FL4I - ALL ABOUT EXERCISE
Contrary to the opinion of many, exercise is a crucial aspect to any diet. Getting the right amount of exercise can help you to:
· Increase your energy level
· Improve your mood
· Improve your appearance
· Lose weight
· Reduce your risk of certain diseases
· Improve your chance of aging well
There are many opinions and misconceptions concerning whether exercise is required on the FL4I diet. The following should put to rest this misconception…
(1) The “10-Rule” diet does require two 30-minute sessions of “walking per day to greatly help reduce weight loss”.
(2) The “11-Day” diet (Diet Generator); however “does not require exercise of any kind”.
Although the “11-Day” diet does not require exercise to lose the weight, exercise is an important aspect of every day life, whether it’s parking a little further at the shopping mall to walk that extra distance, taking the stairs rather than take the elevator, walk to a corner store rather than drive.
It is suggested that a person walk 10,000 steps per day to maximize health and for weight loss.
Just how far is 10,000 steps?
The average person’s has a stride length of approximately 2.5 feet. This means, it will take just over 2,000 steps to walk one mile with 10,000 steps being equivalent to 5 miles.
The average sedentary person may only average 1,000 to 3,000 steps per day. For these people, adding steps has many health benefits.
A suggested goal for the average sedentary person is to add 500 steps per day until you can reach 10,000.
Purchasing a very good Pedometer will help you to track the number of steps you walk per day.

Also, the following post came from one of our members which contains some very helpful information...
I've been watching "Paul McKenna: I can make you thin" on sunday nights.
His last show was on metabolism and exercise. He said most people dread exercise because they relate it to spending money to join a gym and the "no pain-no gain" theory.
In fact we exercise our bodies everyday just by getting out of bed and moving about. What we need to do is just move about more.
He claims a 15 min walk is about 2000 steps. His theory is "no effort, no gain" but "a little effort, tremendous gain"!
I know that you have read my posts here on this forum since Feb. and might think this a bit strange coming from a girl that has no daily exercise plan but I'm now begining to see how simple and easy exercise can be!
This is a great site, Keep up the good work with all the helpful info and encouragements! I really cant praise this CPH forum enough!
