OK, in the name of sustainability and keeping the weight off without completely losing it and binging out, here are 3 items that I will find a way to incorporate into my diet no matter what:

1.  Pasta
2.  Butter
3.  Wine

and if I could add a 4th (which I can since I'm starting this thread) it would of course be chocolate, dark please.

1. chocolate.  I'm just very careful with it
2. ...

I started this thinking I had 3, but honestly I've changed my eating so radically I don't have the desire for the not so healthy choices.  Huh.

Wow, good job!
I let myself have pasta about once a week and I have to measure it and have a big glass of water before the meal so I'll start off feeling a little full.  Also, I switched to whole wheat pasta which I like just fine.  Pasta is definitely a trigger food. Butter I use sparingly, if olive oil will work I use that but if I'm having toast I either use butter or peanut butter.  Wine...well, let's just say that if I'm going to have it I make sure it's going to be worth it

I would have to say mine are

1. potatoes- I only have them about once a month now. Use to eat them daily.

2. cheese- I still eat cheese daily and I am trying to cut back and use low fat kinds.

3. chocolate- I do pretty good with this one, cause I am not big on sweets. But, every once in awhile I got to have some. I usually get candy bars and freeze them so it takes longer to eat them.

Lets see here....the three foods I absolutely REFUSE to give up are:

1). Peanut butter. I eat it daily....my addiction is under control.....it's just so good to me!!!

2). A few low-calorie treats such as "skinny cow" ice creams but those may not even count because I'm trying to wean myself.

3). The occasional slice of cheese?

I have a hard time just listing three.  I could also add:

Chocolate (ice cream, choc chip cookies, etc.)
Granola Bars (sometimes I think that I keep Kashi in business)
Veggie Omlettes (sp) (1x a month or less)
Blue Berry pancakes (1x a month or less)

Great topic by the way . Mine are:

1) Wine

2) Pizza

3) Candies

I love red wine so to cut this out of my diet would be an impossibility. As for pizza I just make my own home made pizza with skim mozzarella cheese instead of getting pizza out. I also use tortilla shells as the crust so I get less bread out of it and it makes them really crispy.

What is everyone else’s option on incorporating alcohol into their diets? I know tons of people just say absolutely no alcohol because it is just empty calories.

I have been a fan of the "1 drink a day" way of thinking, but I have not followed it at all.  I have a jug of red wine that I could be sipping off of, but it gave me a killer headache the last time I had it.

For me, it is usually a beer, or a rum of OJ.  But currently the only rum I have is Dominican and it is horrible with OJ (not much better with soda), so lately it has been Vodka and OJ.  But then again, usually the drinks only come on the weekends...

I love good wine with good food but if I'm going to have it I plan..I know I'm more likely to lose my resolve after a glass of wine, so I try to avoid having wine with a food that it would be easy for me to go overboard with-like pasta.  But I can have wine with fish or with a small cut of steak because you can make just enough steaks for the people at the table-so there isn't the possibility of seconds.  My husband will just make himself a peanut butter sandwich if he wants more food! :pig:  And I make myself drink lots of water, so I'm not drinking for thirst and so I feel kind of full anyway.

I always save a little space in the healthy zone for a little fun!  Life is about living, and that includes treats every once in a while.  Not something we eat all the time, but something for a special occasion.

Margaritas!! Pasta! and ICE CREAM!

Can't live without em! LOL

margaritas are yummy, you have to watch the alcohol consumption though, or at least I do, because alcohol makes me hungry!

Hmm...I haven't really been able to think of 3. Lessee...

1.) Beef

No way I can give red meat up entirely. Fortunately, there are somewhat healthy choices here if eaten in moderation. Give me hamburgers or give me death.

2.) Bread

There are healthy choices here, also, and I love whole wheat, just as long as it's bread.

Hmm...well, I can't think of a third. I would say pasta, but since I got sick eating it last time, maybe not.
