webfairy - thanks for the welcome. I'm planning to stick to it exactly and no subs, but my stomach kept growling at work even though i was eating fruit all day. i had a 2 hr presentation to sit thru and didn't want the embarrassment of everyone hearing my stomach. and considering they were serving food at the presentation, they would have thought i was nuts for declining food as my stomach growles. so i had the banana but i declined all the cookies and brownies and fruity drinks they served at the presentation. your weightloss success sounds amazing! thanks so much for the motivation!
hi kaysue - glad to see someone at the same stage as me! 2 pounds in 2 days is great! that motivates me.
susiemann - i know it only recommends walking but i exercised on and off before this and am generally pretty active. i live where it's warm and walk my dog in the morning and evening everyday anyway and it really wasn't doing much for me. the dvd i started doing is only 20 mins and i wore are hr monitor last time i did and burned 175 calories. i don't think that's too much. hopefully it will give me a boost.

bumblebee,
I am not against exercise of any kind. I was just going by what the diet stated. I do not understand their (FL4I authors) explanation, it goes against everything I have ever heard before about losing weight. Really the whole diet is strange and that is what the authors seem to say, "This might seem strange", but I was willing to try this strange diet and hope it works for me.
Walking used to be enough for me to lose weight without dieting but it no longer does so I am with you on things suddenly stop working for you anymore.

I wish they had an non-alcholic drink that I LOVED that I could drink. I did have crystal light to day soooo good. But don't really like to have it cause of the aspertane. Howerever you spell that. I wonder how many calories wine is or why it's aloud. Maybe because it's suppose to be healthy to have one a day?
We'll I guess that's one way I'm cheating is exercising to max cardio instead of walks. It's to cold for me and my little ones and it's been snowing everyday since i started.
Today was good but I felt almost how you guys feel on fruit day after my lunch quite bloaded. I don't know if you should eat than or not. For your metabolism? I did have 4 pieces of bacon and than I haven't had my snack What do I do? Eat a tiny bit just cause or not?
Making my son's lunches though the one wanted a bun which is homemade with peanut butter and jam which is my homemade fav jam. Wanted it soooo bad. Didn't. i can't believe how Ive been saying no. I mean on WW I was justifying myself, I just want to see how much wait I can lose.
I know you shouldn't weigh yourself but I asked my husband how much he thought I lost in 2 days he said .5 I was like 2 pounds. He couldn't believe it neither can I, I should stop talking about it I'm scared it won't keep up. I just can imagine being able to be at your goal weight in 4 or 5 months.

kaysue - a 6 oz glass of wine is 90 to 120 calories depending on the wine. i think the reason it's allowed is because it's basically grape juice and grapes are included in the diet. also it's healthy - 1 glass of red wine daily reduces your cholestorol and also has antioxidants. doctors often recommend this dosage to heart patients. of course i'm not recommending drinking, just dropping my 2 cents. good luck! Hi, I purchased FL4I and beyond calories on Friday. After reading both, I decided to go with the fastest loss, the beyond calories. I think I did pretty good on Saturday, for being out and about, well and cheating with the light beers, and alcohol. Sunday's hangover not so well I didn't get all 6 meals in. It says not to weigh yourself everyday, but I have, and Tuesday being day 4 out of 10. I'm down 3. Or close to it, my scale's not quite right.
I read the forums for about 3 days deciding whether or not to purchase this, checking online reviews, scam site reviews, all of the above. It's pretty simple to follow. fruits, veggies, proteins, then menu for all.
One thing that's buggin me on the BC is that there's not fruit servings everyday. I love my fruit, and personally think that I should eat it everyday... so struggling with that.
..and I guess I need to eat more vegetables on those meals, otherwise I'm unsatisfied, and eat again.
Oh I'm Rickie, wish me luck. hope I get off this plateau!

| Hi Rickie! Welcome to the forum! Let us know how your BC (Beyond Calories) cycle goes. Some people love BC and others love the DG (diet generator). BC is not necessarily the fastest weight loss. Some people have more success on the DG, others in the BC. But... it sounds like the BC might work better for you since you love eating fruit so much. Day 7 & 8 are the only days that do not have fruit for at least one meal. See how the cycle goes, and you can always switch and do a cycle of DG if you want to compare losses. Why don't you come here http://www.caloriesperhour.com/forums/forum3/214-446.html (to the general discussion forum) and meet the rest of the gang. We all post our ideas suggestions, experiences, gripes and support. They say a good support group is half the battle (at least) in diet success. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi, guys!
I'm new here also!!! First time doing the fl4i and today is my day #8 (the veggie one! )
So far, so good!! I'm so excited!!!
Starting weight: 219.8 lbs
Current weight (as of this morning): 215 lbs
I do have a question, if it's ok to ask here, what kind of turkey slices do you eat? I buy the one that comes already sliced, sold in the fridge isle, with ham, cheese, and all. Is that the right one? Or the right one is actually the ones you have to cook, like the chicken that is called on this diet?????
Thanks!!!!

Hi 4aSK,
Welcome aboard the the diet train You are doing GREAT!! Way to go! Come on over to the general discussion and introduce yourself. That is where we all talk and ask questions.
The deli type turkey slices in the packages with the sandwich meats and cheeses is fine. You can choose any style of turkey or ham etc. Also, if you desire, you can have it sliced at the deli case or cook your own...all are OK. You can choose any type of cheese as well...swiss, american, gouda, cheddar etc etc.

I lost 40 lbs 2 years ago with FL4I. Sadly I gained it all back. I am getting married in July and just ended my first cycle. I almost fit into my dress. I don't want this to happen again. I'll remember what I learned from this and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Febdoll, welcome! I think many of us can relate to what you said. After gaining some of the weight back that I lost in 2008, I am definitely one of them. After I shed the weight this time, I am definitely going to be extra cautious, myself. I look forward to hearing of your success! I hope to see yo in the general discussion forum!

| Hello mcrmev. Welcome to the forum! Yes, your goal is possible. But it is a personal thing, not sure exactly how much you will lose per cycle. I averaged 5 lbs. a cycle, some lose more, some lose less. The diet is awesome and the best one I have found for losing weight fast. Just stick to the cycle as strictly as possible and you will have the best results. Why don't you come over to the general discussion forum and meet the others and post there? Hope to see you there, and best wishes on meeting your goal!

Hi I am new to this forum but have been on FL4I for about 4 months. I have taken a month off but all up have lost 20kgs (44pounds) and still have another 20kgs to go. Just wondering if anyone has tried the vegetarian option? I am not a vegetarian but would like to try something different. Any feedback on this topic would be really appreciated. Thanks

Hello guys and girls,
I have been playing with the idea of trying FL4I.
Is this the "real deal"? And if yes is it the "latest"? I am kinda paranoid when it comes to scamming :)

| Misteroptimist - Yes, this is a real diet and it works if you follow it. You can surf the other threads to see how much weight others here have lost if you aren't sure. Feel free to drop by the general discussion forum if you are really interested in asking questions about this diet, but please refrain from posting links to other sites selling this diet. I removed the link. Thanks.

After reading through for hours since Tuesday, I am happy to say that I am finally HERE!!^^
You guys can just call me ikki! I'm Asian and no, I'm not Japanese (ignore my username lol). I'm 20 this year, 5 ft 4" and I weigh around 130 lbs. My goal is to lose 25 - 30 lbs! Please allow me to bore you guys a little with some backstory!
For most of my life so far, I have been slender. I have always hovered around 100 - 105 lbs which is my ideal weight. (I think maybe Asians just don't carry weight as well as most of you! Which is why we tend to have to be slimmer lol.)
Unfortunately, I managed to somehow put on 27 lbs in less than a year. For someone who never had to care about her body because of a fairly high metabolism, that is ASTOUNDING. In a bad way=(
I didn't really take notice of it, until I had a conversation with a friend one day. She is the skinny type (not just slender) and told me that she once put on 10kg within a month.
We discovered that we had identical habits. We both did stuff we never ever did in the past like binging like crazy (nutella by the jar, eating for no reason and torturing our stomachs etc) and hiding from others just to binge. I like food, but I never did that prior to 2010!
She told me that at that point of time, she was on some kind of pills to regulate her hormones. I drew the link, went back to research on the steroid cream which I had been applying daily since the time I started putting on weight and discovered that increases in appetite & weight were potential side effects.
I was devastated. Primarily because my condition was a pretty strange one and nothing else worked. Luckily for me, I have been coping with an alternative this past week. =]
I have decided to stop moping and take some control of my life. NO WAY am I going to get put down by some dumb cream. I can do this!
But...just a small request...could I perhaps have a diet buddy or something?>< My self-discipline is very low. In addition to that, such "dieting" stuff are generally frowned upon where I am. yet my friends love to laugh at me for being fat. I am afraid to go out with some of them now. =[
I'm on my third day of this diet actually, so far still okay, but I have a lot of stuff coming up. I might just have to shift my three cheat days to whenever it makes things easier. I've tried searching everywhere but I can't find much on people who have done this too. Except for a member here called Yohkos who managed for her first cycle. But I think I might not have as much to lose as some so...GOSH I wish I knew the EXACT science behind FL4I >(
If I succeed, I will tell you guys! Can I please have a buddy!><Last edited on 10 June 2011 05:36 pm by ikkiichiyuu

Hi ikki. WELCOME! Awww, you poor thing. It's so hard sometimes to get support from our family and firends, especially when they can't relate to what we are going through. That is why support forums are so helpful. So you have come to the right place. Why don't you come over to the general discussion forum and meet everyone there. You can EDIT this post and copy it then go to general discussiona and paste it in a new post, so you don't have to retype it all. Or you can just tell everyone your story is under new members and just say hi and ask if anyone is on the same cycle as you. Either way, you will get support here, so that is what's important. I am looking forward to hearing more from you. Hang in there!

Hello,
I'm a 43 yr old of 4. I just started FL4I and I am happy to report that I am 3lbs lighter as of this morning and that was after I ate my 1st meal of the day. I was kinda sketical about trying this diet but after trying to read as much as I could about it and also reading other members praise regarding it worked, I decided to give it a try. So here we go. I will report at the end of the cycle on my progress, but I am off to a good start.Last edited on 10 June 2011 11:18 pm by cutieslim67

Welcome Nubbins. If you are not trying to start a new thread, there could be other reasons. I have had the problem in the past posting and getting the "Invalid Request" page. After rebooting my router and then my computer, it cleared it up. It has happened two or three times in the past. It's always my work computer, not my home computer. Just thought I would mention it, in case it helps.

Hello everyone,
I have been reading through this blog for a couple of weeks now and thought I would introduce myself. I started FL4I last Monday so I am on day 8 now. Just finished my veggie only day. I must say that the advice and recipes on here are amazing and I thank you all for that. I have tons of questions though that I couldn't find answers for when reading through the recipes and general discussion boards so I apologize if I am repeating anything...
Firstly, I have been sticking pretty rigidly to what the menu says to eat. I think almost too rigid though I think. Like with the meat slices, I have been only eating sandwich meats which means the majority of my meals are cold. So is it ok to cook a ham or a turkey and eat slices off of that? Can I have a pork chop as long as I cut the fat off, or does it have to be ham due to the way it is cured? Might sound silly, but I need to know. Haha.Same with beef. Can I bake a steak and eat slices off of that for my roast beef?
I also wanted to share something I made tonight for my dinner. Courgette (zucchini) pizza.
Slice courgette up in to moderate slices and place in bottom of oven proof dish. Poor salsa over. Cut up any veggies and place on top. (I even used some baked butternut squash that I had cooked last night to take for my lunch today at work). Top with grated cheese of your liking. Place in 350F oven for about 25 mins. Delicious. Even my husband ate some!
Anyway, nice to meet you all! Please send some advice and insipational meessages my way.
p.s. Forgot to say, day 8 and 6 pounds down. Must be working.

Hello everyone! I hope that my weight loss experience combined with your experiences can be used to help us all meet our weight loss goals. As I joined this site, I poured myself a large glass of ice water.
I am starting a diet trick that has served me well in the past. Increased water intake and decreased soda intake improve your metabolism and can help you burn more fat. I have been drinking too much soda and not enough water which is why I am 30 pounds over weight.
This is day one. I am not going to be exercising any more than normal, just changing my fluid intake far awhile to see what happens. As a side note, My current exercise level consists of walking about a half mile a day. Not a lot, but something.

Welcome Bangersandmash and Jruggles! You would be better posting your questions on the general discussion board as that is where everyone 'hangs out' so you would get a speedier response where more members would see it.
In reply to your questions bangersandmash, Yes to all! As long as the fat is trimmed off before you cook you can have all those you suggested. Also, did you know that you can substitute meats for any other meat stated on the plan. For instance if your menu states beef, you can sub it for chicken or ham and vice versa. I would only have a lean pork chop as a sub for bacon though. Steak is fine in place of beef slices.. some also mince their lean beef or make a casserole if you have a beef/chicken and vegetables combo on the menu. And roasted chicken, turkey, beef etc is also fine... you don't have to have cold cuts. Read the diet tips and guidelines page for more foods you can substitute and great tips you get you started. By the way, congrats on your 6lb loss in 8 days!! That's brilliant progress.. you're off to a great start.. keep it up!
Jruggles... Yes, I also think sodas are not a good idea. Even the diet types as they have so much saccharin, which is not good for us, and just makes your body crave sugar. One of the rules for this diet is that you MUST drink all the water stated.. at least 8 X 8oz glasses a day... 10 glasses if you can. And I can tell you from experience that if you don't drink the water you will still lose weight but at a much slower pace.. Drinking all the water each day certainly does speed up weight loss as it prevents water retention and helps speed up digestion.
Walking is good and recommended for this diet... try to walk for at least 30-45 mins a day if you can.
I wish you both success on reaching your goals and hope to see you over in the general discussion thread.

Hello all!
I have tried fatloss4idiots before and it worked so well!
Hoewever, I didn't manage to keep the weight off, as I moved to carbs too quickly!
Tried other diets, but none has worked so well (apart from protein-only diet, which I cannot continue for long).
I need to lose ~15kgs (33lbs) and I hope I will do, as my body and my will are REALLY tiried of constant dieting!
I am not sure how this forum works, if people support each other on a daily basis, but anyone willing to do this, I would be so so happy, as I find support that can have such a motivation impact too.
Good luck everyone and hope to hear from you!
PS: Do I need to create my own topic as a diary??
Thanks

Welcome to the forum EvaXmas!!... You certainly have come to the right place for motivation and lots of support. They are a great bunch here and will do all we can to help keep you on track . Fl4i is a fantastic plan and your goal of 33lbs is certainly possible... I lost 40lbs in 3 months and a total of 60lbs in just 5 1/2 months!
You need to come on over to the general discussion thread where we all 'hang out' as that is where you will get the most help and support from the forum.
New members and blocked from opening new topics but you can start your own diary in the FL4I Cycle Weight Loss Records thread.
Good luck with your first cycle.. keep us posted.. Hope to see you soon in the general discussion thread.. here's the link: http://www.caloriesperhour.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=214&forum_id=3&jump_to=182276#p182276.

Hi Lorriane
Thanks for the welcoming and well done on your weight loss, you have done so so well and in so short time! Are you still dieting or just maintaining?
I definitely need the support and happy to encourage others too, so hopefully I will see you all in that discussion board. (The link didn't seem to work, but I will try to find it and let you know if I have any problems.)
