@ Cuddles:
This diet is so easy... the challenging part for me is during day 2 of FL4I which is all fruit day. I keep on getting hungry just an hour after eating. But the veggie day which is day 8 was much better than fruit day!
The first day I tried drinking at least 2 liters. It was a bit challenging. But the next days are easier. Now at day 11, consuming 3 liters from 9-6 (office hours) is a breeze. Guess the body easily keeps up with proper hydration. And it feels great as well.
As I've written earlier, this diet is the easiest as well as effective among all the diets I have tried before. It seems I'm eating all the time - every 3 hours - and I'm losing weight as a side effect! How neat is that!
I'm planning to do BC starting Sunday, Oct. 18. Just to compare which one (DG or BC) works better.
I weigh myself same time everyday. So tomorrow, I'll weigh again before I start my 3 cheat days. Hopefully I can see a bigger loss than 4 lbs, but even if not, I'm still happy with that.
So much for my ranting Will keep you all posted.
Good luck everyone and thanks again for the warm welcome and the support that this group offers!

fat2fit: I normally drink a lot of water, or so i thought! But its different when you HAVE to drink 2L and when you choose to drink 2L. I try but some days it's just 1.5L. So good on you 3L!! wow 5 stars for you
I'm with you on eating every 3 hours and losing weight...how cool is that?
I've read from others in this forum NOT to weigh daily, reason being that it may (or may not) demotivate you. I try not to weigh myself throughout the 10 days but couldn't hold the suspense the last cycle so i weighed myself on Day 8, but the loss was 4lb which remained the same on Day 10. It's up to you, but i believe in the diet so i'm CERTAIN there will be losses, it's just a matter of how much.
I think i'll start another cycle of BC sometime 19th Oct or so, so we'll be in this together.
We'll keep each other posted alright?

Hi everyone. Just thought I would drop a post and introduce myself. I am just starting the Beyond Calories (I decided to try this first instead of FL4I). I would like to know what dieters think of the BC...does it really work quickly if the plan is followed correctly?...Do you feel the results before they show up on the scale?...How much water am I supposed to be drinking on this?...I read that no condiments are allowed, I guess that means I can't use butter to cook with either huh? Are you guys feeling deprived on the BC plan?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks so much!

Kats - Welcome!! Sorry I had not responded sooner, but I haven't done BC, only the DG, so was hoping someone else would answer this post. I love the DG, personally, and never felt deprived with the 4 meals. Since you get to eat 6 meals on the BC I don't believe you would feel deprived. You just have to keep your portions smaller than you would normally eat, since you are eating more often. I know some of our members, like Omayra and Zeva, have done the BC a lot, so I will let one of them go into more details about this. But it DOES work, when followed correctly, just like the DG version. And I beleive you still have to drink 80 oz. of water, just like the DG. The water factor is really important, as you can lose weight just from that alone.

| Hi Debbie and welcome! I wouldn't make a salad since it is really not ok to add the greens. You could add some tomatoes and onion, though. Once in a while we might add a leaf of lettuce to make a wrap, but that really is stretching it, as it is not listed as allowed condiments. The only reason many of us add a little tomato and onion, is that salsa is allowed, so salsa is made up of those ingredients. Sorry about that. You could do some salsa chicken. Or just grilled chicken or something like that. Maybe try a search on peaches and chicken or peaches and ham and see if you can find a recipe that combines them. Then you can alter it to cook it as it is allowed on the diet. Also, if you come to the general discussion area of the FL4I forum, you can meet the others and get some different ideas when you have meal questions. Hope to see you there!

| Debbie - If you are doing the DG (diet generator), then yes, eat every 3 - 4 hours, and I wouldn't wait any longer than 4 hours between the 4 meals. But if you are doing the BC (Beyond Calories) version, then there is no way you could fit 6 meals by eating every every 3-4 hours. It would have to be every couple or so hours.

Hi, fellow FL4I dieters. I'm new to the forum and new to the diet...this is day six.
I'm very happy so far...5 pounds lost and no food cravings. I'm greatly relieved to be off the SUGAR merry-go-round that I was living on, to the point of having many meals of nothing but combinations of dessert foods.
The inflammation in my joints that had begun to plague me is already completely gone!
I do have a handful of specific questions about the diet that have cropped up over these six days. I have not yet perused the forum to see if any of these have already been addressed. Does anyone know if there's a space here where I can just deposit all my questions and see what answers might come my way?
Thanks, ElBop

Welcome..Elbop...come on over to the general discussion and ask your questions there. This is where we all talk. It is quiet on the weekends but come Monday, everyone will be back online and ready to help you out!
Isn't it great to be off that vicious sugar cycle...the ups and downs and feeling off! Good for you! This way of eating is healthy and you will feel and look great!

Hello there! I am totally new to WL4I and so glad to have found this forum.
I'm 5'5" and used to be 115lbs pre-pregnancy but after 2 kids, I'm now at 150lbs.
I'm targetting to go back to 120lbs and so I have this huge 30lbs goal! Hoping I get to lose it in 2-3 months with this diet.
Appreciate any advice you guys can give. Thank you in advance!
Cheers!

New to this forum and the plan, this is my second day of my first cycle. Seems to be going well so far , although I already screwed up and accidentally ate some cantaloupe at lunch - hopefully that won't screw things up too much!
I find this plan very easy to follow and look forward to my weigh in at the end of this first cycle!

Hi Ashes! Welcome to the forum. You may want to come over to the FL4I General Discussion thread and introduce yourself so you can meet everyone. I wouldn't worry so much about the cantalope. I have done that before and still lost. Just try to stick to allowed foods while you do your first few cycles so you have something to compare substitutions to. Are you doing the DG or BC? How much do you want to lose? Hope to see you in General Discussion!

Hi All,
I am new to this diet and the forum. I have never tried any diet before. I am recovering from Rheumatoid Arthritis and Ankylosing Spyndalitis (type of arthritis). I have gained 40 lbs over the last year while i was taking drugs for these conditions. I have never tried any diet before but i have been looking up diets for the last week or so and found this FL4I that have good reviews. Finding this forum and reading people's stories has given this diet some credibility, so i have decided to give it a shot.
I need to lose 30 lbs in the 3 months right away for something this summer, do you guys think this is possible and a realistic target?
I also wanted to find out if there are other members who are on this diet with above or somewhat similiar conditions and how it has worked out for them.
I will highly appreciate your input.
Thanks a lot to everyone who has setup and are volunteering their time for this good cause!

Hi Dude (can I call you dude for short?) Welcome. I would like to suggest you introduce yourself in the General Discussion thread so others can meet you. That is a much more active thread and you will have more potential responses to your questions there. I don't have your specific conditions, but I do have osteoarthritis in my knees and when I was overweight, it was sooooo painful! After losing 47 lbs. on this diet, it is amazing how the pain is gone and I rarely even know I have that condition anymore. I think you will find this is a fairly easy diet to follow, barring some weird combos, you don't really feel so much like you are on a diet. I think your goal is possible, but everyone loses at different rates. When I started the diet in 2008 it only took me 4.5 months to lose all that weight. That is my story. Best wishes and please keep us up to date on your progress, and hope to see you over in general discussion!

Hello
I'm new to the forum and in day 4 of the 11 day Diet plan.
I tried the diet in 2007 and lost some weight but I can't remember how much, 6 or 7 lb's I think.
I thought I'd give it another go now since I've put on about 8lb's since Christmas which I now want to lose before my holiday in late May.
I have some questions: firstly water. 8 glasses a day is a lot, but I wonder if tea counts towards it? I drink quite a lot of tea but I have it very weak (mostly hot water and little bit of tea) with no milk so can this count as water? Also can a glass of diet coke count towards my water intake?
Second I make myself hunters chicken last night (chicken, bbq sauce and cheese) but now I feel guilty about the bbq sauce! I know it's an allowed condiment but it felt like cheating. Does anyone have any other chicken and cheese suggestions what aren't cheating?
Tinned fruit, is it ok? I made myself a fruit salad for breakfast and added some tinned pineapple, is this ok, it was in juice not syrup?
Lastly how do you know how much to eat? It's very hard to say this amount of prawns is a meal size when normally you wouldn't just eat a plate full of prawns! Out of the last 3 days I'm pretty sure I've over eaten on all days, feeling slightly full (not stuffed) at all evening meals so I need some help with portions.
Oh, one more: dinner tonight; prawns & nuts or ham & milk??? Which should I choice and any recipe ideas to liven the up??

Hi
I am new to this forum (or any forum) for that matter, and I new to this diet. Like lots of others, I've pretty much been up and down for most of my life. I am 37, married with two kids. The last time I lost 35 lbs. for my sisters wedding and in the last year and half have put most of it back on. I'm just looking to get back down, stay focused and motivated and I'm confident that this is the right place to start!!!

Hi Honeydewgirl! Welcome. I hope you have found the place that will get you to your goal. It got me to mine! I love this diet. It worked for me and many others. It is easy and only 11 days at a time. I wasn't hungry, like some diets (except fruit day, but that is only 3 meals one of the days, as the last meal you get a wonderful deli sandwich which makes you forget all about being hungry from the fruit meals...hehehe). And the food choices are great (IMO). Please come to the general discussion thread so you can meet the others. And let us know if we can help. Best wishes for much success!

which program should I get? Just the diet generator and diet handbook or should I add on the Beyond Calories if I just want to loose 10 lbs?
Do I really need the add on or is it something great to just have?

nevermind...I just read a few posts about it and it doesn't seem to be much of a difference. I think I'll just try the regular diet generator and see what happens! woohoo! I love new programs! Hopefully this will work! I'm going to start it this weekend because my fiance will be gone on business for the entire next week, which means it'll be A LOT easier to stick with the plan without his "need for sweets" around! haha.
yay! I'm excited

Ok so this thing says to eat until satisfied but not "full" ....How can you even possibly get FULL by eating cashews and milk as a meal??? I don't even see how you could get satisfied by having that as a meal. What a Weeeiiirrdd meal lol.
Shrug...guess it must do something otherwise the diet wouldn't be so popular! haha.
Do you actually have to time out your meals as exactly every 2.5 hours apart? Or can you just estimate or base it on when you're hungry again?

SitOri - I would eat the milk and nuts for a "snack" meal. My 3rd meal of the day is usually a smaller one so I would eat those at that time. Remember, if you get weird combos, you can always hit the BACK button and regenerate another menu until you find one that has combinations you can work with. You should space your meals out AT LEAST 2 1/2 hours apart. I don't like to go longer than 4 hours between meals. Make sure to drink all the water as that does help to keep you from being hungry in between meals. You should only eat until SATISFIED... where you are not full, and could still eat a little more, but are not hungry. You will be able to tell as you start the diet.

Hi! I'm new to this diet, it's day six, and going good. I bought it in Croatia and it didn't generate the foods I asked for, (they told me they were fixing it, some bug problem), so, I'm eating some stuff I am not a big fan off (beef), and it generated only 14 different foods, so, I'm eating the same things all the time it seems (or maybe it is like that no matter how many you choose?); however - I'll survive and succeed!
I'm feeling good, and hope there isn't any possibility of drinking too much water, cos I'm drinking all the time, maybe cos I'm not used to eating so much meet daily. I'm also having some trouble finding pastrami, maybe we don't even have it here - so I eat my favorite (NOT) instead - beef.
So, due to the fact it's not my food choice, I'm very proud of my self and can't wait for the results! (and cheat days to have some chocolate).

Hi ZZ and welcome! The website is in the same place all of us obtain our menus from, as far as I know. Have you tried it lately? It is awful to be eating things you don't like (like beef). I am not much of a beef fan myself, and would not last if that is all I could eat. Maybe one of us could help you figure something out. Also, meet us over in the general discussion forum where everyone "hangs out" to discuss. Se you over there and best of luck to you! Ask questions if you need to and we will do our best to help.

newbie here... thinking about starting on Monday but my only drawback is Mothers day coming up. We usually have a large cookout with lots of food. I am trying to lose between 20 - 25 lbs that I cannot seem to budge at the moment. I'm 5'7 and 160lbs. I have a bahamas trip planned in June and have about 4 diet sessions to work on this in. Ever since the baby in 2006, I just can't seem to get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight.

Hi all on my 3rd day. Fruit day yesterday was brutal but survived it.
I am 52 5'7" started at 183.5 and this morning was 179.5. That is only after 2 full days. Want to get to 160, 150 would probably be too small for me at 160 I am a size 10 and I think as you get older it is better to be thin rather than skinny.

Hi this is my first day on the dg. So far I am happy with the way I feel and am anxious to do the fruit daytommaroe. My fruit day doesn't call for a sandwich though, is this new? Also I noticed bananas were not on the choices. That could be chalanging. Nothing to realy FILL up on. How did most people do?
I thought I could drink some tomatoe juice and make smoothies with water but no babanas huh? Any advice before I get there would be great!
Looking forward to my cottage cheese, tuna plate and oatmeal for supper.
Also is it true you can eat as much cottage cheese as you want? I love the stuff!

Hi 50ptl! Welcome to our fun group! Please come over to the FL4I general discussion and meet everyone....that is where we talk and ask questions and get great tips!
You have to check the "deli sandwich" on your menu choices in order for it to show up on fruit day. Since you forgot to check it this time....just sub a deli meat sandwich on two slices of bread for one of your fruit meals.
Bananas are in your "smoothie" or your "fruit salad" choices on regular days...
BUT NOT on fruit day. Try baked apples with cinnamon....it is warm and filling. I make myself a fruit salad out of the allowed fruits. I usually eat a big crisp apple sliced into pieces. For lunch I have warm tomato soup(no milk). Fruit day you will not be full...but it is a great day to cleanse your body and speed up your losses. Drinking tea or coffee between meals helps too.
See you on the discussion thread...maybe others will have more ideas for you!

Gbella...Welcome! Each person loses at their own rate because each of us is unique. Read the success story thread. This is the fastest I have ever lost and I am a fairly slow loser. This plan is easy to follow, cuts cravings and burns fat. Be sure to measure yourself as sometimes you drop inches faster than even the scale shows. Also choose a snug top and bottom and try it on after each cycle to watch it become loose.
Please come over to the FL4I General Discussion and introduce yourself. This is where we all talk.

Hey y'all! I am beginning this diet tomorrow. I'm super excited but nervous since the diet seems pretty strict and limited. Any tips for a successful first week is greatly appreciated! I am a mother of four and have had 3 kids in the last four years. Prior to having babies, I weighed 115 and never had issues with weight. Now I weigh 150lbs and would like to get down to 130. I think this is a reasonable goal. The quicker I can get this off the better. I'm excited to find this forum and get plenty of advice and support along the way! Hi GBella,
Sounds like we are starting at about the same place (I'm 4'-11.5" and I weighed in on day 2 of my first cycle at 189). I'm shooting for a size, more than a weight. 10, I'm hoping for a solid 10 (not 12).
Good luck to you!

Hello!
I'm MadMax and starting this plan tomorrow. :)
I've got 25lbs to lose and have tried every diet in the world! hahaha ... I know I was not ready to lose weight or every diet I tried would have worked. ;) But I'm got a new purpose now to do it so here I go. I posted in the Buddies Needed area that I'd like to have a buddy so if anyone has got 25 to lose and would like to be my buddy please let me know. :)

Greetings Everyone!
My name is Violet! A couple of days ago while surfing the net I came across FL4I. And searching a little more, that's when I found these forums. Most of the success stories have totally inspired me to try this diet. Although I will admit that I am still a little hesitant as I have attempted countless weight loss methods with little or no succes. I am 26 years old single Latina. And I have never ever been as obese as I am today. I have gained about 100 lbs since my high school graduation. That's been about 9 years ago. I am desperate to loose weight!
Next April (2011) I will be graduating from the University. I so very much would LOVE to fit into a nice dress and if at all possible loose those 100 lbs plus some more that I have gained these past 9 years. I want to re gain my health and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. So with that said, I look forward in acquirinig new friends/supporters while on FL4I.
Oh one more thing, would a few of you mind sharing some samples of what the menus are composed of during the 11 day cycle? I know that this diet consists of eating about 4 times a day but I don't know what these 4 meals consist of. Please welcome me and share this information with me. I would appreciate it tremendously.
Thanks
Violet

Hi all. New to the program, my husband and I started last Monday. Have had great success the first week. I am following the diet absolutely to the letter as I'm a firm believer that you can lose weight with ANY diet if you follow the rules. The problem comes when you start sliding, making adjustments, cheating, etc. If it's a sustainable program then you will likely be able to keep it off. I really like that I can take it 11 days at a time (I am on DG). I have been very successful with Weight Watchers in the past but found it too flexible this time. I am too likely to bend the rules so it just doesn't work. This program is vastly different than any I have ever tried and I have been forced to really pay attention.
With WW my goal was to find the food that I could eat the most of for the least points. It was all about bulk and less about satisfaction. Now I am taking the opposite approach. I started by creating my menu quantities based on what I would have eaten before the diet and cutting it in half. I put the food in a container and that is all I would take to work. I take teensy tiny bites and chew each at least 15 to 20 times. Not only does this slow me down and allow my brain to catch up with my stomach to tell me that I am physically satisfied, I am finding myself really relishing the flavors and textures of the foods. I have found that mental satisfaction that has been eluding me for years. I find myself not needing the "1/2 sized" portions that I thought I would eat.
Thanks for this forum, I wasn't sure about purchasing this diet until I found the forum and saw all of the happy people who have experienced success. I have 45-50 to lose and a whole closet full of the cutest clothes to regain.
