Maybe youd like to tone up with strength training?Doing pushups, weights, etc. are a good way to look firmer and better.

Angel6705,

You say that you don't believe you have a problem, but that you are always unhappy. That's a problem.

Please be sure to read the tutorial topic on Eating Disorders.

It would probably be very helpful if you could talk to a professional. Maybe a school counselor or your doctor? Or see if you can find an eating disorder support group in your area or go to some Overeaters Anonymous meetings. That helped me when I was desparate, and don't judge by just one meeting.

You might also enjoy posting about your situation in the Teen Forum.

Best wishes,

Peter:monkey:

Do you mean binge and then purge?

I understand what you're going through!

I've been there and perhaps I still am but I do have a little advice you may find useful.

First of all...you sound unsure about a few things like you say you're not happy about your weight but then you say you're not sure what your problem is. The problem is that you can't stop thinking about your weight. You want help to stop thinking about it but you also want help to lose it? In a perfect world you'd be able to lose it with a snap of the finger, keep it off and be able to live the rest of your life without thinking about it! Alas, this is not the perfect world so you can't have your cake (or in your case your water) and eat (er uh...drink) it too!

So what now? Analize your emotions. Why do you want to be thinner? Do you think your life will be better if you are and if so why? Will being thinner make you smarter, wealthier, truly happier? :nono: If you really believe this to the point of obsession then I hate to say yes you do have a problem as this is the belief of an anorexic. Judging by your BMI, you're at a healthy weight 19.6 so it's not as though you really need to lose weight for the sake of your health, but you probably already knew that. If I were you, I'd take the advice of Peter and get some counceling to help you determine the roots of your obsession and hopefully end it. In the mean time just make sure that you are indeed excersizing and eating healthily. If you ever have a doubt about eating something like a piece of fruit by the way, ask  yourself, have you ever heard of any one complaining: "Darnit! I can't believe I gained another pound! It's all because I ate that darn apple--those things are so bad for you!" Sounds silly right? That's a little trick I use when in doubt about eating something.

If you just do that much then you shouldn't be worrying. Best of luck to you.

I know you said you are not ready to talk to a doctor, but I would not consider this borderline.  Please consider getting some outside help, and we here at the forums will continue to support you in addition.

Vomiting after meals isn't about weight or food.  It's about how you feel about yourself.  You might not feel ready to speak to a doctor but I suggest you do because this is not something that will go away in time.  Even if you do loose weight you are still going to have the same emotional issues. Being thin doesn't make you happy and it doesn't make you feel better about yourself.  At my lowest weight (105 Lbs) I wasn't any happier than I am now at 120 lbs.  I can not stress enough how important it is to address these issues early, before they have serious emotional and health consequences.
