You can do it, firmjoy - from everything I've read it shouldn't be a problem if you just follow the plan - I've dieted on and off for years, sometimes successfully, sometimes not so. I try and drink a lot of water/coffee/tea when I'm hungry, it helps get me thru til the next meal.  And since I eat every 3 hours on this diet, it's not bad at all.  I tend to do better to start my first meal late morning, so that I have a meal or snack left to eat at the end of the day.  8pm is hardest time of day for me. :pig:

Welcome and good luck MunchaBunch!

I am on day 8 of my 3rd rotation doing the new diet.  I have consistently lost 5 lbs per rotation, and only gained 1 lb on my last off days.  I like the variety of choices with the new plan.  I have accessed the old plan and will try it for my next rotation and see how they compare.

Has anyone else here tried both versions?

I was able to access it by following instructions from another board member. Go to dietaccess.com, then click on the link to change your user name.  I just added a 1 to my original name, kept the same password, then it let me in.

I kept my original username/password on the new diet site, and it works, too.  Hope you have success...

Used To MunchaBunch,

When you post the thread moves to the top so people will see it. Plus if they have posted in it, or clicked on the Watch Topic button, they will get an e-mail notification any time anyone posts in it.

Please be aware that I have a My Diary forum, also. Individuals and sometimes buddies post there on a daily basis.

Anyone wanting to keep a diary may do so there, or even in the Fat Loss 4 Idiots forum with a topic title like:  My Diary by Used to MunchaBunch.

Hope that helps. You can e-mail questions from the link on any page anytime! (I don't always see everything posted in the forums.)

HOLY BATMAN AND ROBIN!!!!!!

I just got on the scales and I'm down FOUR POUNDS SINCE MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Talk about pumped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the good news, now for the hard stuff....  I waited too long between meals to eat, my fault entirely  and I was pretty miserable.  I wouldn't let myself overeat tho, and today I am going to strictly adhere to the 3 hour rule.  My problem was I started eating at 9am, and since I'm a night eater, I had to wait too long to space meals out. I do much better with coffee in the morning and my first meal at 11am - 2pm - 5pm - 8pm - so that's the plan for today.

Thanks for the input Peter, I'm so glad I found a soft place to land on this forum.  Support is everything.  :D

I've been on the new plan for 3 cycles with the all fruit day.  I thought I would starve that day, but I have not.  I have my sandwich for lunch, and have not been hungry.  I do  LOVE fruit, so I look forward to this day!  I think the fruit/vege day on the old plan might be harder for me, but Jayelle's vege chili in the recipe thread is delicious!

What meal do you eat Jayelle's chili for?  Do you eat it on your mixed vcggie meal?  I think I could eat it on my fruit/veggie day.  The old plan is different, instead of eating a sandwich and fruit on that day, you eat 3 meals, one veggie meal and 2 fruit meals.

I'm really like the old plan, compared them both, and preferred the choices on the old plan because I can have hamburger, melon, pineapple and bananas.

WOW, 3 cycles, how impressive - you're sticking with it... How much have you lost?

Still excited...

Jayelle was SO right about the ground turkey.  I drizzled just a bit, probably 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil in a skillet, added 1/3 lb. of ground turkey and part of a finely diced onion, Tony Chichiare's Creole Seasoning and a dash of red pepper flakes.  Sauteed it, then stirred in a bit (probably a tablespoon) of Heinz Low Carb Ketchup, a squirt of yellow mustard, a dash of worcheshire sauce and a sprinkling of Brown Sugar Splenda.  It was GREAT!!!

I ate it all, would have been to die for if I could have had some coleslaw, but I couldn't, and I'm full.

When I first looked at today's menu, I thought "oh, this is gonna be rough."  1st meal was cottage cheese, 2nd meal was mixed nuts, then the turkey and finally tonight I get a orange/pineapple smoothie.

I was pleasantly surprised, ate 2/3 cup  cottage cheese at 12, the nuts at 3, and I was good to go til 6 -

I ate about 1/3 cup of nuts, I'm thinking that's too many, but I was still a bit hungry afterwards.  How many nuts do others eat   Do you think I'm eating too large of portions

Another .5 lbs. gone - that's 4.5 since Sunday... I was gone last evening, got home late, didn't eat my 4th meal.   Today is veggies and fruits, I'm a bit apprehensive about being really hungry since the only protein I'll have is in the pinto beans I'm having for lunch.  But I will deal with it...  Gonna have a cuppa :coffee: and it will have to hold me until 11 am.  My fault for not eating that last meal yesterday evening, now I'm hungry.  :nono:

Firmjoy, I'm sure the running is ok, it's exercise.  Hang in there, stay focused on that wedding.  This is much better than stress eating, which I tend to do when I'm under pressure.

My avatar is a Yorkie!!!  I have an adorable 9 year old, Yorkie, Munchie, so I tend to do everything centered around her, i.e. used to munchabunch.  I sell on ebay, my seller name is Munchie Business, my personal web pages are munchiebusiness.com.  See what I mean?  I'm getting a new Yorkie pup, soon, trying to decide on a name, hot contenders right now are Lulu, Daisy and Hotstuff....  I'm possessed, I know..... :P

Yesterday was not easy.  This morning I'm up .5 lbs.  I'm not concerned, I didn't cheat, but OMG it was HARD.   I made Jayelle's veggie soup, it was really good, I may have eaten too much, two bowls last night, but Jeez Louise I was STARVING!!!!!

I'm going to lunch with a girlfriend today, another hurdle, but maybe we'll go to Red Lobster, I can at least have a piece of broiled fish...

You're right, Peter, she's the best dog I've ever had...

Weight went down, yesterday's gain was just fluid -  5 lb. loss now, since Sunday.  :yumm: I think I'm thru the fast losing water weight stage, and will see a much slower loss now.  In my Weight Watcher days, my body would typically hold on to weight.  I would register a half pound or so loss a week, and then once a month it would go down  3-4 lbs.  (This was when I was just weighing once a week).   It will be interesting if I continue to have the same pattern eating this way.

I don't panic when the scales don't budge, I just stay the course and it eventually will drop.

I'm starving this morning, trying to hold off til 11am - that works best for me.  I'm still doing good with this, thrilled about the loss, as determined to succeed as ever.  It's a struggle, but I WON'T cheat...

But ya know, in life you pretty much have to work for everything you get, weight loss is no different.  I'm getting there.  One meal at a time.....

Yesterday I made mini cherry cheesecakes for a meeting at our house last night.  I would have loved to have had just one, but I didn't cave.  They're gone now, thank goodness, not taunting at me in the fridge.  Update tomorrow.....

Still going....

Weight is still sitting at 5 lb. loss.  It was a really hard day yesterday.  I starved all day.  Ate a few nuts I shouldn't, and last night I had two pieces of fat free cheese that wasn't allowed.  I was just miserable I was so hungry and did the best I could to limit damage control.

This morning is good tho...  I had a coffee, waiting until noon to eat - good menu choices today, too.  Roast Beef Sandwich at noon, tuna salad plate in the afternoon, chicken with a little pasta and spaghetti sauce for dinner, and oatmeal for a snack.

I'm as determined as ever...  I know the scale will go on down, it can't sit at a 5 lb. loss with the way I'm eating.

I'm walking of a morning, 85 this morning, but I did it....

Life is good - I CAN DO THIS!!!!

Just started the diet today and am interested in the old diet. Can't seem to follow the links that you suggested do you know if this still works? Is it really true that you could eat a hambrger and pasta on the old diet?

Could someone please confirm if sausage links are what we call in the UK normal pork sausages, I do not want to start tucking into bangers if this is not the case.

I look forward to someone getting back to me as soon as possible as these sausages appear on today's menu.

Must go and have another glass of water!!!

Hi and welcome pommedownunder!

I am on the new plan and have used chicken sausages for sausage links, but I do think the mean the pork breakfast sausage links.  I have not seen any more details than sausage links anywhere.

I was able to access the old menus, and have generated a plan for my next rotation, but I think I like the new plan better.  The old plan includes different foods, like hamburgers and pasta, than the new plan, but there are a lot more choices with the new plan.

I'm now on Day 10 , down another quarter of a pound, for a total of 5.25 lbs. now.  I think I'm eating too many nuts, substituting them when I shouldn't for a meal.  But I have a history of losing EXTREMELY slow, so maybe I'm thru the water portion of the diet now, and into the fat loss.  It's so hot in Evansville, 100 yesterday, so I'm not walking either.  Just can't handle the heat!  Maybe I'll hit the mall today, at least I can get some exercise there.

I continue to struggle with this, afraid to eat  large enough portions to sustain me, and then being really hungry.  I'm also going to extend my IPD days by one day.  I was scheduled to start my first cheat day on Thursday, but I'm going to stay on program an extra day because I want my cheat days to always be Friday/Saturday/Sunday.

I'm actually looking forward to the 2nd rotation.  Am I nuts or what???

I am not losing weight on the vegetarian version of the diet...

Has anyone else experienced this and had better luck on the omnivore version of the diet?! Veggie version has a LOT of beans and therefore a lot of carbs all the time, so maybe is less intensely macronutrient cycling?

Would love to hear your thoughts...

FIRST ROTATION IS OVER - I'M DOWN 7 LBS

I'm a happy camper - my goal next rotation is to lose 4 lbs..

I'm going to eat a bit more than usual the next 3 days, well actually I'm not starting the 3 day timeout until Friday, but I'm not going to go crazy.  I'm on a roll, and don't want to gain a couple of pounds and have to take it back off.

Life is good....

That's a fantastic loss well done, I hope I get halfway to that with my first rotation. I haven't got much to loose so I seem to be losing at a bit slower rate, only quater of a pound yesterday but it is still a loss I suppose. I think that I am also eating too many nuts and too much cheese I will cut it down today and see what happens.

How many nuts does everyone else eat and also how much cheese?

IPD is a bear for me to stay on, but ANY diet is a bear to stay on, and the fast results with this diet ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to eat a couple of regular meals while I'm off rotation, then back to it!

Happy Dance, Happy Dance.....

Hi all,  I am new to this site and have been doing the idiotproof diet, (I guess the old version where there were 14 choices)  The new version you are talking about must be different.  Are there 30 choices?  Do we have to pay again to get the new version?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

My three day cheat is over, and I'm down another 3/4 pound, for a total of 8 lbs. now.  Did I cheat?  Not really. I did have two ears of corn on the cob last night with beans, and tomatoes, no meat.   I had a taco salad on Saturday with only 3 chips and salsa.  The shell was baked, I ate 1/3 of it...  I just didn't want to eat a lot and be up 3 lbs. and then have it take a few days to get that back off before I started losing again.

Family is coming home on next cheat cycle, so then I'll eat more, I'm sure, but I'm back on program this morning...

I'm reading that a couple of people are bailing.  I'm so sorry it didn't work for them. I'm just pleased that I'm sticking with it.  I'm always a "bit" hungry, but I'm getting used to it, and find that if I drink a glass of water/peach tea (my fave from Crystal Lite) or a Diet Coke it helps with the hunger a lot...

I've had great success with cottage cheese for my first meal... I put a packet of Splenda in it and sprinkle it liberally with Saigon Cinnamon (McCormicks) and it's pretty darn good.  It's cheesy, it's sweet, no danish by any stretch of the imagination, but it goes down easier for me with the Splenda/cinnamon...

Another thing that is working well for me is baking orange roughy that I've brushed both sides with Grey Poupon mustard, and then sprinkled with Tony Chichiare's Creole Seasoning.  15 minutes in the toaster oven at 350, and it's really good.  Something about the tang of the mustard and the hot of the creole seasoning really gives it a kick...

Actually, I have antique penny scales that I use to weigh.  They are right on the money.  But, if I were in the market for scales, I would cough up the bucks and by a set of professional doctor's scales.  I've weighed on my girlfriend's scales, EVERY scale is different.  Of course, we should focus more on the way we are looking and the way our clothes fit, but I'm a scale junkie, I'm on there every morning.  I want to know EXACTLY how much I weigh!

If the dr. scales seem too pricey for your budget, sell something on eBay, girl.  You can always do that to generate quick cash.  I've sold on eBay for years, made great extra money doing it.

You can do this, just look at it as a job right now.  You might not like it, but you are doing this to get the weight off as quickly AND AS HEALTHILY as you can.

I averaged a pound a week at Weight Watchers, and eventually I will go back to eating either the Weight Watcher way or South Beach, but for now, I'm motivated and want to get off 2 pounds a week.  Greedy little devil that I am.

So just do it, and if you are hungry, you are hungry.  It's a pain, but this works if you watch those portion sizes and don't overeat.

If I'm absolutely, positively famished, I will allow myself a SMALL handful of mixed, probably 8-10 nuts with a cup of hot tea.  It works for me.  Just be careful with those nut portions, count them out, and then PUT THEM AWAY!!!

Good luck, let me know how you do...  Jan

BTW, I love the ground turkey, I buy the Honeysuckle White Turkey Breast in a roll, then I put a teaspoon of olive oil in my wok skillet, add chopped onion, and green pepper, lots of Tony Chichiare's Creole Seasoning, and the turkey.  I saute the entire bag at once, turning it constantly and cutting it up into crumbles.

Into the fridge it goes, it's 3 meals for me.  Sometimes I put on a bit of 2% mozzarella cheese when I heat it, sometimes I add a bit of sauteed zucchini, it's really good.  Works for me.

Also good with taco seasoning.

I'm using the old diet plan, and it calls for ground turkey, the new one calls for turkey slices - I don't see any difference myself.  I like the ground, because it's more versatile.  If you are a purist, you will adhere strictly, but I just don't think it would matter at all..  It's pretty much the same calories and fat.  Should work fine for you..

I also just started on Monday, August 7. Today is near the end of my fruit day and I am a little hungry, but not too bad. I am not weighing in until after the 11 days. I would like to lose 25-30 pounds. Anyway, lets keep each other posted. I'm going to go eat a peach now. :yum:

LIFE IS GOOD THIS MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm down another 1.5 lbs, for a total now of 9.5 gone!!!!!  This is SO totally worth it!!! So, newcomers, just stay the course, don't get discouraged if you weigh daily like me, (I know it's wrong, I know, I'm a scales junkie) and your weight doesn't drop.  You won't lose weight every day, some days you may go up just a bit. It's fluid, don't sweat it! :nono:  Eeks, horrible play on words.... :nono:

It's splenda/cinnamon cottage cheese for me later this morning.  I'm outta here, time for a cuppa :coffee:

My fruit day wasn't so bad. I had the sandwich first like it said in the plan. I had a cup of coffee around 9:30 and ate my first meal (the sandwich) around 11:00. Then I had a plate of grapes at 2:00, a plum and peach at 5:00, and another peach and kiwi at 8:00. I think by holding off until 11 for the sandwich helped sustain me through the day. I did wake up hungry this morning and I don't usually wake hungry. This mornings boiled eggs and cheese was very filling and I think today will be a good day. Thanks for the welcome.

I have been through 3 rotations on the new plan and found the best way for me to get through the fruit day without being hungry is to have the sandwich for lunch (meal 2).  I love fruit, so I love this day.  Also, you don't need to limit your fruit too much.  If you are really hungry, eat more fruit in your meals.

I'm holding steady at 9.5 down.  I don't look for the scales to move on down for a few more days.  That's the way my body operates.  STILL PUMPED!!!!!!

I am not a vegetarian, but definitely prefer the veggie version of this diet. I don't have time to make tuna salad and eggs; I really like the nuts and fruit and cottage cheese. I found that if I put a pre-determined amount of nuts in a baggie I don't overeat.

I have done this diet off and on for a few months and really like it. I just turned 50 and my metabolism seems to truly be tricked by this diet. I started at 145 (I'm 5'7") and am 135. I would like to get about 130, so am in the cycle again. I'm on day 6.

This morning I put on some 29" jeans that I hadn't worn in about 4 years. This were not even cutting off my respiration!

Exercise of course is very important...

Good luck and hang in there!

Weight hasn't changed.  Going to step up the exercise today and stay out of the nuts.  I'm doing great, still...  The scale will drop.  I'm hoping for another lb. loss by mid-week..

Weight till the same, but not surprised.  We were in Nashville for the past 3 days - ate out every meal, made as good of choices as I could, at least I treaded water. Family coming home tonight for the weekend.  I start next rotation on Monday, hardcore for me the next rotation, I want to drop another five lbs....  My goal is to stay the course, and try not to eat much this weekend even tho it's my cheat weekend.!!!!

No, the idea is to trick your metabolism by shaking up the carb and protein offerings.

How did you two do? Wonderful I hope. I am starting a new cycle today and as always love the feeling of lightness and "in control" that comes with this diet.

I'm up 2 lbs. from my cheat weekend, and did NOT start another rotation yesterday.  I ate pasta, then had cookies last night instead.  Arughhhhhhhhhhh, I know it was because I had sugar on my free days.  I am not going to do that again, it isn't worth it.  Sugar makes me crave EVERYTHING,and it's hard to give it up.

So anyway, I'm back in the saddle again this morning, last rotation was bad for me, we were in Nashville, then I had my kids here from Texas for a long weekend.  But you know what, it's okay that I haven't lost more, at least I haven't gained that much and I'm focused this morning.

I'm going to do the new plan this time, see how that works for me.  I'll be back with updates.  I'm determined!

Hi all, I haven't been around for a few days, I'm down 10 lbs. and holding.  There has been too much going on here, I haven't followed plan to the letter, but I'm happy to not have gained.  Still pumped.....
