FL4I – INSPIRATION & MOTIVATION
While on any diet, we all seem to lose motivation and need inspiration every now and then.
If you have any inspirational thoughts that you would like to share, or motivation that can help encourage others, by all means please feel free to post them here.

This is an article that I found by Bob Green that I hope will help to inspire all:
Circle of Life
"You know the pattern. You’re angry about something. The solution: a fistful of chocolate chip cookies. You’re down in the dumps for no particular reason. Nothing Ben & Jerry’s can’t fix. One of the greatest weight loss obstacles is fighting emotional eating — impulsive, unhealthy snacking triggered by stress, boredom, depression, and other factors. To halt these cravings that can sabotage your weight loss efforts, you have to determine what triggers those episodes of late-night cookies and straight-from-the-carton ice cream binges. What are you angry or depressed about that makes you turn to food for comfort?
A great self-discovery exercise for defeating emotional eating is the Circle of Life. It pinpoints your life’s most important areas, determines their current status (going well or needs improvement), and then helps to develop a plan to correct the problem areas. It not only can put an end to your emotional eating, but also address other troubles spots that may interfere with your health and wellness.
Here’s how it works. Draw a large circle on a blank sheet of paper. Divide the circle into several sections so it resembles a sliced pie. Each section represents an area you feel is an integral part of a fulfilled life, such as career, family, health, fitness, friendship, romance, finance, relationships, etc. Aim for at least six categories and write them in each pie slice.
Next, ask yourself how everything is going in that area — and be brutally honest. Going well, write a positive sign; not so well, make a negative sign. Examine the slices with a negative sign. How could you improve that area? What is something you can do every day to stimulate positive change? Write at least one item in each section that you can do right now to improve that category, and then commit yourself to it."

I think we should all make a list of why we want to lose weight, with at least 2-5 things that are longstanding (i.e. not for a special occasion or vacation).
I'll go first.
1. I don't have enough money to buy new clothes and walking around in my pjs is getting a little embarrasing, not to mention smelly (How many times a week can you wash a pair of pants?!).
2. I want to be able to get up off the floor in a single movement without using anything for support.
3. I don't want to jiggle when I walk or run. It's painful, not to mention embarrasing.
4. Do you ever see any happy fat people dancing in the rain on TV? It was raining today and I was thinking I would love to go outside and frolic like they do in all the romance movies but then I realized it wouldn't be romanticish if I did it because I would jiggle too much. Basically, I don't feel very elegant like this.
5. Obviously, being overweight is a health risk, but that's a "needless to say" type reason, I feel
6. I accomplished more when I was thin. Not because I was thin, but because I was more confident so I was a lot more likely to go up to someone and ask to sit next to them or invite them over.
7. I want to worry less about what I eat. Once I lose weight, I hope I'll be able to stop dieting once and for all and eat "normally" (I just want cake on my birthday!...haven't had that in six years)
8. I'll waste less money on scales (I seem to break mine out of frusteration a lot).
9. I want to be able to develop interests and hobbies outside the realm of diets and food. I don't WANT to know how many calories are in that apple or nutri-grain bar or cookie or pretzel.
10. I don't want to miss another one of my dad's birthday outings because I'm on a diet and taking me along would look awkward since all I would get is a diet pop and maybe a salad that I hardly touch because I don't know it's exact caloric value. I don't know how many more he's going to have.
11. (One extra for good luck...at least that's what they say in the indian culture) I want to sleep in a bed, in my room with a pillow. Not on the floor, in the hallway because I feel I should be able to cushion myself with all my fat.

| I want my life back, I want to be able to wear the clothes that don't fit, and I would like to go to my Drs hold my head up and say I did this without her help.

1. I want to wear a pair of low rise jeans without having nasty love handles hanging out over the top
2. I want to look in the mirror and see a thin face looking back at me, not someone who looks all puffy
3. I want to be able to see my abs again
4. I want to feel confident in the bedroom with my hubby with the lights on
5. I dont want to have to crack jokes about my fat #%@&! anymore
6. I want to learn how to control my eating habbits, instead of them controlling me
7. I want to be able to wear tighter T shirts without lumps and bumps poking out.
8. I want that bra strap look to go away
9. I want to feel proud of myself for doing all these things
