Okay, so march 15th I stopped pop, coffee, energy drinks. In a month I lost about 3 lbs.
So then I started eating better. No cookies, no candies, no chocolates, no chips (aside from my quaker rice snaks and my veggie sticks, I hardly ever eat them though, they are more for "treats"), no white bread. I hardly EVER eat bread anyway, but when I do, I eat that whole 9 grain bread.
I started eating lots of fish, lots of chicken, and I kept beef in my diet (we just bought half an organic cow, so it HAD to be eaten), I eat lots of fruits and vegetables now, plus I take fish oil tablets and a multivitamin pretty much every day. Lost a few more lbs, in all I've probably lost 6-7.
Is there anything else I should be cutting out, foods that might have "hidden" sugars or hidden bad things that I don't know about? I d on't use salad dressing on my salads, I use lemon, btw, and use spinach and nuts and stuff.
PS: I graduate high school in about 2 weeks, so after that I'm devoting my time to exercise. I realize i've been puttingit off, and i don't have any excuses. I will start walking/running/whatever after I graduate HS.

You need to watch your fat intake not just calories. Like fats in milk, butter, oils, cheese, etc. You could try just cutting back a little on the size of your meals. I used to get a smaller plate, so I couldn't eat as much. Or some other tricks were to chew food so many times before I could take another bite, or put your fork down after every bite. Just little things, can make a big difference. Some people watch salt intake also. It causes some people to retain water.
I lost most of my weight before I started exercising. So, it can be done without exercise, but it is not as easy. I would recommend you start something simple and stick to it. Then add more later as you feel better from losing a little weight.
Your foods you eat look good, the beef isn't really bad for you, if you eat lean cuts. I only eat red meats about twice a week. I try to stay away from breaded fish and chicken, because they tend to be higher in fat. Turkey is always a great substitute for beef.
That's all I can think of. Good luck to you!

| The key is to add foods, not take foods away. If you start eating lots more fruits and veggies, you won't have room for as much of the other stuff. You won't feel deprived this way.
