| Does Smoking Pot keep you from lossing weight? I don't mean smoking and then eating everything in the house and not going to the gym. Just smoking the occassional bowl.

Sorry, NoUserName, but this post has me giggling so much I'm getting pot lip. I apologize.
I really have no idea if the pot itself keeps you from losing weight, but I doubt it. The endless snacking and lack of motivation to move off the couch I'm sure is the biggest problem, weight loss wise anyway.

| I'd say yes. Probably not the pot itself but I know that many people find that it increases their appetite, so they eat lots afterwards. But it won't help you to lose weight and it's not healthy, so better don't!

Well I used to be a heavy pot smoker up until I started my weight loss goals. I found it impossible to not wanna eat my face off when I did so I cut it out completely. Now that I have reached all my weight loss goals I'm gonna start taking a few tokes here and there but now I have way more control over eating then I did. So I would yes it does keep you from losing weight

Lol, in my younger years, I remember not being able to keep weight off because of getting the munchies after smoking pot. Also, I don't remember being to energetic after smoking pot either.
on the other hand-
I guess it depends on how much you smoke it. I wouldn't think that an occasional toke would set you back to much. I would just keep healthy snacks around in case you get a munchie attack

I recall that in the not-so-distant past, I would have three different reactions to pot.
1. I would absolutley crave chocolate chunk cookies (chips ahoy brand or something similar). I would take a bite and just let it melt in my mouth, savoring every bit. It would take an hour to eat one cookie (or so it seemed).
2. I would become super energetic! I would ride my bike on the trainer for an hour, do tons of pilates, clean the apartment like mad.
3. I would veg out surfing the web.
Honestly, it all depends on the person. I do not believe that pot actually has any ingredients that help to retain weight, but simply, it tends to make you focus on one thing only (like tunnel vision). Not sure why it is food. I know that in college I had a tough time with some literature. I found that if I smoked right before reading, I would get so absorbed into the reading that I would lose all track of time (oh, and I got an A in that course)

smoking cigarettes or pot will help you lose weight but in a very unatural way in which will catch up to you and youll be in a whole different position which will be worse then the first position you were in , so i would suggest sticking to a normal plan nothing outrageous

Well, weed is known to increase the appetite and cravings. That's why many people talk about legalizing it to help people with weight gain who need it (cancer patients, anorexics ect.).
So, I guess yah...it can't be helping you lose weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
