I just found some amazing frozen yogurt today :yum: It's called "Chapman's Nanaimo Bar frozen yogurt." It has custard flavored frozen yogurt with brownies, Chocolate coconut crunch, and a chocolate ribbon. I think I have just found my dream dessert. I would definitely recommend it to all you chocolate lovers out there

Hi,there. It`s my 1st day today on FL4I.As it is my day off, there is no problem to eat what is on my list, but at work i will try to fit with fruits and nuts, cos i can take with.Otherwise im happy.Water is no problem for me and 1st time in all my diet history i had no hunger after 2 hours after eating.so i had next meal after 4 h.

I have questions maybe somebody can answer:look,i choosed sausage links, but again, because of work if i dont get,can i eat insted a piece of lean pork?Cos i thought sausage is not mentioned only made from chicken or turkey,so it could be also pork sausage,but....on list is no pork at all.so...may i or may i not???? and then--how about chewing gums?sugar free.i hope that is ok to use?

thank you for answers and sorry about gramatic mistakes:grin:

hi sugarslave~yes, pork sausage is fine...or lean pork. you need to stick to the meal plan or this won't work...as far as when you go to work, if you can pack a cooler with the meals you can eat at work and then pick the meals that work best to prepare when you go home. i do chew sugarless gum and i don't think it changes the results. other's may not agree and hopefully will give their opinion about gum.
good luck...love the name...me too...a slave to sugar.

Kitty - I know what you mean... my wardrobe is getting slimmer, but I am not. :tongue:  I started a cycle again today, and had eggs and shrimp (one of my fave breakfasts on the diet).  I am sick of not sticking with a complete cycle.  Let's see how good we can be this time.

Norswede - Although sticking to the diet 100% gives us the best results, if you must substitute, just make sure it is something similar and you should be ok.

Hi :cat:....crack out your favorite teas...and if needs be...buy some dessert flavored ones for the "sweet tooth"  I find the dessert flavored ones very nice when I want the real thing....it may not be tiramisu or creme brulee ...but better than digging into the real thing..lol  I also find that a cup of mint tea turns off "sweet" hunger for me. Have a good cycle...you are off to a good start!  And it is great that it is fruit season as your fruit day will be better than winter time pickings! If you have a break down....dip a few strawberries in unsweetened cocoa powder and top with coolwhip...a cheat.... but not the worst type...as in "cake toppers"

Webfairy!  Have a GREAT cycle too!  You are so inventive with your selections so I know you will manage to make it seem like you are not dieting:tongue::thumbsup:  Nothing feels better than joining THE SISTERHOOD OF THE LOOSE PANTS...heeeheee....hang in there Girlie! Hugs:rose:

Hi Everyone!  It looks like the board is pretty quiet this week, myself included.  I've had way too many challenging days.  I helped one of my daughters move over the weekend and I had been working very hard, so when it came time to eat, I ate what everyone else was eating.  Not the best choices as one of them was :pizza: and of course I told myself it was ok because I was working hard...wrong...not a good enough reason!  The past few days I've been trying to stay on track and doing pretty good - not so much with water though - gosh, I have the hardest time with that.:crying:  I don't know if that's ever going to change about me - it's been that way ALL my life, it's like I just rarely ever get thirsty and of course that's not a good sign to drink only when thirsty because it's a sign of dehydration.  Water and DeeDee just don't mix! LOL  With the cool weather around the corner...I'm doomed!!!  Look at all these nasty little faces popping up - how about this one?

DEEDEE- I totally get what you said about water. I have a love hate relationship with it as well. I love what it's doing for my body, skin and hair but I hate the taste or should I say lack of taste. I have to pretty much force myself to drink it. But I'm trying to be an obedient dieter and I probably average around 6-8 glasses of water a day. I don't know how anyone can get 10 in there. Well anyway, it sounds like you're doing great. Just keep taking it day by day. That's what I'm doing and it's worked so far:grin:

Deedee & Norswede - I used to HATE water... rarely every drank it before I started FatLoss4Idiots. :nono: But for the last couple years I drink it everyday.  What helped me to start out is to squeeze some lemon in it.  Not only does it give it a little flavor, but the lemon is a great detoxifier, so we are doing two good things for our bodies.

Norswede & Webfairy...thanks for your input as it helps to know I don't stand alone on this.  I do the penny in the shot glass thing and it does help keep count and now I'm going to give the lemon a chance.  I know it's really good for the body - my girls are telling me this all the time, they can't seem to get enough of the stuff and I wished I had just 1/4 the desire they have!  At any rate, I'll just keep hammering away at it - one glass at a time!

Hi Kitty,

I'm with you- I'm starting a new cycle today. Summer really messed me up. My first cycle which i had started on Aug 23 was ruined by Labor Day Weekend.  my family and i went on vacation out of town. We went to a parade, rodeo and the county fair. Family and I overate. Now that the kids are in school I can focus on the diet and exercise and quiet time to myself which i desperately need.

DEEDEE and  NORSWEDE i agree with WEBFAIRY to add a lemon or lemon juice to water is good  solution.i use it as well when i get tired of plain water. In cold weather just add lemon to hot water and sweetener(whatever you use )and it is like tee sweet and sour mix-good taste and liquid what we need .

It also must be hard there in where you live-i mean states.have not been there myself but so far i know food is everywehre sold in big amounts and that tempting one(most of times not healthy as well)i dont know if that would be also easy for me,if i walked street and saw :pizza:,burgers and all things which put you in to temptation:dizzy:.Im personally fighting against pastries and cakes this is my weakest point, but if honest at end of 4th day i still dont want them!!!!!what a wonder!!!i know probably i will have some on my days off,but now im so satisfied with food that i even forget about them.

anyway...i admire your strong will and i wish you to stay on track because we all know it is worth it:wink:

Web~i find it strange how when i first started this plan over 2 yrs ago to lose 30 lbs, how disciplined i was...now i need to lose 8 and i am struggling with my meals.
but, i will keep trying....

Sugarslave...you are absolutely correct, the food is endless here in the states!!  The temptation can some times get the best of us, but we must stay strong.  I'm going to try the lemon and I hope it works for me - thanks for your nice words of encouragement.  Sweet cakes and cookies are my biggest food concern.  I would rather eat sweet things than eat a nice meal - I have been that way ever since I was a little girl and my mother would scold me all the time about it.  My name should be Sugarslave II after yours!!!  Oh my goodness, the things we all seem to have in common and I guess that is why we are on this diet together!:dizzy:

Kitty...I see we were writing at the same time!  I had to take off 25 back then, but I had gained it all back and have to take it off AGAIN!  I'm going a lot slower this go around, but I'm at 15 and 10 to go.  I'm going to chalk it up to being 2 yrs older and with every year it gets more difficult to lose.  I'm happy with the loss, and I hope when I reach goal I will do better at keeping it off than before.  I have a class reunion to go to next September and I hope to look my best - gee, imagine that - not wanting your old friends seeing you with extra spare tires!! hahaha  Well, that's the scoop my friend.

Sugar....The Wooden Shoe(I think it is the name?) by the park...hot fudge sundaes(dames blanche) and cakes....yes I can imagine:yum:  But it was the raclette and fondue that I miss and the wonderful sausages.

I cooked chicken breasts :chicken:in salsa  and cumin then pulled them into pieces and served over shredded lettuce with some grated cheddar cheese....yummy almost soft tacos.

SUGARSLAVE,SUNSHINE & DEEDEE- I definitely love my sugar as well but on this diet I've learned to appreciate other forms of sugar. For instance. Quite often on this diet we are allowed fruit which is like candy if you eat it when it's ripe. Secondly, a couple times a cycle we get to have frozen yogurt. I was shocked to find how much better frozen yogurt actually tastes than ice cream. To me it seems creamier and has more flavor. There are so many kinds to choose from. So far I've bought raspberry, chocolate and nanaimo bar. They were all amazing. Last of all, we always have our cheat weekends to satisfy any cravings we weren't able to satisfy during the week. And I don't recommend using too much artificial sweetener. It's worse for you than sugar is. I heard about a natural no-calorie sweetener that's made mostly from orange peels and it's supposed to taste just like sugar. I just can't remember what it's called. If anyone knows the name of it could you please let me know? I find that I'm actually eating more sugar than I used to and actually losing weight!. If you think about it we are given the opportunity to eat sugar about 8 times in an 14 day cycle! (including the cheat weekend) 2 of those days are frozen yogurt and 3 are whatever sweets we want. You aren't going to find any other diet that offers that. That's why I find this diet so easy to stick to

Hi All,

I have been following this board for a little while.  I started FL4I last week (starting day 10 this morning).  You are all so inspirational and seem real, unlike so many boards where there are clearly "plants" going on about ridiculous amounts of weight lost on various diets, no struggles, no dissatisfaction, it just fell right off. You all seem so supportive that I wanted to join in.

I have not been one of those people who have been overweight all their life.  My weight crept up over the past 3-4 years, all in the middle where I have never even had a roll (pear shaped), and I feel very self conscious about it.  I stand around with my arms crossed over my stomach at the bus stop, etc., but the muffin top is circumferencial so don't think I'm fooling anyone LOL!  I have tried several diets, maintained myself successfully for years on Atkins but kids, soccer, and eating meals on the go and the weight crept up.  I started to join in yesterday, but after weighing myself and only losing 1 lb. so far, I just cried and cried and couldn't sit down to type.

I walk almost every day, have followed the diet exactly thus far, found it very easy to follow (except fruit day lol) but have not had nearly as much success as some of you.  I have about 50 lbs. to lose, am drinking the water, take no medications and still not much happening   Looking forward to the 3 cheat days but don't have anything in particular I just have to have, just looking forward to the freedom of choice.  I can't believe how not hungry I feel on this diet.  I am making myself eat 4 meals, so I don't think I am overeating since I am eating just til satisfied.  Anyway, I hope I have better success on cycle #2 and don't gain back weight during cheat days.

Thank you all for letting me introduce myself and situation.  I look forward to losing with you all!

Welcome Icr!  Don't worry....it can take time for your body to get used to burning body fat for fuel instead of  dietary carbs and sugar...which are easier to burn.   Your body WILL catch on:grin:  Keep doing the right things and the right things will begin happening to you!  Weigh first thing day 12 and let us know your losses...OK?
   Are you taking a fiber supplement? (some retain food in the gut because of all the protein and cheese....it usually disappears as our bodies adjust...but many here take some sort of supplement to keep things moving...lol This can cause the scale to not move)  Is it possible that hormonal shifts are a causing temporary stall of the scale?(hormonal changes can hide the losses because of water retention) Did you weigh first thing in the AM after going to the bathroom and before dressing?  Are you overeating salty nuts on this plan? Use sea salt on your foods and not regular salt...it will help.  Try some green tea...it can help  speed losses.  Some find a teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar...Braggs is best... in a glass of water before meals helps speed losses too.  It is GREAT that you are already not feeling hungry and are enjoying this plan!!  Your body likes eating this way!  Be sure to take measurements of chest, waist, hips, thighs and arms....you will be surprised to see losses of fat even when the scale is not moving!!!  We experience clothing size changes more quickly than with other plans...so choose a too snug outfit and try it on after  each cycle.  Do NOT let the scale be your boss!  Scales can vary and be off!! This week someone weighed a suitcase on my scale and it has been off!  My husband(who is very stable in weight) weighed himself and said...what is up with the scale??  Now if I only went by the scale reading I would have thought I had gained three pounds!!
You have lost 0ne pound already:shooting_star:...so you are moving in the right direction and not gaining...you WILL lose....do not over eat on choice days....and keep doing cycles.  I lost about 2 pounds some cycles....some cycles it was more...and a few it was less.  I am petite so the weight did not come off as fast as some of the bigger gals...and my hormones were off... from beginning the "change of life":dizzy:.  I DID reach my goal and am very slim now!  Do NOT give up!:thumbsup:

Nors...great thoughts...thanks for sharing!!  Yes, artificial sweeteners can actually cause weight gain because some of us have an insulin response even to the fake stuff and this will cause a gain...and hunger too!  I am so glad that you are adjusting and finding the plan  very doable.  I am confident you will accomplish your goal with your great attitude and commitment!

lcr~welcome!! There are plenty of us that are slow losers here...love your attitude about the next cycle. Just a reminder, make sure you eat until satisfied, not full. It's easy to eat too many nuts. some people think that is what causes low results. so, give the next cycle a go and see what happens. we are here for you if you have other questions...you might on your weekend only have one cheat meal, if your worried about regaining back. then make a new meal plan for cycle 2!!

lcr...welcome, welcome to our happy forum!!!  As you can see, there are people here from all over the world as well as perhaps in your own area.  We are here to support, advise, encourage and listen to whatever one needs to or is willing to share.  We all try to give the best possible advice we can as we know it, and you will see in most cases our responses are somewhat the same as we move forward.  This diet does work in any case senerio as long as you follow what is perscribed.  We all get discouraged from time to time and that's an honest fact, but we shout it out here and here is where we get the help and encouragement we need - we understand where you are coming from, we are all in the same boat.

Bottom line is - do not feel defeated as others have experienced the same first results.  You CAN do this and you will be happy you stayed with it.  One more thing, be careful on your cheat days - drink your water, eat small portions of what your "cheat" is and be mindful of the other guidelines of the diet.  Good Luck, stay strong!:clover:

Hi Kitty and DeeDee and thanks so much for the warm welcome and words of encouragement!!!  I knew I would find support here!

I expected my results to be on the slow side since I self-diagnosed myself with PCOS and/or insulin resistance, they seem to go hand in hand, and both make it almost impossible to lose weight.  The docs would tell me to try weight watchers or exercise harder, eat better, low fat. They didn't seem to get I was keeping a calorie diary and no way was I over eating , but insulin resistance doesn't care about calories so much as carbs. One actually asked me all the right questions to see if I might be hypothyroid but did not test when I didn't even have a single symptom of that.  Started researching and had nearly every symptom of PCOS/insulin resistance as well as family history, which is the greatest predictor if you will get it. Not a clinical diagnosis, but too many symptoms to ignore. Since the only treatment seems to be losing weight (or a couple of meds with bad side effects), don't really see a need for the doc to confirm and tell me that, esp with their prior advice about weightloss.

I was hoping for 3 to 4 pounds, but I still have day 10 & 11 to go, so maybe it will happen!  I am so excited to be taking control again, understanding why I struggle to lose every single pound, and really happy to be actually paying attention to what I am putting in my mouth   I will get my weight back to where it should be, come heck or high water - ha ha.  I didn't measure first, but my clothes feel the same, so probably no big inches lost.  I think my body is still trying to hold on to evey ounce, so I will trick it with the cycling and see how I do next cycle.  Still think this is the BEST diet, lots of fresh fruits & veggies.  I printed my menu and have been keeping track of everything I am eating, the time I'm eating, making "tick" marks for each glass of water, so I know it will eveentually work!

I will definitely watch the cheat days, don't want to go backwards!  Thank you both for the suggestions.  Can't wait until morning of day 12 to see if I've lost any more.  Will let you all know how I do :apple:

Kitty...I didn't go to the taste this year, it was the weekend my daughter moved and I was working with her.  It's always a good time there, but the prices did go to $3 this year.  Oh well, no suprise when everything else is sky high.  My reunion is 50th, so I have a few years on you girlfriend!!!!!!!  I don't mind - a person is only as young as they feel and I must say and thank God, I feel great!!  I might even look great by next year!  The trick is keeping it off once I reach goal, that was the problem last time and now hope I'm a little wiser in how to deal with it.

Sunshine...you always have great technical answers to give the newbies - and I always love reading what you have to say!  Good job on your explanation to lcr.

Hi Sunshine (like the name)!  I didn't see your post and responded to Kitty and DeeDee, don't want to leave anyone out.  I will answer your questions so maybe someone will see if I am doing something wrong.

I am not taking a fiber supplement, but with the fruit & didn't pick cheese this time, (have 0 sweet tooth so hardly ever ate fruit before, mostly a lot of veggies) I seem to be having the opposite problem than everyone else, too many trips to the bathroom, sorry if TMI, LOL!  I definitely believe I have hormonal issues.  Wrote about PCOS/insulin resistance in another note, which both cause all sorts of hormonal disturbances.  Losing the weight is supposed to help get them back in line .  I read about the vinegar when researching the PCOS/insulin thing.  It is supposed to help you unlock your fat stores which, if your insulin is out of whack, will not let your body burn so maybe worth a try.

I used to weight myself daily first thing when I got up before I dressed, so did the same again this time.  I told myself I was going to wait until I finished 1st cycle but was just too curious.  I still have to finish today and tomorrow, so it may change some, but I like what you said about not letting the scale be the boss!  Also, like the idea about trying on tighter clothes and seeing how they fit.  I know I should measure, but I'm afraid of what my waist size is now :crying:  Before kids, I had a 22 in. waist and after about 24.  Now I just don't want to know until the bulge is down a little.  I will be able to tell if I am losing inches there just by the way my pants are fitting, but maybe I will measure arms, bust, etc.  Anytime a number goes down, lbs. or inches, it is a good thing, right!

Like you, I am rather petite and I was disappointed about only losing a pound, but you are right, the scale is moving in the right direction (for a change) :ribbon:!

I am glad to have found this board.  I think you all will certainly help me from becoming discouraged:thumbsup: (sorry, love these little icons, ha, ha, ha).

Anyway, I will keep you posted & let you know how things look on day 12.  I will keep my 3 days' worth of selections very reasonable.  I do not like sweet things a whole lot, take coffee black and tea unsweet (good idea about the tea too), don't really drink sodas, even diet.  Just would love a pulled pork BBQ sand, but will opt for the platter to not have the bread.

Thank you all for your support!  I will keep you posted.

Hi Icr...love your positive attitude...it will take you through the ups and downs of dieting:tongue::thumbsup:

Hey All!
As far as measuring...actually the waist is the MOST IMPORTANT measurement...lol:grin:  It is the one that determines our BMI and health.  You may want to bite the bullet and just take it...remember...this a temporary:shock: number that will soon be dropping:smile:!!  If you can't bear to know:nono:...then don't...but it will be the best measurement of your success in the end!  It is the hidden visceral fat layer  around our organs which is very hormonally and biologically active...under the muscle, not the belly fat over the muscle....that is our greatest source of hormonal and health problems.  It is not the fat you can grab but the enlarging waist size that gives it away.

Welcome lcr!  You have found a great resource here in the forum.  We are fortunate to have people like Sunshine, who is a wealth of knowledge and advice.  Weight loss can be difficult for some, so the biggest piece of advice I can share is to hang in there until you find your "groove".  Each of our bodies are different and respond differently to different things.  I lost weight pretty fast in a short amount of time on this diet in 2008.  Now, at 52 years old, I am having a heck of a time.  I have an appointment with my doc today and I am going to request bloodwork to test my hormone levels, as I KNOW I have a big issue with them at this time.  It's like you get to a certain age (and it varies) and out of the blue a big "hormone hand" comes out of the sky and smacks you down.  I had no idea what this menopausal stuff was going to be like.  I have friends who sailed through it and others who needed HRT or they would go whacko.  Hopefully I am not at the :shock:whack stage, but I don't feel like myself :confused:and having a few problems at the moment.  But I am determined to get back to quasi "normal".  I just bought the book "The Hormone Diet" as I think I need to try some of those approaches at the moment.  The author, Natasha Turner is a naturopathic doctor and I feel comfortable with trying what I can do naturally to make my body work the way it should, before resorting to any type of drugs.  I know people my age and younger who take a handful of pills everyday and that freaks me out!  I don't want to be OLD and falling apart.  Ever!  I take a thyroid pill right now for my hypothyroidism, but that is it.  Many of us are at that age and what worked before may not work as well now.  We have to work with what we have, ladies.  So keep trying and do not get discouraged.  We have to take care of ourselves and our health is most important.  Like Sunshine was explaining about the belly fat, it is important to understand what is going on with our bodies and how it can affect us.  It can be scary not knowing what is happening to our body (and mind!) as we age.  But it is not scary if we understand why it is happening, so we can work to correct it.   So hang in there everyone.  It doesn't matter how many people pass us up on the way to finish line.  It only matters that we make it to the finish line.   Hugs to my diet buddies!

Icr welcome!!!Good to have more and more people joining this forum and finding this diet as best sutable as other diets.i have also never been overweight. Max what i ever had on my 170cm was 72kg(dono in inches and pounds)but then i felt so awfull, ugly from inside and nothing fit me anymore. Then i lost weight put on lost again put on again and it was over 10 years like that.Last summer i dropped it to 56kg with all famous weight watchers, but somehow i never managet to keep it for long time, cos,i started to treat me with all that food i should avoid.Of course i tried to loose again and was wondering why it dont works for me anymore!!!????The KEY or SECRET CODE i just FOUND OUT NOW.Diet itself was good but....allways low fat,no limit on allowed food eatings and no explanation of how should drink water correct.Look,if I was drinking 500ml like at once nearly ,it probably streched my stomach and if i after would eat vegetables it blowed me up, so i had actually heavy feeling and like still hungry. What i have learned just by reading eHandbook from FL4I and experienced in my 5 days(my first round now)---i drink small amounts of water but often like split on all day. This does not cause any stomach changes and before eating i dont drink about 30 before.Second good thing i realized--this diet makes you satisfied after every meal and with every eating your stomach gets smaller(i guess)while there is limitation of food and no more low fat meals.I can really eat good cheese, nuts, fish and dont worry i get fat.

You just keep doing and it will work---IT WILL WORK!

I enjoyed reading your post! You have learned so much in one cycle already to insure your successfully following this way of eating for life!  Real food...no diet food...no hunger....no measuring or counting points or carbs or fats etc!  Very simple but it works.

Hi webfairy, I sure do know what you mean about those hormones!  Yes, much harder losing now than even a few years ago.  I used to just eat a salad every day for lunch for a week, was careful about what I ate for dinner, and would drop the weight without changing much else.  Now, just not so, but I also know for a fact that my hormones are totally out of kilter. I have enough of a family history and symptoms myself to know I am insulin resistant (prediabetic) and going down that road really scares me because of so many other health related issues associated with diabetes, so I will try my best to get the weight off, although my condition makes it really difficult.  Just knowing that there is a reason I have struggled so long with so little result and the physiology behind what is going on in my body gives me a certain piece of mind.  I mean, when the docs keep saying you are just not trying hard enough, my goodness, don't they understand how deflated you get when you have been doing everything they say, bring in your diet notebook with eveything recorded, even a 5 cal. breath mint accounted for, go over how much exercise your are doing and they just say try harder?  Well, at least I know the carbs are more important now, which is exactly opposite of what they were telling me - calories in versus calories burned is the only way to lose weight.

I love the line about maybe not getting to the finish line first but just get to it:tongue:  For the sake of my health, self esteem and sense of accomplishment, I will get there - YES!!!

sugarslave, I know exactly what you mean about feeling ugly and nothing fitting anymore. I am doing my best to change myself back to the person who doesn't feel the need to cross her arms over her stomach to hide her belly bulge!  I can do this.  WE can do this!!!  I never tried WW, much to the docs dismay, but I am worn out from reading so many labels and counting calories, just couldn't do another diet where I had to count something.  I feel really satisfied on FL4I!  Not hungry, eating more appropriate portions than I used to.  I am drinking the water kind of steadily throughout the day too. Sticking with it will be the key for me because I will lose, it will just take a little while longer than some.  I am hoping that the weightloss will start to speed up a little with cycle 2, but even if it doesn't, as long as I am losing and not gaining, I will make it

Norswede...you are absolutely right about the frozen yogurt - that is the one sure thing that keeps my sweet tooth from driving me insane!!!!!!!!  I love the stuff, simply love it!!  As for the sweetner, there are a few new ones on the market, but the one you speak of being from orange peels sounds interesting.  I wonder if it would make things have an orange taste to them?

Sugarslave...the nice thing about this diet is when you eat the proper foods it does cut down on the idea of eating sweets - I do not crave them like I use to, but as I mentioned above the frozen yogurt does help me even more.

Wow...there is just so much great information on the board!!  I'm going to have to take notes and jot down these good ideas!  Lemons, vinegar, grapefruit - I'm working on it!!:dizzy:  I feel for all you gals that are having hormonal issues:sad: - it can be a real problem.  I've been there done that and so glad that part of my life is over!!  It does get better if that's any consolation.

Winelvr, Sugarslave & lcr...you each have such a wonderful positive attitude at this point and I simply want to say again - welcome to this "comfort zone" and I truly wish you all the very best in taking on your new adventure!!  Treating it as an adventure makes it fun and interesting - don't you think?

Have a great weekend everyone and those of us who are on free days - here's:beer: to a very satisfying one!!!

SUGARSLAVE- Thanks  I'm pretty sure that stevia is the sweetener I was thinking about. I hope I can find some. I already know how to make some fat free desserts and now I will be able to make them sugar free as well without worrying about the dangerous chemicals that are in artificial sweeteners. I can't wait until my cheat days to try them out. Thanks again.

Nors...I looked up the new sweetener you mentioned. It is made from orange peels and chicory!!  It is called Just Like Sugar.   It sounds like a very good alternative to sugar and is fine for diabetics.  I have not seen it in the stores yet but I will look for it.  It has  been tested for chemicals and comes out clean so that is good...it is all natural unlike some that claim to be...(splenda, equal etc...ugh)

Norswede & Sunshine...Just-Like-Sugar can be found at Whole Foods Market, which are also located in Canada.  It does sound like a nice alternative to other sweeteners.

Hi All,

Well, it is the morning of day 12 and I am checking in as promised.  I weighed myself this morning and . . . drumroll . . . I have lost a total of 3 lbs.!!!!!!!!   I know this doesn't sound like a whole lot, but I weighed myself first thing the morning of day 10 and had only lost 1 lb., so that means I lost a pound a day for day 10 and 11!!!  I am giving myself a :ribbon: LOL!  I am thrilled  with the results.

Since I still have much of the "diet" food around, I will plan on sticking pretty closely with the plan for my 3 cheat days.  My hubby and kids have been patiently waiting for these days off to go out for Mexican, so will order chicken fajitas and just eat the chicken & veggies, no tortillas or rice, maybe a little of the refried beans since they are pintos.  The only other thing I want is some pulled pork BBQ with slaw :yum: YUM! I will make that myself so I know exactly what will go into it and I had some delicious slaw at a restaurant a while back prepared with more of a vinagarette dressing instead of a mayo based dressing, so will hit the internet to look for a good recipe for that and no hamburger roll, just the BBQ and slaw.  Otherwise, I am pretty happy with the food I have been having so far and I feel so much better overall that I really have no desire to stray too far off track.   Looking forward to cycle 2 to see if my body is now in "burn fat" mode LOL

I will take my measurments, including waist (thanks Sunshine, your are right - it will be a great reward to see how far I've come in the end) and then ask my teenage daughter to hide my scale in her bedroom - the BLACK HOLE ha, ha, ha - where I will not have access to it to until the next cycle is over

I have really enjoyed "talking" with all of you and look forward to continuing our journey together!  Cheers :sun:

Icr.....A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!!:shooting_star::shooting_star::shooting_star::shooting_star::shooting_star::shooting_star::shooting_star::shooting_star: You actually lost the three pounds over the 11 days...it finally registered on the scale the last three days....it often works that way....some have even had as much as 7 pounds show up in one day!! (they must have lost the water weight that day....that was  hiding their loss)  You are doing great and your Choice Days sound like a good plan!

Hi Jane! Good going on no gains!

Kitty...how are you doing?

Beautiful day in the desert...it has finally cooled down nicely.  With the colbalt blue skies and the red rock cliffs in front of my home.... the view is so stunning!

Doing an Open House...our home has been on the market 22 months and we really want that buyer to come soon!:rainbow: You can see our home at deserthouse.info   It is  such a special place and we have enjoyed our years here.  Time to downsize and move on....someone else will be blessed as we were!

SS~hi, i'm fine, diet not going so fine...starting again on monday...just pulled up the site for your house....Can you just sell me your kitchen???? wow!!!!
I was just listening today to ric edelman...a financial guy and he was saying the reason houses aren't selling is because the buyer bids too low and the seller is asking too much...now i know you have come down, we just need those bidder to bid higher. i will continue to pray that soon things will turn around for you!!
