Hey, well, first off I want to say thank you to everyone on this forum. You all keep me so motivated to keep at it. It's so hard for me to keep going some days, because my family is sabotaging (not on purpose, at least I don't think so) by continuously bringing junk food into the house.
And my questions is this: If I am exercising 1-2 hours a day at high intensity cardio, and about 15 minutes of weight training, PLUS eating around 1600 balanced calories (fat, carbs, protein).... but am still struggling to lose 2lbs a week... am I doing something wrong? At first, my metabolism shut down because I was eating around 1000 calories... but now I am up to 1600 (because I want to do this healthily). But I read all the time how 2 lbs is good to lose per week, and it is apparently hard for me. I'm 22 and pretty muscular naturally, so I don't understand why it's like pulling teeth to lose 2lbs a week.
Also, sorry for writing a novel here, lol, but I was wondering about the whole Biggest Loser show. I know they have personal trainers, but I was wondering if I started going to the gym for like 4 hours a day, if that would help me lose the weight faster. I get impatient when I don't see results, and then I get discouraged. And I don't want that to happen. Thanks for all your help (whoever answers this! ) :)

2 lbs a week is exactly what I am trying to achieve myself. It seems our routines are very similar also. I have just had my 3rd consecutive week weigh-in with zero pounds lost, after having had good results up until then. For some reason I have hit a wall, which is very discouraging. However I refuse to give up this time. I have put too much time and effort in the gym to look back now. I can only hope my 'wall' will come crashing down and I'll burst into some fresh weight-loss very shortly. I have gone ultra-strict on every bite that I eat, including the extra blob of natural peanut butter that I used to augment my protein shakes with.
Logically speaking you should be losing 2 lbs/week, and so should I (maybe even 3!)

2 pounds a week is a good rate to lose weight.
