eat will usually pass.
My real challenge (other than sticking with the meal plan, of course), is walking twice a day for 30 min. It is hard for me to find that 60 minutes...but I'll keep working on finding that time!! At least I am walking more that I was before so I see that as positive.
My eggplant parmasean was okay. Nothing I'd serve to company (or anyone else!), but it made me good that I was starting not to eat as plainly as I had been. I'll keep playing with the recipe--the sauce was a bit acidic....I probably should have dropped in a bit of Splenda or something...oh well....I think more can be done with this diet than I thought initially. Have a good rest of the day & I'll "connect" soon! Let me know how your day went!

I LOVE water so it's relatively easy for me to drink 64+ oz. of water in a day. I do add some powdered creamer to my coffee and tea when I have it but I usually stick to water. Oh, and the colder your water the more calories your body will burn warning it up. If you really don't like water try adding just a splash of fruit juice to give it some flavor. Also, are you drinking tap water or filtered water? I find I can't drink tap water... it tastes pretty yucky but filtered water has a clean crips feel/taste.
I'm on my fruit day today (take 2) and I feel better about it. I spent awhile last night cutting up lots of fruit to toss together for a nice salad I can eat all day. I'm looking forward to the veggie day too. I'm planning to do spagettie squash w/ plain tomatoe sauce. It's something I think my fiance will enjoy too. He really enjoyed eating the fruit that I couldn't fit into my container last night. So, maybe some of my diet will rub off on him too.
Oh, and exercise. I haven't done any and I'm not a walker. Plus it's below freexing here (finally) so walking outside isn't my idea of fun right now. I have classes tonight so no time today but tomorrow I plan to get back into my yoga routine. I think it's just as good as walking and it's something I always enjoy when I actually do it.

Hi All,
I would love to join your thread, i started the plan yesterday and so far so good. I enjoy lowcarbing and this plan seems very doable, until i begin to go on a tangent.
I seriously began to lose some weight the last 3 months of 2006, i lost 13lbs and then took a Christmas break and gained 7lbs back.....not bad considering i overly indulged till yesterday .
I look forward to enjoying your successes with you.

I hate drinking water....a cup of tea a day used to do me, so I feel really bloated if I drink too much water but I'm trying and thats the important thing. Anything is got to be better than what I was drinking before! I have a filtered water cooler here at work so that is much easier to drink than tap water...yuk!
Fruit day went well for me yesterday, and my husband even managed to stick to it as well. It helps me so much that he's doing this with me. He's never had a weight problem so all my previous diets I've done alone (probably why I've never succeeded). Its so hard when other members of the household are able to eat what they like! But this plan is much more easier to cope with than the others I've tried, so even when he stops it I know I can keep going without him
Hi there newbie, how much do you want/need to lose? I need to lose alot more than twstychik and ruth, so I'll be here for a while

Hi & welcome New Member--the more the merrier, we're all in this together!!
I think I will chop up a fruit salad for my next fruit day...that's a really good idea. I also think having support at home is very important. My husband's nickname is "Mr. Metabolism"....he eats everything--ice cream by the carton, yet he has low cholesterol and needs to gain about 15 lbs....life isn't fair sometimes! BUT he is very supportive and that really does make a difference.
I also appreciate the support & good ideas from this forum. Have a good day all!

Yeah new people! I think the mor eof us there are the better our chances of sticking to it.
So, I did my fruit yesterday. I had a different fruit or fruits at each meal and then I had a wendy's club sandwich for diner. Now, I have a realy bad sweet tooth and fruit just wasn't going to cut it so I had a half a chocolate chip cookie. I also weighed myself this morning which is probably too soon but I'm down 2-3 lbs. from Monday morning. Today is a protien day and I can't wait to get my milk! My old routine included a large glass of milk with/for breakfast every morning so thats one thing I've really been missing.

Good morning everyone!!!!
Thanks for the welcome .
This is day 3 for me.
I'm feeling much more energized, i got really sluggish after consuming too much food over the holidays. I was lowcarbing for almost 3 months before Christmas and my energy level was great and then i went crazy with food...i ate everything in sight and gained 7lbs, i have now lost 4lbs. I really thought i had gained all 13lbs back, what a relief....i guess it was mostly water weight.....not complaining .
I can't wait to see what results i get after day 11. The most i have ever lost is 13lbs with lowcarbing, food rotation is very new to me so i pray to see great results.
Have a great on plan day everyone.

Day 4 today I found my fruit day fine. Had two pieces of fruit in the morning, but then for lunch to do something different I chopped up a fruit salad with grapes and strawberries etc. Just helped shock my brain into thinking I wasn't eating the same thing twice!
I'm finding this reasonably easy to stick to. I'm definately not hungry between meals (maybe my fruit day I was a little) and it helps that hubby is doing it with me. That definately helps me stick to it
One question though.....can anyone shed a little light on the "cool whip" that goes with the fruit salad dessert? We don't have that over here, so maybe someone can tell me what it is so that I can find a substitute over here. Is is like cream or custard or something that goes on the top of your fruit?
Hope everyone is doing good today....KEEP IT UP!

Hi Everyone! It was my first day today, but I feel like I've known all of you for a while! I've been reading this forum for a couple of days (I just posted a message on the General Chat 'part one' post).... And I thought I'd try this diet... Have tried so much in the past and can never stay motivated. Well, the day started out really good... until my mother decided to cook us a roast lamb.... and I was meant to eat bacon with tuna salad plate.. I'm just guessing this is ok since it seems a couple of you substitute some foods. BUUUUT, then I just had to have a bread roll with it!!! Owell, tomorrow is a new day (fruit day), so I guess I will make it up tomorrow and keep my front door locked incase someone else decides to sabotage me!LOL!!! I did find that after about an hour of eating a meal, I became really hungry? Maybe I'm not eating enough? Anyway, it's nice to meet all of you...

Welcome Kaz, i'm also quite new to this way of eating. Today is day 4 and so far so good .
Mishie- Cool whip is similar to whipped cream, i don't know that exact nutritional information. I would be getting a tub of low-fat cool whip tomorrow, so i could give you more concrete info.
Yesterday was good, i had roast beef and bread for dinner and it felt a little strange eating bread as i was previously doing Atkins. I'm so pleased that i can incorporate a lot of the foods i enjoy and not feel deprived or starved. I really now don't have any excuse to fail.
Have a great on plan day everyone .

Thanks size 10, would appreciate the cool whip info
Bread???? How do you get bread on your menu? I only got 2 slices on day 2 to go with my fruit day?
On day 6 today, and am doing well. Have had no hiccups but probably will tonight as we have friends coming over. Need to plan better and only have them over on my "3 days off"
Hope everyone is doing well and keep it up!

Hi all-
I'm starting with Day 1 again today. I followed the diet very closely the first 9 days, then I had to fly to Colorado for a few days and I really didn't do so well eating out every meal--but at least I didn't go "wild"--except for pizza night , BUT the good news is after 9 days on and 5 days off (the last 2 were REALLY off), I am still down 5 lbs! I don't have any trips/outings/holiday meals or any excuse NOT to follow the diet all the way through for the next 14 days, so I'm motivated to do it again.
Cool whip is a non-dairy whipped topping--the top 4 ingrediants in regular Cool Whip (not the fat free Cool Whip) are: Water, corn syrup, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, and more corn syrup. I didn't use any in my fruit salad dessert....I just ate a plain fruit salad. If you like the extra sweetness, you could probably add some Splenda or SweetnLow. If you want the creamy texture--maybe a little bit of non-fat yogurt??? I hope that is helpful!
I have to admit, I find the protien days easiest to follow--good day everyone--let me know how everyone else did after their first cycle! I hope I lose another 5 lbs. after the next cycle too! This really has been pretty easy to follow when I'm at home!
Bye for now

Thanks Ruth for the cool whip info - memo to me must go find it for next time. Just had a plain fruit salad but would like something a little different next time
Well, day 8 for me today - salad and vege day Breakfast was disgusting and lunch will be just as bad. But I will stick to plan!!! One day out of 11 I can do!! Weighed myself this morning (will weigh each 7th and 14th day) and am down 2 kilos....4.4 lbs I believe! I am rapt with that and it has given me the incentive to stick to today's meals even more.
Only had one slight hiccup with one meal over the weekend. Went ten pin bowling with the family and some friends and had 3 glasses of wine and afterwards had an Oporto's chicken burger and fries whilst everyone tucked into McDonalds! And to be honest it didn't agree with me the next day. I wonder if that is because we have eliminated most fats from our diet?
Hope everyone is sticking to plan and doing well!

Mishi--great weight loss and great job sticking to the plan!!! Something I forgot to mention about the Cool Whip is that it is usually found in the frozen food aisle (even though it has to be thawed before use). Years (and years and years) ago there was a product called "Dream Whip"....I don't even know if they still make it or if it is a suitable substitute...but that used to be found in the baking goods area--it was in a box and you had to add the liquid to mix it up.
Have a good day!!
