Thanks for warm welcome Sunshine! Have noticed that the UK is represented here. Actually I'm from America (Vermont) but have lived in Scotland for 14 years.
Will meet you all over on the general discussion. I am starting a cycle tomorrow.
Good luck to everyone.

Hello to new and seasoned members! My name is Diane and I am from Clearwater FL I purchased FL4I over a year ago and had good results losing weight for a few weeks but got away from it--and then LIFE happenned !!! I started DG again on Tuesday 4/7/29 and found this forum while cruising the net the other day. AWESOME! I've been pounding the H2O and getting in a little more activity daily. My goal is 30 pounds-with @ 25 gone by the 4th of July. I've got the big 50 coming up in October and my 30th wedding anniversary in November! My husband's 50th is in August, so I hope to be in shape by then. Love all the feedback and tips here.

Welcome Diane and keep us informed on your losses. Best wishes on making your goal. 50 isn't as scary as it sounds. I turned 50 in January 2008, started the diet in June 2008, lost the weight by the end of October 2008 and by the time I turned 51 this last January, I felt and looked younger than I have in a long time! So it is only a number, remember that.

Hi, all!
On day 6 of DG and have lost 5lbs so far. I am 55, 5'0" and about 20lb to lose. I am a competitive martial artist trying to get back in shape (big tournament in June!). My age and height make maintaining ideal weight harder every year and I always put on about 10lb at least after the Christmas holiday (Michigan winters do me in!). I started this at 143lbs. My one big weakness is a couple glasses of wine in the evening (we own a vineyard and DH makes really good wines!) For exercise I do Bikram yoga, taekwondo, and would like to start running again - hope it doesn't sabotage me too much with excessive exercise but in the past I have had to do lots to lose weight.

Plinej - Welcome! 5 lbs. in 6 days is great! Please stop by the general discussion thread and introduce yourself to everyone! I know it seems repetitive, but some people only read that thread, and I am sure everyone would love to meet you. Just an FYI... I drank wine almost every single night on this diet and I still lost relatively fast (over 45 lbs in 4.5 months). The wine did not seem to affect my losses as it is allowed on the diet, although only one glass. The diet says 4 oz. glass of wine, but I always had at least double that. Everyone loses at a different rate and things that affect some, do not affect others. So you will have to find your "groove". Good luck in your tournament in June!

Back to Weight loss for idiots again! I first started this diet a month (4 yrs ago) before I met my now husband (married for 3 yrs this June) and lost 8lbs. I looked great! Long story short I gained alot of weight from our now one year old baby - I was on bed rest for four months, a very bad preg with bad delivery...gained a good amount of weight. I went on flfi the 2nd time and lost 15lbs of that glorious pregnancy weight!
Being bored with the food I went on weight watchers - I did lose some weight with ww (about 12lbs so far) but with my body, the more restrictive caloric intake gets, the more stubborn my body gets with weight loss). So I am heading back to wlfi again to speed things up and confuse my stubborn metabolism. It's amazing how strict and hard working we can be but to lose no weight is unacceptable. I'm back to my old friend weight loss for idiots for help!
I have an ultimate goal weight of losing 25lbs more - but want to get to my next first goal weight of losing 10lbs. I have no irrational hopes like 10lbs in 1 month but am happy with a couple pounds of weight loss per week.
I hope to gain encouragement from you all! Glad to be back. It was sooooo nice to have scrambled eggs with cheese today after eating plain egg white sandwiches for the last two months! :-)

Hi Sweetieday! I remember you from last November's post in Success Stories thread! I am glad to see you back. I am still holding and not gaining. Oh, I go up and down a couple of pounds now and then, but pretty much stick to my same weight from ending the diet last October. So it can work long term. Maybe you can get more creative with the meals and make the diet not so boring this time. Let us know if we can help with ideas if you get stuck. See you around!

Welcome back Sweetie Day! Glad to have you join us again! Like Webfairy I am maintaining nicely most of the time and if I go up 2-3 pounds I do a cycle and get it off.

Hey Webfairy and Sunshine, Thanks for the welcome. How much have you both lost on this diet? I definitely do not want to do the yo yo thing (unless pregnancy gets in the way of that again) and would like to be creative. The thing is I think the first cycle will be no problem since I haven't done it in awhile. The second cycle might be tough.

I just completed day 1 and lost 1.5lbs overnight :-) This diet works for me because I need to be tricked into losing weight. My body holds onto water/fat for dear life! Woo hoo I'm excited.

Hello to all...
My name is Marcy and I am on my second day of the DG. I feel fine and am very motivated and happy to have a game-plan to lose this 50 pounds I've gained over the last 6 months. Got really bored and depressed and ate myself into poor health and extreme weight gain. Super bummed out about it.
Here's some info about me: I am a graphic designer, have two sons (18 and 9), been with my husband, Grady for 11 years. He is so wonderful to put up with my nonsense! I've been a graphic designer for advertising / publications for over 15 years.
I am 36 years old, 5' 8" tall, and weigh 189 pounds right now. I was up to nearly 193 pounds. Ouch! I want to be back to around 140 pounds by the end of October 2009. We'll see if the weight comes off at 5 pounds per 2 week cycle at the very least so that I can reach this goal. I know I can stick to the diet, it's just a matter if it works the way I plan. Hopefully!
I exercise in the form of walking, biking or wii fit / active twice per day for about 30-40 minutes. I have been doing that for 3 weeks, along with calorie counting (that's how I lost the 3 pounds so far), but that is not fast enough for me to stick with it. I need to be told exactly what to eat or else I'm floundering and driving myself nuts!
Here is a photo of myself from about a year ago, I want to get back to looking like this as soon as humanly possible. I am sooooo sick of being chubby and having my face look so round and chin-y. If I had a photo of myself now I would post it, you'd be shocked! But no one could snap a picture of me now and survive it, I would flip my lid!
Thanks for all your support, encouragement, success stories and information. Good luck to us all.

Hi Marcy, WELCOME!!...I'm relieved to see you are not really Nurse Ratched lol You are just beautiful! This forum and plan are great! The diet works and it works faster than many. Be sure to measure yourself too...as you will lose inches. It is real fat burner and you will be thinner and a smaller size before you even reach your normal goal.
We will look forward to you adding your success story...and do take one "before" photo if even just for you...it will be a good reminder to "not go there" when you are trim again!

Hey there Sunshine!
I did measure myself and posted data with my first post on this forum for reference. Thank you for suggesting that, I'm sure it will help me see results and keep me motivated.
Also, thanks for the compliment - I am only Nurse Ratched on the inside, when I am in foul mood - which isn't all that often now that I'm taking care of myself better, therefore taking care of my family better, too!
I super appreciate everyones suggestions, info, support and encouragement -- it makes all the difference to me in order to stick with this diet and exercise regimen and to make it a permanent lifestyle change.
I'm sure I'll be with this forum for many years to come.
Thanks again to everyone for everything! You guys are fabulous!
