The old plan had fewer foods and only one or two per meal (mostly 1).  Most of the foods are available in both, but more can be found in the "New version of IDP" thread.

I've been posting my progress every day in my diary thread. Go look it up in the "my diary" section. Unfortunately, I haven't been doing that well with it - but that doesn't mean to say it won't work for you! If you want some honest information about this diet than take a look. I'd love to hear if you get on well with it too!

I've been following the new version and I'm not doing as well as I'd hoped! All the ups and downs are recored on my diary thread.

If anyone wants to read to get an honest and complete account of what the food is like and how much weight I'm losing before they get the plan then take a look. If anyone is using the new plan far more succesfullly than me than perhaps they can give me some pointers? Losingallofit what's your secret? Basically, I'm following the plan to the letter and not losing. Help me please! I'm getting very demoralised and fed up.

Thanks for the info, Jayelle-- although Juanita's instructions are only for accessing the NEW diet info. As a person who signed up for the diet after they switched to the new format, I'm only given access to that new plan-- I had previously signed up long ago on the old format, and would greatly prefer to use the old diet, but can't seem to get access. Even if I go to dietaccess.com, it still logs me in to the new program. If anyone figures out how a new person can get access to the OLD menu generator, that would be awesome. Thanks!

Hey RoxieP

I am on the 10th day of the first cycle in the new program. I have already lost 9 pounds. I don't really have any pointers for you, and I don't know why the plan isn't working. Are you drinking all the water that is required? I'm sorry I can't be of more help to you. Good luck.

Hi...I am just preparing to start the ipd on Monday.  I found frozen yogurt at Albertsons.  They had Hagen Daaz, Ben and Jerrys, and others.  Do you have an Albertsons near you?  You might be able to order some online too.

I shop at Albertsons the most, i think ive been there 4-5 things during the cycle to buy food for the next day, and ive been starting at the ice cream section for 10 minutes reading every label, looking for frozen yogurt. couldnt find ANY. so i went to an albertsons near my uncles, not there, went to target, savemart to see if they had frozen yogurt. couldnt find any!! so useless for me :(. maybe ill just live off frozen yogurt at the mall where i work even though its 2 dollars a cup :|

RoxieP,

With all due respect, if you would summarize your experiences and what you think the problem is, I would love to help you figure out what is wrong.  I seed you post links to you diary over and over and frankly, I don't have time to read all the detail.

Can you help us help you, please?

 Hi there,

So far so good.I just got back from the lake and made sure I had everything for breakfast and lunch and then I will get the rest of the groceries today.

Breakfast called for the banana shake, ham, and bacon.I had the shake a few pieces of bacon and a large glass of water:cool:

Im really looking forward to this plan as it seems quite straight forward and  easy to pack along if one needs to.

I weighed into day at 160.5.....so I would like to lose at least 30 pounds.

How has the program worked for you this far? Have you tried the new plan.

Have a great day and I will post my progress as I go:cool:

You can make a request to the Albertson's manager and they can get it for you, or go to albertsons.com and see if you can buy it that way.  Good luck!

Tomorrow will be my salad day. This is my second cycle. It seems to have gone by so quickly! I lost 6 lb first cycle. Gained back 1.5 on my cheat days. I lost the 1.5 plus another pound. Total loss so far is 7 lbs. That's not so bad, considering that I started on May 30th. I would probably lose more, but I do allow myself 1 glass of red wine every day and I haven't been doing any excercise. I'm planning to try to stay on this until I've lost another 30 lbs.

This diet isn't for everyone, but it is just what I was looking for.

Day # 2

I have followed it to a tee and this is the results so far. I know, it's probably water weight , but anything that keeps me motivated is good. We are at the end of the 2nd day and all is good. Did I mention that my boyfriend is doing this with me. Most of it I have gained since I met him. He loves to eat as much a I do and he has gained a little too.

200pickles, there are two versions of the FL4I diet and those were choices on the original version.  If you signed up after mid April unfortunately those choices are not available to you.  I am assuming you are on the new version because these items can't be missed on the old one.  The choices appear several times.

Sorry for any confusion but earlier posts will refer to the old version and most of these posts (all the older ones) will as well.

I believe the hamburger and pasta choices are on the old plan.  Those of us who are new do not have access to the old menus.  I am on day 10 of my first cycle.  I just generated menus for my second cycle, and changed the foods a bit.  I had too many nuts this first cycle, and I have a hard time limiting them, so next cycle I won't have nuts.  I don't know what variety was offered with the old plan, but the range of foods offered for us to choose is very good.  However, I think our food choices might affect our results if we are not careful.

I have been on the plan for 3 days now. what I see is alot of deli style lunch meat. There are no choices for Real Turkey, Real Roast Beef  or Real Ham and definatelt no Hamburger or Hotdogs. I was just wondering why all the processed meats:D

I remedied that by only selecting one deli meat (sliced turkey) from the list when generating menus.  I still have the option of any deli meat on the fruit day, but I also get more chicken and shrimp meals.

Day # 3

Still going strong. I did some yard work today and a little exercise. I do not feel hungry and have stuck to the plan exactly. Walnuts for a nitetime snack. I like riut so, so far the fFruit and Deli day is my favorite. My energy level is good and I do not feel like giving up. Which is a good thing for me, because I am known not to stick to plans or schedules and I usually do what I want.

Thanks dawgfan1,

I will try that next cycle. There are just so many preservitives and salt in the processed meats it's hard to beleive you should eat so much of it. I did choose all the meats I liked, but some of them show up way too much.

Day # 5

OOPS, missed day # 4 I have been real busy. Sold a house, Booked a cruise and had an interview for a new job. AND, I've lost 6 lbs in 5 days.

Yippie.

The cruise in an Eastern Cababbian Cruise. We leave from Ft. Laudredale ,Fla on 9/2 and go to St, Thomas, St. Maarten and one stop in the Bahamas at the Princess Cays Resort. So, I have only 8 weeks to look as good as I can.  Oh, I also joined Curves. I was a member before and liked it and did real good, but for financial reasons had to quit. I am having no problem so far sticking to the plan. And, Steve is being so supportive. I guess he wants to trim up a bite before the cruise too.

Day #6 and 7

Fruit w/ cool whip on day seven. I just can't see how you lose weight eating cool whip. I have still been faithful and have not swayed. I have maintained the 6 lb loss for the last two days. I expected it according to others postings. And, I know weighing every day is not a good idea, but I know what can happen and if you can take the ups and downs and not get discouraged I guess it's OK. I cannot wait until Friday to start my 3 cheat days. On the other hand I am thinking of what I should eat  compared to what I think I want to eat. When the day comes I'll just have to see what is more important. I WILL be having Mexican food at least once. The question is what will I choose and how many chips will I eat.

Day # 8

Well it's the end of day #8. Maintained again, but thats ok. Today I found my self not very hungry. I forced myself to eat a little at every meal. Just not my usual appetite. I had woke up with a headache and took a 4 hour nap (not like me either). I hope I'm not coming down with something. Lots of Stress going on right now. I hope I can sleep tonight. No Desire to cheat, but cannot wait until Friday.

Cycle 2 / Day 1

Well, I got a little behind on the postings, but here how it has gone since day 8.

I maintained the 6 lb loss up to the end of the cycle ( my first). On Thursday I was so busy I only ate 3 meals. I added biscuits to breakfast and when out for Mexican food. Nuts and chocolate for a snack.

On Saturday I had turkey wraps, chips and dip 2 beers. For dinner we went out for Chinese food. Could not eat much and ended up with a huge stomach ache.:nono:

On Sunday, still sick from the night before I ate only a hamburger late that night.

Today, I weighed, just to see how much damage I had done. To my surprise I maintained the 6 lb lose. I also started my 2nd cycle today . I am having a hard time drinking the water. that's why I think i have maintained for so many days. We'll see tomorrow.

Good going Azpeg.  You seem to be doing fine with this way of eating.  Great job maintaining over weekend.  That's a huge plus now everything you lose this cycle with be making new ground. :)
I find the first 3 days the hardest.  After that its pretty much smooth sailing.  Sure there are occasional urges to cheat, but I am less likely to do so after the first couple of days in a cycle.

Keep up the discipline and keep us posted.

:yum: :yum: :yum: :yum: :yum: :yum: :yum:

I started the IPD on Sunday, July 23, 2006.  I'm definitely a yo-yo dieter, and thought I had tried every diet known to man until I found the this one on a blogsite.  I was a successful, for a time, Weight Watcher (kept off 43 lbs. for 3 years) and then totally burned out.  Their point system, however, is so imbedded in my brain that I will forever count the "points" of everything I eat!

This has been a hard year in our household.  Hubby had open heart surgery in February, my Mother passed away in March, and how did I handle all this?? I ATE!!!  Nothing is more comforting than food, it makes me  feel better when nothing else will, but it's a false illusion, because it really isn't making ANYTHING better and I'm miserable because I'm eating the wrong things and gaining and eating and gaining some more, and can't seem to stop. Now all my size 14 pants are horribly tight, and I hate the fact that I even wear a size 14 in the first place!!! It's  time to pull myself up by the bootstraps and get on with life. Hubby is healthy now, and I had Mother for 56 years of my life and have lots of memories to sustain me.

I made feeble attempts at both South Beach and Atkins this spring, but my heart wasn't in it.  But this just might work for me! My theory is this - I hate dieting anyway, so I might as well buckle down, do this hardcore to the letter and see what happens.  I set my goal 20 lbs. - that's very conservative and an attainable  at this point. So far, so good eating this way, it isn't nearly as hard as I thought, it's no walk in the park, but it's doable and I'm not starving...

I have a horrid metabolism  and I think the way the diet mixes up the combination of proteins/carbs just might be the thing to jump start a body that rebels at dieting by going into the dreaded starvation/plateau mode on a regular basis.

So far, so good, and since I'm really verbal, I'll be sharing my journey with you.  I journal daily, it helps keep me accountable... so check back often and I'll let you know how it's going..

~ Jan

I'm a newbie, just downloaded the diet today, after reading everything I could find online about this diet.

I was able to access the old diet and generate menus from it by following the information from another thread on this site, which told me to go to http: //dietaccess.com/loginb.html and then click on the link to change my password.  Then I simply changed my username by just adding a 1 to the end of it, and left my password the same,  it worked perfectly -  it let me right in.

After studying them both, I prefer the old diet hands down.  The new one just wasn't giving me the choices the old one does, even though you input each ingredient.

Hey, the old way worked just fine for people on this board, and if I can have a hamburger, occasional pasta, bananas and melon, I know I will be MUCH happier.  None of these things are listed on the new diet plan, even though when you input milk the banana shake is listed, along with the recipe - can't quite figure that out, looks like the creators have a few bugs to work out with the new diet.

So it's the original diet for me.  I'm starting tomorrow or Monday, and actually excited about it. I wasn't too thrilled with the new plan, but this old one ROCKS.  I just hope they don't remove it from the site...

Hi there Used to MunchaBunch!  Great name by the way.  Welcome to the forum and to this way of eating.  We are happy to have you.
I agree with you about the versions.  I much prefer the old.  I have not tried the new but that is because nothing about it seemed more appealing than what I already had.
Good luck with your loses.  I am sure you will do well.

A couple of tips for you, if that's okay.
Adhere to the satisfaction rule.
Drink the recommended water.  Maybe and extra glass since its so hot lately.
Be creative so your meals don't feel so blah!!
Do the walking when possible, it helps.
You can have a bun with your hamburger and hot dog.
Ground Turkey can be your best friend, there are sooo many things you can do with it.
Stick to one type of egg choice per cycle.  They tend to come up alot.

Okay, I am sure I can go on and on but you will get into a groove of your own.

Good Luck with your loses.

Thanks so much for the suggestions, Jayelle.  I'm sure things will come up and I'll have more questions.  It's so nice to have found this board, since the original diet site offers no forums, recipes, etc....

I bought ground turkey today - i'm thinking maybe taco seasoning or low carb ketchup/brown sugar splenda/red onion flakes/a splash of vinegar or just onions and mustard sauteed with it....

I'm still a bit confused as to the veggies - if I eat chicken for dinner, can I have even a few green veggies with it, or a small salad, or is it strictly meat only???  And is it okay to saute a few veggies with the ground turkey?

The instructions say you can throw some veggies in with the turkey...

But can you change up the order of these meals like you can with the new diet?

Yes, you can change the order.  Today's menu for me was #1, cottage cheese, #2, tuna salad, #3 baked fish, and #4 - banana shake. It's now 8:30pm, I'm finishing my banana shake, and I'm satisfied.  Life is good! :yumm:

Day 1, down 2.5 lbs.  Yep, I know it's water, but it's certainly motivating.  You were all right, this diet is very doable. You eat so often, that even though you aren't really full, you know you will be eating again in 2.5 or 3 hours.

If I make up my mind to do something, I'm usually pretty motivated, so I'm looking forward to the next few weeks.  I'll update, if you get bored with my posts, just tell me. I'm not much into lurking, I'm a pretty vocal person and I always just jump right in there...

And WOWZA, that banana milkshake at 8pm last night just finished my day off right.  Not bad at all, sports fans, not bad at all....

Oh, one more thing, my great buy of the summer has been a Stainless Cuisinart Convection Toaster Oven. We live in a condo, my kitchen can get really warm with the oven on.  This toaster oven gets to temp in just TWO minutes.  And it bakes/broils/roasts perfectly.  AND my kitchen stays cool!  It's a wonderful thing.....  AND, I sniped it on ebay at the last minute (auctionsniper.com) for the amazing price of $123.00.  Brand new, not refurbished.  Retails for $260, the cheapest I found online was at Amazon for $169, so it was a heck of a deal...  Told you I was vocal...

Way to Go!!!  We don't mind you being vocal, but can I request that you stick to one thread instead of starting a new ones?  It will make it easier to follow your progress and that way other threads won't get lost.

I am happy to see that you are off to such a great start.  Why don't you design yourself a ticker.  It's been pretty motivating for me to see that little thing move closer to my goal.  Just a thought.

Have a great IPD day!

Advice taken, Jayelle ;)

One question, tho, if I post just to this thread will it surface to the top of the list when an entry is made or will it stay further down the pages, following the order of the first post to the thread?
