Thanks, but the food selections have been the same since the first week.  Do you get a different choice of foods (or a slightly different choice of foods) every two weeks or is it the same food choices?

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum, and new to this diet. I am hoping for some really good results. I just purchased the diet plan yesterday and have started today....starting weight is 149.9 @ 5'4" tall  .... I am hoping I can stick with this diet, it seems a bit strange from anything I have ever tried before....I like that there is no calorie restrictions on this diet, and pretty much just eat until you are satisfied ..... I am trying to figure out exactly when that is with me LOL, because I am one of those people that will just keep stuffing it in as fast as I can, then all of a sudden I am like :nono:. So today I am really paying attention to this, but it just seems like I wont be eating enough to when I am simply satisfied, as for breaky I had 2 boiled eggs, which was perfect, then for lunch I had 1 slice of deli ham and about 1/4 cup of cottage cheese and just ate really slow and that was all I needed to feel good  I just hope eating like that small, wont put my body into starvation mode.

Ok well I wish everyone luck,

az

Hello all!

This is my first day on the diet and I am so excited about it!  I have 2 children, ages 2.5 and 6 months.  After #2 (born Dec. 14th) I pigged out at Christmas and wound up gaining 10lbs!!

My first goal is to get down to my pre-preggo weight (150, need to lose 22) and after that, maybe lose 5-10 more.

Today has not been bad...I've been reading posts about the fruit day (tomorrow) and I'm anxious to see how it goes for me.  My husband is trying this with me, and my mom is doing it too!

Good luck to everyone and I look forward to chatting with you and sharing stories of our success

Welcome Can'twait...and family!....introduce yourself on the discussion forum also!  How nice that you have support on this at home...it will be easier!   Be sure you all take measurements before you get going....this is a FAT LOSS diet and you will lose inches...sometimes even faster than pounds...so it is very encouraging to measure!  Also try on something...like pants...that are very tight now and try them on each cycle to see the difference!

Hi I'm a newbie somewhat.  I did this diet three years ago, had a different name, different foods and we had a forum that was pretty cool.  Why am I back? I had a beautiful baby through a very risky pregnancy that caused me to gain 30lbs while on four months of bed rest (my baby's website - sites.bundleofjoys.com/cally/ )

The first 11 days of the diet I lost 8lbs and the second time around I lost nothing.  Not sure why...and I'm trying again out of despiration.

My hubby is crazy about my 208lb bod but I'm NOT.  I need to lose roughly 40lbs.  It seems like a dream that is too far away.

Pictured is me when I did the diet three years ago, on my second date with my hubby who I married...our two year anniversary is tomorrow.  I really would love to have the energy I need with our little daughter, and I want to fit in my clothes again.

I need encouragement! That's why I'm here.  I hope it works...even if I lose only 8lbs it's still worth the fourty bucks!

Kara

PS: question - Can I do tilapia instead of flounder?

Welcome back sweetie!! Congrats on your marriage and baby. I too am returning after a 2 year absence and have about 40 lbs. to lose.

Please don't get discouraged if you go through a cycle with no weight loss. Sometimes you will lose inches and not weight. I try on a pair of pants that don't fit at the beginning of the cycle and try them on again at the end. Almost assuredly, they will fit better at the end.

Don't forget the water - water, water, water. It makes a HUGE difference.

GOOD LUCK and keep us posted on your progress - I'll do the same.

Hey everybody!

I'm new to the diet, just bought it recently...but haven't had the guts to try it out yet  I guess I'm afraid of it not working.  I am very small framed, I am 5'5" and presently weigh 126lbs (9 stone).  I need to lose 14lbs (a stone) to get to where I want to be...  My normal weight is 112lbs but after being on vacation and eating a LOT of junk food, I gained some weight.  Now none of my clothes fit !!  :crying:  It's horrible!  So I'm going to try this out in hopes that I can lose it in 2 cycles.  Really REALLY hope it works!!  I'm quite scared to be honest :dizzy: LOL.

If anyone wants to be buddies let me know   Good luck to all of you on your weight loss journey!

I feel your pain!!

I guarantee you that FL4I is the best diet that I've tried, thus far.  I had to stand up in a wedding on 4/19/08.  I started the diet on 2/28/08 and lost 30 lbs.  Unfortunately, after the wedding, I didn't stick with it very well and gained some of the weight back now my clothes are getting tighter.

Just recently I did the Beyond Calories diet and dropped 5 lbs.  Not quite what I expected, but 5 lbs was much better than gaining.

Because you're relatively small framed with little to lose, it may take a little longer to drop the additional weight.  However, rest assure that you'll likely lose weight fast and safer using this diet that many others.

Be sure to drop in on the "FL4I - General Discussion" forum.  That are many very helpful people that will help motivate you.

I just want to say congratulations!

A little advice though...

Be sure to not only use the scale as your sole measurement tool, but also consider using a measuring tape.

Many people on the diet not only lose weight, but also inches.

In addition, you might find that you'll pick up 3 lbs throughout the diet due to water retention.  Don't let this alarm you.  We usually suggest that people stay off the scale during the 11-day cycle for this reason.

I hope you continue with the successful weight loss.

Just saying "Hi"

I have been using the plan off and on for 2 years.
This plan works when I finish my 11 days; I am always 9lbs lighter.
I have put weight on due to surgeries and now have 25lbs to loose.
I can't wait to fit into my skinny clothes again:wink:

I weighed myself the very next day and gained 1lb back, so let's just say I'm too afraid to weigh myself again! I'm going by how my clothes are fitting.  I know if it says I gained it all back, I'll get discouraged.  Only two more days left of this cycle...I really can't wait for my cheat days.

I am so glad I found this site......what a great way to pass around ideas, encouragement etc.  My husband and I just started this diet on Tuesday, so we are on day 4!  The hardest day for me was the fruit day.....I was starving!!!  Anyway, I know the all vegetable day will be rough for me and as I was checking out some of the posts I noticed a mention of making soup on this day.  Can anyone give me a receipe for that?  We have been very strict thus far with ourselves so I don't want to stray from the generated diet but the thought of eating salad all day is a bit daunting to say the least!  Thanks for any advice you can give me!!!

Slimjim:  Just want to say congratulations on your 6 lb loss in "3 days".

Rushboldm:  Actually, I think everyone find "fruit day" a little more challenging.  The good thing about "veggie day" is that you can be very creative cooking vegetable soups (using the veggie ingredients allowed for the day) or veggie casseroles.  My favorite is zuchinni/squash with a little parmesean cheese.  Good luck to you and your husband.

Good luck to you both.

Hi everyone ;] my name is Lisa, I'm 16 and I'm trying to lose about 25 pounds.  I'm 5'1 and weigh 135 and a lot of people seem to think that 135 pounds is not overweight but I actually am for my height.  Regardless, I just don't have a nice body!  So I want to lose at least 25 pounsd or whatever it takes for me to be happy with how my body looks.  I did this diet last summer and managed to lose 15 pounds but then I kind of ate too much after it and I regret that so a big goal of mine is to learn how to manage food even after the diet and live a healthier life style for the rest of my life.  My biggest problem is soda.. until recently I used to drink at least 5 glasses of pepsi a day.  So, I understand why I'm overweight and I look forward to losing it and avoiding soda.

Hi LMK...welcome back!  Yes, soda is one of the worst offenders as far as fat gain...it has highfructose corn syrup which the body does not process well and is stored in fat cells.  Also sugar can make you want to eat more!! I've found that I have to just stay away from it completely...I used to love Coke ...now that I am drinking alot of water...soda tastes too sweet for me!! I hope you are able to break the habit....I know how hard it can be!  Be sure to drink lots of water:glass_water::bottle_water: as it really does help!!

Thanks so much =] I know it's going to be a challenge.  I think what I'm the most concerned about is the fourth of july... it's going to be hard not to cheat then.  I was hoping that the fourth of july would land on my 12th day so I could eat what I'd like but it lands exactly on my 11th and last day..

Hello just a quick note that I have started today on the FL4I, I am pretty excited about it I think...yet I know that this diet is about making changes and certainly better choices.  Rethinking the way you eat.  Look forward to reading the posts.

Welcome Jessa and 40lbgone. Don't forget to pop into the general forum for tips, advise or just to know that we are all human.

Jessa best tip is (at least for the first cycle) stick to the plan as much as possible. Prepare your food the day before and make sure you enjoy your "choice" days.  Oh and drink water : )

40lbgone I hear ya! I have learnt alot about my relationship with food and also what foods don't agree with me (bread who knew:shock:).

Cheers

Hi

I am on my 5th cycle of the Beyond Calories. I have lost 22 lbs so far. Eating 6 meals a day has been very helpful for me because I don't feel hungry all the time. I am so grateful I found this and decided to purchase it along with the Diet Generator. I tried the Diet Generator for a couple of days and I felt light headed and so went back to the BC. I think BC has really given me a way to loose weight.

I realized and am realizing a few things through my journey....

1) my weight did not come on over night so therefore it will not go away over night. 2) I need to ride my bike or walk a little each day along with BC ( Not strenuously, but lightly) 3) I need to make it a life change not just a quick fix. 4) On my one to two days off, I need to be careful to not stuff myself so I don't put back on the 4-7 lbs I just lost on my 10 day cycle! 5) Be accountable to others so that I can stick with it! 6) Make up my mind that I will stick with it to the end, even when I get bored, tired, or just plain wanting chocolate!

I am sure there will be much more to learn as I continue on my BC journey.

I purchased the new plan last year...is there anyway for me to have access to the old menu? Jayelle you had mentioned that "Juanita" had written up some instructions but I couldn't find it thru the link she left....is this even possible?? Anyway, just wonderin' if anyone on the new plan has figured out a way to access the old menus.

Hello everyone:grin:!

Well Im new obviously, but I havent purchased the FL4I! Actually ive got the spanish version (Im from peru ^^), but since this is the only forum I have found about this ''diet'' I signed up looking forward to some kind of support! and also to have some answers to my questions!

I guess ull be able to understand me since i can understand you, but I hope in both versions the food is the same!

Well, i want to lose 5 kg! (If im not wrong, thats exactly 11 lbs!) So it seems this diet is the right one for me huh? hehe well, you might say thats nothing compared to others that have to lose 50 or 100 lbs.. but ive been struggling with my weight since i was a teen! (Last year: 5f. /150lbs) and i managed to lose almost 30 lbs! I went to a nutritional center (CRUEL DIETS), tried being an anorexic..it was fine, until i realized i got stuck in 132 lbs..then i tried the SouthBeach! but it was too long for me to accomplish and when i was in the 3rd week i almost gained all the weight! i tried Forever products..but i was cutting my calories too much..then i heard about Calorie shifting..and now Im here! :D even though ppl have told me that now Im OK.. (I DO still feel im very chubby specially in my arms and legs :( ) I feel i have to reach my GOAL!

Today is my first day. So im supposed to be 110 lbs by Friday 25!!!! I hope this can work *__*

But I have some questions also..

How the generator works?? Its supposed to create a personal pattern of menus every 2 weeks?? Or you can create as many as you please and select just one? Or it means it has an special order?? :S

Also..in my 1st generated menu they told me to have Macadamia Nuts.. but its impossible for me to find some..I dont know how is in your version, but can I replace it with peanuts??

Well I gotta go! I hope I can reach my goal! :)

Hello everyone! I have been reading through all the comments, and have been inspired to try the fl4i diet. I have tried just about every diet, and lost weight, but have always gained it back.....I'd like to lose at least 40 lbs:smile:....hopefully I will get some encouragement here! I'm on my 6th day, so halfway through the first round. I've only lost 2ish lbs......I feel a bit discouraged, it's nowhere near 9 lbs.....we'll see.....Thank's ahead of time!!!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Val and I am currently on day 6 of cycly one. I would like to loose about 15-20# I am in my mid 50's and the older you get the harder it comes off, so hoping this plan will work for me. I am also hoping this forum is more active than the last one I found. Also I see alot of food choices being used that aren't on the allowed list for instance are you sub ground turkey for turkey slices, HB for roast beef, pork for sausage etc?

Hi Val!

Im kinda new too, but what Ive learned is that everyone here subs with the most similar food, as long as its from the same category obviously...For example i sub sausage links with chicken sausage..at least where I live they look and theyre known to be different, but i guess its Ok..It depends!

Perhaps you coul share your doubts in ''GENERAL DISCUSSION'' ppl there is very nice :D and may guide you to sub any food you cant find or have!

God bless!

i would like to introduce myself...i posted earlier in other threads, and nobody responded..i was looking for some support, maybe i can get it here..i am 31 year old female with a 2 year old daughter..married and living in nj..i am also a stay at home mom..

i am on day 7 today....was fine until yesterday...did not go crazy, but ate some things not on the vegetarian dg...like trail mix and atkins bar..i feel hungry...today was not a good day until just now..(that is why i decided to sit and write)...just ate a few things, that i should not have...i felt very hungry, so i rampaged the fridge..

anyways, i have 20-30 lbs to lose,  i would like to before dec 08...i go to the gym, walk with the toddler in the stroller, take her swimming regularly...this past week, i could not make it to the gym, but i really plan on getting back on track with that tomorrow morning..

i feel if i go to the gym, i will feel better about staying on track with this diet also...i really am not liking the veg version..i had to do it since a few days this week i had to eat vegetarian for religious purposes..i don't know, i feel i can get more creative with my shrimp and chicken, and tuna selections than i can with eggs and nuts and cottage cheese..

hope to hear from some of you...

Hi Desi,

It's nice to see a new name.....we all gather in the general discussion forum, and it is a lot of fun. I am on my second cycle, and seem to be doing pretty good so far. My first go around, I only lost 2 # and was getting discouraged. I am on day 5, and I think I've lost about 3 #...big diff!!! I am not on the veggie plan, so you may get some great ideas in the other forum. I have gotten great support....courage to not raid my fridge. I have 2 kids myself. They are 6 and 7. So I totally have my hands full, and I know how you feel. Just get right back on track, and keep plugging on! You will be at your goal before you know it!!! Best of luck!!

Heya all. I'm thinking about starting the FL4I diet. I'm 6'7", 22 years old, and 250ish pounds. I've only recently started to try losing weight, mostly by exercising, cutting out fast food, and adding a few healthy things to my diet. I was wondering how the FL4I diet would affect my drinking of apple cider vinegar and adding a spoon-full of ground flaxseed to breakfast and dinner. I would like to keep consuming these every day, but was mainly concerned about how they would affect the fruit and veggie days, or any other day, for that matter. Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Rendar,

You shouldn't have a problem with the ACV or flax. I added ground flax to my fruit smoothie on fruit day & I actually think it helped keep my hunger at bay. If we can have Oil & Vinegar dressing  why not just plain vinegar? I have gotten away from taking vinegar daily but I'm going to get back on track with it. Let us know when you start FL4I.

Welcome & Good Luck

Hello All,

My name is Angelina and I am very excited to start this diet. I gained 30lbs. during my pregnancy and have lost 20 so far, but I still need 10 more to go in order to get back to my pre-baby weight. Though of course I would like to lose 20lbs. I am 5' 1" and 135lbs. I am very skeptical about this, but figured I'd spend the $40 bucks on this instead of buying an outfit that I'll end up taking home and then realizing that I feel to fat to even ever wear it. Hope this works!

Hi Angelina!

Welcome to the forums!

I wonder how much time did you deal with those 30 lbs! And how did u get rid of them!

10 lbs are not so much! Ull definitely lose them if you stick to the plan :)

Its a fact that the closer you are to your ideal weight, the harder to get there :O

Congrats on investing the 40 bucks! Because after a couple of weeks, youll be sure you didnt waste them!

Thanks xiomigirl!

Well, the first 20lbs. just sorta melted off after I had the baby. I couldn't work out right away since I had a c-section so I couldn't say that I actually put much effort into losing those 20. As for the next 20 that I want to lose, well it's been kinda tough and the lbs. aren't coming off anymore that's why I decided to try this. How long have you been doing the fat loss 4 idiots diet, if you are?

I really hope this works. I am going to Vegas in october for a bachlorette party and I want to feel and look asgood as all the other "thin" girls that are going do.

Thanks again,

Angelina

Just wanted to post to the site for the first time. I finished my first cycle and lost 6 pounds. I had my three cheat days and have tried not to go crazy. I don't think I have gained back more than one pound. I love the diet. Seems to be one of the easiest I have ever been on. I don't think I was hungry one day during the first cycle. I've been reading all the great posts and really appreciate everyone giving such great support, especially to the newbies.

Hi everybody! I'm a newbie here, and just generated my first diet. Plan on getting my food shopping done this weekend and get started.

As you can tell by my name, my son is in the military. During his longggggggg tour in Iraq, I didn't sleep, walked the floor all night long, and what do you do by yourself at 3:30 am and worried sick? The fridge became my best friend. I gained 50 lbs while he was there.

I thought that when he came home, I'd get back to my normal routine and lose it all. NOT! I tried a few things that worked for me in the past, but couldn't stick to it this time.

There is a support group for the Stryker soldiers. That's where I spent all my time talking with the other families, to help each other get through such a tough time. That's where I found the ad for FL4I. How ironic? The army is why I gained the weight, and now that's where I hopefully found a solution to lose it!

Hi, dear FL4Iers!

I am finishing off my first cycle started 9 days ago, and I hesitated until now to register here because I wasn't sure that I'd be doing the program long......having started the umpteenth diet in my lifetime!

Stumbling upon this forum really saved the day for me, as for the first 4-5 days I didn't feel well at all, craved other foods, had trouble drinking the water, and generally starting to doubt if this was for me.

But now, I must say, I feel better than I have in years, not hungy, not craving stuff, and energy levels starting to rise to an enjoyable level! I made it through the first cycle. And my weight scales show an impressive loss, although only after the 6th day. Before that it didn't look like much of anything was taking place.

You know, this diet somehow looked attractive (although I also felt sceptical) because of all the years of research on nutrition and weightloss and problems of weightloss, and after all the countless failed attempts at Atkins, McDougall, South Beach, Weight Watchers, et al., this diet didn't seem too restrictive in calories, fats, or proteins. And I have known for several years now that I feel much better when I limit, not ban, carbohydrates. So this looked promising. Also really like the clear-cut guidelines and meal plans, and incorporating more fruits and veggies than most low carb diets.

So, I registered for the Diet and started immediately.

This forum is incredibly helpful - especially with recipes and ideas for creative use of the meal plan meals.

Thanks so very much to those who have posted their useful experiences here!

I am Texan from birth but have lived here in The Netherlands all of my adult life - children born and raised here.

Hello to all, and I hope that this place does not disappear in the transfer to the Armstrong site!
