Shaywin... Sorry to hear you are still under the weather . Yes,cold/flu medications can cause water retention for sure! So can the histamine release from having a cold...that is why your nose and eyes are puffy, sinuses stuffy etc. Also if you are having salty soup. It is hard to lose weight when you are sick. Just hang in there and hopefully your losses will all show up at once when you are better! We've seen that happen many times...if you keep going even though you are not seeing a change in the scale yet. Zeva has had some big drops in her weight all in one day after a stall.

I had banana milkshake along with my chicken/cheese combo today. I skipped the chicken and made that banana dip i mentioned a while back with cream cheese, splenda and vanilla extract. This time I added strawberry/guava jam. It tasted soooo sinful!
It was worth every calorie lol.
I know by tomorrow I'll have fluctuated, so i'm not weighing in till Nov. 12 since this cycle will be cut to 10 days this time.

BAD NEWS - I was a BAD bad girl last night... OPS! #%@&! little snicker bars staring at me from across the room...
But I'm not gonna let that ruin the rest of this cycle...

Jodice...good for you...proud of you avoiding the scale...snickers bars happen ...get rid of the Halloween candy...it is such a trap!!! Last year there were lots of posts of down falls until we all decided to get rid of the rest!
Missy...hope to see you back soon! Great to have you with us.
I am doing a DG cycle started Monday...I gained a few pounds in the last two weeks and want to nip the "Fall Fluff" in the bud(or butt ) I think it is easy to add some warm weather comfort foods and mine need to be soup and baked apples...not carbville and candy...lol

Good morning! I lost 8 lbs this cycle. Without counting the CD's gain, I have lost 13 lbs in 2 cycles. I am already prepared for Monday! 
I went to the doctor & I have to continue with the antibiotics for another 30 days & see what happens after that. Since I have cottage cheese & milk listed for next menu. I will be having chobani nonfat vanilla greek yogurt which has the probiotics Sunshine recommended (thanks again SS! ) in place of the cottage cheese for now...

When I get a cheese/fruit salad combo, I usually dip some fruits I'd use for a fruit salad. Yesterday I pretty much had it straight. Still wonderful and I'm down about 1/2 lb.
Sunshine, I posted the recipe last week when I had it with fruit salad. When you use it with banana milkshake just add your favorite jam/jelly.

Jodice - Good attitude. Keep looking forward! The best way to avoid those cheats is to NOT have them in your home. I know if you have other people you live with, it may be hard, but at least keep them OUT OF SITE. I don't really care one way or the other for sweets, most of the time, but if there is chocolate or any sweet that I happen to like anywhere remotely near me, chances are I will have some. So prevention is the best cure. 
DrkNgil - WOOHOO! You are doing awesome, losing another 8 pounds! Congratulations! I am sooooo addicted to Greek yogurt. Once you have that, it is sooo hard to go back to regular. 
Omayra - Keep it going!

Thanks Jodice! I know it is soooooooo hard not to cheat!! But something that helps me are these inspirational sayings:
"Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels"
and
"Do not give up what you want most for what you want at the moment"
This motivates me everytime I have the temptation to cheat, and trust me...I have a lot of those moments! Just think that you will have 3 days that you can indulge yoursef a little! If you do fall into "temptaion" just don't give up!!

Hello and hugs to SS, Web, kitty, Cubs and all the other long-timers. I've been thinking of you all. Just wanted to let anyone with any doubts about FL4I know that come Dec 15 it'll be 2 years since I started this eating plan... and my weight is still totally under control. Cubs... remember that inflatable t-shirt? Gone.
Listen up, you guys. You eat 4-5 until-satisfied meals per day, get your water in, and even if a maple butter tart gets the better of you now and then, there's a long arc - years if you want - which makes it impossible for your body to pack on the pounds. I could not have lost 30lbs without this plan, nor learned how to happily maintain. I get strange looks at work... "is that all you're having?" They don't realize. Before I fill my plate, I have a mental image of my stomach being about as big as my fist. Even if I'm not eating exactly what the specific meal calls for, I load up with plenty of food to fill that fist. But no more. And it works every time.

Well, today I deviated at church like every Friday when they have a potluck. The meal theme today was "finger foods".
I had a slice of pizza, 2 little fried things that looked like eggrolls but all I know was they were local food, 2 Asian style meatballs, a cupcake, an oatmeal cookie and a piece of chocolate cake.
Tomorrow I'm back on the horse. I have 2 wonderful carb meals to look forward to. I get fruit salad/cheese as a combo so I'm going to try that cream cheese dip/dessert but with bananas and pineapples. I wish I had strawberries but I wasn't able to buy any more this week. I'm sure it'll still be yummy.
My next carb meal will be fro-yo and the orange/pinapple smoothie. I'll be adding some bananas, and pineapples to some fro-yo at the yogurt shop.
Still not weighing in till day 12. Turns out I dont have to cut my diet short after all. I've been counting the days one by one and next Thursday would be day day 11 for me. 
When my husband comes back for R&R the following week, I'm just going to follow the plan loosely since he'll be here for 15 days.

Omayra....I am sooooooooooooo happy for you that your DH will be home from the front for two weeks R & R. The kids will enjoy having daddy home! Have a sitter lined up to give you two some time alone also!
You'll have to put the kiddos to bed early and make another one of your special candle light  meals. Your last one before he deployed sounded exceptional!

Yay, it's the weekend! For all the FFFs, have a great time on your CDs, but remember your accomplishments on this last cycle, and keep your food choices in moderation. Our goal is to get to our goal, so try not to make it longer than it has to be. Right? When we are on the diet long term (months+) we have to tweak it at times to make it workable for us. That is totally understandable. But discipline is very important. I can say this from experience. I feel the longer we string out the weight loss process, the more chance of giving up. Dedicate yourself to this one goal and see it through. You will be so proud of yourself and feel nothing short of wonderful. Once you are on maintenance you will get the hang of "balance". Our weight fluctuates daily. We can't change that. How are clothes fit, as Sunshine has pointed out numerous times, is the best way to gauge our weight... NOT the scale. I just felt like bringing this up again in case anyone is feeling like "YAY... CD days are binge days!". NOT SO! Enjoy, just not too much!
I know it is a tad early, but Thanksgiving is slowly approaching and I have an idea. We have about 3 weeks, so why don't we post either what we are thankful for, or what our favorite Thanksgiving memory is? If it goes over well, we can do a "what is your favorite Christmas memory" next month. Anyone game? I know this is does not seem to have anything to do with weight loss, but that is the reason for the Nonfat Chat thread. We share with each other and extend the bond... getting to know each other better. I can speak for myself in saying that I have met some of the most wonderful people here who I keep in touch with on a more personal basis. And in the end, I do believe this does have to do with our weight loss journey. It can help to keep us on track, motivated and inspired, just with our personal relationships here on the forum. So if you are interested, please post your thoughts here...

I have it all planned out. My current sitter will most likely still be working her regular schedule with me and a another very close friend will be sitting for really special occasions.

Hi, all...Omayra, I'm tacking this onto yours for entry. Actually, something funny--I was reading about what you ate at the potluck church meal..pizza, eggrolls, cake, and I began reading your next paragraph. I thought I read "Tomorrow I'm having a horse." I didn't know if that meant you were still REALLY hungry, or what! Then of course I re-read it correctly.
Anyway, just reporting in.
I completed my first 11 Day cycle, with about a 6 pound loss. I'm very happy with that. Yesterday was day 1 of the 3-day interim. I totally threw all rules overboard, such as 4 meals, the space between, only eat till satisfied...I ate whole bunches of ice cream and cookies, and a half pound of pasta.
Of course it made me feel really #%@&! physically. And I went and bought fruit to make sure I'd have some in the apartment for day 2. What happily surprised me was that waking up today I really wanted to get back to health and moderation. Generally those sugar-starch-fat binges self-perpetuate. The trigger is pulled, and I'm off to the races. But yay, I ate fruit, yogurt, cottage cheese and wheat germ for breakfast and I'm so relieved. Later I'll have veggies, brown rice & chicken.
Can't wait to get back to the security of my next 11-Day cycle!
BTW, I condensed my 11-Day sheet from 19 pages down to 6. Wanted to carry the diet around with me and like to save paper/ink, plus it's too bulky at 19 pages to stuff into my purse. I've created a blank template for the 11 days of 4 meals each, and included the Rules, Allowable Drinks & Condiments, plus Food Prep Instructions.
I can't upload a Word doc here -- it's the wrong format -- but anyone who wants my 6-page blank template is welcome to it. I think there's a way to send me a private message, and I'll give you my email address. Then once you have the document, all you do is swipe your meals and paste. It'll take you 10 minutes or so to enter your stuff, but to me it's worth it to have only 6 pages to staple and carry.

Hi Elbop....I know exactly what you mean about having your tastes change and wanting to get off CD binge and back to healthy eating.....this plan changes US and the WAY we eat and THINK about foods...even our bodies begin to respond differently to junky foods That is the beauty of these plans...you not only lose weight...you can then keep it off for life! It isn't a huge struggle when you are eating healthy as i t takes away alot of the cravings and mindless junk eating. We still have to be disciplined but I have not suffered at all like I have on other plans. And I have tried many many plans over the years. I have kept the weight off this time too. I do a full or partial cycle if I find I am gaining and "poof" I am back to my goal weight! It is good to do a cycle once in awhile just to make sure I am not getting too careless in my approach to food. So I do one now and then even if I am not gaining...doesn't hurt to have a buffer zone of loss anyway!

ElBop - YAY! Congratulations on your 6 lb. loss! WOOHOO! Bravo! Great job! Our first CDs can be crazy. But the good thing is that after being on this diet, we KNOW the bad choices are BAD, and eventually we get the message, that the outrageous cheats are not worth it at all! We crave the sweets, and "bad" stuff less and less, and finally get to the point where we make good choices (overall) and are happy and satisfied. As DrkNgil reminded us... "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels"

Well I had my fruit/cream cheese dessert for my fruit salad/cheese combo I mentioned. I didn't like it all that much with pineapple. Though I didn't have strawberries I did have these all natural fruit popsicles in my freezer from Dreyers. I mixed as strawberry popsicle, half a banana, and 4 oz of cream cheese in the food processor. I just had to have strawberries somehow. One popsicle is worth 45 calories. It was a minor deviation but I thought it was worth it.
Next time, I'll buy a large bag of frozen strawberries for fruit day and for whenever I get fruit salad cause I have hard time when I have fruit salad on the menu and I don't have strawberries.
Elbop, that was funny. By the time dinner rolled around on my way to church, I did feel like I could eat a horse, LOL! But yeah seriously, I'm back on the plan as scheduled for day 6 today.

That is what I say to myself when my hand wants to grab some chips off of my husbands plate or dig into the candy. Those "momentary pleasures" end up costing us too much in the future! So thanks for sharing your quotes with us!

Ugh! I deviated again today. I went to wal-mart with my friend and when she took her daughter to the McDonald's there, I bought something for my kids. My daughter only ate her fries and my boys barely touched their nuggets.
Since I paid $14 for all meals together, I ended up eating their nuggets and fries. I hate wasting food, especially when I'm wasting money with it!
Of course that was my 3rd meal and I aint eating nothing for the rest of today. This is not my best cycle. I'm continuing until day 12 though..
I'm never taking my kids again to McDonald's while I'm doing a cycle, especially when I'm hungry. That's mostly because food and money gets wasted.

Not looking forward to veggie day but it helps that my friedge is stalked with frozen veggies/purees. Getting creative has helped me get through veggie day much more easily. I think in the future I might invest in a deep freezer cause when I stock up it takes up a whole lot of fridge space.
On the brightside, On Tuesday I have a fro-yo / fruit salad combo to look forward to 
The last 3 days on the DG go by so much more quickly.

It looks like I am not the only lost one here. Glad Larry has been away too. It has been such a very busy autumn with a cruise and my daughters wedding, but now I am back to start round 2. I started this morning, so far so good. I did put on a few lbs. but think a lot of it is water retension. We'll see how the first few days go.
It is so nice to see so many of the old familiar names, makes me fell good being back.

I had some tomato-basil soup for lunch. I usually prefer creamy tomato basil soup and this time, I added an oz cream cheese to it and it give that extra something that was missing. Doesn't compare to the soup from La Madelaine (a french bistro style restaurant found mostly in parts of Texas and Lousiana) but it was fairly satisfying. Next time I'll see if I can add a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese instead.
So far, this veggie day is going by fairly quickly and it's cause I'm trying hard not to think about food LOL.

Mmmmmmm.... just had my last meal of veggie day... spaghetti (squash) and mushroom bolognese....... delicious and actually I don't even miss the pasta. I am still very miserable though, as I weighed myself today and I have not lost anything this cycle.... not even half a pound. 
I am still sick... although I think I am over the worst now and on the road to recovery, so all I can do is keep plodding on and hope that the next cycle is much better.... still no closer to the 150's!!!
Not really looking forward to cheat days, seeing as I have not lost anything and I feel as though I don't deserve them this time... but I am taking a day trip to Puerto Rico on Friday to do some Xmas shopping so I guess I should take advantage...... and my daughter is expecting me to bring back a Happy Meal for her!!!

Don't get me wrong, I've liked some of the Hawaiian food I've had so far but I really miss my family.
Don't beat yourself up over not having any losses. Enjoy your cheat weekend. Skipping it all together is going to be no help since you'll be tempted the minute you see your favorite food in front of you.

Omayra - I know what you mean about the food... the flight is really early, so as soon as I get in, I head to Plaza las Americas, and there is this really nice, tiny, cafe, that serves the most delicious breakfast... i have no idea what it is actually called, but it seems to be a kind of mixed up dish, with hash browns, bacon, eggs and veggies... that is ALWAYS my first stop... so I guess I should be really glad that it is a CD!!!! I agree with you too, on the whole missing family thing.. my family are all in the UK but i moved out to Antigua with my husband, who is Antiguan, about 8 years ago!! thanks to the internet and Skype, i talk to my mum almost every day though, and right now, we are having a bit of a weight loss competition... with me using FL4I and she is going to Slimming World classes in the UK... She has already lost 10 lbs and will be at her goal weight in another 10... I still have 32 to go, but its a good incentive.
Thanks for the encouragement, and enjoy your weekend too!! I am off to check out my menu for next cycle so that I can prepare my shopping list!!

Haven't posted for several days, but I'm firmly on the diet plan. Today is day 2 of my Second 11-Day Cycle. Boring as it is, I'm pretty relieved to be through with my first 3 Free Days.
Free Day 1 I sugared out...cast all sense aside. Free Day 2, felt really bad waking up and so I ate very sensibly. Free Day 3, life presented me with lots of stressful stuff, and I ran back to sugar and grease for comfort. So I regained 2-3 pounds of my first 6 lb. loss.
Anyway, my commitment is firm for the second cycle.

Haven't posted for several days, but I'm firmly on the diet plan. Today is day 2 of my Second 11-Day Cycle. Boring as it is, I'm pretty relieved to be through with my first 3 Free Days.
Free Day 1 I sugared out...cast all sense aside. Free Day 2, felt really bad waking up and so I ate very sensibly. Free Day 3, life presented me with lots of stressful stuff, and I ran back to sugar and grease for comfort. So I regained 2-3 pounds of my first 6 lb. loss.
Anyway, my commitment is firm for the second cycle.

The old comfort is NOT worth it! Listen up all you newbies and oldies! I have been on sabbatical for the past month, kinda' watching but kinda' NOT watching and eating the wrong foods, and you know what I discovered- IT IS NOT COMFORTABLE!- NOPE! I was actually miserable after eating things I shouldn't be eating. Oh yeah, WHILE I'm eating it, it tastes good, right? But afterwards! What a downer!
Can I get three hoots and a holler for ElBop! She/he wins the Loser Phrase O' The Day!

| I second that! I missed El Bop's post. It's absolutely, undeniably, the plain truth of the matter. When you lose your health, nothing else matters. No sense in waiting for a diagnosis. I don't care how old or young you are, it's never to late to change your ways, and start taking care of yourself. It's not just about looks, numbers on the scale, clothes fitting better... it's our LIVES that are at stake. Sometimes we forget those details, and it is great to be reminded. Thank you El Bop & Agl!

| Thank you guys! It was a nice day for me and my mom. Hi Ann! I've been gone too, and it's great to see all the old friends posting...Hi Larry!!!! Sticking to the plan has been tough these last couple weeks...I've been eating 1 meal a day, not on plan....but I guess I'm maintaining so far...I need to get Web and Sunshine to crack the whip!!!! C'mon ladies...I need some will power!!!
