About three years ago (14 years old)I was 160 pounds and now I'm 143pounds(17years). i'm really happy about it but i want to lose more. the doctor i went to says i'm fine the way i am now and that all i need is to do sit ups and crunches to get rid of the excess skin i have left. but i didnt think that was enough. ofcourse like all girls who were told to do sit ups i did them like crazy, and still am. i'm obssessed, but i still eat right, with the ocassional slice or two of pizza. i dont drink soda or other liquids with high fructose corn syrup, and dont snack unhealthy foods in between meals. but i still wonder if just this will help me tone my abdomen. i have a lot of pressure from my parents to gain weight again but i cant, i feel happier now, so many people are bothered by my weight that they ask if i have a disorder or use diet pills. i sincerely don't see what they see, i still see room for improvement in the mirror.

I don't really think 143 is a problem. I mean, it depends on how tall you are, but I'm like 139-ish, and I'm eighteen, and I'd like to get around 120.
Maybe they are more worried with your obsession about your weight rather than the weight itself...it doesn't sound like you lost it in an a really short amount of time...I mean, I'm not sure where the problem is. But I am not your doctor. :)
Like about how much do you eat in a day?
Are the crunches working for you at all? I heard they aren't really that effective. I have a lot of stomach... :( I think ALL the fat I eat goes into my belly...
Well, at any rate, welcome to CPH! I'm sure you will get more good feedback.

Well I don't think that crunches will get rid of excessive skin but maybe fill it up with some ab muscles. Maybe you are obsessed because it helps to maintain awareness. What are your stats, height and weight? Don't listen to those people. A lot of people tell me not to lose more weight and they try to tell me what to do, but I remind them I think for myself. I have a belly too and it's hard for people to see it when I'm wearing clothes so it becomes easy for them to judge me and say I have an eating disorder. They don't know and that's the truth. Do what is your best interest for the body you want. They don't live in your skin, you do. Pressure doesn't work. It just makes people feel rejected. I think some people get jealous of other people's success and try to bring them down to their level. It's a sad fact. I hope I can learn to let it go one day.

Unless you are very tall, then 143lbs is not that small. I am 5'4 and 127lbs or so, and I want to be 120lbs. Everyone says that's stupid, but I can easily weigh that and not have a problem with being to small. I checked the weight/height charts and even asked on here, before trying to get to that.
So, I'm not real sure why everyone is telling you not to lose. Maybe their just well informed. You could look up your stats and educate them. When they say something about your weight and that you should gain. Then just simply tell them that you have done the research and that you know how much your weight should be.
Your parents are probably just worried about you. They probably think that it's unhealthy because you are obsessing about it. But, I think most people on this forum that are trying to lose weight are obsessive. That's what keeps us on track. I do think it can be an emotional problem for some people, which is why your parents are probably worried.
I would think that your parents would be more worried about the medical issue you can have from being overweight. Maybe you should point that out. Allot people get diabetes and other disease from being overweight.
So, stick to your guns and don't let them make you unhealthy again.
ps: Please check out the calculators on this site, that could help you allot at deciding on what you should weigh, also do a search, get some info on weight and height.

That is so true, sad to say. I wish society wasn't so cruel at times.

You don't suck! Everyone that is holding you back, SUCKS. Just keep doing your diet and exercise thing and it will come off.
Don't get down on yourself, 143lbs isn't a bad weight. I was stuck at 146-147lbs for about a year and I don't think that I looked fat at that weight. I just wanted to be less than that.
