Hey everyone - I am still alive :)
So the meeting with the professor went well, but man am I behind!! I created a to-do list of assignments to complete before may 4th inorder to complete my Master's program... All I can say is waaaaaaaaaahhhhh lol. I have 16 assignments and less than 4 weeks to do them. On TOP of lesson planning. Don't know if I can do it -- but sure will try!!
BF got back from colorado late last night and leaves again in 3 weeks for boot camp. Such a bummer that I can't spend much time with him as I will be frantically trying to get work done :(
I have to be so short - I have been reading, sounds like exciting things are happening :) Chances are I will be pretty distant until graduation though as I wont have much time to post.
Butterfly- I can't believe YOU are getting snow this late! Not unusual here lol. The sun has been out the last few days and melting a lot of the snow thankfully. It did snow on saturday before Easter, and we officially broke the snow record for the snowiest winter in some 50 years or so. Hopefully that'll be it for the year, but we Alaskans arent holding our breath!
Take care eveyone!
I will check in when I can...

Oh good. I was worried I had to eat every 2.5 hours. I need to go back and reread the instruction to refresh my mind.
Butterfly--isn't it crazy it snowed! It's all melted here now, but I had to pull out all the winter coats again. I hope that's the last of it!
Off to boot camp! Will check in in the morning.

Lorraine, thank you for clarifying.... I guess I went overboard for fruit day, certainly did not feel like I lost anything... so thank you for the advice. I think protein with veggies sounds like a better alternative next time. I didn't realize that we could have a sandwich and ONLY a sandwich. I find this diet a little challenging when cooking for the whole family, so I alway trys to have a salad on the table for me to eat with whatever I'm allowed for that meal. My salad consists of lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes...so, if my meal is only protein, I can have the salad with it? I know about limiting the salad dressing to 2T, so hopefully that is ok. I try really hard to get our family to eat together, so I'm always trying to be creative to see how I can get their meal to resemble what I can have that day.
I also substitute proteins for proteins, fruit for fruit, do you consider that allowable? I will substitute high fat protein with other high fat protein, and low fat with low fat, and for fruit, I just try to pick a fruit that I have available. I substituted baked beans with oatmeal this morning, do you think that is allowed? I thought it was ok since oatmeal is on the plan. I am just trying to make it work with day to day life so I will stick with it. Still working on only eating until satisfied, that's a tough one!
Anita - thanks for the fruit day advice! I may have to plan a shopping trip or something for the next time to keep me busy!!! BTW - your BF sounds like a keeper! :)

Good evening ladies!
Sorry I was MIA yesterday; I had a full day, and then, my friend called at 22:15...kept me on the phone for 2hrs , so I was really sleepy after that long call. Well, Mon I had a fruit/day combo and this helped me to 'appreciate' veg days again! I had bought beautiful grapes and really wanted to have them, plus I couldn't have a sandwich, as I cannot eat meat this week, so I didn't have much choice. It went well! I liked the variety and I didn't feel hungry. I also tried to have some shirataki noodles with mushrooms, peppers and tomato but I ended up throwing that food away, as the noodles looked so strange...part of the noodles were extremely thin (and I mean thin as paper), and the rest of them had the typical noodle size...very weird..it just put me off and I didn't have any noodles ever since. Yesterday went ok, I was busy cleaning octapus..hubby got 5 of them! Can you believe that! I was cleaning for hours! Then, I had some for my protein meal, but I also had a bit of bread to go with the tomato sauce... I know, I know...but it was hard to resist..I also got my monthly pressie yesterday and I just couldn't deny me that little piece of bread. Today, I had terrible pains and I didn't go shopping...I have to buy calamari and mussels to have for my protein meals..I will do tomorrow. Thankfully, I had 1 protein meal today, so there was some octapus left. But for tomorrow, I have to eat a lot of protein, so I have to go shopping early in the morning. Oh, I miss eggs!
What else did I do? Oh,I also watched two nice movies today: "La Vie en Rose" and "Angel-a"..they are both French films, I recommend them!
Zas, yeaaaa, 1 more day for us!!! Oh my God, those guests on Mon! Did they think they were coming to sleep over to your place? ? That was a late dinner, but very quick nevertheless! I hope you will find a place soon at that club..sorry there weren't many classes for your daughter..perhaps she can work out with some dvds? Oh, I workout with no shoes and I hope I won't have to use sneakers, as I don't use shoes in the home..but I hope I won't need them in the next Si6 dvd!
Lorraine, thanks for your advice, fruit/veg day went well. But I have become a big fun of fruit day, so next time, perhaps I will do a pure fruit day on day 8..let's see. I do use my bike as much as I can, but I have to admit that...we got a vespa 1 week ago, so I ride this as well. I only use the motorbike as a tube/metro substitute for longer distances, but it is a temptation some times over the bicycle.. I only survived Easter, cause I really promised myself not to fail again (at least not so soon)..I had also make hubby promise me that he will tell me off if I eat something 'illegal', plus I am looking forward to celebrate my second Easter (the Greek one) next Sun, which will be in my last cheat day! On Fri & Sat I cannot eat any cakes, as they contain milk and eggs, so I will be like being on the plan, hopefully. I did go to Tesco on Mon to buy another chocolate egg, but there weren't any left! I was so annoyed! Thankfully, I have my flake one to treat myself on Sun! I plan to have the half and freeze the rest (as I know that if it is in my reach, I will have it sometime in my plan, which I don't want to do). I am very pleased how hubby perceived my dieting this time. He is helping me by not bringing me any treats and he suggested that if I loose even 1 kilo in 7-10 days and I maintain it, it will be a massive gain and that by July we hope to go on a holiday, I could be 10 kilos lighter, which would be just brilliant! Let's see how that goes! Thanks Lorraine, I am looking forward to my weight-in on Fri too!
Elina, how dedicated sports-woman you are! I was sure you would have your dvds with you...if you have them even in a hotel! Elina, I love your motivation for sports, for sure it pays off; I saw your lovely figure when you were doing that dance on youtube ! Do you have 2-3lbs to lose? I would say to be moderate as you are anyway and it will go away in no time! Plus, you are able to spot it, but I don't think people can tell if you have that tiny extra on you! Good you are having some help with breakfast! I bet it is hard work anyway to feed so many people! I hope you enjoy the warm weather and the nice company!
Anita, well done for being POP every day and particularly at Easter! I am sure you will see a massive loss! Happy Birthday for the 'Twinkies'! Oh, how sweet your bf to the girls and to you! It was funny that you couldn't find your present, even though it was in your room..lol...so nice present and matching to that pink present! BF has nice taste in getting presents! Let's see what the next one will be!
Butterfly, good to see you! We missed you! Your last post was last Fri?! Glad you enjoyed Easter and your Bday meal! You did it, Butterfly! You lost all the weight for your Bday!! What's your wish for next year then, if I may ask? Your little girl is a strong one! She will lose the lbs in no time! She seems to enjoy it, as she chooses her own meals too. And good job for not putting pressure on hubby...I think he knows what he has to do; he just needs to take the decision and this will come soon....You have been the great example for your family and for us here. Oh, and thanks for not passing me that recipe..lol...you know, I am sure I would be curious to try it and I will be probably having most of it! So, thanks for your suggestion! :)
Jules, welcome to the forum and the diet! Good luck for your cycle!
Boogykosch, well done for staying strong on fruit day! It was difficult for me at the beginning too that day, but I now love fruit day..strange enough!
Groovy, good job for being POP!
See you all tomorrow

Hi girls!
Zas...I only skipped one day of activities...sometimes I like time to myself.
Today we took a day trip to see a lighthouse and were on our way to see another one but we stopped for lunch and it wound up being a little late to go and we were all ready to go home. So we did that and then my friend and I went shopping for some OBX sweatshirts and kids and husbands stayed home...my husband is playing poker with all the kids right now.
Julie, welcome to the board...glad you survived fruit day...let us know how you're doing!
Eva...octapus! lol I never cleaned one...they sell it already clean and cut up. I like it in a fried form and called calamari! lol I'm so glad that you are being good this cycle..can't wait till W day (weigh in day)
Amy...try to limit substitutions until you see how you are responding to the diet and see what you can and can't get away with. I can't eat anything w/o a side of veggies and I usually have either cucumber slices or tomatoes on the side.
Anita our little lovebird...I had a choc ice cream cake from Stone cold creamery once and OMG...it is rich and I dont know...not over rated! lol But I love anything chocolate and ice cream....let's just say that I don't go anywhere near that place. WHAT's THE SURPRISE?? I love surprises!
Butterfly...yes stick skinny! lol I have a really nice dress I ordered for a bar mizvah we are going to in June but I am going to wear it to my mom's party and my tummy has to be FLAT....So I will be doing a cycle and probably a 3 day detox...oooh...I hate those!
You do have a talent for remember who posted what and who hasn't posted...I have to scroll down many times to read and reread and make sure what I remember is from the right person.
Anyway...it's 8:30 and it sure does not look like my husband is ready to finish the poker game and start the 'put the kids to bed' game...I think I need to intervene.
Be back tomorrow! Good night!

Hi Lorraine.
I did the diet plan about 4/5 years ago, and there was definately no pasta on that one. I have rejoined and re paid to make sure I had the up to date plans. Have printed off several generated plans to keep me going. I had forgotton how hard the fruit day is. , but took up the Tomato soup idea, which helped, then I just went to bed early so I was not tempted-lol
I am not very computer literate, so I dont know how to get my details and a little picture for my name tag. I have also seen 'tickers' around the site, and would love to have one as additional motivation--please can you help?
Thanks
Julie

Good morning!
I am getting ready to go to the gym...lol The gym I set up in my inlaws' house...so lucky that their house is not rented out this week and I can workout there..too much going on over here.
Zas, yes I will start a FULL cycle possibly even on Sunday. I was thinking about trying the NEW menu and tried again to generate the menu...looked it over..not very enticing. I was hoping Butterfly could help me out and make me one that she would make for herself (HINT HINT Butterfly!) And if not, I'll do my fav menu.
Julie...going to bed early is a good idea when you are at the end of a veggie day! It's hard but I usually wake up not hungry and feeling skinnier!
I will be back later....want to get my workout out of the way first.

Hello all!
Zas, well done! 3.3lbs is a great loss and especially, since you haven't completed the full cycle! Try to drink a lot of water at your friend's, in case you are retaining water! Still great loss and I am looking forward to start another cycle with you on Mon!
Jules, you can add an avatar if you go to 'My Account', then click on 'Avatar' and upload a pic. You may need to resize it though, if it is too big.
Elina, enjoy your workout! Good idea to set up your gym in your in-laws' home...for sure your place will be too busy to workout!
Off to buy my protein finally! It has been raining and I don't feel like walking in the rain! Will talk to you later!

Zas, I forgot to comment on your loss! 3.3 is really good...you lost 4.8 last cycle, right? I don't know what you gained back but sounds like you're doing well!
I am definitely under bad influence of my friend..she is so funny. She pretty much eats one big meal a day and has a big desert. Then she complains all day of a tummy ache, then at night she drinks champagne and has another desert...ice cream bowl. Then she wakes up feeling yucky...her idea of a diet is Super Cleanse (the pills that make you go BM). Then she repeats the cycle. I'm not being quiet that bad but I woke up feeling like my face is sullen b/c I ate what I normally don't yesterday and I took cleansers. You know what? After a cup of coffee I was in the bathroom twice already and feeling much better! lol I need to be good again!

Hey Everyone! Had another good day yesterday and weighed this morning and I am down 1.5 since Monday, so I am happy with that.
Elina - I work full time and have 2 teenage boys in MANY activities, so I do the best with sticking to the plan, but substitutions are the only way I can actually stay on the plan and have any kind of normalcy, so as long as I keep losing, I'm gonna keep doing the plan this way. If I start to stall, I will definitely take your advice! This time of year is crazy for us, but I didn't want to put this off any longer, and summer is coming quickly!
You are ALL correct in that this forum is keeping me both motivated and have accountability. The last 2 evenings I have thought about having a snack before bed, I wasn't even hungry, and I thought of all of you on the forum and changed my mind....YEAH ME!!
Zas - I just started season 2, so no spoilers here! I just watched the ending of season 1 last night and couldn't believe they ended the season that way! My husband said can you imagine if we had to wait for the next season! Thankfully we could start watching it right away!
I don't know how all of you keep up with everyone's comments, but now that I am posting regularly I am incredibly impressed!
BBL - Have a great day everyone!!

Good afternoon all... well it's almost 5:30 pm here anyway! lol..
Been so busy today not had a chance to post until now! Just got back from my walk with the dog.. was more of a hike actually! lol.. and now I have 10 mins before I need to start cooking dinner.
Danielle... Awww bless your cotton socks! Don't worry about posting here if you don't have the time.. we all understand the pressure you are under at the moment. Good luck with the work load.. I hope you catch up ok. Take care
Boogy... Yes, fruit day's sandwich is just the sandwich but remember you do get a salad too as you are allowed to pack the sandwich as full as you like with salad and deli meat (lean protein).. just make sure you ONLY eat until full though.. as that IS very important on this plan for best results.
Yes, you can have lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, peppers and onions with any protein.. we all do it and it hasn't affected our loss.
Make sure your salad dressing is a low calorie as you can find and use it very sparingly.
As for subbing foods.. check out my post on the diet tips and guidelines thread as I have listed allowed substitutes. But in general... ALWAYS choose the leanest low fat, low sugar, low calorie types if you can for best results. As a general rule when subbing foods you should sub like for like in nutritional values (google the nutritional values to compare). With proteins ensure you trim all visible fat off of meats. Also, don't add fats and oils to cooking (pam spray is ok). Chicken, goat, turkey and fish are the best kinds of protein to use when subbing.. they are super speed loss foods.. lean and low in fat and calories. When subbing fruits choose low glycemic types (those allowed for fruit day are mostly low GI types) I have posted a list of low glycemic fruits on the diet tips and guidelines thread. Choose low fat cheeses if you have cheese on the menu or you can sub with fat free plain yoghurt.
Great to see you posting regularly as staying accountable really does help. In fact, when I was on plan and felt like snacking I would log in here and chat.. that kept me out of the fridge and took my mind off of food!
Eva... What a good idea to freeze half of your easter egg to stop you eating it all at once!! Brilliant! Mind you... the way I am with easter egg chocolate it would still play on my mind that it was in the house and I probably would have robbed it back out of the freezer and eaten it frozen! lol . Octopus! I have never eaten that and really, really feel ill at the very thought of it! lol.. Definitely not for me! Now, don't you start making that bicycle of yours redundant now that you have a vespa! lol.. the bicycle is the tool that will assist you greatly in reaching your goal! Good luck on your weigh in tomorrow.
Zas... Way to go girl!! 3.3lb is still a very good loss and is definitely worth celebrating! You are going in the right direction.. remember, one step at a time! I still think you need to watch those blt's though! Enjoy your trip to your friend's.. have fun but not too much! lol
Julesg46... Congrats on getting through fruit day and yes, I agree, going to bed early on that day is a great way to avoid giving into temptation.. So is keeping yourself busy!

I have never used the tickers but there are full instruction on ticker.com to help you with that
Butterfly.. hello.. goodbye! lol... you are the busy bee lately! catch up with you laters
Well... really do have to go now and start dinner... hubby is giving me that 'when's dinner' look! Laters

Butterfly, yes if you can send me your fav menu, I would really appreciate it! I guess I'm not really good at making a good menu...I know not to pick all the egg types and nuts b/c you can sub scrambled for omelette, nuts can be subbed too..I just don't know a good way to make a menu! For now I'm enjoying my vacation!
Amy, I understand that being on a diet is really hard in every day life...I just meant that you should stick to the menu as much as you can for best results. But really...I'm the queen of substitutions! lol
Like right now I'm substituting all yummy stuff for my boring 'healthy' stuff...haha just kidding!

Pasted from my post on the diet tips and guidelines thread for the newbies
TIPS THAT HELPED ME STICK TO THE PLAN
1. Go through your fridge, freezer and food cupboards and give away all foods, drinks, sweets etc that might tempt you away from your diet. I did this, I filled my daughter's larder by giving her all the trigger foods that might have tempted me including fattening jars of sauces and condiments! In fact I was SO thorough I couldn't cheat on a whim if I wanted to as I didn't have ANYTHING in the house that was not FL4I friendly! So If I really did want to be naughty I'd have had to go out to the store to get it, which by this time, I'd have second thoughts and change my mind!
If you have children I guess it can be difficult to do the above so instead you could have a cupboard just for their goodies such as cakes, sweets, potato chips, bisuits etc and then make sure you STAY OUT of it.. that way such trigger foods would be out of sight, and hopefully, out of mind.. and won't be there to tempt you every time you go to the larder to prepare your meals.
2. NEVER go food shopping whilst hungry or close to a meal time. Try to go shopping just after eating your meal, after lunch for instance. This way you won't be as tempted to buy those wonderful smelling breads, cakes and pastries that seem to waft around the supermarket.... it's surprising how hungry you can get when browsing the food supermarkets and if you've not already eaten you will be much more tempted to impulse buy.
3. Fill a small side plate or cereal bowl with your meals instead of a dinner plate.
A half empty dinner plate may look as though it would not be enough to fill you up and have you wanting to add more, yet the same amount placed in a small bowl/side plate will fill it up and look much more satisfying. I found doing this helped a great deal with portion control and I soon got used to eating smaller amounts to the extent that it wasn't long before I found I was actually leaving food uneaten in the bottom of the small bowl or side plate!
4. Keep active and busy if you can... this will help to burn calories and the time between meals will fly by and you will be less likely to think about food or snacking in between meals.
5. Print out your menu cycle and plan your meals for the day ahead each morning by writing down beside each meal what you intend to have and when for that meal and then stick to it. .. eg. menu says eggs & ham, I might have a spanish omelette and so would write Lunch/omelette.. and so on.
6. If you have selected the sandwich option (fruit day on DG) keep your loaf of bread in the freezer and take out the 2 slices to defrost on the morning of fruit day. Not only will this stop you reaching for the bread as a snack but it will last for ages as you only have one sandwich throughout the 11 day cycle. A loaf lasts my husband and I around a month by doing this and we are never tempted as out of sight is out of mind! It is also worth bearing in mind that you don't HAVE to make a sandwich, you could instead have a lean steak, fish, chicken or other deli meat with salad (mixed lettuce leaves, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, celery & peppers) This I think is much more satisfying than the sandwich and will not affect your loss in any way.. though if you use a salad dressing, do so sparingly and only use fat free or very low calorie types.. plain is better if you can.
7. On fruit day, cut up a selection of fruits from the list and mix together in a small bowl. This way, it looks much more that just nibbling on an apple and is much more satisfying. I also like to make up a sugar free jelly (such as Hartley's sugar free, which is only 8 calories per 1/4 pint serving). When set, mash in with the bowl of mixed fruit... tastes like a dessert treat! This is allowed as the jelly is below 10 calories a serving and drinks up to 10 calories each are allowed on the plan.
8. Be creative! Use the ingredients on your menu to create tasty meals and don't forget herbs and spices can make all the difference and prevent your meals becoming boring. For instance, when I have chicken I like to marinade in garlic and lemon before cooking or sprinkle with dried herbs and/or spices. Check out the recipe page for ideas.
9. When fruit salad in on the menu, those in the UK can not get the cool whip topping suggested to make the salad. Instead, use a couple of dessertspoons of fat free vanilla yoghurt. After checking the ingredients I found the cool whip is full of rubbish anyway and that the fat free yoghurt in comparison is healthier and lower in calories and sugar.
10. You can add tomatoes, peppers and onions to ANY meal as those are the ingredients for the salsa sauce condiment which is allowed with any meal. Check out the 'quick tomato soup' recipe for fruit day on the recipe thread.. great for something hot and savoury to get through the day.
Also worth noting is that a serving of lettuce and cucumber are approx 10 calories and can be safely added to meals along with the tomatoes, peppers and onions as a side salad. This is especially useful when you have proteins only on the menu.. such as chicken, fish etc. I always added them and I lost very well.
11. A lot of us include shirataki noodles (also known as miracle noodles or zero noodles) to the menu. They are calorie free, fat free, sugar free, gluton free and can be eaten with any meal throughout the plan. They are very filling and a great pasta substitute... ideal for stir frys and soups etc. Google them to find out more.
Walden Farms also stock a lot of zero calorie products which can be included on the plan.. I can recommend the chocolate syrup.. yummy over bananas or frozen yoghurt!

Ghostwrite... That's brilliant that you are losing so well whilst not on cycle.. I am so happy for you! But you must be doing SOMETHING different to be losing weight.. especially to lose 4lbs in 9 days even if you aren't following a specific diet. Are you just eating healthily and watching the fat, sugar and carb intake? Or maybe you are following the fl4i principles plus mindful of what you are eating.. whatever it is... share!! lol I'm sure EVERYONE would like to know how you are 'losing without even trying'!
It's 3am and I had to get up.. just couldn't sleep.. not even a wink. Don't know what's gotten in to me lately... I lay there for hours and end up getting up again.. not sleepy at all. Been getting a couple of hours a night at the most and it's driving my hubby nuts with my tossing and huffing all night long! I've tried the sleepy teas and even the tablets the doctor prescribed but nothing works. Anyway, that's why I am here at this ungodly hour posting! lol.

no I plan everything!! from doing the Body Building program I had to keep track of everything I put in my mouth, and get enough proteins, calories, carbs etc. So I use the myfitnesspal.com and log all my food, and pre-plan the night before. that's what I was doing an hour ago. So doing the 6 meals is the same as the other program except I'm not getting protein every 6 meals like I was, I find I'm more hungry doing this than the body building meal plan. I have been having oatmeal every morning also(not allowed on BC) but 5 egg whites, 1/4c oatmeal, and a fruit became my standard breakfast for the last 7-8months... so... :)
anyways trying to pre-plan meals for this weekend going out of town, bringing what I can.

Lorraine : Hmm, I eat what I want, but nothing too much, like I would take a salad instead of a piece of pizza, but I really love salads! If you know what I mean, I eat a little less, and not after 6 pm (or I try to!) and drink only water or no cals. soft drink!
I try to think about the calories I take everyday, to not go over 1800... I don't log in to the website to write everything down to my stomach anymore, but I am more aware of what I eat, and what I should take instead of "that" one thing. :)
When I am hungry, I just try to eat properly, to not go like crazy to only eat, but to eat something good.. well, it's all tricks you already know about! :D I just now put it to real life instead of saying 'I should do this'. :P
I have this passion for chocolate, and I am now hating it! Especially during Easter... lots of chocolate everywhere.. god, leave me alone ahahaha :P
Have a good day everyone! :D Stay POP!

Ghostwrite.. So what you are saying is you are selecting healthy foods, being mindful of your calorie intake by selecting salad for example instead of pizza etc. That's how I have maintained my weight for the past 12 months but continued losing/leaning off.
I too eat a lot of salad... lol.. salad or leafy veg with everything also avoiding heavy, starchy and calorie dense foods.
It's good what you are doing as it means you won't have any problems keeping it off once you reach your goal as you are not just 'dieting'.. instead you have adapted your lifestyle to eating healthily as a way of life. That's brilliant.. well done you.. keep it up!
Where is everyone... Come ooooon.. it's friday!! waiting to hear results!! . I am off out now with my daughter for a few hours so will have to wait now till I get back to see how everyone did. Good luck all those weighing today!

Hello all!
Sorry, this has to be a very quick email, as I have a very busy day ahead. I just want to report my loss:
2.25kg or 4.9lbs. I am happy about that, I just hope I can maintain it.... ...especially after planning my chocolate and other cakes on my Easter day! I will have to try very very hard!
I will post in the night, have a great Friday all, x

Good morning!
Eva...that's excellent result but look here now girlfriend....you are going to HAVE to skip cakes if you want to maintain it. You can have a slice...that is it! And that is how you will have to learn to be...remember..we are changing bad habits. Moderation is key. Have some fruit...it will satisfy your sweet tooth and you won't feel guilty afterwards.
Zas...are you away? Did you say you're going somewhere for a day? You're not here today! hope you're being good!
Lorraine...I swear by sleepytime tea lately. Remember how I used to be up at nights? I drink a 1/2 cup before bed and then sometimes I take a sip or two if I wake up to go to bathroom and feel like I may not fall back asleep. I have had a couple of bad nights in the last 4 months b/c I drink it.
Ghostwrite, that's great that you are losing w/o trying!
Rickie...I know you're a Beachbody girl..you know what they say 'consistency is key'...stick with your plan and you will do great.
Ok, speaking of Beachbody....my workout is waiting for me! My last workout of the week...my body really needs a rest day!
BBL!

Hey Everyone! Thanks Lorraine for all of the helpful tips that you posted! I will go over to the dieting tips and tricks and look at what you have listed for substitutions.
Elina - I know you understand about the family/busy life, just looking at your videos of your adorable family! That is my biggest struggle with dieting, trying to find meals that everyone will like while staying on the plan.
I have a question.... I am trying to switch my plan a little to be able to have my choice days on the weekend of the 27th, since my husband are both taking that day off work to spend the day together, and this weekend is my son's birthday. So, do you guys think that I should do a choice weekend this weekend (today is day 5) and then start fresh on Monday, (to partner with you, Elina :)) or keep going on plan until the 27th? I didn't think about this when I started on Monday....Any thoughts or ideas?
Zas - what episode in season 2 are you on?
Butterfly - how are you doing in maintenance? I'm so impressed with your loss!
BBL!! Have a great morning!

| Amy, what day are you on now? You can always make your cycle a day or two shorter, take your cheat days and start fresh. Or you can start on Sunday the 15th and you'll be done on the 26th if you are currently not on a cycle...you don't have to start on Mondays!

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. Busy busy with four little ones. I am so proud of myself that I finally got out and ran 3.5 miles yesterday. I haven't run in almost 5 months due to the weather. I was worried I wouldn't be able to do it, but I did. It felt really great!
I'm on day 5 and have lost 4 pounds! I did notice today that when I went to my boot camp class early this morning that I did not have much energy. I should have eaten something before I went but was in a hurry. I won't be doing that again. I also didn't have my frozen yogurt treat last night which probably would have helped give me a little more pick up this morning.
I'm not too excited about today's menus. Lots of meat and cottage cheese. I'll get through it. I'll have a little side cup of tomato soup just for a little something different.
I enjoy reading your posts. Thanks for being here!

Hello Everyone :o)
Just popping in real quick to post my weigh in results....I lost 3.5lbs this cycle. I'll take that even with my naughty days last week.
I will be back later to catch up but right now I'm going to hop back into bed for a couple of hours to make up for some lost sleep last night
Stay POP!

Congratulations to all those who lost today!!
Eva.. wow 4.9lbs is amazing!! So pleased to see you getting such amazing results! Your hard work is finally paying off.. and I'm sure the cycling is helping too! Now, don't spoil it by going mad on your easter day! On your choice days stick to the principles of the plan and eat wisely with plenty of fruit and veggies with lean proteins.. but for just ONE meal each day have some of the treats you have saved.. ie.. half of the chocolate egg on one day and then the cake the next day and maybe the other half of easter egg for the 3rd day? That way you can look forward to and enjoy your treats without gaining back any of the weight. Then you can start the next cycle fresh without having to lose any cheat day gains first!
Anita... Way to go girl.. 3.5lbs gone!!! woo hoo... fantastic.. congrats!! How much in total have you lost now and how many lbs left to go? Keep up the good work!
Groovy... 4lbs in just 5 days is fantastic progress and shows you are on the right track! Well done you... and congrats on the 3.5 mile run.. that is awesome.. what an accomplishment that is for you! Remember you can sub the meats for each other or even fish.. but try to select lean proteins. Also, add a small side salad of mixed lettuce leaves, onions, tomatoes, cucumber and peppers. It makes your protein into more of a meal and is much more satisfying. Or, you could add some low fat stock, tinned tomatoes, onions & peppers to the meat and make a casserole... you could even add some shirataki noodles to those ingredients and make a stir fry. I have posted some recipes for those meals on the recipe thread if you're interested.
Boogy... It would probably be best for you to take just 2 days this weekend as choice days, this saturday and sunday, then start a new cycle on monday as that will mean your next choice days will start on 27th. Remember though to eat healthily and in moderation whilst still sticking to the principles of the plan.. see my last post to Eva above about how to get through choice days without gaining.
Elina... Yes, Zas is away for a couple of days visiting friends.. remember? lol.
I did try sleepy tea.. camomile.. for the past 4 nights and it doesn't work for me. Even had some mild anti depressants from the doc.. not that I'm depressed lol.. she said it was also prescribed to relax muscles etc and help sleep problems. But they don't work either! I don't get it because I run around all day non stop! Plus I walk twice a day for at least an hour each time, I eat healthily, drink green teas (no caffeine) and lots of water. I always have a warm bath before bed and then the sleepy tea.. (used to be a milky drink but switched to the tea).. so why can't I sleep!! ggrrrrr

Thanks Lorraine! You are so helpful! :) You may want to check online for the side effects of the mild anti-depressant... most of them can cause insomnia....just an idea! Good luck, losing sleep is the worst thing ever, so I hope you figure it out!

Battling a migraine.... since last night, then got up with it stilll this morning! I can actually sit upright now. Still squinting...lights bother me. I'm also really nauseous, so I can't eat. Oh, and those BOYS! Shhhhhh!!!! That's all I've been saying today. Then they say they're sorry and come and hug me. A. (little one) keeps saying, "Mommy, I feel soooo BAD for you." I say, "Then....please quiet down!"
I'm sure it is hormonal. My period isn't slowing down like it should be. Still bloated up, too. Ugggh.
Sorry! Will be back soon, I hope. This is AWFUL! Gonna go lie back down.

Boogy... The doctor actually prescribed the anti depressant to HELP me sleep! lol... so it had better not be making it worse!
Butterfly... awwww bless you! Nothing worse than migraine. I hope you feel better soon. Watch out that you are not taking in too many artificially sweetened foods/drinks as they can cause those kind of symptoms.. especially the so called sugar free types that contain aspartame (the technical name for the brand names NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, Equal-Measure and Canderel). Another to avoid if you can is Sucralose (Splenda) which contains chlorine!
I am convinced that eating too much of the cake I made (which contained quite a lot of canderel) last weekend was the cause of my falling ill and bringing on the crohns flare up. I too had awful migraine, nausea, double vision etc. Check out mercola.com and read up on their report on Aspartame - most dangerous substance added to food....by typing Aspartame in their search bar.. or just google Aspartame... there are some horrifying reports out there!
As a result, I have thrown out anything I find that contains it and bought stevia and truvia instead. Though it is impossible to completely erradicate it from our diet, as it is in so many of our every day foods, I think we should all do what we can to minimize our intake as best we can. Even more reason why this plan is good for us as we eat more fresh fruit, veggies and natural products and less processed foods! Just need to watch out for the sugar free and low sugar products as they are not as good for us as we might think! Unfortunately, my favourite calorie free chocolate syrup contains it! But, I have to admit that, now that the novelty has worn off, I'm only using it once a week or so and then only a little amount.

Zas... Hope you are having a lovely time with your friends It is scary to think that those who we rely upon to look out for our health and should know what they are doing are adding such dangerous chemicals to our food chain .
On a lighter note.. My eldest son and grandson are taking me out for the day. We are going to Crealy adventure park so should be fun. Not that I will go on many of the rides but will still have a good time spent with my boys .
Will be back later.... have a great day and a lovely weekend!

Hi, Girls!
Whew! Migraine is gone. Thanks for the "well-wishes". I just feel "foggy" today and if I turn too fast, I get a bit dizzy. Strange!
I can't do a long post yet, though. Time to start lunch for all the kiddos....and Hubby.
The bulldozer is here today...starting the land prep for the new barn. The boys are super excited about it.
Will chat later! Have a GREAT day!!

YEP! I have actually been aspartame-free for over 20 years now! Did a study on it way back in college and have read a TON of stuff on it since then. I truly cannot BELIEVE it is still being used and on the market! NASTY, NASTY stuff! BUT... Splenda (dextrose, maltodextron, & sucralose).... is not apartame. It has it's own "issues", though. I do still use Splenda sparingly, but yesterday and the day before, I only had Stevia (the pure, stevia-only kinds). I didn't have coffee....trying to switch to green tea only... except for a cup or two on the weekends. I'm sure not having coffee didn't help my headache any. I try to "mix up" my artificial sweeteners, as to not concentrate any one of them in my body. Mostly I use stevia, but I also use xylitol (great for your teeth), saccharin, some splenda, and as of recently...agave nectar. It is a natural and nutritive sugar, is 40% sweeter than cane sugar (so you use less), and it's glycemic index number is about half that of sugar. It also performs in recipes and baking just like sugar. It does have carbs and calories, so it's not a "free" sugar sub, but a good option if used sparingly (when you reach maintenance or on CHOICE days).
I am convinced that eating too much of the cake I made (which contained quite a lot of splenda) last weekend was the cause of my falling ill and bringing on the crohns flare up. AND... I LOVE Dr. Mercola!! Love his sight! I have a friend that follows him to the letter! Check out his articles on live Leukemia virus in the beef we eat! ALSO... read his articles on pork. I haven't eaten ANY pork in several years and I only eat organically grown beef once or twice a year (steak/burgers on grill in summer). I occasionally use organic beef broth when I make my veggie venison stew and when I make French onion soup at the end of the summer (I freeze it). I have read about the pork thing in other places as well. There have been some amazin (and scary) scientific studies done. I guess the beef and pork industry have enough economic pull though, to keep that info. away from the general public! Anyway... I really do trust Dr. Mercola and his information.
As a result, I have thrown out anything I find that contains it and bought stevia and truvia instead. Though it is impossible to completely erradicate it from our diet, as it is in so many of our every day foods, I think we should all do what we can to minimize our intake as best we can. I really like the Walden Farms salad dressings(that makes your chocolate syrup), too...but am now mixing them with the Bolthouse Farms yogurt dressings which have good-for-you ingredients and are low cal/low carb/ low fat. I think I'll eventually JUST use the Bolthouse ones...when I stop "fearing" the calories! LOL! Oh, and I weighed today and have not gained! I'm sure my "migraine fast" yesterday, helped too! LOL! Blessing in disguise? Hmmmmmmm........don't think I'd go THAT far! Thanks for opening this subject. I think it's SUPER important! I need to read up on the Splenda stuff. I think I've avoided reading it, because I didn't really want to "know"! LOL!
Hope you are sleeping better!?

Butterfly... I mistyped my previous post but have now edited it with the correct information. I meant to have said Canderel (not Splenda) was used to make my cake... and Canderel is another name for Aspartame. Though Splenda (Sucralose) also has it's own scary reports.. did you know it is made with Chlorine and that 15% of each amount consumed is absorbed by the body?
Still not sleeping.. had another bad night last night.. think I had around 3 hours total sleep. I am feeling pretty exhaused right now so fingers crossed I sleep tonight!

Hi guys, we r about 30min from home. Our vacation was awesome, no one wanted to leave. All my fears were silly...feeding the crowd wasn't too bad...esp since our friend (him not the wife) made awesome breakfast every single day. It was fun, relaxing and memorable.
I don't even want to look at the scale any time soon..let's just say that I have fulfilled all of my cravings above and beyond. Thank goodness for FL4I ...I need it!
I did workout so I don't feel too bad.
Ok...I will be on tomm...back to reality!

anyway looks like i am better without any cheat days ...should keep them only for such occasions where we tend to go for a trip etc......or maybe just take a day off !!!
elina....glad to know you all had a good time and everything went well !!! now back to the grind.....lol......school starts tomorrow ???
butterfly / Lorraine.....now you guys have scared me !!!! lol i know all these products are bad for health ...but thought splendsa to be the safest !!!! thats why i try to use it to the minimum ie in tea/coffee.....and of course cottage cheese....now is that considered using less !!! lol
butterfly we get stevia here...but i read it had harmful affects and splenda topped the chart in being the safest so i just use only sucralose !!!! dont know about xylitol and agave nectar ?
only aspartame, suuralose, saccharin , stevia available here .
eva.....how is it going with you ????

!!!!!!!!
WARNING..... Longest BOOK post of all time ahead! LOL!
SO.... I FINALLY got myself OUT of that darned cocoon! LOL!
Well, Hubby says he'll start a cycle on Monday. Yay! L. is really struggling, poor thing. She started off so strong, but is really struggling now. She couldn’t understand why she could only have 2 pieces of pizza and had to eat salad to fill her up if she was still hungry. She is also really bucking the water- drinking all of a sudden. She chugs Arizona Diet Ginseng Green Tea though, like it’s the best thing ever. It has Splenda though, and I really don’t want her taking in that much. Today, she said, “WHY do I have to be on a DIET…I HATE diets!” LOL! Welll….first of all it wasn’t “MY” idea…. It was HERS…which I reminded her of and second of all….. “welcome to the club”….NOBODY likes being on a diet! Anything worth doing, usually isn't "easy". Now she wants to try just counting calories and as she says, “eat normal foods”. I guess her friends at school are starting to make fun of her lunches. So… that’s what we’re going to try NEXT. I SO wish she didn’t have to go through this. I want her to get healthy, though! I told her I will not force her to do this… but if she is serious about it, I will help her in any way I can. We’ll see…
Anita ~ Your BF is awesome! So funny, hiding your surprise under all the pillows! Hey…way to go on your 3.5 pound loss…with “naughtiness” and all!!?? Must be all that extracurricular exercise you’ve been getting! Oh, and all the laughing too (did you read what I posted about that??). CONGRATS again to you!!!
Danielle~ Glad your meeting went well w/ the prof. Bet you were relieved! We’ll see ‘ya this summer, then? LOL! You do what 'ya gotta do and don't worry 'bout us! We'll be here when you get back!
Groovy ~ We got “snow”…but it was just "in the air". Nothing stuck. We are way south of you. Hubby and I come to Cleveland though, every October! Small world, huh?
WOW…3.5 mile RUN… and whatever this “bootcamp” is. Sheesh! Makes me tired just reading it! LOL! I USED to be a runner…many moons ago! Now, I just speed walk and lift some weights, do calisthenics (squats, etc.). I used to have a stationary bike that I loved. I’m thinking about seeing if I can find another one. AND 4 pounds in 5 days!? SWEEEEET!!! WAY TO GO, YOU!!
Eva ~ I was reading your post and I said, “Did she say… OCTOPUS!” Yep, you sure did! LOL! Yikes and YUK! LOL! I had purchased one WAY back when my oldest two kiddos were younger. We were studying history chronologically and we were on Ancient Greece. I bought an octopus with the idea of having it for our “Greek” meal… to go with our studies. Wait....you knew we homeschooled…right? Anyway, I always try to tie-in recipes, art lessons, reading time, field trips, etc. with whatever we are studying. I couldn’t figure out WHAT to do w/ that 8-legged wonder staring back at me, so..... we ended up having swordfish, cheese, figs, and bread instead. The barn kitties got the octopus! We also set up a Greek Agora in our basement during that study. It was so fun. They still talk about that sometimes. They made clay pots, sandals, had beans and fruit baskets…all on different blankets (to “sell” their goods) and they dressed up in ancient Greek attire. It was pretty funny. I wonder where those pictures got to!
CONGRATULATIONS on your BIG loss! THAT is fantastic! You may as well go ahead and say FIVE pounds! Sheesh.…4.9! That is “5” in my book! LOL! Be good on the last day of your choice weekend…don’t go crazy… you’ll have another 3 days in just a LITTLE while!
Elina ~ WELCOME HOME! Yay…your vacation… Fun, relaxing, and memorable! What more could you ask for, right? So happy for you. I bet once you’re home awhile, you’ll be happy to be back.
Sorry I haven’t gotten a menu to you. I don’t know what foods you like/don’t like?? Let me know if you still want me to send you a couple, though.
Hey…I’m confused… WHO is Amy? LOL!
And… chocolate ice cream cake from Coldstone. That sounds like a WHOLE different animal as they say....from what we had, anyway! LOL! The ice cream was just plain weird. Is it supposed to be “stringy”?? I thought maybe something was wrong with ours. We got the “Cookie Doughn’t You Want Some” signature creation. We didn’t even know you could create your own w/ your choice of "mix-ins". Oh well… Maybe we’ll try again this summer and create our own combos.
Zas ~ Congrats on your loss! Sorry you were disappointed! Maybe you should try the “new” version of the diet again, to see how you lose on that. Hey, you did post EARLY though, too! You are doing GREAT! One other thing… with your workouts, you may be building muscle and swapping some fat for muscle! Plus, gaining on your choice days may be a lot of water. Don’t get discouraged. Way to go, hopping on a new plan!
AND… negative side effects with Stevia!? I’ve never heard of any (except for possibility of the sperm-thing with men). What did you hear/read?? I would say from what I’ve seen and Lorraine too…that Stevia should be the safest. But… like you’ve said before… all these contradicting studies are confusing and you don’t know WHO to believe! Check out the site splendaexposed dot com. It has info. on all of them, and confirmed what I have been thinking all along, lately. Saccharin (sweet ‘n low) has been around for years and years and has never been proven to cause any problems in humans. She also says the same for stevia. So…for me… I’m going to sparingly use those two and also use agave nectar, maybe a little honey, and maybe a little organic, raw cane sugar occasionally...and sucanat is another one that is a good replacement for brown sugar…only recommending these for on choice days or once reaching maintenance, though. Oh, and by the way… if the “list” you saw on Splenda being safer than stevia…had ANY connection to the “FDA”…well…I personally wouldn't trust it. I don’t KNOW… But I’d be willing to BET there’s money exchanging hands there to “protect” the Splenda brand name from its competitors. It's always about the , it seems. Itcould have actually been "sponsored" by "Splenda corporate", who knows. They could lose BIG time money if Stevia became FDA-approved for a sweetener additive in everything.
Boogy ~ Congrats on the scale going DOWN…even though you didn’t take my advice and staying off of it…teehee lol!! Just don’t let the weighing discourage you if your losses slow down. Just remember, you can literally drop 2 pounds on day 10 or 11! You can also "gain" one or two from waste or water on any given day. So… be careful with checking that scale too much.
Also, forgot to comment about your store-bought tomato soup. I too have a couple organic versions in my pantry. One of them has organic cream and organic cane sugar. The other one has canola oil and I think the sweetener in that one was rice syrup. One of them also had over 600 mg of sodium per serving. So… probably best to stick to the recipe on here, as it only has the ingredients that are in salsa (which is allowed w/ any meal) and is also way lower in the sodium department). BUT… if you still lose well eating the organic, store-bought… then, I’d say go for it. Yours may be different than mine, anyway.
Glad we are keeping you motivated… and accountable! It really DOES help, doesn’t it!? This past 9 months of dieting was the very first time I’ve dieted with any kind of support system. It absolutely made all the difference! See Lorraine’s whip!?? JK! LOL!
Oh, and you asked… maintenance? It is going quite well, thanks! I’m enjoying the freedom of choosing different meals/combinations and cooking. I am also trying to help my teenage daughter, L. .... so THAT helps keep ME on track, too. I also purchased a new scale that I absolutely LOVE... LOVE! LOL! My new best friend! It is an Eatsmart Precision Digital - w/ extra-large backlit display w/ step-on technology. So accurate... the first time... every time. I've checked it w/ my old one that has always been accurate with the Dr.'s office. It was just sort of "temperamental" at times, but still accurate. This one is GREAT and even the little boys can use it.
Lorraine ~ Have you always had trouble sleeping or is this something new? I don't remember you mentioning it before. Maybe you should go back to the milky drink before bed? Milk and its calcium has been proven as a big help with weight loss (not that you need THAT anymore!) and warm milk before bed... my grandma used to recommend that.
Loved your diet tips list! NINE months and I NEVER saw it!!! LOL! I laughed at your #1. I have one of those huge tool boxes that I put all the “goodies” in at our house…and it has a combination padlock on it. I can “dole” them out in a healthier fashion than what kids normally choose that way! SO… With 5 kiddos, someone would always be sneaking treats and I got tired of trying to hide them…hence… the dreaded locked treat box! Well, it has turned out to come in handy for MOM too! Lol! That darned lock is so tricky to get into…I’m not even tempted to “break in”. Now, it keeps us all under control. I only open it in the presence of the begging child(ren) or on a choice weekend. With little boys and teenagers in my house, I couldn’t keep ANYTHING for more than a day or two! I buy organic (Newman’s Own) cookies when they’re on sale… those go in the box, fruit-gummies, cheesy pretzels, movie night candy, bags of chips… all… in the box! LOL! You all probably think I’m this horrible mom, now….keeping food locked up! LOL!
Oh, and your #2! Just tonight… I made that mistake and yet survived! Where I shop, they have this rolling shelf that they put discounted breads, pastries, pies, etc. on (from the bakery)....right out in the middle of the aisle.... so you HAVE to walk around it! They put items on there that are getting close to their expiration date. You know I don’t crave desserts… BUT…there is this ONE dessert that I tried once on a “choice” weekend… BAD CHOICE, by the way! NOW… whenever it is on that darn sale rack… it CALLS to me! It was $1.75 today! I actually picked it up and looked at it and put it back down. THEN… I ended up having to walk by it AGAIN! I am happy to say that I left it IN the store, though! Oh… it’s Paula Deen’s Ooey Gooey Butter Cake. Someone else told me that it is like a “chess bar”??? I’d never heard of that one. Anywaaaaayy……GIRLS....DON’T EVER…EVER buy one of those things!! Seriously…Ignorance is BLISS!!
Oh…the sweet stuff just reminded me, Lorraine. I ate my cream-filled Cadbury egg on Easter Sunday, and…welll…I have to say......I wasn’t impressed . I love the dark dove chocolate squares or the Lindt Truffles…WAY more! Anyway, now I can say I’ve tried one and I know they won’t be “calling my name” next Spring! LOL! I actually had the red bag kind that YOU bought in my Amazon cart and when I went back to complete my purchase, they were SOLD OUT! WHEW! THAT was a CLOSE one! LOL! I’m sure they’ll let me know when it’s back in stock, though.
Your #6 ~ Another PLUS to putting your bread in the freezer….or potatoes, pasta, rice, etc. Once it’s been cooked and then refrigerated/frozen and reheated (or eaten cold, like potato salad)…this increases the “resistant starch” in it, or the portion of carbohydrate that is not absorbed by the intestines (like those cannellini beans I talked about once…that I would have every veggie day). Anyway, when you increase the resistant starch, you lower the starch’s glycemic index number. SO…cook your taters the night before, fridge-em and then heat ‘em up the next day!
Oh, and I did NOT know that about the chlorine and Splenda! I’ve often wondered about our bodies absorbing it from the swimming pool and if that does any damage. Hmmm… another thing I DON’T want to know! LOL!
Almost forgot to ask…how was your day at the fun park? I HAD to google it and it looks like a super fun place! Did you ride Thunder Falls or the Viking Pirate ship? Those are my two favorite rides at our theme park. Hey… I’ve discovered where we could all meet up! The luxury cottage or the farmhouse…right near the park.... complete with your very own miniature pony to love for the week! LOL!! Enough room in those for ALL of us! Then, we could all go to the fun park! Wheee! We would be like little kids, I think! LOL! Then, we could go to Landsend too! Sound like a plan?
Ghostwrite ~ In the 170’s yet? WOW, girl! You are doing GREAT!! So glad you are still checking in and sharing with us. Hey… if you don’t mind me asking, did anything develop w/ your “love interest”? Just curious…thought maybe “he” was part of your “inspiration”?? Teehee.
Rickie ~ So… you only plan one day at a time? How do you do that with your grocery planning? Do you just choose what items from the lists that you know you’ll pick? I am a “planner”, so I’d probably have to plan out a week or so at a time. That’s just me, though. I drive myself crazy sometimes! LOL! So… how is it going for you? Did you end up weighing? Oh, and thanks for mentioning the myfitnesspal thing. I was thinking about looking for something like that …for me and for my daughter, L. Take care and enjoy your weekend getaway!
Well, it is SO TIME for BED.....actually WAY---WAY PAST time for bed (as usual)!! Night, GIRLS!!! Only 5 hours of sleep ahead of me. Good thing tomorrow (actually, "today") is Sunday!
TTYL!

splenda !!!! oh god !!!!! then what to use !!!!
wouldn't plain sugar be better considering all the health risks and survey saying sweeteners really dont make a difference in overall weight loss .....
1 tsp of brown sugar is 11 cals !!!!
plain white sugar 16 cals........
butterfly this last cycle i had done the new plan.....but now i am again moving to the old plan.....lol......

Good morning!
Well turns out that I am not at all prepared for a cycle today so I am drinking my first shakeology....gonna do the 3 shakes/salad for dinner thing...really really need it! The good news is that the cleansers gave me two BMs this morning so my tummy is not bloated at all..which is a good thing!
Butterfly...Amy is boogykosch...lol Sorry if I confused you...did you think I was going senile? She and I exchanged a few emails so I know her real name and was calling her that.
I have bad news for you...agave nectar is still sugar...no matter how you slice it. So be careful with that! I think the best thing to do is to train your tastebuds and not use sweeteners but I for instance can't....I even add splenda to my cottage cheese!
sorry to hear that your daughter is struggling this cycle...it is hard to be on a diet...I always feel like I'm in some sort of a prison! Maybe she should try my old cycle? It really doesn't feel like a diet and has some fun foods (oatmeal, sandwiches, pasta, etc)...just for variety.
I love your new avatar! You have emerged! How about PICTURES for us? How do you feel? Do you feel skinny? You must feel something!?
Zas...I'm not going to be as nice as Butterfly....I'm going to lay it out for you...the gain is not muscle gain. You have to actually BUILD muscle to gain that muscle weight. I workout a lot and I don't think that I have muscle gain...i'm not THAT muscular. Bodybuilders probably gain muscle weight...we gain fat! The only time I did not gain anything on cheat days is when I followed Lorraine's advice...any deviation and my weight shot right up. So....next cheat time try to be good..that is your downfall...you have been good on the cycles, just not off.
School starts tomorrow....we dont have school on Sundays..thank goodness b/c I can't imagine today being Monday! lol
Lorraine, what kind of park was it that you went to? how old is your grandson?
anita, how was GNO? What did you do? and what did you drink?
You guys won't believe what happened last night. We were so happy b/c the drive home was perfect, we made it in 7hrs even with a couple of stops, kids were great, everything was great. I just wanted to get home , shower and go to my comfy bed. We walked in and it was so HOT. Not like turn air conditioner on hot...it was 114degrees downstairs and even hotter upstairs..the thermostat could not read it, it was so hot. Our heater somehow malfunctioned and was on the ENTIRE WEEK that we were gone...and yes we did turn the thermostat OFF....it just went on by itself. Our floors were too hot to walk on, every candle melted, wood molding separated from the ceiling, my plants all died, anything that could've been hot and melted, did.
I took the kids to my mom's, we tried to go to my inlaws' but could not find the spare key. So we came back to our house and turned upstairs and downstairs air on and eventually it cooled off. I don't know how I was able to sleep...my bed was soooo hot but I drank my sleepytime and slept...not deep sleep but something.
It was so crazy...I don't know what happened but thank goodness the heater did not start a fire!
Well, I am off to go throw out some clothes that I don't wear...husband and I decided to clean our house and get rid of stuff that we don't use/need. I wish I had a maid today but now...I'm the maid! lol
Hey one more thing...I am so excited about my hair...yes my hair! A year ago I cut off my long hair b/c the bottom half of it (from neck down) died...just died. I think it was b/c I took steroids (I had a terrible allergic reaction to facial cream and steroids was the only thing that took the swelling away). So after months of frustration with my hair, my BFF told me that I need to cut it off and I did...I have always had long hair and for me it was crazy but I did it.
Well I have been taking hair vitamins for over a year and my hair is growing but oh so slow..it never grew fast to begin with. Well recently I was thinking that maybe I need to look for something else and in my search, I found horsetail and excellent reviews for it. I ordered a bottle a few weeks ago. I have naturally curly hair but with it being short and all the straightening I've done, it's just not the same.
All of a sudden I noticed that my hair is longer and fuller..it's crazy! And it feels like my old hair. I really really think it's the horsetail vitamins. So....if anyone has hair issues...look into that! I can't wait for my hair to grow a few more inches...I have layers that really need to grow out..
Anyway guys, I hope everyone is having a great Sunday. I am finishing up my shake and going to go purge of my stuff...I can't wait to have that 'clean' feeling in my house!

Elina - Thank goodness your house didn't catch on fire!! That is super scary. Glad to hear you guys had a great vacation. Last night was fun we did some bar hoping in the downtown area. I was supposed to be the designated driver but ended up drinking after my girlfriend that has been a downer since BF and I started dating really upset me. I bypassed the girly drinks and drank rum and coke and a few tequila shots She ended up leaving early and my cousin came down and took my place as the designated driver. I will never understand how some women can be so nasty for no reason.
Butterfly - Glad to hear your headache is gone. I suffer from migraines as well and I haven't had one in a little over a year but the last one was a doozy as I ended up in the ER. I think offering "L" an old menu like Elina suggested might help her out. YaY for hubby!
Lorraine - Hope you enjoyed your day with the boys. I read an article the other day that said taking a cold bath an hour before bed helps with insomnia. I would offer you a membership jacket for the "Insomnia Club" but I'm selfish and don't want any other members in my club so hopefully this will go away soon
Zas - I agree with Elina when it comes to your choice weekends. Just because we can doesn't always mean we should. We can do this we just have to learn how to do things in moderation on our cheat days. We've been over this before....if you quit then I quit and dang it I don't wanna quit Luv You Zasie
Danielle - Glad to hear your BF made it back from Colorado safely. I just read an article today where a pedophile was laughing in a Colorado court and the judge said "If your laughing now stay tuned, you deserve every century that I'm about to give you....he gave him 576 years Check in here from time to time and good luck getting everything done.
Groovy - Great job on your run!!
Amy - I'm definitely keeping my BF under lock and key When is your final weigh day?
Eva - how is your weekend going?
I am having a end a friendship lunch with my girlfriend in a bit. You know its time to end things when all you can think about is punching the other person in the face Later this evening we are going to the Twinkies cheer banquet which has a hollywood theme. Today I'm really missing BF for some reason Time to go get ready for lunch!! I will come back this evening, that is if I'm not in jail jk jk jk jk jk
Have a great day everyone, Stay POP!
