I extended my 11 day cycle for an extra 2 days so my cheat would fall on f,s,s.  I had no problem.  I would repeat days 1 and 2.  Myself, I had a f/v day for day 1 and day 2 for day 2. (this was on the old menus though.

Hi everyone :D

Just thought I'ld let you all know that my interview went really well and they said they will be sending me an offer shortly...YEAH!!!!

Oh yeah...and as for the diet...the place we went had roast beef sandwhiches, so I had that...it wasn't technically on today's menu, but it was the closest they had to something I could eat and not seem completely strange (ie, asking for some cooked chicken and nothing else)...I'll just switch one of my sandwiches later in the week for the ground turkey I was supposed to have today.

And I've had a really hard time with water today. I don't know if any of you have ever been to Calgary, but it's really dry here, especially compared to the maritime weather in Vancouver.  So I had loads of water today...about 2 litres (  ounces) so far, and Im still absolutely parched...I'll try and drink a bunch more this evening, and hopefully this will improve.

Good Evening everyone.  Its kinda late for me to be on here but I had a long evening trying to get some homework done.  But you know I couldn't go to bed without checking in.  :bear:

Juanita, I am glad to hear that the new version is going well for you and your sister.  I am happy she decided to give it a go, that way you guys can share this experience. That roast and that turkey sound great.  Good Luck, this weekend.  Don't stress out about it.  Try to swap out your mixed meal for the day with the restaraunt meal.  That is the best way to go, and just try to take it lighter throughout the day.  You'll do fine.

Mamasue, I sorry you are having hungry evenings.  Have you tried adjusting your eating times so that your 4th meal falls a bit later?  As long as you allow approx. 2 hours before you go to bed.  That may work better for you.  I had to make that minor adjustment as I was getting late night cravings with all this homework :crying:.

Saqmcart, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I am sooo happy for you.  You Go Girl!!
You made a great choice today at lunch as well. I wouldn't worry about swapping your sandwich later in the week, ground turkey can be a mixed meal as well since we can use veggies if we want.  Great job on getting your water quota plus some.

My day went off without a hitch.  I followed the menu as planned.  Nothing fancy.  Got my water in.  And now I am pretty much beat.  I am looking forward to what the scale has in store for me on Friday.  I am not expecting much since this past two weeks has been quite a mix-up.  I bet that shocked my metabolism.  I didn't get anything ready for tomorrow so I have to do that in the morning :?  so I better try to call it a night.

See you ladies tomorrow.

Goodnight.

Hello everyone.. I hope your days all went well.

Kit, good idea nixing the hard candy.  Since they recommend beverages to be 10 calories or less anything more than probably messes with the way our bodies burn off those calories every few hours.  Keep us informed of how things go this time.

Welcome Auntie Ann, I agree with Juanita, I wouldn't switch the yogurts.  Let us know what you decide and how it works for you.  I had to get those kinds of temptations out of the house at first.  Now, they don't bother me. My fiance' eats terribly and keeps candy bars in the freezer at all times. You'll get strong enough to where you won't want them, for now, don't risk it.  You are less likely to have that stuff if you have to go out to get it.  Start tomorrow fresh just like you said, and don't think back on today.  You can do this, so you slippped up, you have the rest of the cycle to be strong.

Goinstrong, I would say that you can do that.  Other IPDers have done similiar things in an effor to change their cheat days.  Go for it.  Get your cheat days to fall on the best days for you, and then you're all set.  It's a one time thing.  Good Luck, tell us what you decide.

Welcome Kapers, interesting moniker :), you'll get to know your satisfaction point. I think it took all of us some time to get there. Jenn, gave some good tips (Hi Jenn :D)
Here is another option:  Try to keep a log for a couple of days, record your hungry level prior to eating, how much you eat, and how you felt 15 minutes after you finished eating and make adjustments after a few days of recording.  If you feel full, decrease what you are eating by a few bites and go from there.

Congrats Jenn, on realizing you can get by on less food.  That is a huge part of this eating plan.  You are right, eat to live!!!

Juanita, glad to see you are lending a helping hand.  It means so much to other IPDers to have others who are so willing to share their experience and give some insight when possible.  (I also wrote to you in the other thread :P)

CresentFresh, we are glad to have you with us!!  Congrats on the progress you have made thus far... Continue to use those photos as motivation.  Take the way you felt about them and make it work for you.  I had one of those photos as well.  I called it my 'oh my god I'm fat photo'.  That is a place I don't ever want to return to.  I'm sure you are being too hard on yourself.  You probably looked great in that photo. ;)

Okay I think I said a quick hello to everyone.  Nothing much to report on my end.  I've gotten so comfortable with this way of eating and I am so busy with school.  Luckily I am not having those late night cravings I use to have.  Before IPD I would probably be having a bowl of breakfast cereal tonight.  Not because I am hungry but I would want to eat something because I was still up. :pig:  Mindless snacking is a thing of the past. YAAAAYY..

Goodnight gang.  Oh and Good Morning

If I missed anyone from today I apologize. It was not intentional.

Mamasue, Where are you located?  You have a new baby right?  Do you work outside the home?  Do you nap when your baby naps?  I don't know if I can helpyou with your lack of sleep.  I use to nap when my daughter napped.  I didn't get a full 8 hours for a few years.  I was a stay at home mom.  Maybe the baby's father can help.

As far as the hunger goes I would try and increase your food intake a little.  I think your meals should carry you over longer than 2.5 hours.  If I were in your shoes and I couldn't stand it I would have a 5th meal that day.  Also if you are nursing you might need additional nutrition. Milk and calcium.  You may want to check with your doctor and they can help you supplement this diet by adding what you need.  Nursing mothers have different nutritional needs.  I would think you would still lose weight (I would just repeat one my meals on the menu for that day)  Maybe at a slower rate but maybe not.

I'm not a nutritionist but it makes sense to me.  How about anyone else.  What do you think Bretan, you have 4 kids. Help.

An apple was a good choice so don't fret about it.  Next time you eat see how long it lasts you before wanting to eat again. Ask if its hunger or desire for food.  If it's hunger have your next meal but up the quantity.  If your menu has eggs, cook 3 and have them in the morning.  That should help sustain you.  The natural fat in eggs are really great at keeping hunger away.    This might allow you to space your meals farther apart and that way you can have your fourth meal at night.  Having a new born is stressful enough without dieting so give yourself a break.  Accept that you are human and if you have to eat something you'll be less likely to gain if you eat fruit salad instead of cake.

Hang in there and alway know that we are here for you.  I'll send the menu to you tomorrow when my daughter is at school.  I need to scan it.  (I've wanted to eat 6 sandwiches at one time before too.  I feel your pain.  You did good by choosing a melon and an apple.  Be proud.

Saqmcart,  Congrats on your interview.  It looks like you made a good choice dining out.  I wouldn't take away a sandwich in the future though.  You might confuse your metabolism.  I would just move on to tomorrow and follow it.  Just a thought.

Will you have to move away from Vancouver if you accept the offer?  I use to live in Seattle and Olympia.  I miss the rain.  I live in AZ the exact opposite.  The sun is so Bright here.

Have a great day tomorrow!

Hi everyone, thought I would post before I call it a night.  My daughter went back to school.  Her fever finally broke yesterday.  She has only been sick 2 times during this past school year.  I haven't been sick in 3 years. (knock on wood)  I don't know if that is a good thing or not.

My sister is hanging in there.  I too am glad she joined.  The support I get from you guys is inspiring.  I just want to say thank you.   I had my roast beef sandwich (deli sandwich) tonight with bbq sauce.  I was out of sandwich bread so I ate it on a high fiber wheat pita bread 160 calories.  I was starving so I piled on the roast.  Wasn't stuffed but definitely satisfied.  That was at 5:30 and it's 10pm and still not hungry.  That's not unusual for me as I'm not much of an eater after dinner.  I Get starved around 3:30 when my daughter has an afternoon snack.

Keep posting and any newbies in the shadows just reading (we know your out there) We were out there lingering in those same shadows until we came out to play.  Join us.  We won't bite and we're a diverse group and have a lot of fun.  Here is an early WELCOME!

Good night and Good choices!

Mamasue, it must be so hard not to have your family and friends around you. Lonely too, I bet. I hope you enjoy all the one-on-one time you are getting with your lil' baby--all the moms are right when they say this time goes so quickly when you look back on it (and have forgotten what a dirty diper looks and smells like).

Juanita, I so know what you mean about being happy to get back to your scheduled eating. On my first cheat day, I ran amuk. (did I mention we have a pizza shop?) For today and tomorrow, I'm going to rein it in a bit. I have a hard time recognizing my "Full" point. I think I busted that meter years ago!

Hope everyone has a skinny day!

Susan, I can't imagine all the free pizza I could eat.  I guess people use to think about that when I had my fudge company.  28 flavors.

Speaking of full meter I think I was born without one.  Today is almost all protein except one meal that has peaches with a protein.  Day 2 of the new menu.  Who else tried the new menu this time around?

What I am doing (since I don't recognize when I'm just satisfied.  I ask myself "How much would I eat if I ate what I wanted."  I then take half of that amount.  If that amount makes me too full I cut it back the next meal.  Don't put too much on your plate at one time, you can always go back for more.  Eat from a saucer or a small plate.  Hope this helps.

mamasue, where did you grow up?

I'd go for the housekeeper,  I have family coming in and boy is my family messy.  I'll be spending the next three days in the trenches cleaning.  (at least I'll burn some calories.)

I'm glad today went better for you.Next time if the baby is asleep and you can't soak in a hot bath with a good book.  Try and space your meals out further apart like Jayelle suggested.  If you are starving after 2.5 hours then you need to add more food to your next meal.  It doesn't say but I think 3 to 3.5 hours is the right time for me.  Just keep working on it and it will come together.

Got to get my 11 yr old off to school.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi Vip868, what version are you following?  If you are following the new version that has a fruit/sandwich day and then an all veggie day, then unfortunately corn is not allowed.

If you are following the original version, they say that any fruits and vegetables are allowed on this day.
I hope this helps and Good Luck

Hey Juanita, I agree about the about your time spacing. 3.5 hours is probably perfect, excepct for when I have fruit.  I am hungry like 1.5 sometimes 2 hours later.  I can only eat so much fruit before I am satisfied, but then it doesn't stay with me long so on those days I have to eat a bit sooner.

Mamasue, I would definitely take a sample menu to my doctor and ask him what he thinks.  He should be able to give you the best advice for incorporating this WOE into your needs for breast feeding.  I know losing the weight is important, but you wanna make sure you are nutritionally sound since the little one is depending on it.  You need to make sure you are getting the right nutrients so that the milk you produce is getting the right nutrients to the baby.

Suzan, aaaaahhhhhhh Pizaa, anytime.:pig:  How do you do it.  I worked at Pizza hut when I was a teenager and I ate and ate pizza, never got sick of it.  I'd love to have a hand tossed supreme pizza.  YYYUUUUUUUMMMMM  I'm going to have some NY style pizza this weekend for sure.  A HUGE SLICE!!

Jayelle,

Do you live in NC,  My best friend from High School lives about an hour out side of the Capital.  Haven't seen her in years but we keep in touch.  We grew up in Gulfport/Biloxi MS.  You know the place Katrina totally destroyed.  My brothers were there a week ago to visit our parents grave and the whole beach front is gone.  Beautiful old mansions, Piers.  We moved there from TN after hurricane Camille hit in 69.  They are strong people and will rebuild I'm sure.

I know.  yesterday was my fruit day.  after a whole grapefruit I was not hungry but an hour later I was starved.  I don't want to over eat but it is not a day to under eat either.  I may and have my sandwich mid day next time to help keep the hunger at bay.  I was very tempted to have an extra piece of fruit but didn't.

Are you going to start the new menu soon?  I like the choices but miss the pasta, hamburger and sandwiches.

Mamasue, don't worry I didn't forget about the menu with all the sandwiches I have to scan it I will try and do it after lunch.  it's about 9:30 now

Time for a snack (meal #2)  I eat at 6 am so I'm getting hungry.  I'm having sausage links and peanuts.  yum!

Have a great day.

Hi Everyone.  Thanks for all the "welcomes".  I'm on day 10 and I could kick myself but I hopped on the scales and saw I hadn't lost a pound since day 7.  So I'm still at 5 pounds after 9 days.  I really really really hope another 1 or 2 are gone by Friday when I start my cheat days.  I think next cycle I need to drink more water and eat less at each meal.  Maybe then I'll lose more than 5 or 6 pounds. I also forgot my diuretic last night so maybe I was retaining a bit?  I'm being so religious about this.  I had the smoothie this morning and didn't have time for the veggies so after 3 hours I was starving.  I put it off another half hour and am eating the turkey and sausage.  I didn't bring as much today and hoping I won't get hungry between meals anymore.  I drink water but if I'm really hungry, it doesn't seem to help.  Good luck to all of you today and I'll let you know what happens on Friday.  Thanks for all the support!  :rose:

Saqmcart- Congrats on the job.  That's really great!  I hope they offer you tons of money! ;)

Hi to everybody else. I hope you all are having great days with little to no cravings!:)   I'm totally obsessed with the scale now, so I'm weighing every day.  I lost another 1.5 lbs. as of this morning and have now taken off all my cheat day weight.  That made for a good morning.

I'm about to have some big changes in my life.  I know this is just a diet forum, so I won't elaborate too much, but once again I have to say that I am SO GLAD to have all of you here.  It's so nice to have the much-needed support that this forum provides.  I am going to be moving out of my house and leaving my fiance'.  I believe my plans are to stay in TX for another month or two, but then move up to Tacoma, WA - where my parents live.  Fortunately, this break up is making me feel not hungry and even more motivated to lose weight (I mean, who wants to be fat and single, right?) but I think it's going to take a toll on me...and my 5 yr. old son.  I'm not too sad, just stressed.  Funny, usually stress makes me want to EAT.:chew:

Anyway, I think you are all so great, and everyone here should be very proud to #1 even be here, sticking to the diet and trying to lose, and #2 being the biggest and best support group I've ever known. Thank you to all! I hope that I can provide support to you as you have been doing for me.

VIP868: I think it not good to have rice with your meals. THey specifically try to make only protein meals on purpose. They introduce carbs in other ways such as fruits and oatmeal, etc.... eating rice will slow you down.

You can have mushrooms, but you shouldnt eat the starchy veggies such as potatoes and corn, they will slow you down too.

About the water intake: I buy those Crystal Light On the Go packets and put it in my water. Especially when I am very hungry and I cant eat, I drink a bottle of water with those packets and it takes very good! I like the Rasberrry Ice flavor. ANyway, it feels like you are having something else but borng water, so it makes the hours go by easier. They are sugar free and only 5 cals per serving.

Anyway, I'm on F/V day today. I had a salad with lettuce, tomato and cucumbers with balsamic vinagrette, kinda boring. I miss my blue cheese and bacon on the salad. I also drank a V8 4oz can. I hate those things but it will give me some evergy for today.

I'm still on the old menu, so I only get to eat 3 times today. I'll have fruit salad for lunch and more boring salad for dinner.

I noticed on the new menus it says "fresh" fruit. What's wrong with the frozen kind? I rather buy that because that way I wont have to buy fruit every week and the other stuff will go bad.  Any suggestions?

Have a great day everyone!:D

Well I only indulged in the rice once since on the diet and it wasn't muchmuch - not enough to make me feel guilty..lol..and usually I'm a wreck if I ever deviate..hehe

I'll try my best not to let it recur =)

Veggie day is goin oki so far cuz I'm a big mushroom lover...yum!

I feel like I've lost weight...but won't weigh in until Saturday..shall let you guys know how successful (being optimistic) my first cycle was!

Hey everybody! I just finished my first cycle, sort of, cause I'm extending it 3 days. So I'm on day 12 now. I lost about 6.5 lbs. I was hoping for more but at least its a lot more than what I was losing beforehand! Hopefully I will lose another 2-3 over the next few days and won't be so nervous about my break this weekend for Mother's Day, we are going out to dinner. I'm looking forward to starting the new menu starting next Tuesday.

Goingstrong, I don't think frozen fruit is a problem. I think they stress fresh fruit as opposed to dried fruit, which often has lots of additives, extra sugar and sometimes less fiber. Its also less filling so you might eat more of it unintentionally. I personally use frozen fruit a lot of this diet. Sometimes my meal is "soy milk and fruit" and I just throw the ingredients into the blender to make a smoothie. I use frozen fruit because ice cubes make me sick (long story) and it works fine.

Juanita, sorry I meant to respond to this sooner. No, Crescent is not my real name. It is from Sifl and Olly, a show that used to be on in the middle of the night and nobody seems to have heard of.

It sounds like our weight history is similar in a lot of ways. I too only had about 30 lbs to lose in elementary school and felt huge. Though my mom could stand to lose some weight now, she was always very thin when she was younger, and it sounds like how you described yours. I know she was trying to help but a lot of those things she said to me as a kid made me feel horrible and stupid, like I didn't understand how to eat and humans should be born knowing that skill. I had (and still do to some point) the mentality that "fat is fat" regardless of how much or little I had to lose. As long as I was bigger than I wanted to be, in my head I might as well have been morbidly obese. In junior high my mom and I did WW and lost about 15 lbs before she got tired of meetings and said we could just do it on our own. Back then I just would pretty much just eat what she told me to, no thinking involved, so I wish I had finished my weight loss then! But no, as it always goes, we began putting the weight back on soon after we left. I was about 165 then, though about 5 inches shorter. I'd love to weigh that now but at that time I still felt big. Also my friends were tiny and I felt like giant. I appreciate my stature now but I guess nobody likes their bodies too much as an adolescent. Anyway in high school I was active, but eating whatever I wanted and somehow by junior year I put on over 60 lbs!!! I couldn't believe it, I was in sports and marching band. I took off 40 through pretty much starving and lots of exercise, gained back 20 by graduation.

Through college I hovered between the same 20 lbs the whole time. I ended college at the high end of that range and then soon after fell ill, and a year in bed I put on another 35. Ugh. Fatter than ever, when I got better I was determined to get in shape and healthy once and for all and starting New Years 2005, worked to get down to about where I am now. I got stuck right about last August. I can struggle my way down about 10 lbs from that point but it pops up again after just a few days of neglect. I want to be healthy and comfortable in my body, but its hard to stay motivated when suddenly nothing I was doing before seems to work anymore. It went from just a "challenge" to "epic uphill battle" and its not fun to suddenly see everything that used to work for you suddenly causing you to gain weight.

So that brings us to present. I've been weight training on and off for several months now so I look smaller at this weight than I used to. Its nice to be strong now when I was so weak while ill. Whatever it takes I want to put that and my days of despair about my weight behind me once and for all. Its been 12 years of dieting or feeling guilty for not dieting now, half my life, and thats just too much. I'd also like to go swimming without wearing 5 layers outside my suit sometime before I go gray... I think its great you are motivated by health and staying around for your kids. I wish my parents would take better care of themselves, I worry about them. I'm also glad you set an attainable goal. But I hope you follow your own advice, if you don't quite make it, at least you have come a long way from where you started.

Hi everyone!  Well today I am on day 4 of my third cycle on the new menu.  I'm doing great.  My sister started on Monday and this is her day 4.  She has lost 7 pounds already.  You diabetics out there.  She has been off almost all of her medicine and her blood sugar has been great. Fasting blood sugar was at 89 today.  Yeah Leda!

Today has gone off without a hitch so far.  My sister came over to help me clean house as we have a sister and two brothers that are flying in tomorrow.  Unfortunately it is not a cheat weekend so we will work within what our menu says.  My brother is on weight watchers anyway.  It will be nice since we haven't seen anyone for 2 years.   Not having snacks at the house, plenty of water and games.

Jenn, Hang in there.  Your priority is to take care of yourself and your little boy.  Things will work out for the best. They always do.

Mamasue, how have your food days been going?  I hope better than the other night.  I hope some of my suggestions helped a little.  I agree with everyone.  This is a great Forum.  We should thank Peter for creating this site.  He's helped a lot of people by creating this great place to express ourselves and give and receive support.

Jayelle and everyone else.  Hope you are all having a great day.  My daughter has a violin solo as a guest performer at one of our schools in the district.  Won't be home til after 8pm but I'll check in before bed.

Hi everyone.

Before I say anything else, thanks everyone for all your support around my interview.  And guess what...I found out shortly after I arrived back in Vancouver yesterday that I have another interview in Calgary on Monday with a different company.

So I'm on day 4 of my second cycle, and I have to say that it's the first day since this cycle started that I actually feel like it's working...the first few days I felt pretty yucky and like I was gaining weight instead of losing, but I got on the scale this morning and it's down a couple of pounds so obviously that wasn't the case, but I sure did feel like it.  Anyone else ever experience that?

Juanita - if I do accept either of these jobs, then yes I would have to move away from Vancouver to Calgary (dry like Arizona, only much, much colder in the winter).  I'm actually looking forward to it because I really don't like the grey dreary winters...you know what I talking about...I need to see the sun every once in a while, so after 3 years I'm ready to leave.

saqmcart,  Wow!  jobs are coming from everywhere for you.  It seems like all of your ducks are in a row.  I hope you are able to have your pick.

We lived in Washington from 92 to 2001 when we moved to AZ  Today was suppose to be 100 degrees.  I don't know if it got that high or not.  Maybe 104 by this weekend.  We won't see below 100 until October.  Welcome to my world.  It doesnt get that hot in Calgary does it?  Our summers here are like a ghost town.  Most everyone either goes ot in the am or the pm and you try to stay in during the middle of the day.  I love the winters here but the summers are like child birth. Long, drawn out and painful.

The winters are glorious.

Just finished my last meal low fat milk and bacon> It was very good.

I'm off to bed.  Hope everyone is well bye for now.

Hi Everyone!  I'm in good spirits today, as I am down a total of 11 pounds as of this morning.  I am going to look for a new home this afternoon, and everything will hopefully fall into place nicely.  I've been having massive chocolate cravings the past few days, and it's driving me nuts!

Juanita, I know those AZ summers well, having spent over 15 years in Tucson.  The high here today is 83, and I am glad for that!  The weather was one of the biggest reasons I wanted out of AZ.  Hope you have a mild summer.  Where in WA did you live?

Have a great day, everyone!:)

Ok, I'm disappointed.  :(  After 11 days, I only lost 5.4 pounds.  Considering I lost 4.8 of that in the first 6 days, I know most of it was water.  Not sure I can even lose 5 pounds on the next cycle.  I haven't been drinking the water.  More than usual but nowhere near 8-10 glasses.  I swam once, the only exercise I got.  So now I'm on my cheat days and afraid I will gain half of it back.  I'm going to drink a ton of water this weekend, exercise, and try not to go nuts with the food.  So far, I've had 2 pieces of bacon and 2 slices of toast and didn't really need the 2nd piece of toast.  Just so happy to eat bread.  I'm also going to stick to eating only every 3-4 hours and no grazing.  It's hard to break the habit of opening the frig or pantry and just grabbing something because it sounds good, but that's probably how I got this way and I'll never keep it off if I don't break that cycle.  I went 11 days without doing that so it's stupid to do it now.  Glad I'm on the go most of Saturday, that will help.  Any other ideas you can share to increase my loss next cycle is greatly appreciated!!

Good luck on house hunting.  I hate moving.  When we bought this house I told my husban I'm not moving again.  He agrees.

going to be 100 today.  Food will be a challenge as i have 3 protein meals and 1 carb meal.  Any suggestions when I go out to a mexican rest. tonight.

I lived in seattle and olympia from 92 til 2001.

Well,  have to go and finish cleaning my house.

Hi everyone. I didn't have time to really check in yesterday. It was my graduation day. I am so glad I went to the ceremony, it was really great and I felt so good about myself when I saw the look on my children's beaming faces. I could tell that they were really proud of their mommy.

I hope everyone is doing fine and Juanita hope your daughters solo went great!

Kapers,

I think you are doing great. 5.4lbs/11days is almost 1 pound every two days!! You cant expect to lose more than that and keep it off! I think its a good rate to lose weight like that.

If you lost 1 pound per day, it would be too unhealthy! Its been only 2 weeks, you cant expect to have lost 20 pounds! ;)

I think you are on the right track!! I've also only lose 4lbs in 10 days, but its ok! Cause I believe the faster you loose the weight, the faster you would put it back on!

So keep going and you will see a difference once 10-20 pounds are off. You feel so much better! Like you said, it might be water weight, so now you will lose real weight while keeping your body hydrated.

All I can suggest is to take a bottle of water around. Put some Crystal Light or another flavoring in it, so you feel like you are having a soda or candy. Try to eat smaller portions. Try starting with 1/2 of what you normally eat. Have a glass of water or diet soda with it, or better yet drink it before you start eating. That will fill you up quick.

Just hang in there! We are all going through the same hard times you are!! :D

Have a good weekend!!:gift:

Ugh...so it's fruit and veg day today...I decided to try having my first meal a bit later so that it wasn't quite so long between meals...it has been about 2 hours since breakfast and I'm hungry already...I'm trying not to think about it...drinking lots of water instead.

Ohhhh Saqmcart, I know JUST how you feel.  Today is MY F/V day and I am trying to figure out what I can go out and do so I'm not sitting around the house all day thinking about the food I can't have.

I had a can of green beans for breakfast.  weird.

Happy Mothers Day, everyone!:rose:

My 10 yr. old son got me a wee tiny box of chocolate--"I wanted to get you a real BIG one, Mom"-- he knows I'm trying to lose weight. Oops! For breakfast he and I ate that wee box of chocolates (two pieces each; I was careful to eat the coconut one that no one under the age of 30 seems to like). Also, TOM blew in yesterday, which always makes me over-eat and crave salty fatty no-no foods. Reckon I'll start again tomorrow. Boy, the three cheat days threw me off. Excuses, excuses! I'm afraid to step on the scale now, darn it!

Keep up the good work everyone! You are most inspiring!

Hi everyone and Happy Mothers Day to all those Moms and Moms to be!  Well my family is still here from out of town.  My brother who is 55 has lost a lot of weight and is working out at the gym each day.  He is looking great.  34 inch waist and is very proud.

My sister from Washington state came down.  She is thinking about Jenny Craig for hr and her son.  I Hope it works for them>  My other sister Leda (she's the diabetic and joined ipd last Monday is hanging out in there.  She and I have been there for each other.  Everyone was very supportive and it wasn't too hard so far.  We ate out at my brothers favorite Mexican rest.  (not mine)  My sis and i had chicken, beef and shrimp fajitas.  About 6 ounces of meat 1/2 c. of onions and peppers which were either raw or burned.  I didn't eat the tortillas, beans, rice, sour cream, avocado, or tortilla chips and salsa.

It wasn't that hard to do without as I don't like the restaurant.

On sat we grilled in at my house.  My brother cooked.  BBQ chicken, Hamburgers salsas and fruit salad for dessert.  I had one hamburger patty and 1.5 chicken breast.  I know hamburger was not on the list but had it anyway.  No bread only ketchup, small salad and 2 grapes.  (My brother makes the best hamburgers Yum)

My sister from Seattle flew out at 6 am this morning and I was up at 2:30 helping her get ready for the shuttle bus to take her to the airport.  Went right back to bed.

My water didn't happen very much so today I plan on downing it.  I won't weigh until this coming Friday which is the 1st day of my cheat days.  My family are planning on celebrating Mothers day next Sat on my cheat day.

My brothers are flying home tomorrow in the morning.  I'm glad everyone came.  It's been a lot of fun.

Tomorrow is my veggie day so I'm trying to prepare myself for it. mentally.  I like the new menu but have to admit I am tired of all of the deli meat and believe it not enough cooking.  I miss the sandwiches, pasta and the hamburger, hot dog or sandwich of any type,   I plan to switch back to the old menu a week from Monday.

Jenn, I didn't forget you.  I've been very busy.  I am going to email it to you as soon as I'm done with this post.  I have to scan it so within 30 min.

Susan, I know how you feel about cheat days they do become a little easier.  My cheat days start next week end. have big plans.

Well, I hope everyone has a great day.  I'm going to try!

Juanita

Hey everyone,  I am a newbie!!
And in perfect time too, cuz boy am I in panick mode!!!
I did one phase of this diet a month and a half ago, and I lost around 5 lbs.  My life is crazy, I travel alot because after being married for 10 years, and 2 years alone, I met my soul mate, who just happens to live in Texas and I live in Utah, and I fly there every other week.  The inconsistency in my life is killing my ability to be consistent.  I am so good when I am home, but when I get there with him, we are so excited to be with each other, we want to go out, eat meals together...etc.  He is a gorgeous beautiful man, with a to die for muscular body, and of course does not have to worry about his weight at all. He is moving here with me on June 1, and I couldnt be more relieved.
When I met him, (a little more than a year ago) I was 145lbs and size 8.  In this crazy year I have gained 15 lbs.  (UHG!)
I am also battling a history of comfort starving (yes anorexia), and now that I am 32 I am realizing that my usual "losing weight tactics" are just not working anymore, in fact exactly the opposite.  My metabolism is undoubtedly dead and I need to revive it.
I know that this diet can work for me, and its perfect for me to learn to eat more to loose weight instead of my undying urge to starve when I get in panick mode.
I have been desperate for some support, I read somewhere when I First started this diet that the one dissapointing thing about it is that there was no support forums available for it.  And oh my heck,  here you all are,  I happened to stumble across this forum while in a panicked state looking for the perfect diet pill to help me stop this what seems constant uncontrolable increase in my weight.  (well knowing that the diet pill is probably not the answer).
So after the first phase, knowing that it worked a little, didnt drink the water, and I Think didnt stop before stuffing myself.  I have been reading alot, and it seems the answer to reviving my dead metabolism is to eat many small meals a day.
So I think I might tweek this diet just a bit and eat same meals that is generated but try to split them into a couple extra meals too. So it is 6 instead of 4 and make sure to keep the caloric intake under 1200-1500 calories a day.  Like splitting my one portion of ground turkey into two small portions and have them 2 hours apart. From what I have read, having a LITTLE something every 2 hours of the day is the best way to speed it up. I am hoping that is my answer.
Before I write a novel, I better close off by saying I am open to any suggestions anyone has, I think that in alot of cases support is the KEY, and very therapeutic to be able to report and write to people that are understanding of how I feel, the frustration and panick that comes from this out of control feeling, and what I am trying to achieve.

Hope to hear,

Stefanie

Good Morning Everyone!!!!  I am back from my long weekend (which actually started mid-day on Thursday )and am glad to be back.  I had a great time.  The wedding and reception were wonderful.  The long trip was a typical long trip though.  Stiff legs, bladders stretched to their limits and lots of junk food.  I refuse to way myself because I don't want to know how much I gained over the weekend.  You guys know the previous two weeks for me were a mess with the changing up and all, so I am here this morning, ready to tackle those other unwanted pounds.

I noticed that even though I ate mainly junk I still didn't eat a lot at one time. I certainly didn't eat 4 meals any of the days:dizzy: More like 2 meals and several snacking sessions.  Oh, and obviously since there were 11 hours drives there was very little water consumed.  I did better on Sat since that was the only day with no travel.

So I am using the old menu still.  I am not that excited about the new one, yet I guess.  So I'll weigh in on Friday morning and report my findings.  My belly is poking out so I know I've packed on quite a few pounds.  Here's to hoping I'm back to the low 150s or maybe the upper 140s by the end of the cycle.  (I'm gonna be good)

I have some pretty good pictures of myself from the weekend and I notice those areas that still need to be worked on, so that's a great thing.  Its hard to tell when you're just looking at yourself.  The camera doesn't lie.... I know this for sure.:D

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE

WELCOME Stefanie.  We are happy to have you here with us.

I agree that eating smaller meals more often is a better way to eat.  I would suggest though that you allow your body to digest the food that you are consuming.  Don't eat if you aren't hungry and don't eat more than it takes to satisfy you.

I don't think anyone here can really tell you how well the plan will work with your specific deviations.  The important thing is that you find a way of eating that wors for you.  If IPD gives your the basics that you use to work off of and develop your personal way then that's just wondetful.

CONGRATULATIONS on meeting your soul mate and the impending move.  I wish you both the best.

Good morning everyone~

I was a bad girl this weekend and couldn't seem to stick with the menu.  I had pizza on Sat. night along with a cookie & ice cream.  Yesterday was my F/V day and I did great all day until last night when I felt sooo hungry and decided to have the last 2 pieces of pizzza.  The really bad kind with thick crust.  I feel incredibly guilty and let down today.  I gained 1.5 lbs. over the weekend (I shouldn't have weighed this morning!) and I am now looking at my menu for this week and I have an omelet every day.  I'm so sick of it.  I haven't even eaten yet today, and I'm trying to decide whether to start my 11 days over or just continue on and go ahead and have cheat days next weekend.  I'm sooo not looking forward to all those eggs.

I did find a rental house this weekend though, and we are moving over Memorial Day weekend.  I feel good about that.  I got a great deal.  Brand new house, nice yard for the kid & dog to play.  I'm not feeling too upset or stressed about this, but maybe I just don't know it and this is the reason I'm having a hard time with the diet right now (???)  Don't know.  :dizzy:

Hope you all have a better day than I'm having!
