Hello, I'm new to the site. I found the place through google and it seems like a very helpful place. The reason for my visit is the simple fact that I need to lose some weight. I'm not obese, it's more or less that I'm pudgy. I'm trying to lose some weight for the summer so that I can go to the beach and hang out with my friends, and not worry about my self appearance.
I'm a 16 year old male in 10th grade. I'm 5'7 and I weigh 154 lbs. I usually work out every day at school. I usually run half a mile monday/tuesday/thursday/friday and a mile and 40-yard dashes on wednesday. Every day but wednesday I work out, with monday being squats and lower body, tuesday bench and upper body, thursday being deadlifts and lower body again and rounding off friday with powercleans and full body. After each day though, the rest of my time usually consists of sitting and drinking soda. There really are no kids around my area to hang out with or anything, so I'm usually inactive.
The areas I'm trying to fix are my stomache, my "love handles", my chest and my neck. These are the areas that really bother me. I'm pretty sure I've built up muscles as I've been working out every day for about an hour (doing the above exercises at school) for ~12 weeks. I'd just like to see some results. I also have some dumbells and a treadmill at home, and I could easily run outside if need be. What I'm looking for here is a way to help get rid of the excess fat on my body. I'd appreciate any and all help people have to offer. Thanks in advance.

| Sounds like you've already got a reasonable exercise program. Rather than tell you to use your treadmill more, I would rather you paid some attention to what you eat. Are these 'diet' sodas? if not, they are full of empty calories. Using the 'lightly active' activity factor I estimate you require 2320 calories a day. If you eat around 1800 calories a day you should lose 1 pound per week - you could try counting calories for a few days to see what your food amounts to. (If you decide to be very keen in this area remember that you shoud go no lower than 1687 calories, which is your unadjusted RMR.)
