Hi

Hang in there, you're fine and while many of us here want the same things you want, remember that it isn't the weight that makes you who you are and you are just as special as a person whether you are 195 pounds or 125 pounds.  don't think about it as losing weight--just concentrate on being healthy and your body will figure it out.  I know it is hard, do you have anyone for support that you can turn to?

One thing that a lot of younger people do is not eat enough.  Make sure you're eating good food and eating enough calories or you'll never lose weight.  Depending on your exercise level, you probably should eat at your age between 2000- 2500 calories for sure (I'm not an expert but that is what i would aim for).  If you're high exercise, you might look at eating more.  It all depends on what you do.

good luck, hang in there and keep reminding yourself that your beautiful regardless of what the scale weighs

Hi Wanna,

Thistle is absolutely right about making sure you consume good quality food and enough calories to make your metabolism operate properly. It is especially important that you consume the RIGHT SORTS OF FATS and some protein with every snack and meal. Examples: celery and peanut butter, apple and cheese, butter on cooked vegetables.

Your metabolism is unique. What helps another lose weight and keep it off may not work for you. That's why it's important to experiment. It's also important to inform yourself about fats and sugars. I suggest you locate a copy of This Slimming Business by John Yudkin, MD.

Learn how to choose your food wisely. Our modern food supply has been tampered with so much during the past 100 years that most of the food available in the center of the modern supermarket does not contribute to healthy bodies and minds.

Finally, this might sound like exactly the wrong thing to do but I suggest you increase your intake of eggs, red meat, and dairy products if your body can tolerate them. Make sure you eat plenty of protein for breakfast as that affects your blood sugar levels for the remainder of the day. If you read some of my other posts in this forum you'll see that I am a high-fat enthusiast and with good reason. I've seen a number of people reduce carbohydrate and add fat to their diets and lose weight without having to reduce caloric intake. If you want some reassurance regarding this, type Penelope J. Greene into a search engine and see what can be learned about fat intake from a carefully designed experiment.
