Hi
When I had my second child I decided to take a break from my professional equestrian career to be a full time mom to my kids. I had no idea what effects my decision would cause me without my usual outlet of physical activity. I became horribly depressed and was overweight. My friend dragged me to the gym and I felt so self conscious. My only saving grace was that she knew her way around the gym and taught me everything I needed to get thru this time in my life. I became a gymrat and lost 70 lbs with the combination of diet and exercise.
I would watch people come to the gym the first time to never come again because they had no idea how anything worked or what to do there... not to mention being uncomfortable. I decided to begin helping these people and wrote a gym guide to teach about how things work at the gym with video links as examples. I do not take everything too seriously so I did add some much needed humor. This is free to read and I hope that you do. The gym can be a scary place but with a little knowledge its not so bad.

Good luck!!

Hey, that's terrific ! Sounds like my story, lol ! I lost 90 pounds within a year giving up all my bad habits and learning new ones : Eating well and exercising.
I'll check out your site too. Seems very interesting and I like the picture of the lil' rodent with the barbell too on the website, heh ! :-)
I don't go to a gym though. I always trained by myself. Mostly inside the house during the colder months (I have a room in the basement where I can train while watching TV usually ... it's near the computer as well and I have a big timer on the PC screen when I do exercises where I train using a timer, convenient) I mostly do calisthenic exercises there, a bit of weight training too.
During the warmer months I like to train outside : Cycling, sprinting too ...
Congrats on your great success !
Cheers !
Marc ;-)
